Wight Blades, D3 W

Hi all, do these wpns still do D3 Wnds or do they just have the killing blow rule now, the book isnt vry clear ,ie doesnt say either way.

P.44 of the VC army book is quite clear in my opinion.

"Wight Blade: Any weapon carried by a Grave Guard makes magical attacks (but all of the normal rules for that weapon still apply). The weapon also has the Killing Blow special rule."

So, when armed with handweapons, a GG will do one S4 magical attack. If one roles a 6 to wound it is considered a Killing Blow.

When armed with great weapons, a GG will do one S6 magical attack on the charge. 6's to wound are killing blow

The same applies for the Black knights. The lances give them S6 magical attacks on the charge. 6's to wound are killing Blow.

Models on foot always recieve the +2 strength bonus from great weapons. It doesn't have to be on the charge. But they do strike last in prolonged combat.

The days when wights did D3 wounds with their wight blades have long been gone. They just have magical attacks and killing blow now.
