Dear Keepers
Last Thursday I faced Deamons of Chaos. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Such a small army I thought to myself. Nurgle Herald (general): noxious vapour Nurgle Herald: BSB, stubborn banner, re-roll to wound, always strike last The skull dude on his juggernaut 16 Plague bearers: FC 16 Plague bearers: champion 5 hounds of chaos 5 hounds of chaos 3 beast of nurgle For the second time I thought I faced dwarves, dressed up as deamons for the occasion. A fairly large forrest divided the battlefield on the left centre. As I was fairly cautious and my opponent went for the draw, nothing really happened. For spells my vamps had the following. All of them had raise the dead, two of them got curse of years and one had gaze of nagash. I treathened his line on the right flank with my knights, where he had his beast of Nurgle and chaos hounds with the skull dude. He constantly kept his distance and as I hadn’t enough access to Van Hells I didn’t close in. Cos I knew I wouldn’t be able to crush the beasts in one go. I concentrated gaze of nagash on the hounds on my left flank. Casted with irresistable force I wounded one of them. The hounds then charged my small dire wolf unit, mercilesly devouring them. Looking for new prey they overran in the large zombie unit. Book of Arkhan brought my ghouls into the flank of the attacking hounds – my opponent managed to roll snake eyes in his attempt to dispel the book – tearing the hounds apart. In the mean time, one plague bearer unit also marched forward on my left flank. The zombies faced them ‘bravely’, but in the end they whithered away. I managed to cast curse of years twice with irresistable force. However, we all know what follows hubris…the fall. In my last turn, I went for another gaze and, yep, snake eyes. Magic phase ends, I took a wound and spells in play end, giving away a minor victory Remember the curse? The plague unit with his general – the other curse was dispelled in his phase - was still under the curse (4’s to wound). If I wouldn’t have miscast this unit would have been taken under half his unit strength. Anyway, the battle has been fought, a draw in my favour. Next up are lizardmen, again. However, I’ll been facing two engines now Yours B |
