Title: Great Success!

jazzmatazz - November 24, 2006 08:29 AM (GMT)
I finally saw it! It took "only" 3 weeks but I finally did last night! And my belly still hurts from too much laughter.

This is probably the last we see of our idol, and he sure went out with a bang.

p.s. what's this I hear about a Bruno film?

A lot of people talk about a Bruno film.
Some suggest that it's just a cover for Sacha's new film with a new character.

I'm going to see it today finally

Glad you dug it, Jazz. I saw it for a third time last night and it continues to hold up as one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

BTW, I think when the Thursday numbers roll in, Borat will have broken the 100 million mark in the US. Great success, indeed!

I just came back from the cinema! Well, alright, me and my friend also stopped in the way for some traditional Arabic falafel in pitta bread.
It was amazing! hummus, lettuce, tomato, seasoned cabbage, everything!
I knew the movie only opens in Israel next week, but today I saw in the paper that there are some pre-premiere screenings in select cities. I'm from a small crummy town, so I thought it won't be here. But then I checked and it turned out it is.
My friend and I chose the earliest screening of the evening - 19:30. Hey, we're cool.
I took a shower, had some broccoli schnitzel and was on my way.
since it was kind of a low profile pre-premiere screening, plus the 19:30 thing, the crowd was just like 9 people and us.
It was really great. Amazing movie. really loved it. Sacha's the man.

Where are you from?

milkrembo - November 25, 2006 01:49 PM (GMT)
I'd rather not say. you know, cause you put your details out there, and the next thing you know, you can get raped or something. And it's not like I have a vagina or anything, so it's even worse.

I never had a problem with that happening.

But if one would rather not put their information out there, it is their right.

Cheers, Jim. For the last three days I haven't been able to stop thinking about it and have burst into laughter at the most random moments. Needless to say, I got plenty of strange looks from the people around me thinking I was bonkers. I'll definetly go and see it again in the next few weeks.

By the way, Borat crossed the 100 million domestic gross benchmark officially on Friday.

As of Sunday, they've made 109 million. I'm betting a finish in the 135-145 range...

The word on the street is that SBC got $5 million for the movie, thus not a percentage of the yield.
