Not sure of the date yet, but it was announced today that he will be a Special Guest on an upcoming episode.

Rant: I know Sacha wants to sell some DVD's, but come on..."American Idol"?! Very disappointed.

They said "Borat" or SBC?

I think Borat can't appear in shows anymore.
I mean, the movies is already out!
It's one think to promote your film in character, but to promote the DVD?
Sacha should appear as himself and share thougts and insights from the film to promote the DVD

Yup, as Borat.

American Idol? For fuck's sake.

Here are some details. The fact that it's for charity makes it a little better, but it's still beneath Cohen (hell, and Borat):

Will Borat ridicule foolish "American Idol"?

Ryan Seacrest had hinted that a big announcement was coming on Thursday's "American Idol" -- yes, it was bigger than Carrie Underwood's guest appearance. But I don't think the announcement -- a celebrity event -- was bigger than the shocking eliminations that evening.

Here's another shocker: Sacha Baron Cohen will play Kazakhstan journalist Borat Sagdiyev on "Idol." Yes, you read that right.

The program plans a big charity event April 24 and 25 to aid impoverished children in America and Africa.

The six finalists will deliver life-affirming songs in the hour show on Tuesday, April 24.

The next night, a two-hour results show will feature Gwen Stefani, Josh Groban, Pink, Michael Bublé, Annie Lennox and Il Divo. And Cohen -- who should add a bit of danger to the event, which is called "Idol Gives Back."

Was he ever not though? Ali G was whored out even more back in the day.

Based on Sacha's track record I'd be hesitant to say this was above him. But he seemed to grow as a serious comic since the move to the US, and focusing on the Borat character was always in my mind a step in a much more glorious direction.

I really expected better this time around, but he's significantly cheapening everything with all this.

Just wait until Bruno, guys. Fox completely missed out on the merchandising end of Borat, Universal will not make the same mistake.

By next summer, Bruno will be on everything from kid's lunch boxes to posters to dolls, etc. 'More Energy!': The Drink (with electrolytes) is a sure thing.

Did I miss this or did it just not happen?

I gave up watching this season of American Idol when I realized that none of the final women made me want to make sex explosion in tissue.
