HEARAS The Quote of The Day has not done any recognizable actions,

ALSO hearas the factrecognizing others shall not be an act for recognizment themselves,

PROPOSING that The Quote of Day's proposal to be revoked,

Hearby proposes repealment of Commend The Quote of The Day

Well, I was opposed to it in the first place so if you clean up the language a bit then I'm FOR. I'd been considering trying this myself, and was gonna post something sooner or later; this is what I've got so far.

QUOTE
RECOGNIZING that good wishes and friendliness are perfectly nice things;

BELIEVING that more than this is required for commendations, and that they should only be awarded when there is evidence of an extraordinary contribution to the world community;

NOTING that SC#45 contains no reference to any particular acts of note or exceptional contributions to this community;

NOTING that the activities that SC#45 commends Quote of the Day for are conducted by dozens of other nations, non of which have received commendation for them, and that picking out one such nation seemingly at random for praise is disingenuous;

BELIEVING that being committed is not enough for a commendation;

REPEALS SC#45

It's a better way of wording it methinks.

With operative clauses (the ones that actually do something), you actually do that action, not just propose it. Something like this would be better:

QUOTE
Hereby Repeals SC#45, Commend Quote of the Day.

Between the two of you, I think you can get a pretty good repeal worked out.

Thanks, what else do I need? I want to make it a better case, but I am stumped. I need more reasons.

Well for a start, I think you should talk to Belschaft about combining your proposals. Once you've decided if you're going to do that, I'll come up with some suggestions.

Y'Know, I am gonna just put it in the SC now. Thanks for the help!

It's ok, I guess, but it would've been better to spend longer on the drafting. You should be more patient tongue.gif

Y'know, you probably should have put up a drafting thread on the WA forums first. You also should have refereed to what he was actually commended for, which you haven't. I don't remember any references to providing aid or services to other nations in the commendation.

Do you not get WA procedure still, despite people here explaining it to you what, literally a dozen times?

Ok, as I don't expect Sintas bill to pass I'm gonna keep working on my version.

QUOTE
NOTING that a Commendation is defined as 'A resolution to recognize outstanding contribution by a nation or region';

BELIEVING that as such they should only be awarded when a clear evidence of an outstanding contribution to this community is presented;

AWARE that visiting every featured region is an activity carried out by numerous nations and regions, such as The Featured Region Followers, a region founded upon this specific principle that has been doing so since June 2007;

CONCIOUS that none of these nations or regions have received a commendation for their activities;

BELIEVING that as such to choose one nation which does so seemingly at random to receive this honour is disingenuous;

RECOGNIZING that references are made to both spreading 'good wishes and friendliness' and 'being one of the most committed nations in the world'

CONCEDING that these are both perfectly nice things and that the world would be a better place if more people actively aped such activity;

CONCERNED that these are however excessively vague and in no way match the requirement of an outstanding contribution;

NOTING that as such SC#45 contains no reference to any outstanding contributions to this community and as such there is no legitimate grounds for commendation within SC#45;

Hereby Repeals SC#45, Commend Quote of the Day.

Thoughts?

So much for combining them. Patience is a virtue.

Nonetheless, I've gone ahead and approved both versions.

I prefer Bel's version. But I'm a bit apathetic to the whole issue. I voted FOR the original commendation, and would probably just sit out on a repeal.

If neither of them attain quorum, how about you work together then?
