Smoke & Mirrors This is the place of the Astral Plane, a place dreamwalkers are able to make their own. Walk the dreams, walk the planes, but only if you are welcome. Human mystics and mutants with the ability may access the astral plane and the realm of dreams. You might not find what you seek here but may find something more. The astral plane is quite mutable and can be influenced by but a thought. Be careful what you do here. Forum Led by: Kathryn Draconna |

Times Square It's easy to feel like you're standing on the pulse of the world here. Towering motion picture billboards hum with digital life. Corporate logos slither up the faces of buildings like sentient neon. Stars gaze down from the large windows of MTV studios. Stop at a streetcorner and you might hear any number of languages being spoken by passersby. You can buy almost anything in the world here and it's perhaps because of this that the the air seems to crackle with possibilities.

Liberty Island Given as a gift to the United States from the French in 1886, the Statue of Liberty remains a beacon of hope for immigrants and a welcome to returning Americans. This famous landmark was also the site of Magneto's first attempt to turn the world's visiting dignitaries into mutants -- leading to his first full blown battle with the X-men.

The Vance Building A huge warehouse-like structure owned by Ms. Gina Vance located on the Western fringe of SoHo. Outwardly, it appears to be like every other loft in the area, a perfect facade that conceals the building's true purpose. It acts as the headquarters of The Mutant Underground. All operatives return here upon the completion of their missions to receive new orders before leaving for the field again. In addition, the building houses the Eastern Terminus of the Tunnels and serves as District X's remaining link to the outside world.

The Watchtower The Watchtower is the local bar and club scene for mutants and humans alike. Situated just three blocks from the first blockades around District X, the bright, fluorescent banner proclaiming "The Watchtower" is hard to miss. Directly beneath, scrawled in cursive, is the phrase "There must be some kind of way out of here." Come on, dive in to the retro, rebellious fare of The Watchtower. (Caters to birthdays, bar mitzvahs, and the occasional secret association meeting.)

District X Sometimes referred to as "Mutant Town" though, in truth, it comprises only a cluster of apartments and businesses that make up a city block in Hell's Kitchen. Here is the stomping ground of the neutral mutant faction. It's neither the glitziest nor safest of neighborhoods, but there is a strong sense of community here.
It is currently surrounded by a government barricade. If a hapless mutant were able to navigate his or her way through the hastily-erected gauntlet of barbed wire and concrete highway barriers, then he or she would have found safety. Government troops have yet to be able to breach the district's defenses.

W!R3D W!R3D is a friendly little shack of about 500sq ft floorspace with room for gamers to hook up to the many gaming terminals. It's run by a couple of gamers, Delilah and Scotty, who are both technopaths, and caters to mutants. Don't worry, come right in, it's a great atmosphere to get games and meet other gamers in a comfortable environment. LAN parties held weekly, and Wintereenmas celebrated in full glory.

Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters Located at 1407 Graymalkan Lane, in Salem Center, this stately Tudor mansion is the cradle of Prof. Charles Xavier’s dream for peaceful human and mutant co-existence. Within its ivy-covered walls, young mutants are provided with a formal education in addition to being given guidance to accept, understand, and hone their strange gifts. Following the events of Alcatraz Island and the furor surrounding the Cure, it has become the haven of many disenfranchised mutants.

St. Methodius St. Methodius is a satellite parish of St. Volodymyr's. It's smaller, but more upscale, and resembles it in miniature with senior housing next door. More young professional families and elderly have relocated here to escape the barricades and dangers of the city. They seek close ties with the Academy, but do not advertise this fact openly. Fr. John Vychensky is pastor here.

The "special cases" are kept in the underground base for further "investigation." It is sometimes laughingly nicknamed the "Mutant Ellis Island."
