A place where new (and old) RP-ers can practice writing in character. This is not required but I find that a little nudge can go a long way in improving everyone's writing. Just start a new topic and someone will drop by and begin replying with you in a non-canon RP. Pointers are available from the admins upon request as well.

The Moonpool
A hidden, beautifully clear lake on ThunderClan territory whose waters reflect StarClan and Silverpelt. All leaders must come here to receive their 9 lives, and Medicine Cats and their apprentice must visit once every few moons. Drinking from the pool causes one to go into a deep sleep in order to converse with StarClan.

ThunderClan and WindClan Border
Once outside of the forest ThunderClan cats come upon a strip of moors leading to a thin stream that cuts the boarder between their land and WindClan territory. Crossing this stream takes one into the fleet-footed Clan's land, which seems to be an endless expanse of moors. Both Clans patrol this boarder often.

ThunderClan and ShadowClan Border
Heading west through ThunderClan territory and up to the Woodland Clearing a cat can find a thin strip of river with a bridge at its northernmost point. This river marks the boundary between ThunderClan and ShadowClan territory. On the ShadowClan side is thick forest and marshes. Both Clans patrol this border regularly.

Though limitless moors encompass it on all sides this camp is actually quite well hidden. Set into a sudden dip in the land with a scattering of bushes all around, one could pass by it without ever realizing it's there! A windblown tree is perched on the moor above it, its thick branches leaning down so as to encompass the camp on all sides...Only WindClan cats can post here unless you've been invited!

Long, stretching, almost limitless acres of flat grassland surround the WindClan camp on all sides and extend for most of their territory. Primarily a hunting ground they are also used for training apprentices and escaping foes. One could easily get turned around out here if they're not careful...

Rolling Hills
A patch of empty, windy slopes that stretch upwards to form large, close-knit hills. Small pockets of wildflowers and a few scraggly trees grow near the tops of some of the hills, a lovely place to find birds and small rodents. Medicine cats love these hills seeing as plenty of herbs can be found on them.

Tall Grasses
Surrounding WindClan's camp and close to the heart of their territory is a short but thick stretch of long grass. Much like the reeds in RiverClan, they tower over a cat and provide excellent camouflage for warriors. Snakes and other enemies are hard to spot here, so one must rely mostly on their hearing and sense of smell to keep them safe.

Broken Half-bridge
This used to be one of those strange wooden bridges that lead out a ways into the lake for twolegs to tie their water monsters to. Some time ago it was destroyed, and now all that's left are a few posts and broken boards in the water. Large Twoleg Place
What they call a farm, this set of buildings is complete not only with a Twoleg nest but also a barn filled with mice and penned in fields with grazing creatures inside. Next to the Twoleg place and the barn is a field where the no-furs keep their horses. Big, smelly creatures they are frightening to gaze upon and even more so to hear. Speaking in loud brays and snorts these creatures could easily crush an unwary cat beneath their powerful hooves and not even know it was there. Large Thunderpath
Smell that stink mucking up the air? That's the scent of a Twoleg's monster, you must beware! The hard black surface of this path is patroled by the foul metal beasts almost daily, though none but the one that lives at the Horseplace stops for very long. During Greenleaf though, as the lake is buzzing with the furless ones, this Thunderpath become a trecherous place where cats can get easily squashed. Thankfully there is no real need to ever cross it...

WindClan and RiverClan Border
Once past the Horseplace all a cat needs to do is move west to run into a large stretch of marshes and swampland. This humid, mosquito infested bit of land is the boundary between WindClan and RiverClan. Scent markings often rub off here, but the patrols sent by leaders of both Clans more than keep up. Thanks to this problem both Clans heavily patrol the area so as to make sure no cat crosses the set boarders.

RiverClan Camp
Encircled on all sides by a stream and a thundering river, it is almost impossible for one to plot a sneak attack against this Clan. Thick, tall reeds form a tight circle around the outside of the camp, while soft sands layer the center to provide a comfortable resting place. Near the middle of the sand is a huge boulder surrounded by some random bits of driftwood...Only RiverClan cats can post here unless you've been invited!

Main River and Branching Stream
The two bodies of water that surround camp, full of fish and crawdads that Clan cats find delicious. In Newleaf when all the snows are melting the river has been known to overflow its banks, flooding the reed beds and causing the cats to move closer to WindClan territory for safety. But the prey is well worth the risk. A fallen tree on the southern bank provides access to the rest of the Clan's territory...just dont fall into the water unless you can swim!

Reed Beds
Growing along the banks of the river are lush, green reeds that bend and sway in the wind. Lily pads cover the surface of the water closest to them and blossom with lovely white and pink flowers in newleaf. Only found along the middle section of the river, they are a prime place to hunt water voles and fish.

Training Banks
As the name suggests, this patch of shoreline along the lake is used for teaching apprentices both how to swim and how to fight. The sand underfoot softens blows and provides a cushion if someone falls over or gets shoved. The lake water can sometimes flood this place after a large rain storm, so it is unavailable during floods.

Alternate Camp
Only in use during floods this is a semi-sheltered space within the marshes where RiverClan can wait out the rushing waters. An island in the middle of the humid lands, this place is infested with insects and filled with the musty scent of swamp waters. No one ever wants to stay here for very long...but the voles that live in the surrounding areas are quite tasty...

The Island
On the northern most section of RiverClan's territory is a huge island covered in trees, bushes, briars and rocks. Used for Gatherings once every moon no one is allowed to enter the island otherwise. A huge fallen pine serves as a way to access its sandy banks, but the bark is quite slippery and hard to grasp. Once across you walk forward through the tangle of briars surrounding the island to the clearing in the center. The huge oak tree here is where the leaders of all four Clans stand during the full moon gatherings.

RiverClan and ShadowClan Border
Moving out to the northwest section of RiverClan territory is one of the strangest Clan boarders known to the four territories. A Thunderpath cuts through the forest here, right up to a large Twoleg Place that only sees any use during Greenleaf. Beyong this is ShadowClan's forest territory, which no RiverClan cat is allowed to enter. Though silent during Leafbare and Newleaf, be careful crossing this road anyway...you never know when those crazy Twolegs have decided to drop by for a visit. Both Clans patrol this boarder every once and a while.

Deep Forest
A large stretch of spruce and pine trees interlaced with half-dead trees and rotting stumps. Beneath a warrior's paws the ground slopes gently downwards in some places, creating small hills. The rich brown earth is covered with clovers, the rocks smothered in moss and the trunks of the trees draped in ivy. Prey is rich and almost leaping into a hunter's paws. Stringing through the forest these dirt paths are lined with bright yellow or orange markers to keep the Twolegs from getting lost. Frog Pond
A tiny pond close to the two-leg dens with filmy water and green gunk covering it's surface. ShadowClan cats love this spot because it's an excellent place to catch one of their favorite foods- frogs. The slimy green creatures spawn here all the time, meaning there are plenty of eggs and tadpoles as well as adults hanging around under the water or on the slippery rocks.

Twoleg Nest
Usable only in Greenleaf by the Twolegs this place is silent for the rest of the four seasons. When the weather starts getting hot however it is abuzz with the furless ones, who go down the dirt paths leading from their den to the lake with their kits and dogs. Sometimes a Twoleg leaves behind their kittypets here, probably thinking they can survive in the forest. Well, ShadowClan will teach them otherwise...

Filled with flower gardens, vegetable gardens, planted trees for scratching and soft springy green grass this is a kittypets dream play area. Dark Woods
Also rather small in size, this group of taller conifers sits on the far side of the tiny woods and green fields. Almost no light gets through the thick overhead branches. Watch where you step since something might be hiding under your feet...

Abandonded Log Cabin
An old twoleg dwelling that has stood empty for many a moon. It is still rather sturdy and cats can find extra prey during leaf bare. Some furniture has even been left behind for nests! But watch out, you never know what lurks in the shadowy corners...

Shallow Pool
A small circular pond where the RiverClan stream finally ends. It has a few fish to supply the loners in the area with extra food. For some reason it is rather clear and not very murky at all. Very shallow, large cats can wade across easily, if they keep their heads up.

Upper Stream
A continuation of the main stream goes under the thunderpath and into the woods from RiverClan territory. If one looks hard enough they may fish here as well as a great source of drinking water.

Tiny Fields
A slope leading from the small patch of woods opens to an area of fields filled with many flowers and grasses. A great place to sunbathe for a time in the sun's rays.

Sheep Farm
A ways off from the tiny fields is a sheep farm. It has a warm barn filled with tasty mice and harmless, easy to scare sheep. The twolegs don't mind if the loners eat the mice, just watch out for the sheepdogs! They can be quite aggressive!

SkyClan Camp
Surrounded by meadows, forests, a thunderpath, and a twolegplace, the SkyClan camp is a deep gorge pocketed with caves. A cat needs strong, rough paw pads to walk the many cliffs that make up the dens. A stream at the eastern edge of the camp runs into a large river leading to lost, ancestral forests...Only SkyClan cats post here unless invited!

Whispering Cave
On the southern part of the gorge, a hidden cave leads into the Whispering Cave. The walls are covered with the special shining moss used for bedding and carrying water. Medicine cats come here to share tongues with StarClan every half-moon.

Skyrock
A solitary ledge atop a canyon to the north-west of camp. One must leap a chasm in order to get to it, but once there you can overlook the entire camp and most of the territory. Mostly used for lookout purposes, once a month the entire clan travels there for a gathering. Leaders come here to receive their nine lives.

Extra Caves
Along the walls of the gorge are multiple caves not part of the main camp. Of every side and depth imaginable, these indentations in the rock-face are only in use when the original dens get too full. Medicine cats tend to store herbs in the smallest of the caves as well. Sometimes snakes or other animals have been known to make their homes here if a particular den hasn't been used in a while.

Abandoned Barn
This wooden structure is surrounded by a run-down chain-link fence. Its roof is almost completely caved in, while its walls are rotting and full of holes. The entire place radiates a sense of danger and is filled with the scent of rats. Young cats are advised not to come here without a warrior.

Large Thunderpath
A large path, swathed in black tar like most others. Weeds soaked in gunk grow along its edges, while the air around it is filled with the acrid scent of twoleg monsters. Many cats have lost their lives on its rough black surface.

Twoleg Place
To the north of the gorge, beyond the meadow, is a large cluster of twoleg structures. In ancient times they used to be much further back, but like the ignorant creatures they are the twolegs kept demolishing valuable territory to build their dens. It is inhabited by them during all four season and no good for hunting.

Calm Creek
A tiny little stream with crystal clear waters, one could wade almost the entire way across without swimming. Pebbles line the banks and bottom instead of sand or mud, while tiny minnows and crawdads make their home within it. It's cool water is perfect for slaking thirst.

Oak Grove
A cluster of large, thick-trunked oaks growing close together provides an excellent hunting spot on the southern side of the gorge. Soft vegetation under-paw muffles a cat's movements so that it's easier to sneak up on something. Mentors also like to take their apprentices here to train.

Broken Stone Wall
No one knows quite why this wall was built, seeing as there is no two-leg den nearby. Only one part of it still remains standing; the rest of it has been reduced to rubble by the weather. Found on the south side of the gorge the rocks that build it are covered in moss and lichen, the cracks and holes in it's foundation providing hiding places for small animals.

Maplewood Forest
A thick stretch of woods full of towering, leafy Maple trees. Prey is abundant here seeing as the two-legs have settled on the opposite side of the gorge. During leaf-fall it is filled with color seeing as the tree's leaves turn brillant shades of red before they drop.

Fallen Oak
At the eastern boundary of the camp, a toppled oak creates a natural bridge over the river. It provides a way for cats to cross from one side of the gorge to the other and also marks the end of SkyClan territory.

Dead Tree
Close to Two-leg place and on the outskirts of the forest is a large, dead tree whose branches have all but broken off. It's trunk is cracked and forms a hollow half-way up that a cat can easily slip into, bark weathered and bone white. Beyond it is a grassy clearing with little cover and even less prey. This marks the end of this stretch of SkyClan's territory.

Tribe Camp
To show how well these cats have adapted to their home, their camp is located in a cave behind a large, raging waterfall. The entrance can be found by following a faint, rough path along the mountainside. One slip of the paw...and down you either plunge into the pool at the base of the falls and drown...or get smashed onto the sharp rocks below.

Waterfall and Pool
At the front of the camp is a roaring, frothing mouth of running water that careens from the mountaintop into a glittering pool below. This waterfall is an efficient way to keep cool in the hot moons of Greenleaf, as well as keep out unwanted enemies. Although the pool doesn't hold many fish, the water it contains is some of the purest ever known and is great for drinking. However, I wouldn't advise going for a swim...the current is quite strong.

Small Valley
Following the winding road through the mountains, you will find this tiny, nearly barren valley not too far away from camp. Surrounded by a ring of large stones, the only way in is through a large crack in one of the boulders. Its scraggly trees provide very little cover, but the trickling stream at the far end is a good source of fish as well as extra water. Clumps of thorny bushes grow wherever you look along the ground where rabbits sometimes like to hide.

Ancient Battle Site
Still heading down the mountain on the rocky path from camp, you will find this narrow strip of land corralled by steep slopes on either side. Old claw marks can be found everywhere; on the boulders, the walls, the pebbles beneath your paws. Rusty stains beneath some of the larger rocks are proof that even the rain that sometimes scours the mountain cannot remove the traces of the battle that once took place here. All Tribe cats pay their respects while walking through here...

Rocky Outcropping
A flat, rocky ledge that extends over a yawning canyon quite far away from camp. There is almost no ground cover here, a place where hawks have been known to carry away unwary cats since the first days of the Tribe. If you are careful not to loose your footing or be spotted by one of the giant birds, though, you may be able to set up an ambush and snag one as a meal...but watch out for its beak and talons.

Large Valley
Unlike the smaller canyon closer to home, this valley is lush with both plant life and ground prey. A large pool fed from water deep below the mountain bubbles up in its center, rich in minerals that have been known to keep cats healthy. Thin yet strong trees and bushes cover the entire area, their leafy foliage keeping both the prey and the Tribe safe from circling hawks. Despite being so far from home, this place is a prey-hunter's haven. But even Eden has its snakes...keep your senses alert for these scaled dangers.

Mountain Ledges
Every so often while walking around the worn path around the Tribe territory, you may find a piece of land sticking out almost comically from the mountainside. These ledges are capable of taking a cat's weight and provide a great view of both the lands below and around them. Often used as places to post sentries, no one but the Tribe cat's know where they are...so far.

Mountain Peak
After about a half-day's worth of climbing up from camp, a cat will feel their lungs begin to labor as the air becomes thinner with the altitude. A light frost covers the ground underfoot and never melts, even in the heat of greenleaf. This is the top of the mountain and if one were to look around in all directions they could see for miles. One wrong paw-step may lead to a long fall from which recovery is impossible...

Once a cat climbs down the mountain on this side they are on the far outskirts of clan territory. A few days journey north and they'd reach the lake. You're leaving Tribe territory at this point and headed to the lake.

Sun-Drown Place
When one has gone as far as they can go away from the Clan's territory, they will come across a vast open area not far from a large Two-leg place. What's unique about this spot is that the edge of the land is cut away into a sheer cliff, the water beyond it limitless and stretching across to what seems like the ends of the earth! The air tastes of salt while numerous white birds fly about overhead, cawing like angry ravens. Though it is generally a safe place there are a couple spots where the earth opens up to reveal caves leading out to sea. The fall is high and could seriously injure or even kill a cat.

Sea Cave
The entrance to this rocky formation is a hole in the ground close to the edge of the cliff. Difficult to find, one is more likely to fall in and hurt themselves than climb down the thin ledge on the side wall. The tang of the sea is evident here becase the far side of the cave opens up to the ocean. Salt water laps the rocky floor, coering up most of it during high tide.
