Train Until You Drop!, Pine+Ivy+White+Night+Shrew+Clover

Pineclaw and Whitefoot sat waiting near one of the dirt paths the twolegs used to travel through the forest, discussing how they could pit the apprentices against each other.

"After that badger attack a while back, we should probably teach them how to fight one," the albino warrior meowed.

Pineclaw twitched his whiskers. "Yes but we're more likely to run into problems with other clans than from another badger. They should learn more advanced techniques that could work on other cats."

Meanwhile Cloverpaw skittered happily towards them with her tail fluffed up and her eyes bright. Training with Nightpaw would be so much fun!

[Nightsong]

'Nyaaaaaah!!" Ivypaw yowled, skidding over the dirt of the twoleg path with rushed speed and flailing paws as she arrived. Her speed causing her to nearly crash into a nearby tree though she managed to stop just in time, flopping her belly down onto the ground. "Please tell me I'm not late for training!" The little tabby asked once she had recovered.

Nightpaw followed close behind the two warriors, pawsteps light as he looked around him with contented green eyes. The weather was great and he was going training, with Cloverpaw, no less!

He was enjoying the feel of the slight breeze ruffling his pelt when Ivypaw suddenly came crashing in, skidding haphazardly about and narrowly missing a collison with a large, prickly-looking tree. Recovering from his surprise, Nightpaw mewed to his fellow apprentice, "Don't worry, we haven't started yet. You should really be careful, Ivypaw, you nearly smashed your muzzle into that tree!"

[BlackTyranno]

Pineclaw purred at the eager she-cat; beside him Whitefoot couldn't help but smile at his apprentice as her wide eyes gazed up at them. "You're actually just on time," the albino tom meowed. The bengal warrior nodded in agreement.

"You can Nightpaw can actually start us off if you like. Try to knock your opponents legs out from under them in any way you can; I want to see what you know before I teach you any new moves. Cloverpaw, you can watch."

The spotted she-cat nodded and sat down a little ways away from the others so she could look on.

[Moonfirestorm]

Nightpaw nodded, swallowing down his nervousness as he tried to resist the urge to glance over at Cloverpaw. Looking at Ivypaw infront of him, he stood, focusing.

On light paws he circled the spotted she-cat, green eyes flicking back and forth to document any movement that might be used against him. Swiping out a sheathed paw to the right of her left shoulder to try and catch her off-guard, he lunged to her left, throwing his weight to the left to make up for the momentum his trick had taken up. Bringing his paw around with a snap he swept it towards her legs from the side, attempting to knock them out from underneath her...

[Nightsong]

Ivypaw took a single step away from the distracting swipe, jumping up and over Nightpaw as he tried to sweep her paws out from under her and swiping her sheathed paws over his scruffy head. She landed perfectly on the ground again, swiftly scooting herself backwards to place a certain distance away from her opponent.
"Gonna have to do better then that Nightpaw, me and Mistpaw practice all the time!"

[Moonfirestorm]

Nightpaw rolled to regain his footing as Ivypaw avoided his attack, back on his paws in moments. Adrenaline mixed with a determination that was clear in his green eyes as he focused all of his attention on the mock fight, senses hyper-aware as he kept his muscles ready to spring or leap at any moment.

“It shows,” He replied, fangs bared in a tiny grin. He kept his eyes trained on the apprentice in front of him, keeping all the tips that Pineclaw had given him during training fresh in his mind. He could practically hear his mentor’s voice in the back of his mind, reminding him of the things he had learned as he waited for any opening that might allow him to tip the fight in his favor.

Patience, Nightpaw. Never let your opponent get to you. Always be patient...

[Nightsong]

Ivypaw waited almost patiently, her muscles tense and ready to spring into action as soon as the other apprentice moved. Don't make me wait too long Nightpaw. She thought.

( I ran out of things to say.)

[Moonfirestorm]

An idea suddenly occured to the black apprentice as he waited, careful to keep his face blank as he thought it through. Circling to Ivypaw's right as if he was looking for an opening, he tensed his legs, leaping forward.

I hope this works...

[BlackTyranno]

The two mentors watched the apprentice's fight, eyes noting what moves were executed well and which ones still needed a little work. Meanwhile Cloverpaw waited with wide, excited eyes to see who would come out on top. She loved her sister but...she also cared about Nightpaw.

I can't choose! she wailed inwardly. I wan't both of them to win!

[Nightsong]

Ivypaw watched her opponent move, eyes narrowed as she followed his movement to always face him. As Nightpaw leaped her eyes widened. Ivypaw tried to move out of the way but her reaction wasn't fast enough and the black apprentice came coliding into her. She let out a short yowl of surprise and irritation as her feet were swept out from under her from the force and she found herself underneath Nightpaw when the two were done tumbling.
"Your heavy." Ivypaw mewed bluntly.

[BlackTyranno]

"Well done, Nightpaw!" Pineclaw's proud meow ran clear in the morning air. Eyes shining the brown bengal tabby padded forward to join the two apprentices. Whitefoot joined him and gave Ivypaw a sympathetic smile.

"It's because they're so fat they can knock our legs out," he whispered teasingly. "Next time insted of jumping to the side, try to leap up and over him instead. It's a little more tricky but can not only be used against cats but foxes and badgers as well."

Cloverpaw purred at Nightpaw and nudged his cheek in congrats before turning to her sister. "You were awesome Ivypaw!" she gushed. Her tiny tail waved back and forth in excitement. "Can I fight you next?"

[Moonfirestorm]

Nightpaw's blue eyes widened as he collided with Ivypaw, noting the fact that he could probably use a few pointers in grace as they both went tumbling. Getting to his paws, he smiled a little sheepishly, tail flicking, but some of his embarrassment was swept away as Pineclaw praised him, and Cloverpaw's congratulations in the form of a purr and nudge to the cheek left his pelt burning, almost painfully aware of the spot she had touched. Purring, his smile grew as he took a step back to give the two she-cats room to train.

[RedOracle]

Shrewfang had to chuckle at Cloverpaw's enthusiasm. The young she-cat had always been willing to try the newest training methods or fight clan mates over twice her size. Green eyes full of pride he nuzzled her before meowing, "I think that would be quite an interesting match up. Make sure not to go easy on her just because she's your sister ok?"

[Nightsong]

"Why would one of us go easy on our own sister?" Ivypaw asked, sounding genuinely shocked though her eyes showed she was laughing on the inside. "Then we wouldn't learn anything at all!"
The young she-cat looked over to her sister with a gleaming, mischievious happiness in her eye. Settling her paws down into a battle stance she called, "Ready for some sisterly bonding Cloverpaw?"

"I was born ready!" Cloverpaw meowed. Crouching down, she focused intently on her sister and wriggled her haunches. She'd show everyone what she was made of!

Without much thought she launched herself toward Ivypaw and gave a mighty battle cry. Hopefully she could sway the other she-cat's face a bit then knock her over, like Nightpaw! It couldn't be too hard...

Ivypaw huffed in annoyance as she saw what Cloverpaw was about to do.She charged at an angle both toward and away from her sister when the pounce started, running right past her, before pivoting on her paws and launching herself at Cloverpaw from behind.

Nightpaw held his breath, watching the sisters as they trained. You can do it, Cloverpaw!
