Keep Hijinks and General Tomfoolery, waaarp!

[Lima]

Chris burst through the door of the Keep and marched into the common room.

"Dana!" he yelled, angry enough to forget Robin's name. "Get DOWN here! How do you expect me to do my business if you're MUCKING in it ALL THE TIME!"

When he had started his tirade, a few young elves sitting on one of the couches had turned and stared at him. Now they whispered to themselves and ran up the stairs, giggling nervously.

[Liza]

Robin wandered in a moment later, holding a book and frowning. "Someone said there was a crazy--oh." He tossed the book down onto one of the couches, pushed his hair back and took a good luck at Chris. "You look pissed."

[Lima]

"I AM pissed, Dana!" Chris yelled back, even though Robin was sitting less than eight feet away from him. "You--you know you're not supposed to mess with my business. Ruin my competitors all you like, sure, but you have no RIGHT to interfere with my legitamate enterprise!"

Chris was beginning to feel a bit silly, as he often did five minutes after he lost his temper. Still, he had to keep up appearances and all, and that meant he had to keep screaming.

Besides, Robin had cheated him out of some money. Probably.

[Liza]

Robin folded his arms and raised an eyebrow. "Is this about that girl? Sheeron or Sky or whatever you know her by? Because she came to the Keep asking for a bed. It's not like I'm forcing her to give up your business."

[Lima]

"Oh, come on," Chris growled at Robin. "I know your policies. She- she was a great customer, Dana! And now I haven't seen her in almost a week."

Chris sat down at the couch and fiddled with the antimacassar. He felt embarrassed for his earlier outrage, but there was still something else for him to bring up. "Besides, she's not the only thing you've been messing with. I thought you told your people not to take from me and give to the poor. We've had 3 robberies in 10 days."

((Er, this could or could not be the Ragmen. I'm leaning towards not.))

[Liza]

Robin shrugged. "Not my fault if one person decides differently. And besides, we've been busy working for Bunny all last week. None of my men have knocked over anything of yours."

[Lima]

Chris sighed. He had had a feeling that it wasn't Robin, but he still wasn't going to let him off easy.

"Still," he said, looking at the floor like an admonished child. "Don't steal my customers, Dana." He felt like a broken record or something, rambling on like he was.

"Er, what's- what's going on?"

((SHould we pretend that this is warpsied and that Raz is going to come in soon? Or not?))

[Liza]

Robin raised a quizical eyebrow. Even though he'd known the elf since childhood, Chris' abrupt switches from temper tantrum to casual conversation still threw him for a loop. "...I was reading," he said, gesturing to the book. "And I don't steal your customers," he added firmly. "I'm not selling anything, just giving them a place to crash."

((um, sure))

[Lima]

"Yeah, sure," Chris mumbled. While he knew Robin wouldn't take away his business, that didn't stop him from worrying, espescially if Cam and Ransom were involved. Chris loathed Cam and Ransom, for reasons that went without saying.

Normally, Chris would mess with Robin about now, but he just wasn't feeling it then, so he stood up, zipped his hoodie, and was halfway to the door when a teenaged boy burst in.

"Yeah, so uh, this is the Keep," Zak said as he walked across the threshold ahead of Raz. He had never actually been in the Keep before; he hadn't even ever met Robin Hood before--so he was understandably nervous. He knew he had to keep pretending to know what he was doing for Raz to keep liking him, but it was hard.

There were two elves standing in the room Zak had stumbled into. One was short and hip, with an intimidating edge about him. Zak took a small step away from him. The other one, standing next to a couch, Zak recognized as Robin.

Zak looked back at the entrance, where Raz stood. "And that's Robin," he said to her, pointing at the respective elf for a second before remembering a lifetime of Jude's lectures about pointing and lowering his arm.

[Beara]

Raz smiled as she saw the slightly nervous look flash across Zac's face, looking from Robin to Chris and back. "Hey guys." she said with a little wave, cheerily. "I'm Raz, I'm fairly new here and Zak was just showing me around." she explained, still grinning, looking to Robin because he seemed to be the one in charge. "So, you're Robin Hood, then?" she asked him, her head slightly titled in a gentle questioning way.

[Liza]

"Uuum, yep," Robin said. He squinted apraisingly at the two new comers for a moment, then gave up ubruptly. "I don't know who you two are though. Who are you and why don't you knock?"

[Lima]

"This is Raz," Zak said, nudging the girl foreward. He was just here as an escort, and didn't feel like discussing things with Robin. He really didn't feel like discussing anything with that other elf. He made Zak feel like a scared little kid, and Zak didn't have a clue as to why.

Taking one more step away from the elf, Zak rushed on, even more nervously, "Sorry we didn't knock, the door was open. She needs a place to stay--I told her you could help."

[Beara]

Raz nodded complacently. "Yeah, what he said." she said cheerily, taking a step forward when nudged. She glanced in between the two elves.

[Liza]

"I see," Robin said, looking thoughtful. "Well we don't turn anyone away who really needs it. But if you're so keen to help her, why isn't she staying with you? We can't offer her more than a blanket and a pillow and a cot if she's lucky."

[Lima]

Zak shrugged. "My brother doesn't do visitors," he said. Jude didn't just not do visitors, he had this wierd fear of strangers. It was probably because he put on that bullshit fake personality in public.

Chris was still standing halfway to the door. He couldn't say why, but something about the girl interested him. It wasn't a feeling he could put into words, so he just gave the kid another menacing look. Chris loved to be menacing.
