It Could'a Been Verse...

Observations on O'Bama's Win in the Maryland Primary

He’s wet behind his great big ears
I’m glad he won, and yet,
O’Bama’s win can’t calm my fears
Nor banish the regret

That Edwards and Kucinich
Were not among my choices
The two remaining represent
A paucity of voices

Is Bush, then Clinton, Bush, then Clinton
The best that we could do?
And John McCain’s warmongering
Leaves me cold, how ‘bout you?

John Edwards and Kucinich,
I would have loved to see
I fear the choices offered us
Were Tweedle Dum and Dee

No single-payer health care plan
Will see the light of day
The M-I complex need not fear
Peace getting in it’s way

The Corporation party
Remains firmly in charge
With changes at the margins
And the changes won’t be large

The end of Bush’s strutting reign
Promises some relief
And Giuliani (what a pain!)
Won’t wind up as our chief

Politics in America
Almost beyond belief.
