Thought in a Time of Paradigm Shift

Boy that's a lot of money they're throwing at everything out there. Where does it all come from? Attorney Ellen Brown, author of "Web of Debt," answers that question with sound proposals for action to get us out of this crisis vs. what is currently being taken.

A lot of listeners ask what should be done during a time of crisis. That's difficult to answer because every person's situation is different. For the last part of the program, John addresses thinking in a time of crisis and paradigm shift using clips from a speech to the Koinonia Institute conference in October of 2008.

John's boralogue reports on a swat team raid this week on, of all things, a food cooperative in Ohio, which has left people both in an out of the state scratching their heads as to why.

Web of Debt - The Shocking Truth of our Money System and How we can Break Free:
http://www.webofdebt.com/

QUOTE
EXPLODING THE MYTHS ABOUT MONEY

Our money system is not what we have been led to believe. The creation of money has been "privatized," or taken over by a private money cartel. Except for coins, all of our money is now created as loans advanced by private banking institutions including the private Federal Reserve. Banks create the principal but not the interest to service their loans. To find the interest, new loans must continually be taken out, expanding the money supply, inflating prices and robbing you of the value of your money.

Not only is virtually the entire money supply created privately by banks, but a mere handful of very big banks is responsible for a massive investment scheme known as "derivatives," which now tallies in at hundreds of trillions of dollars. The banking system has been contrived so that these big banks always get bailed out by the taxpayers from their risky ventures, but the scheme has reached its mathematical limits. There isn't enough money in the entire global economy to bail out the banks from a massive derivatives default today. When the investors realize that the "insurance" against catastrophe that they have purchased in the form of derivatives is worthless, they are liable to jump ship and bring the whole shaky edifice crashing down.

Web of Debt unravels the deceptions in our money scheme and presents a crystal clear picture of the financial abyss towards which we are heading. Then it explores a workable alternative, one that was tested in colonial America and is grounded in the best of American economic thought, including the writings of Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. If you care about financial security, your own or the nation's, you should read this book.

Legal Tender Statute & the Federal Reserve:

QUOTE
From the U.S. Code Online via GPO Access
[www.gpoaccess.gov]
[Laws in effect as of January 3, 2007]
[CITE: 31USC5103]

[Page 280-281]

TITLE 31--MONEY AND FINANCE

SUBTITLE IV--MONEY

CHAPTER 51--COINS AND CURRENCY

SUBCHAPTER I--MONETARY SYSTEM

Sec. 5103. Legal tender

United States coins and currency (including Federal reserve notes and circulating notes of Federal reserve banks and national banks) are
legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues. Foreign
gold or silver coins are not legal tender for debts.

(Pub. L. 97-258, Sept. 13, 1982, 96 Stat. 980; Pub. L. 97-452,
Sec. 1(19), Jan. 12, 1983, 96 Stat. 2477.)

[/color]

Can you believe this? The US Constitution says only Congress can "coin money" (Article I,Section 8). The fed is a private organization, so isn't this UNCONSTITUTIONAL, THEREBY ILLEGAL?

Source: "Web of Debt" by Ellen Hodgson Brown (Chapter 8 pg 88)

QUOTE
In the Twentieth century, the Legal Tender Statute (31 USC Section 5103) applied this definition of "legal tender" to Federal Reserve Notes; but it was an evident distortion of the intent of the original Acts, which made only currency "issued by the United States Government" legal tender. Federal Reserve Notes are issued by the Federal Reserve, a private banking corporation; but that rather obvious discrepancy was slipped past the American people with the smoke and mirrors illusion that the Federal Reserve was actually federal.

pg 108 Chapter 11 of the book Rep Charles Lindbergh Sr said the following: (See pg 123 in the ebook above)

QUOTE
"When through the process of the law, the common people have lost their homes, they will be more tractable and easily governed through the influence of the strong arm of the government applied to a central power of imperial wealth under the control of the leading financiers. People without homes will not quarrel with their leaders."

Interview with Ellen Brown: (Don't know if this is true, but certainly interesting! So what are Ellen's feelings about the UN? Someone should ask her!)
http://www.thedailybell.com/496/Ellen-Brown-Web-of-Debt.html

QUOTE
Brown: I was born in California, grew up in the Detroit and Denver suburbs, graduated from UC Berkeley in English and then from UCLA Law School. I met my husband Cliff in law school, and we worked as attorneys in L.A. for 10 years (11 for him), until he burned out on Beverly Hills law and decided to join the U.S. Agency for International Development. He always wanted to go abroad, and it gave me a chance to write and have more time with the kids (we have two). From 1989 to 2000, we lived in Kenya, Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua. Then I got divorced and returned to the States, where I discovered this most interesting of writing subjects. I'm still good friends with my ex; I just ran out of topics overseas! There was more to it than that, of course, but I do feel I had to come back to the States to find this topic du jour. My daughter now works for a U.N. N.G.O. and my son is a graduate student in economics in Michigan.

An email question of a listener was posed to Ellen on the show. The question was about who her daughter works for. She hung up. Never heard the answer. I found this interesting, so I went looking for some information, and found the above interview. There's always another side to the story, it seems!

She is also invoking the 14th Amendment as a solution to the Debt Ceiling standoff. I think she is not interpreting this correctly!
