Title: They're done!
Jake D. - March 6, 2009 02:18 AM (GMT)
After much stalling I finally finished them today. I think they came out decent. I know I've done worse! 2 drake buffleheads killed on 11/27/2008. First and only buffleheads I've killed.

Thanks guys. I'll try and get another pic up tomorrow of a buddy's Oldsquaw, if I finish it. And my uncle is giving me a display case that is 36"x32"x16" that I'm going to do a lakeshore scene. I will be putting in my 2 goldeneyes (drake and hen), and then 3 birds from my buddy, a drake whitewing scoter, and a drake and hen oldsquaw. I just hope I have room for them all!

How much does it run to get a duck done jake?
Jake D. - March 9, 2009 05:35 PM (GMT)
I charge $175 for a duck. Standing birds include a small base (usually driftwood). Flying birds have a wire coming out of the top wing with a loop to hang, or for extra $$ I can put them on a driftwood or other base. My buffleheads I ran a separate wire out of the stomach to attach to the base. A mount like those I would charge $375-$400 based on the size of the base. Also keep in mind of that money, $350 is for the birds alone.

They look great Jake!!!! You're going to have to put an addition on the house just for all your mounts.!! :D

Jake those look awesome, I can't wait to see how my birds turn out.

Yeah I already need an addition! And I still have 7 or 8 more ducks/geese. Then a couple turkeys, and today I found a GIANT mallard in the freezer that was one of my uncle's domestic ducks. The thing is like a 15 pound duck, bigger than most geese!
