Pardon me I get a little keyboard tied when I see gobblers. About 10:00 this morning I went to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. Looked outside and back in the cornfield were 4 gobblers all strutting. I ran to get my spotting scope and when I got it set up I could only find three. Two longbeards and a jake. One of the gobblers harrassed the jake till it folded like a leaky balloon and went off into the fencerow. The longbeards stayed about 8 or 10 yds from each other but finally went into the fencerow too. That is a sight that get a turkey hunter to the boil point and the season doesen't open till April 30.
Paul, come to TX. We start March 19th this year and run til May 1st.
Wow that would be great Herbie but my wife and I make an annual pilgrimage to Kansas every April to see our daughter and family and for me to hunt turkey there and I also have a friend in Branson MO that I can hunt with and have done so. Got too many irons in the fire for this year but just might be able to swing it next spring with a little planning. Where in Tx are you.
