Just wanted to say that on Wednesday morning I shot a squirrel with my bow. It was a big fox squirrel and he was bugging me. I had the arrow from my buck in my quiver yet so I used it. The damn thing started chewing on my arrow since it pinned him to the ground before he died. So now I am down one of my Navy arrows. Guess I better keep some older ones in the quiver for squirrels.

Congrats on the kill. Was it with a broadhead? After starting to clean my closet out tonight to move my gun cabinet, I found some older arrows to use with my old longbow. I'm setting it up for squirrels and one of the arrows I experimented with tonight! I took the old bad vanes off and found one of my old turkey wings and cut part of 3 feathers and glued them on like I would normal feathers. So now I have a true feathered arrow! And being turkey feathers, it really matches the bow. The bow itself we made for me by my grandpa in 1998 so it's small with only a 30# draw weight. But it should kill a squirrel!

Yes it was with a braodhead. It was the one I used on the buck I got. Still had it in the quiver.

That arrow looks really cool. I might just have to do that with some of my older arrows. Gotta see what I have for wings lying around. If not I will just have to pick some up in the woods as there are LOTS of them out there. How well does that arrow shoot?

Not sure, hasn't been shot with the new feathers. I gotta make 5 more then I'll let ya know. But maybe I'll shoot it a few times to test it.

Just was out shooting it. Flys nice out of my longbow. It's a small one though. My grandpa made it for me when I was 8. It has a 30 pound draw. I'm accually shooting pretty good with it. Can't wait till I do those other 5 though!

Nice fletching job there Jake. I think what you are trying to make is a Flu Flu arrow.
They have large fletchs and are designed for small game so you don't lose your arrow.
