SO FAR. We have some time yet and will be heading out tomorrow (Friday thur next Tuesday morning). He got a doe on Friday morning and then on Saturday night got this 8 point below.

We had a strange east wind on Saturday evening so he hunted to the west of some of our known doe bedding areas. With a west or north wind these bedding areas are really not huntable. Anyway he gets in stand at about 2:50 (hunting closes at 6:20 or so that night). Hits his can call 4 times and hears something coming in less than a minute. This buck walked down wind of him at about 23 yards. Well he has been saying for years that he is tired of taking deers breath away and he wants to break ones heart some time. I got us custom make truck stickers that say "BowHunting - Breaking Hearts and Taking Breath Away". Well he did it. He laid that bucks heart wide open.

Thanks. I forgot to post in there that we scored him at 100 6/8. He said anything over 100 he was going to get mounted. A high school hockey buddy of his that now does taxidermy is going to do it for him. Said it will be ready by Christmas. Looks like it will end up at my house until he is done in the Navy in 2 years IF he decides to leave the Navy.

Tell Matt Thank You, from the Great Outdoors Bulletin Board for serving this Great country. It is Brave men like him, and our other soldiers that allow us to have a hunting season and sleep in peacefully at night.
I hope he enjoys his leave to the fullest and the Wisconsin deer better look out!
I know you boys ain't done yet biggrin.gif

Thanks guys. I took Matt back to the airport this morning. SUCKS to have to send him back. Anyway he got another doe on Monday morning making his trip 2 does and that buck.

I did manage to get a Red Fox one morning. That was pretty cool. I will have to post some pictures in a different thread once I get them loaded up into photobucket.

Thanks again everyone and I will pass the message along to Matt.
