Bass on topwater frog

Just got back from fishing with my buddy JJ.. We did pretty darn good!!! We fished for 3 1/2 hours and caught a total of 7 fish. He caught 6 and I caught one, but the one I caught was BIG!! Caught it on a topwater frog lure.. Just casted it and popped it occasionally while reeling it in.. Then next to a structure in front of me, I see a big bass in the water.. I cast it and slowly work the lure to the fish.. I get it about a foot away from it and it looks at it and looks the other way, then I jerk the line and he goes up and slams the lure. I then reeled him in and landed him... My buddy took the pics.

Joe there is nothing like a bass on topwater. I go out at night up in Windham with jitterbugs and crazy crawlers. The fish seem to be bigger at night and when they hit ... lookout

Nice bait , so where's the bass you caught ?
That looks about the size of the rock bass in these parts .

I love buzzbaits for topwater bassin' , those things drive them insane when they go by . For structure fishing like that I would have chugged a soft platic on a beetle spin past him or flipped 7" curly tail Power Worm so that it hit the log and dropped right by him .
