(I wanted to give a try, be honesy if I messed the presentation up too badly!)

A young man stands in a glade, sitting on a treestump, waiting.
As he stands up to greet the one he waits for, color fades from the forest, sounds from distressed animals turn silent without them ceasing to cry, solid matter become intangible as the threads snap one by one and as the sky falls down in pieces, the world itself crumbles.

What kind of world? Who knows, it is gone, faded, forgotten by now.
A living energy that gives of a green light manifests on another world, dropping the boy off.

'I told you that it was a bad idea to invite a Fifth to do this MTC introduction with us, but no, you never listen to a voice of reason. You shall always give everyone a chance no matter how many times they stab you in the back... Remind me again of why I still even bother trying to talk sense into you, Kojiro!' the energy snapped at the young man.

'Ekegi, calm down. The Fifths do what they do because that is the only way they think they can be. Expecting them to be what they are, they will stay so. But if you give them a break, maybe they will be themselves?' the young man put his earthcolored, gloved hand to his chestharness. It would be wrong to call it a suit, but it would be equally wrong to call it an armour, as it was both.

The Fifth had found them again.
The green energy formed into solid form, one of a large serpentic lizard with eight pair of legs, ready to protect the human from it.
'Ekegi and... what did you say your name was again?' he smiled at it, expecting an answer.

'We do not do names' it replied.
'Come on, everyone have a name, an identity. That is how we define ourselves from each other and how we call out to each other. My name is Kojiro Kojegi, and this is my friend Ekegi Lizerpect!'

'I am not amused, Kojiro.' was his reply from his reptilian friend.

'Niether am I' the Fifth stated.

'See? You two are already agreeing on something!' the young man was really satisfied.

The Fifth and the Converterian looked at each other and realized, they
were actually agreeing on something.

'...!' both exclaimed.

'Aaaaaaanyway, we were supposed to presentate the theme for the monthly theme challenge, remember?' Kojiro spat out cheerfully.

'And what theme is that?' the Fifth was still not amused.

'Three themes actually, and I think you will like atleast one of the three. One is 'Undoing'. That's why I thought it would be good to have you here.' he explained.

The Fifth was speechless.

'The other two are Negativity...' Ekegi began.
'... and Agreement.' the Fifth ended.

'Perfectly done, both of you' they were commented.
'Correct me if I am wrong, but this entry seems wrong. It is not like the other MTC presentations.' Kojiro's friend complained.
'That is because it is our author that writes this one, not the other one that normally write them.' was the answer she recieved.

'To end this now, the themes are Undoing, Negativity and Agreement. Now, this presentation shall end!' the Fifth had decided to put an end to the presentation.

'We can't end it yet, I havent even told them the catch yet!' Ekegi protested.
'Why do we need a catch for?' Kojiro protested to Ekegi.
'Because it will make things more interesting' she replied with an evil smirk.

'What kind of catch?' the Fifth asked.

'As the reader certainly would have noticed by now, unless they are less intelligent than my friend here...' Ekegi replied.
'Hey!' her friend cut in.
'Me and him are opposites. He is positive while I am negative. He is optimistic, while I am pessimistic. So we will make that the catch to our themes. When you write a theme, you must include its opposite as well.' she really started to enjoy this now.
'So... Undoing... Making?' Kojiro wondered.
'Negativity, Positivity' Ekegi added.

'Agreement and Disagreement' the fifth added.

To clarify: These are the actual themes-
Undoing (erasing, deleting, destroying, nullifying or otherhow remove something that previously was existing)
Negativity (Pessimism, minus, anti-something)
Agreement (agreeing on a deal, agreeing that someone is right, agreeing with what is important etc)

You can choose one of them or all three, but remember, when you choose a theme (or more) you will have to include their opposites as well:
If you choose/include Undoing, you have to do Making as well.
If you choose/include Negativity, you have to do Positivity as well.
If you choose/include Agreement, you have to do Disagreement as well.

And please, no Joke posts that serve no other purpose than spamming. The Fifth is allowed to eat such posts.

This MTC will last entire October, since it was posted so late in September. Have fun ^^

A World Unlike His Own Pt. 8

--------------------------------------------------

A bright world, engulfed with a brilliant light, its beauty and splendor unparalleled. At least, that is what the world was, once. That was before the world was stripped of what comprised it; light and darkness. This world was once the very same Riviera in which our two heroes originated. A casual glance alerted to a world void of color, but with a lingering eye, one would notice the lack of life, everywhere. The environment remained as it was: The trees were still standing and foliage remained steadfast. However, there was no feeling of life within them, at all. It was as if someone, or something, had removed their very essence.

It was in this world that two lone souls arrived, each blinded by his acceptance of power. On either side of the grand Yggdrasil Tree, the two men sensed each others' presence, but only recognized as foes. Their powers conflicted, and thus, they would, as well. The one tainted with darkness was overcome with rage, loathing the light that was wielded by the other. Sensing his opponent's determination, the warrior of light drew his sword, but did not make a move. Silently each man stood, awaiting the action of the other.

Finally, an attack.

Both men sprung into action. The sparks thrown from the clashing of their swords introduced color to the desaturated landscape. Neither man could make out the form of his opponent; the pure essence of light and darkness was too powerful.

With each blow struck, the world seemed to gain one more shred of color. Reaching down to the most primal of oppositions, the positive and the negative, the fighters unleashed their powers without limitation. Attacks were parried, blades made contact, but with each swing, each fighter gained only fatigue.

It seemed as though the sun would set on this struggle, although the battle paled in comparison to the eternal balance of the elements they represented.

The movement slowed, the power drained, and their forms became visible. Slowly at first, each man eventually could see who his true opponent was. Upon realization, both fighters stayed their hands. They examined their surroundings and found that the world was rich with color once more. Ryan and Liberare released their swords, and with weary eyes, they took a moment to revel in the beauty of their home world. It hadn't been that long since they had left, but neither had seen a world so devoid of life.

It was made apparent, before their very eyes, that each world truly needed a balance of Light and Darkness. Only when the two are equal, in agreement, could a world flourish and grow.

But alas, the two fighters were not meant to linger in this world, as evidenced by the portals which opened up beneath each man's feet. As silent as their arrival had been, their departure was equally placid. Each man vanished to continue his journey, unknowing where he may end up next.

((Uh, positive and negative I think...))

He wished he were in his car again. At least it was safer there than in this interrogation room the Bishops called a parlor. Jeimuzu was staring him down, and Jim was gripping the armrests on the chair like a convict in the electric chair, swallowing and sweating as if someone just caught him drowning a baby. If it weren’t for the slightly constipated look on his face, his symptoms and tenseness were not unlike the way he was during one of his and Brolyn’s more intense--

“Rh-rhm.” He had to clear his throat to clear his wandering mind for fear that Mr. Bishop’s darkening glare meant he could somehow read Jim’s mind. He doubted Jeimuzu would appreciate his less than holy thoughts about his precious daughter.

Jim attempted a grin through his nervousness, as if that would place him in Jeimuzu’s good graces. Yeah right. Jim was her boyfriend, and boyfriends have dicks. And hormones. And semen. Almost nothing could get Jim back in his good graces. Jeimuzu liked the boy better (barely) when he was still small and thought Brolyn had cooties. Jeimuzu had no qualms whatsoever if every single potential suitor thought his daughter had cooties. It would make living his life much easier. Elaine would probably object to that, however, as having grandchildren the natural way would be a little difficult since Rathalos, their workaholic son, obviously couldn’t give her any.

Back to the boy at hand. Jim did not enjoy the silence, but wasn’t sure if he’d fare better with questions. Technically, he was waiting for Brolyn to Finish. Getting. Ready. (insert annoyed grimace) but he knew what this was. Jeimuzu probably told her to take her sweet little time (“But don’t spend too much time on your appearance. You know you really don’t need that junk, sweetie, your face is fine….”) to stall for time. Time he can spend torturing Poor Little (not little!!) Jim.

“So….” Jeimuzu began. Jim swallowed and straightened up a bit. “I hear you’ll be taking her to a movie.”

Inwardly Jim was in a full panic. ‘Oh please don’t make me say it, please don’t make me say it…!!!’

“…What will you be watching?” he asked lightly. Jim wanted to die. He cleared his throat first.

“Uh-” he caught himself. He felt like he was in his first job interview, trying not to use “uh” and “um” too much.
“Well,” he began again, “it’s a… it’s a romantic comedy.” ‘Nice,’ he thought weakly. It was just too bad lying was not an option around the Bishop. Any Bishop, really.

“’Zack and Miri Make a Porno’,” Jeimuzu said. He took distinct joy at watching Jim flinch slightly when he relayed the title of the movie loud and clear, taking emphasis on the last word.
“I hardly classify that as romantic.” At least Jim felt enough humility to briefly look away.

“My friend would probably disagree with you.” Jim stated quietly. He wasn’t even thinking when he said it, but as the saying goes, “A bird that you set free may be caught again, but a word that escapes your lips will not return.” *

Jeimuzu’s eyes flashed briefly. He spoke; “Well now, it’s a good thing I am speaking with you and not John, then, isn’t it, Jim?”

“Y-yes.” ‘Shit!’ thought Jim. “You stumbled! You cannotstumble!’ He didn’t like the smirk that overcame Jeimuzu’s face.

“Do you like the decorum?” Jeimuzu asked. Jim’s mind blanked out a bit at the random question and sudden change in tone, but when he viewed Jeimuzu’s hand raise and span out in a motion to indicate the room, Jim took the invitation and looked around the parlor. His eyes stopped at a certain “wall ornament”.

“Yes, I am most proud of my sharp-shooting accomplishments.” Jeimuzu said fluidly. Jim gulped visibly, and his perspiration became more prominent. “…I practice at least once a week.” Jeimuzu said, and he had a ball watching that one sink in.

“How was your weekend?” the Bishop clan head asked, and just as Jim opened his mouth and took in a breath to reply, he cut him off.

“That’s very nice. I spent mine helping my wife out in the yard. And you know, the funniest thing happened. One of my shovels broke, so I went out to the store to replace it. I still have yet to break it in, and I’m just waiting for a chance to do so. Isn’t that grand, Jim?” Jeimuzu had on the evilest half-grin Jim had ever seen.

Sharp shooting awards. A shovel. The threat was very clear. Jim didn’t trust his voice, knowing it’d break, so he simply gave a firm nod.

The silence stretched. And stretched. And stretched. Jim wondered if maybe he’d have to holes in his forehead from the force of Jeimuzu’s burning glare on his face.

But then, (wonderfully, amazingly, brilliantly) the sound of footsteps rushing down the stairs sent heavenly joyous relief flowing inside his ears, flooding throughout his soul, and flowing out his sense. Brolyn was finally ready, and he never appreciated her presence more than he did now. Truly, surely, Brolyn must’ve been his angel in disguise (a rather fetching disguise). It couldn’t have been more clear.

Jim stood immediately and rushed to her side. “Ready?” he asked impatiently.

“Hello to you too, Dobe.” Ever with her sarcastic charm. She rolled her eyes but smirked anyway, standing on her tiptoes to peck Jim’s cheek in way of greeting. Jim didn’t fail to notice the twitch of Jeimuzu‘s eye.
Brolyn walked over to her father and gave him the same treatment.

“Bye, Dad!” and she was out the door with Jim hot on her heels. Knowing he’d regret it, Jim risked a look back and what he saw put the cold steel fist of fear clamping back over his heart. Jeimuzu, with a darker glare than what he sported before, mouthed the words “New Shovel.”

The squeal of tire on asphalt was the only sound heard in the entire neighborhood exactly .02 seconds after Jim received his final warning.
-x-
“Daddy didn’t bother you too much, did he?” Brolyn asked as she changed the radio station. Jim’s taste in music was simply atrocious.

Jim looked at her, one hand on the wheel, and promptly answered with all the conviction he had in his being.
“Your father is the devil.”
