So it looks like Sonic Rush may have a sequel at long last, headed for the DS. Not much is confirmed at the moment, but I found this article on IGN. There's some screenshots as well.

Alongside the standard run-very-fast platforming action we've come to expect from Sonic titles, Rush Adventure also sees Sonic hopping into the driver's seat of several different water-based vehicles, including a submarine, hovercraft and water bike. What's more, as well as gathering rings while sailing along, Sonic must perform tricks, torch pirate boats and engage in fierce ship-to-ship battles.

Levels continue the pirate theme, so Sonic must run through an ominous ghost ship, pirate villages and a vast underwater cave while bouncing on the heads of robots, skeleton warriors, pterodactyls and a robotic triceratops.

Alongside the game's single-player mode, SEGA is also promising multiplayer action via DS Download Play and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, enabling players to compete in races and mission-based battles.

Sonic Rush Adventure is being developed by SEGA Studios and is scheduled for release this Autumn.

Well, good news? Bad news? Sonic Rush was a great game, no doubts about that. I only hope Sega can do a good job on this one if it really is coming to be. Sonic battling pirates though? Meh... I wonder if Blaze is going to appear. Captain Whiskers... rofl, funniest name ever. xD

And Sega has an official page about it so it looks pretty legit.

O_o That seems a little weird. Ah well, a game's a game, and hopefully it's a good game like Sonic Rush was. XD Sonic's being surprisingly cool surrounded by all that water~

EDIT: Oh, and while my sister was looking at a british Sonic fan site... http://www.sonicstadium.org/sonicnews/288/ Not only is Blaze gonna be in it, but a new racoon character as well! Can't wait to find out more about this racoon girl, heck, maybe when there is more info on her, I will have her appear in a sprite comic I am planning.

Not that I don't enjoy those, but for me... a Rush game feels like it would have something missing if Blaze wasn't in it. ^^; That's just me though. Though another new character? Jeez, Sega... Meh, who knows? She may turn out to be cool, like Silver did. EDIT: According to TSS, the image is real. The admin got a phone call from Sega telling him to take it down. If it were a hoax, Sega may have either ignored it or told him it was a hoax. Apparently, Sega of Japan didn't give it the go ahead when SOE put it on their site, so they had to take it down. =/ So yep, Blaze and racoon girl look like they're gonna be in it.

Apparently it's going to have Wi-Fi connection... If so, KA-CHING!! Anyway, this game looks very interesting. I enjoyed the first one, so I'll most likely enjoy this one.
