Death Note is an anime, that keeps you guessing.


The main story of the anime revolves around a very smart High-school honor student named Light Yagami.


Light Yagami though a high-school honor student resents crime and corruption that is going on in the world.

Light's life changes one day when a mysterious notebook called "Death Note", falls from the sky.

The Death Note's instructions claim that if a human's name is written within it, that person shall die, at first Light just thought the "Death Note" was a fake, but after used it to kill two criminals, his thoughts changed and he is forced to admit the "Death Note" is real.

After a while Light meets the shinigami (Death God) named Ryuk, the previous owner of Light's "Death Note".

Light then seeks to "Become the God of the New world" by using the "Death Note" to pass judgment on Criminals.


But soon after a number of inexplicable deaths of reported criminals gets the attention of the International Police Organization and a detective known to everyone as "L".


L quickly learns of the killer dubbed by everyone as "Kira" (Kira is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the word "Killer"), is somewhere in Japan, L also knows that Kira can kill people without laying a finger on them.

Now because of this Light (who is "Kira") knows L will be his greatest enemy, and a psychological game cat and mouse between the two begins.
