Title: [Semi useless poll] Have you ever "converted"...
Description: ...someone into a "Splatterfan"?

I was just wondering, myself, if your love, for this sick, twisted series of games put together by a bunch of sick, twisted game designers at Namco, has ever influenced someone to get into this sick, twisted and fucking sweet series themselves.
It happened to me, without even trying.
I put the Lost in Translation articles up at Ácido Cinza, and people really loved the articles. But out of that, I already had three people say they gave the games a try and became fans of the series because of the articles. :D One, that had admittedly became a "hardcore" fan after that.
So, anyone have such stories as well? I'm figuring Rob might.

....Well, my nephews and I LIVED on SH 2 & 3 (we didn't have 1) back in the day, and their fervant love of the series spun directly from my feverish adoration for it.
Now, my 12 year old niece recently got a Wii, and the first game she downloaded, at my urging, was Splatterhouse. Moreover, I borrowed her my copy of the October PLAY magazine to scan some pages, and she never gave it back.
Coincidence?!?!

The worse case scenario is that she decided to destroy the magazine because you urged her to get a game she didn't want. :lol
My sister is a Resident Evil freak. Though she doesnt have an interest in SH. : /

Well, if it's relatives we're talkin'...
My brother and I played the FUCK out of 2 and 3 via emulation as soon as Mega Drive emulators were working - matter of fact I took over right after where my brother left off in SH2, just to see the ending :lol. I remember I went to sleep rather late one night and he had went much earlier, so 4 hours into my sleep I started having nightmares and then was woken up to Deathnoids shrieking at the PC room.
"LOWER THE FUCKING VOLUME!"
"GO TO SLEEP EARLIER!"
Good times. :lol
He is a bit of a horror freak (much more so back in the day, when he tried to weave a chronology that included EVERY SINGLE Friday the 13th movie into it - it was before Jason X, any case), he's a huge fan of most zombie catalcysm movies (he didn't give Fulcci's a try, though. "These are too gross even for me!" :lol), and when I visited him at his new city I talked to him about the Lost in Translation articles that I was doing at the time.
He so didn't drop the Splatterball as he was aware of Wanpaku Graffitti, a game we never played when we were on our original SH craze and still lived together. A horror movie site did a feature on the series and mentioned it. He was like "It looks kinda childish. Maybe stupid even". I said "Not Splatterhouse's finest hour, but it deserves more credit than what you're gvin' it". I honestly think the Thriller and Alien parodies would more than enough sell him into the game.

You know, I can't think of anyone I've personally converted into a Splatterfan. I'm sure some have gotten into the series after browsing WM, but no one that I know became a fan at my urging. *shrug*

I don't know if I've 'Converted' anyone, but I've definitely introduced a few people to it. In fact, me and a group of friends where on a trip a couple of years back, and I took my modded Xbox complete with emulators disc, and had everyone sat around the big TV in the main room of the Chalet, enthralled with Splatterhouse 2.

Yes, I got my best friend into it when I first got hold of Splatterhouse 2 on the Mega Drive (or should say, rented, then it was stolen and we stole it off the people who stole it :lol). When I got hold of Splatterhouse 3 back in the day, by means I can't really discuss on here (I think, well it wasn't exactly legal anyway), I got a few more of my friends interested in it.
