Thanks.

Her eyes were two different colors, but neither was red. Whenever you take a picture of a cat using a flash, or shine a light into a cats eyes in the dark, they will reflect light... with a camera you get really bad "red eye".. it is cause of the cats 'nightvision'... Only one eye on Ghost would do that... I guess she only had the nightvision in the one eye. So whenever I took a picture of her I always got that one red eye Terminator look.

I have to say though, that so far in my life, putting Ghost into the pet carrier to take her to the vet for the last time was probably the hardest thing I have had to do. I have had pets die before, but this was the first time I have had to take one to be put to sleep myself. Even though it was for the best seeing as how she couldn't eat, go to the bathroom or hardly walk... I still felt like I let her down.

You know what was really heart wrenching about the whole thing? After the give her the sedative that knocks her out, they give her an injection of stuff that does the deed... it took 3 shots of that stuff to do it, her heart just would not stop beating. That was the part that really got Kelly.

When Max finally passes away (which is hopefully many many years away) I'll probably require sedation and a possible straight jacket.

Just read up a little bit on Henrietta Lacks. She died in 1951 from Cervical Cancer but just before she died, some cells were taken from her. Those mutated cells are still growing and dividing by themselves today. That's fucking creepy.

Sounds like a movie plot.

Heh, I can definitely relate to the pain of losing a pet. It hasn't happened recently mind you, because I was very young, but now more than ever am I able to relate to the love for a pet. We've had our cat for one year, and I love her so much. She's a really good inspiration, when I'm feeling down she always cheers me up. And if someone bothers her it pisses me right off.

I'll be honest, even I cried when I read about what had happened, even though it probably isn't my place. I couldn't help it.

They're bombing near the Ocala National Forest again. I can feel the impacts and hear them from here. They have a practice range out there somewhere.

Yes. Every job or promotion interview. Tough to make up a plan for that but every time I do it seems "not exactly here but with the same dynamics" comes to mind.

I used to live up there and dated a girl who lived in the forest. I remember back in the '80s when a bomb missed the range a bit and the charred remains of a few acres of leveled forest were clearly visible from the road...on both sides. :eek It wasn't much different from the destruction of the wildfires of the late '90s.
