Namco's claim: Splatterhouse WILL sell 1 million!

Somehow I also expect this game to be a bestseller, considering 90% other games are puked out by society like the sims, need for speeds, fifa's, medal of honors, quakes, call of duties, battlefields... no one not even the gamers are interested in those titles. But Splatterhouse hasn't been renewed for a real long time, so when this title comes out, something quite unique is for sale. Something a lot of lamers want.

I'm even going to buy an XBOX or PS3 just for Splatterhouse (when it's out I'll see if there is any difference like gfx quality and then decide which gameconsole to buy)

And maybe if it does well we'll have more high profile metal bands working on part 2- Slayer, Opeth, Megadeth- can you IMAGINE!?

They seem a little overzealous. I don't think they'll be selling too many units for Dead to Rights or Clash of the Titans. I haven't even heard of the other two.

It's good to see they have such faith in their games to sell that much. I refuse to make any such predictions, but will be watching for the final results.

I wish them the best on this goal. Let's just hope the media watchdogs don't rain down the fury of Heimdall upon the game for its rather grotesque content, and as a result, sales take a hit.

... though I'm not sure if that would be the case. I mean, just LOOK at the game. People who get it know what they're getting into, so I'm not sure if the opinions of Joey Jo Jo Jr. Shabadoo (somehow also known as Joseph Lieberman) will hurt sales for the target audience of SH. I'm likely overanalyzing this. :lol

it can sell one million. All the cool kids who know shit about Splatterhouse will probably still buy it just for the gore factor.

I don't really think they will sell that many since not many people care for that kind of music. Plus it all depends on the Controls of the character.

Hmmm, actualy lots and LOTS of people enjoy such music, particularly fans of violent horror spectacles. Regardless, you do make a good point; it's gotta play well, or people are gonna turn their back on the thing.

As much as I would like to see SH make the 1 mil mark. I don't know how likely it is. From the activity I see in relation to other games out there at least. For example on the Xbox.com forums I think there are a grand total of 6 topics in the games subforum. Not to mention any post I make on other forums I visit in relation to the game garner nearly no response.

I don't mean that to be a ding against the game there are a ton of overlooked games that are excellent out there (Alan Wake comes to mind) that sell far less than their quality would justify. Conversely alot of the shovelware that they peddle sells far more than they actually should. Guitar Hero and Rock Band are basically the same game every iteration and they sell like crack.

Personally; I hope it sells a mil plus if for no other reason than they are making the game and delivering the level of fan service I see. I appreciate that commitment to something that I have fond memories of. Either way 2010 is a happy year for me gaming wise. I get new Splatterhouse and finally a new NFS Hot Pursuit after years of waiting and watching that series devolve into a career street racer odyssey.

It looks now that Dr.West must have cooked up a tremendous batch of crack for namco to smoke and suggest 1mill sales lol.It is a shame when you see lesser games shift units and get sequels-some fans have waited nearly 2 decades for this sequel-but at least we got our wish-we got to enter West mansion 1 more time-had a blast doing it and i'm grateful for that.
