Hi folks,

I'm new to this site. Saw the tv feature on NPT tonight. Lots of memories...i was in 4 shows there.

Has anybody mentioned that Brion Ford died? He was TN Ernie Ford's son and I worked with him in CMUSA in '76. Great guy, very humble and kind. Of course, his voice was deep and melodious! RIP, Brion.

Hi Denverdan:

Yes, I definitely remember Brion. I was in the original 1973 Red cast of the My Country Show and Brion and I sang both High Noon and Amazing Grace together. He was a very special guy and I hated to miss his funeral service. In fact, we were in the same cast in '74 as well.

I found Brion Ford in my 1975 Opryland yearbook and Carol Elliot also in the "My Country Show" photographs. It was great that Opryland produced these yearbooks. Bill

There was a different side to Brion that many did not see. He and his father were not on speaking terms for years. I wonder in later years before Ernie died if they ever worked out their differences. Brion may have been nice to many, but inside he was bitter, hurt, and somewhat jaded by his dad's success and trying to follow in those footsteps. His dad was at odds with Brion's career for reasons I do not remember but I do remember there was a lot of ill feelings between the two. He definitely had his fathers voice.

yes, Brion did have issues with his Dad. Many, many sons have issues with their Dads. But I think it would be unfair to characterize Brion based on that. He was a great guy.

I didn't know Brion from Opryland. I worked with him at a hotel. I was a desk-clerk and he was the maintenance man. He was always very kind to me and I had a bit of a crush on him. I had not heard that he had passed away. So sorry.
