Description: Doctor.

Valkyri - May 10, 2010 01:50 AM (GMT)
Its two forty five the baby takes her first breath the mother never knew
she only had a few left and the father gets a call in the middle of the night his breath gets short.
She had been hiding on earth, the woman, the girl, the Waveform that she had met and of course Valkyri had felt an instant affinity with the woman. She knew what it was like to be on your own on a strange planet, with strange people, there weren't any more of her people around. There was something about her that made her want to cling to people like her, people who knew what that felt like in some weird way, she always found herself attracted to the other weird ones in the room. That wasn't anything strange even on her home planet she had been considered weird, her bright eyed comedic nature had been a little too well conveyed at the academy, she was the class clown, she was the one that got in to trouble all the time, she was the one that managed to get everyone else around her in trouble. Some things may have changed then again somethings never did! A hand fidgeted with a lose thread on her hoodie, she didn't know what to say or do, she hated being stuck someone she wanted to run back to her TARDIS, she wanted to run back to her daddies ship and cry to it. It was silly wasn't it, she talked to it like it was a human being, a best friend, it talked back to her so could feel its soul it was the one damn thing that she had constant in the hundred and fifty eight years she had a beating heart. Her father would have gone mental if he had found out half the stuff she had done since she had woken up, then again he went pretty much mental at everything she had done. Yet there was something that still haunted her, the way he kissed her forehead that day, she could hear his voice ringing in her ears; 'never change, never stop being you Valkyri. Never stop being just you.' Maybe she should stop because it appeared her was getting everyone in trouble. God damnit!

The room was cold, there was a little shiver up her spine though was it the room or her head she didn't really know. Glancing up she looked at the UNIT officers, ok she knew who they were, she knew what UNIT did she wasn't daft and right now the whole bat eyelashes, act innocent and pretend you have no idea about anything act was going very well. She blinked, ok so she had the whole thing down to an art the number of times she had pulled this on her parents and teachers was astronomical and the number of times they had bought it...well not so many times but enough to be considered a success strategy anyway. So she had her looks on her side, she looked innocent enough right, she had her height on her side as well at five foot three people thought she was younger than she was, they just saw a kid when they looked at her. She supposed some things never changed either she was still considered a near child back home anyway after all she hadn't graduated yet. She never would now.

“I've told you.” Valkyri said again, there was that little shake in her voice, ok she was shaken up by what happened she didn't want to talk about it she wanted to wash it out of her mind. It was horrific, violent and without a doubt one of the worst things she had ever seen in her life, she wanted to run to her daddy, she wanted a hug off him, she wanted him to make the big bad universe go away...that wasn't an option any more. She wanted her brothers to come and get her like when she had got stuck up a tree...why was everything so messed up. Valkyri was battling to try and keep her mind sane and this had just derailed all those efforts. “I don't know what happened!” The pitched made that little wobble more evident. “We were talking...and then she was dead,” glazed eyes struggled to comprehend why anyone would kill her, why anyone would kill another person. She was young, naïve, idealistic and starting to learn that the universe wasn't just beautiful that it was terrifying, that it was violent and horrible and bloody and all the things she had never wanted it to be. Yet everyone grew up didn't they, everyone had their misconceptions, their fairy tale imaginations and idealisms smashed to bits as they grew up, she was learning the hard way without a hand to hold.

For the first time in a while now she was scared, what happened if they never let her go. “I just want to go home.” Now that, that sounded just a little heart breaking, it was all she wanted, she wanted to go back to Galifrey hell she even wanted to go back to school. She wanted to sit in relativistic time mechanics and draw on her hand, she wanted to giggle with her friend, glare at the kid in her glass who was a goodie two shoes, all of that. All the whole damn lot she wanted it back! Her father was right when he told her you should be careful what you wished for because Valkyri had ended up with so much more than she had ever thought. “Let me go!” Her voice becoming ever more shrill she was starting to think she was gonna have to kick and scream her way out of here and she would do it. “I want a lawyer! You have to get me one! Its a right!” She has seen TV...she knew how this game went down.

The Doctor - May 10, 2010 02:21 AM (GMT)
The UNIT leader massaged her forehead as Val declared she didn't know what happened, "Let's try this again Val - the innocent thing isn't going to work with me. I remember that time you tried to enroll in one of the local high schools and ended up blowing the science lab into orbit - our agreement when we found out what you are was that you would be allowed to walk the streets of this world as LONG as you told us if you met a non-human or if you go hold of any information that could help UNIT," she gestured to the corpse lying in the other room, "And here we find you associating with a Lupine Waveform?! Her people are some of the most bloodthirsty-"

The way the girl shouted so violently at her - that her friend wasn't like that - made the UNIT leader cross her arms, "So you did know her?" she sighed, "You knew that Waveform Val - you at least SAW something, how else do you explain us finding you hiding in a dumpster a block away holding her jacket shouting I didn't see anything over and over?" pulling a seat up a few feet away from the girl the UNIT leader crossed her leg over the other and locked eyes with the child, "Now, you won't tell us your species - you won't tell us your homeworld or even how you ended up here... we covered that the last six times you visited and I've given it up,"

The UNIT leader shrugged, "All I know, is that you have a brain built like a spinal staircase - your synapses are capable of absorbing and transferring information WAY beyond the human brain. Your muscular structure and build are WAY beyond humans... I could go on but the point is that we know your not human and - just as last time - we don't care. What we DO care about is what happened to that woman - something is killing non-humans," handing Val a chart the woman continued, "A few weeks ago a man was slaughtered outside a bar - his stomach cut open in the same way as that waveform. And, he wasn't human... he was a Triskelean engineer - a race that investigated humanity at one time, but stopped about a hundred years ago... from what we gather he was a rogue, hunted by his people for one reason or another... just like, as you've said, your friend... which begs another question. What was she hiding from - added to HOW was she killed?"

When Val jumped up and shouted that she wanted a lawyer - that she had rights - the UNIT commander narrowed her eyes, "Those RIGHTS keep us from banging you in a cell and letting some of our scientists take you apart! It is ONLY through my intervention and the convincing of the few officials that KNOW about you that KEEPS that from happening," her voice turned icy, "Sit down Val, I like eyes at a level... Sit!" Val's butt met her chair with a thump just as the door opened. Turning her head the woman scowled as a silly looking man with a bow-tie looked around and grinned, "Ah this is it!" the woman got to her feet, "Excuse me what do you-"

Reaching into jacket the man yanked out a wallet with some sort of blank paper in the clear part and shoved it in the womans face, "Savvy?" the woman opened and shut her mouth a few times before swallowing, "I'm sorry sir I didn't..." snapping off a salute the woman scowled slightly when the man laughed - a light tinkling laugh that was infectious, and just gave her a peace sign, "New face, same rules though," the woman swallowed, "I see... what can I do-"

Suddenly the man pointed at her, "You, shut up," walking over to the chair in front of Val's the man took it and plunked his hiney in it, "Anyone sitting here? No? Good," scooting it towards Val the man looked into her eyes and grinned slowly, "Hello," the UNIT leader spoke, "Is there something I can-" the Doctor waved his hand at her, "Yes, tea - I'd love some tea, cream. No sugar - thank you," he turned his attention back to Val, "Hey..." slowly he reached out and took her hand, "Don't be afraid... their a little rough around the edges... they mean well," he smiled, "My name... is the Doctor,"

Valkyri - May 10, 2010 03:59 AM (GMT)
and his chest gets tight but she's sixteen and driving too fast takes a
turn to the left it would be her last, what would have happened if she turned to the right?
Trouble, Valkyri didn't want to deal with it, she just wanted to crawl in to a little hole and hide away from all of this but she had just been hiding here, she hadn't been doing anything bad so she hadn't felt the need to report the poor life form. Valkyri straightened her back and looked at the officer ok so she hadn't exactly held up her part of the deal but as far as she was concerned it only portrayed to dangerous aliens. She made a mistake didn't she, hanging her head her palm hit her forehead, oh god oh god she knew how this was going to go down now. There was nothing more she wanted to block it all out, hell it had been horrible, it was going to stay with her forever, she could still hear the screams in her head. If anything she wanted to go back to sleep forever, just sleep though the universe and one day it would end, all things would and she would be gone along with it. Home she just wanted to go home, why had they kept asking her about home, why did they keep bringing it all up she could understand that they wanted to know but could they not see what it did to her. “Its gone okay!” She yelled, she didn't mean to but this woman was pressing her buttons over and over again, there was only so much one person could take of that. “They're all gone, all of them okay so shut up about it!” Home she just wanted home was that really too much to ask for, yes it was you didn't get everything you wanted in life did you. Nope. Welcome to the real world kiddo!

Still something was killing and she had no idea what the hell it was, all she knew was that she never wanted to see it again, she was as coward so freaking what but that thing was terrifying. It reminded her of the monster she thought that she had under her bed when she was a little girl, and that time her father had climbed under her bed with her to show her there was nothing there but a dust bunnies and even then he got rid of it. Except this time it was real. She didn't bother to look at the chart just turned her head away. “I. Don't. Know.” Her voice was near cold trying so hard not to let the flurry of emotions running through her head get the better of her, she wanted to give it all up, she wanted to just leave. “We never talked about it, it isn't something that pops up in every day conversation is it? Oh why are you hiding so far away from home where your scared and where you know no where, where they would kill you from fear if they found out!” Her voice got slightly louder with every word, ok she was starting to get upset that they were digging in to her friends life. She was dead just let her memory remain clean for a few moments! She hadn't even been dead a day yet and they were already digging, did these people have no respect?

“I don't know!” She wasn't talking, loud her voice nearly echoed off the walls, it was the ice cold in her voice though that made her sit back down. It reminded her of her aunt, her mothers sister, the one that had slagged her off at every choice she had. That Valkyri was a disaster, that she was a disgrace, that she was stupid, that she wouldn't graduate and everything between. She was none of them just a bit different. Pushing herself back a little in the chair the idea of ending up an experiment really did scare the hell out of her, oh god she didn't want that to happen! Then there was another voice, her eyes snapped towards the man. Strange man but never the less everything was a bit strange...her eyes flickered between the two of them. What the hell was going on here she looked like she had just swallowed a fly...and now this man was trying to be all nice to her. Ok so Valkyri had a hard time trusting anyone in this room right now. Then she heard the name.

The colour drained from her face, she had heard that name before, she had heard it in whispers with people talking, when the 'adults' had talk business around the house. She knew what he was, it was the way she looked at him, stunned almost as if she couldn't quite believe what the hell was going on. She didn't know what the hell she should say to her, she swallowed hard for a moment biting her lip wanting to smack him away. He couldn't be real. “I don't see how autopsying me is meaning well.” Valkyri didn't really know what to say to him, but she supposed that he had given her his name so she had to give hers back. “I'm Valkyri.” Ok so it was a weird ass name damn her parents, mind you her real name was big long and freaking awkward, damn them even more. Bloody culture and all that crap why couldn't they just deal with the fact that bigger was no better, had Time Lords never heard of the phrase Occams razor?

The Doctor - May 10, 2010 04:34 AM (GMT)
When Val said that autopsying her hadn't sounded like meaning well the Doctor raised an eyebrow at the UNIT leader who opened her mouth - scowling when he snorted and returned his attention to Val, "When you spend a lot of time protecting a lot of stupid people... you end up stupid," he smiled softly, slowly (without her noticing) he let his hand work into hers, "You can understand though... huh? Daleks invading? Planets in the sky? Giant eyeballs flying all over the city?" he grinned, "That'd make anyone panic," taking Val's other hand the Doctor focused on her, "I heard you panicked a little too... huh?"

The Doctor nodded sadly, "I'm very sorry about Rishkara... I helped her hide here some years ago, many of her people are bloodthirsty but she was a rogue - she bonded with her host and created a new person. The little girl was dying of cancer... Rishkara had a chance to grow up and live in safety," the Doctor sighed, "At least I thought she had..." he looked away, "I also knew the Triskele... a few years ago there was an attack made by a race of plastic men called the Autons on a planet many lightyears away from here. He broke away from his people and helped my... predecessor save the planet. Unfortunately... the Autons poisoned that world. I guess... I guess he just never forgave himself,"

Keeping her hands in his the Doctor swallowed, "I'm sorry Val... I'm really very very sorry... but these beings had lives, sad and hopeless as they were they had them. Until those lives were taken away... please, can you help me? I want to take you back - back to the attack... if you'll let me- no don't pull away. It won't hurt... let me," reaching out slowly the Doctor placed one of his hands on the left side of her head and then his other hand on the right side of her head, "Please, let me see... contact," with a 'rush' Val was suddenly standing in the same alleyway where her friend had been killed. Putting his hand on her shoulder the Doctor looked at her sadly, "I'm sorry... but I have to see,"

As they watched the Doctor could see Val and a tall thin brown-haired young woman walking out of a night club - the brown-haired one seemed drunk, she was singing in some language that was completely un-Terran. The Doctor managed a smile when she spotted the moon, climbed on top of a trash can and started to howl, "She had a wild streak... it must have been so hard to suppress... oh," as they watched a shadow-figure lept down from the roof above the trash can - grabbing the Rishkara by the waist and throwing Val into the wall behind her. As the Doctor watched Rishkara started to scream - claws formed from the armored creatures fists and he began to... to tear into her.

Suddenly the whole area went back as the Doctor saw Val - the real Val - turn her back, "No please! Don't stop - I have to see!" coming around to face her the Doctor swallowed, "Please, this is very important - I need to see, I can help you - I can help her. PLEASE! Let me see!" watching as Val - the real Val - looked up and the 'world' came back into focus the Doctor winced as Rishkara's screams turned into gurgles and then faded completely. Watching as the Val in the memory crawled over to her friend - taking the jacket she'd been wearing in her arms - the Doctor winced as the creature back-handed Val, sent her spinning away with the jacket in her hands and let out a howl of his own as Val broke off in a run.

When the whole thing faded to black and Val fell to her knees crying the Doctor let out a shout, "No... no no no no no! That can't be... bring it back! I can't see - Val didn't you..." watching her wrap her arms around herself and shiver as she wept on the floor the Doctor swallowed, "It's alright... shh, it's not your fault, come on - let me bring you-" suddenly the Doctor opened his eyes and smiled when he saw Val's face a few inches from his own. They were 'back' in the observation room - back in their chairs - and the Doctor smiled sadly, brushing a tear that had formed on his cheek, "Back... I'm sorry, emotions, you can never trust who ends up with them in something like that,"

Swallowing the Doctor leaned back in his chair and examined Val, "Val... Blimey, I'm sorry you had to see that... even worse, relive it. But I promise you - I swear, we'll find the person that did that. I promise," tapping his chin the Doctor nodded, "In fact... I think you can help me," the Doctor tapped the side of his skull, "See, I'm a time lord - formerly a Gallifreyan. And as a Gallifreyan you have innate powers that allow you to 'see' things that people can't see... maybe even better than an mop-head like me," leaning in close the Doctor grinned, "Tell me... have you ever heard of a psychic imprint?"

Valkyri - May 10, 2010 03:32 PM (GMT)
nobody in the car wouldn't have died that night but he's thirty two and
invincible with everything he is based on principal the cancer he had was visceral no one saw it coming.
He was sorry was he? Everyone was sorry but that didn't change what had happened to her, how could anything have done that, how could anything have ever been so cruel and heartless. Valkyri shook her head and looked down at her knees, she didn't want to look at The Doctor, she didn't want to look at anyone right now. She wanted to go back to her TARDIS, she wanted to curl up and pretend the universe wasn't real. Of course she had panicked, she shouldn't have, she should have done more, she should have been able to do something, help do something anything anything at all! Then she shouldn't, she hadn't known what to do, just stood there looking so lost and scared. “I shouldn't have panicked.” Her voice sounded small compared to the room, Valkyri had never known much about the Waveforms past she hadn't asked. She didn't like people asking about her past so she didn't ask about anyone else's that was a fair trade wasn't it? “I should have done something, I should have saved her.” There was so much she should have done, but you couldn't expect a kid to stand there and be able to work miracles, she expected too much of herself. As much as she cared about the woman that had been her friend she didn't want to hear about her past, she didn't want to know about mistakes or events or heart breaks she didn't take someones past in to account when she got to know them. You couldn't judge people on their pasts, all that mattered were the people they were now, that was it.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, she didn't believe everything he was saying, more because she didn't really want to acknowledge any of this, she didn't want to talk about it let alone admit that it even happened. Taking a deep breath she looked at him, she had a life, she had friends, she had plans and hopes and dreams who was it to take all of that away. “We were gonna go to Paris together....” Valkyri explained, she had never told her what she rally was, that she could travel through time and space, she just wanted a friend who thought that she was normal. “We were gonna fly I've never been on a plane before we thought it would be fun.” Strange how aliens found such simple every day things like flying and trains interesting, it was strange for the both of them to imagine air transport and how things took time, in their worlds things like that were instant. It was a strange comment completely out of context but she wasn't listening to him anymore her mind was wondering from one place to the next and all over and back again. Swallowing she looked at him as she felt his touch, jolting away slightly she knew exactly what he was going to od and she really was not up for it.

Yet he had to see didn't he, she was shaking, the hairs on her arm stood up on end, she didn't want to see all this again she could feel her heart racing in her chest. Oh god it was dark, everything felt horrible even the air seemed wrong and Valkyri really didn't want to see her again, she had been a stunning woman, brown hair pretty eyes and tall...she was always jealous of tall people. Back home she had always joked that if she ever got to regenerate she wanted to be taller...but that wasn't going to happen now, she had never graduated she wasn't going to live indefinitely any more and she was out to enjoy the time she had left not sit here and be reminded of the horrible things that had happened in her life. She didn't want to see, she couldn't see all of this all over again, she was trying as hard to block it all out but the truth was telepathic abilities had never been what she was great in, she never really had been any good with it and he won, everyone else always won when it came to it. She could feel it all over again, the fear, the pain, the worry, the loss squeezing her chest tightly as it attempted to strangle her all over again.

She choked back tears, trying her best to keep them down, trying her best to make it all go away and it wasn't, she didn't realise that she was crying, that her skin had gone clammy again, the shake in her body was involuntary and then...it was all there. The screaming, the blood, the chaos inside her head. She just didn't know what to do. Utter confusion and fear, Valkyri had never felt anything like that before in her reality short life compared to The Doctor. Red lines down her cheeks she managed to push him away, haphazardly stumbling tears down her pale skin made her look younger than she was, or maybe it was the fear in her eyes. She didn't like this any more, she just wanted to go home she wanted her mother and father, this was the first time in her life she had faced fear without having something to run back to. This was really the first time in her entire life she had felt truly alone. That was something big.

“I know what...who you are.” Quiet voice, oh so unlike her, after all the hair matched her personality a little too well, they had called her Red at school...she never really worked out if it was from the hair or her personality. Reaching forward slowly she sat her hand on his chest. Two hearts. He was...but he couldn't be, he couldn't be they were all gone, there was a little gasp as she snapped her hand back and looked at him as if he had just grown another head. “You can't be. They are dead, they all died, the war took all of them.” At least it took the people that mattered to her. “...My parents used to talk about you.” There had been once where her father had yelled at her if she wasn't careful she would end up stripped of her name too at this rate, but then again she was never one for doing things easily was she. A trouble maker, but really she just had too much time on her hands and not enough interest in the things they said she should. “I've heard about it...but...but you can't be here.” He was meant to be dead!

The Doctor - May 10, 2010 11:58 PM (GMT)
Listening as Val said that she shouldn't have panicked the Doctor shook his head - bringing his hand against her cheek so that she'd look at him, "Oh... your so young, don't blame yourself for living. That's the worst thing you can do... she'd blame you for hating the life you still have, don't you think? I told you - I knew Rishkara... she was an honorable woman, very ancient when she bonded with her host," he smiled, "She hated not being able to achieve full wolf form anymore - it was strange to see this little girl using childish words like biggerer to describe herself. The mergance that went on in their minds..."

The Doctor sighed, "You can't blame yourself Valkyri..." when she mentioned Paris the Doctor grinned, "Lovely, aliens in Paris... were you and she... sorry," he blushed slightly, "That was rude - I'm still getting used to this... anyway, yeah lovely - flying through the sky. You ever try a bus? Those things are hilarious - all those smells, and if your a telepath all those emotions and thoughts... just lovely," when she looked away he reached out to touch the side of her temple, "Valkyri... val, I'm sorry... I'm very very very sorry, but I have to see - I have to start somewhere,"

When she let him into her mind he felt her emotions almost overwhelm him - she was so young. What little training and powers she had overwhelmed everything she did - Gallifreyans were very emotional people when they were young. Viscous, hormonal... they often acted without thinking and were difficult to control. To be deprived of the very infrastructure that would have helped her develop the emotional control to reign in those hormones and powers... he remembered, from so long ago, what Susan had been like at that age. When she hadn't 'meshed' with the Time Lord and Gallifreyan education system and her parents were to put her in a special institution... he'd saved her from that. This child in front of him... she was like Susan, so brilliant and powerful. But with no control... and so alone.

Feeling her grip tighten the Doctor realized that memories - just as thoughts - were open to anyone. Closing the door in his mind when the link broke the Doctor wiped at his cheek and raised an eyebrow when she told him she knew who he was, "No surprise, I'm sure I'm all the rage back where YOU come from," he said, chuckling lightly as he got to his feet - but was stopped when Val grabbed his collar and put her hand against his chest, "Yes... I'm what you would have become, I'm a time lord... the Time Lord I guess you could say. I'm the Doctor - one time president of Gallifrey... and her destroyer," the UNIT leader looked at the Doctor and Val in surprise, "She... she's a Time Lord?!"

The Doctor shook his head, "No, she's Gallifreyan... she's what a Time Lord should be, what we give up," when Val said this wasn't possible the Doctor smiled sadly, "You'd be surprised what's possible when I'm involved," he took her hand and helped her stand up, "A small pocket of our people survived... we are still the last of our kind, the gene-pool is too small," he sighed, "No future... but we have a life," he swallowed, "I... don't go much in for what now passes for our 'home' but... if you help me - if you help Rishkara or whatever name she took on this world - I will take you there, I will take you to whatever passes for your home,"

When she said this was impossible - that he couldn't be here - the Doctor knelt down to eye-level wit her, "I'm here... this is real, everything you see is happening right now. I promise you... I know that... with your unstable abilities thoughts and emotions and memories that aren't your own sometimes end up inside your head. I promise you... this is real," when she looked away he took her hand, "PLEASE! Believe me... I promise you, I am real - THIS is real, please... believe me," slowly a grin split his face, "I'm the Doctor,"

Valkyri - May 11, 2010 05:44 PM (GMT)
he never saw it coming but he had his own life got sick in the morning
and he died that night, we're wasted no no no we're all wasted.

She did blame herself though, she was her friend she should have done something she should have protected her, she should have done so much more than she had been able to do. Never the less that was Valkyri always expecting more of herself than she could ever have given, everyone had expected great things of her, of course there had been pressure on her shoulders to do well at the academy. There always had been and in the eyes of her people there always will be, she'd be expected to live up to her parents, her mother and father both presidential advisor's and members of the inner council. She had always known from a small child she had been expected to do something similar make the family proud and all that crap and she had done the exact opposite she couldn't live up to her parents or her brothers, so she didn't try, she just went wild. Her personality was too loud, too bright, too yearning for something else to ever be able to settle for a life like that.

He wasn't sorry though, he was just saying it to ease his guilt, and yet she understood you did have to start somewhere he wanted to know what was going and he wanted to learn what had happened to his friend. Valkyri didn't. She didn't want to know ever seeing the whole damn thing was worse enough, she didn't want to know the details of how it had happened and what she had been through. The emotions were enough to let her know what had happened would live with her forever, something no one at her age wanted, she walked around with enough demons, with the abandonment complex that affected every action she took. The loss of her own people, the fact that she was alone, that all the people that mattered were gone. It was the overwhelming loneliness that got her now. There was no one left in this universe to defend her, for all the things she had done wrong in her life her family had always defended her. Her mother had fought for her, her father may have yelled at her for being an idiot half the time but he still fought for her. The days they had always told everyone that she could do idiotic things but she wasn't an idiot, that she was smart it was just misdirected. They were right but who was left to do that for her now? Who was left to come and get her, hug her when she needed it. There was no one and Valkyri couldn't process that thought in her head enough to understand or make sense of it...so it just ate away at her insides. Day after day she lost a little part of herself every time she opened her eyes to the empty world.

All the rage was not the words she would have been used “rather a warning.” She told him honestly, he was the example of what would happen to her if she had kept down the rebellious path, the example of how she would be kicked off planet etc etc. She hadn't cared much at that point in her life, it seemed almost ironic that now that had happened she wanted the past back, it was true what they said you never missed anything until it was too late. Galifrey was destroyed before The Doctor came along she had started to see it fall in the last days of the war as it edged ever closer to home. As families fell apart, as their culture and ways started to go out the window. She didn't want her planet back, she wanted everything back, the planet was nothing without 'home.' Yet a few of them had survived, slightly wide eyed she looked at him, trying to pick out any evidence of lies but he was right they had lives but no future. That was the depressing thing, she was young and in her mind she had all these plans about things she was gonna do none of them was ever going to happen. At the age she was at, to learn you had no future was soul destroying.

If she helped, that was the thing she didn't want to go home, it wasn't home, sure it was a childish view on it all but she was pretty much just a child to their people. “I'll help you.” She said quietly... “but I'm not going back...its not home...they're gone....my mum, dad, my brothers they're all gone fighting in the war there is no home to go back to, there never will be.” Yet again childish but who could blame her, you try waking up one day to find your entire universe dead then turn around and tell her to grow up. At least no one had pulled that card out on her yet that was the plus side right? She was standing, he had kneel to be eye level with her, ok she was five foot three not her fault she blamed whoever she had been loomed from, bloody short genes. Thanks for that whoever you were! Did they not check that crap? Oh apparently it was 'unethical' what was unethical was being a five foot three red head! This was real, thats what he kept saying and she knew it was, she knew the difference between reality and the world inside her head that didn't mean that she wanted to acknowledge it!

That was the thing she knew she was unstable, she knew that she what it entailed she wanted justice, but she didn't want to have to face the pain it would take to get it. Yet her friend deserved that, she should be doing it to help her friend...she had to do it. Swallowing she looked at him, her eyes glanced down at his hand and hers before she nodded her head. “The war...did...did the Time Lords take the Daleks with them.” If they had survived and her people were practically all gone, it was all for nothing, it was all in vein, her brothers had fought for nothing. If there was just one of them the universe wasn't safe, she knew what they did, she had heard the stories at night when she had sat up listing to her parents and other counsel members in the house talking in hushed voices not wanting to scare her. She remembered her father holding her crying mother as her brothers were sent off the front line to fight, they all knew they would never be coming back. It had been a good bye and not a farewell. Was it all for nothing? Valkyri honestly didn't think she could even cope with the answer but she had to ask, it was impulse and nature to want to know. You couldn't fight that.

The Doctor - May 11, 2010 11:52 PM (GMT)
The UNIT officer chimed in there - having had her fill with being ignored and requiring information for her superiors she stepped between Val and the Doctor, "Look, sir I really-" the Doctor scowled at her, "Listen, I know what I'm doing alright? Ask ANY Unit commander that's dealt with me - they'll tell you I am a mad man with a box who will cause more chaos and anarchy than ANY alien has a right to... and I can be trusted completely," the woman scowled, "You haven't even told me how-" the Doctor threw his hands up in the air, "I monitor UNIT communications alright? I helped build it - I have an interest in it,"

The UNIT leader gaped at him, "Those communications are pri-" the Doctor threw his hands in the air, "Oh for the love... look I knew that Triskele engineer, a right dirty old man he was too. But blimey a better chess player you'll never meet. I've only ever been beaten by a robot - he's the first humanoid to pull it off," he jabbed a finger at his chest, "I've PROTECTED UNIT and this planet more times then even your files know, I KNEW these people, I'm here because I'm needed - and that's all you need to know,"

Shoving the woman aside the Doctor knelt down so that he was eye level with Valkyrie again. He remembered doing this with Susan whenever she was angry or upset, back before she got taller than his first self. He sighed, keeping his eyes locked with hers - not trying to patronize her but to make sure she was paying attention to him, "I was brought here by the weird UNIT reports - halfway here I was called by another old friend, a retired female Terileptil bounty hunter. She told me that she knew who'd killed the Triskele Engineer. But when I tried to find her she vanished - and the next thing I knew your friend was dead,"

The Doctor held up his hands, "Take my hands, with your help I can track her mental imprint. It's usually how two Time Lords track down another Time Lord if he or she is missing or lost," he smirked, "Spend enough time on the third moon of Bogden with those purple monks and you pick up a few other tricks," when she stopped him - telling him that she would help but that she wasn't going home - the Doctor shrugged, "Your choice... don't decide yet though, after all... wounds heal all time... something like that,"

As he was about to establish the link with her mind she interrupted again - asking if the Daleks had been destroyed, and he nodded, "We weren't just at war with the Daleks... they just started it. The Cybermen... the Gelth... the Nightmare King... the Shadow Horde. They were locked away... taken by the Time Lords... as for the Daleks..." opening his mouth and then closing it a few times the Doctor smirked, "Their like us, scattered... leaderless... fragmented. No future... just life," he gave her hand a squeeze, "All the more reason to go home... if they gain any new footing... well, someone will have to stop them,"

Before she could object the Doctor locked his mind with hers and grinned, "Feels weird doesn't it?" 'walking' through and almost transparent vortex the Doctor smiled as he took her hand, "That's right... focus on the energy - see all those lights? Focus on them, examine all of them... one is out of place... something that shouldn't be there - notice EVERYTHING," fading away the Doctor came back into focus as he 'hovered' above a particularly bright swirling red light, "See all those little blue dots... those are around this red one. But why is it red? Why does it stick out... hm... and whats this..." tracing his finger along the red line the Doctor grinned, "Oh... there's another..."

Suddenly the vortex faded and the doctor looked down at his other hand - during the link his body had 'written' a number of squiggles and lines on a pad of paper, "Ah," letting go of Val the Doctor picked up the pad triumphantly, "Our answer!" taking the pad the UNIT commander looked confused, "It's... it's just a bunch of lines and doodles and... HOW is this going to help us?!" grabbing the pad the Doctor blew on it, "These SQUIGGLES are old high gallifreyan, the ancient language of my people,"

Bringing out another large piece of paper the Doctor read the 'squiggles' and after a few seconds had drawn a huge outline of the city on the small paper... with a line leading from where they were. To the warehouse district on the far side of the town, "Oh look! Totters lane! I LOVE that place!" the UNIT commander snatched up that map and laughed, "Totters lane?! They tore that place down years ago - built a car garage over it," the Doctor seemed to sulk for a minute, "A car garage? A CAR garage?!" jumping to his feet the Doctor stomped his foot, "I can't... those... oh!" stomping towards the door he jerked it open, stomped out and slammed it behind him.

Reappearing about a minute later the Doctor cleared his throat, "Aliens... right, I'll uh... later- my contact the uh... the bounty hunter. She'll be there - something else... I'll see you guys after I-" the UNIT commander shook her head, "No chance Doctor - you're not going there alone, Lieutenant!" opening the left-most door the soldier outside poked his head inside, "Ma'am?" the UNIT Commander nodded, "We've got our target," the Doctor held up his hands, "Look I should probably just-" which was about when Val chimed in and the Doctor waved his hands in the air, "Hey hello? Yes? Hey! No wait you all are not... HEY!"

Valkyri - May 14, 2010 05:47 PM (GMT)
He's seven years old got his bat in his hand hes looking for his father
but he's too busy he's got some deals on the way he sits alone watching the children play.

This UNIT person Valkyri did not like already she narrowed her eyes at her when she started interrupting. “will you shut up!” She snapped, her increasing distress with the situation was starting to show, “jeez you people are rude.” She was just as rude not that it mattered, well not so much as rude ok that was a bit too far, cheeky! He helped build this place well it appeared to her as if it had gone sour, she was pretty sure that all of this was not what he had planned then again humans had a quality that meant they screwed shit up to put it bluntly. She didn't understand what the hell was going on really, she hadn't even finished her education it was like throwing a kid half way through high school out in to the universe on their own. They might be able to survive but they didn't have the knowledge or emotional maturity to really live on their own. The ability to fully understand the hard choices they had to make and that nativity that masked danger from her mind. Then she took a breath, she was losing interest in hearing them bicker away there was something more important going on here, honestly humans were so caught up in the little things they never really realised what the hell was going on. There was something bigger than them in this universe then them when were they ever going to see that, god they were endearing bur frustrating at the same time.

So he had been trying to stop it, by this point she was tired, her head hurt she had a headache from before from the tears and the emotion, fighting against this was just something she didn't want to do, she didn't want to stand and yell and bitch anymore she just wanted to get out of here. That and she wanted a cheeseburger but first things first. He held his hands up and she looked at him, thinking mulling over her words she wanted the person who did this caught as much as he did in fact even more but at the same time the whole idea scared the shit out of her. There was a moment of awkward silence as she thought, the thoughts going around and around in her head she had let him in once already and look how that had ended up, it had gone to shit and here he was expecting her to do it again. Ok it wasn't the same thing she was well aware of that but the idea alone was too close for comfort. The time war was more complicated than she had thought, everyone had suffered, there were so many beings locked away in the time lock, she could feed it in the universe, any time sensitive being could. It was like putting a volcano away behind closed doors. You could feel the earthquakes and the shock waves through the universe you just couldn't see it. You could never touch it, you could never get to it just the constant shifting of the universe around it as time passed on beyond the confines of the lock leaving it behind.

How was a fragmented race all the more reason to go home, it just meant she would have to make more friends, be in more trouble, in the eyes of Time Lords she had never done a thing right, she didn't miss her people she missed her family there was a massive difference. It was strange she was just different that was all and yet she was the same, too different to fit and not enough to be ignored and cast out, it was a strange place to be stuck in the middle and Valkyri didn't like it, at least out here she didn't have them telling her how bad she was at everything. That almost settled it then she was going to stay here, stay in the universe and just wonder because at least here she wasn't going to be surrounded by reminders of yesterday all the damn time. However the arsehole caught her off guarded, though it wasn't like last time there wasn't the rush of pain, the fear and all the emotion no it just kinda felt a bit strange not much. She wrinkled her nose when he asked if it felt weird. “No shit.” She mumbled quietly to herself but she did as she was told, she just wanted it over with, she wanted to get the hell out of here it seemed like every time she bumped in to something remotely linked to home everything went tits up. Thanks for that universe.

What the hell all this meant she didn't know, she just had a rather confused and some what lost look on her face as she wondered through whatever the hell this was she was gonna need a drink after this. Oh finally it stopped he had his answer, now he had better her her the hell out of here, he had better get her as far away from this place as she can get, like hell she was ever coming back to London again. Freaking pile of trouble that it was wasn't worth this, I mean all they had was a big ass wheel beside a river. Though she was starting to get bitter now, she was just in a bad mood then the stupid bitch insulted High Galifreyan...oh my, she glared at the woman again as The Doctor let rip and there was just a little bit of a smirk across her lips, well she disliked the woman it wasn't as if it was the first time they had met on bad terms. “You know generally if someones going to hurt insulting their culture really isn't going to win you any points, just a little hint.” Her voice was laced with venomous sarcasm, she didn't like the woman and she was making it very clear, well at least she wasn't two faced.

He was leaving, oh like hell he was! “You are not leaving me here!” Valkyri snapped angry, after all the help she had given him like hell he was leaving her here! “You are not leaving me here with her!” She pointed at the UNIT dumbass before glaring at The Doctor, ok she was scared that much was evident, she didn't want to be left in the room with her, she would start asking questions again, she would start asking about her home world and she wasn't ready for that at the moment. She started to follow him, he wasn't leaving without her, she had been her friend too right she had a right to know, well she was going down that road if it meant that he got out of here! “I'm not staying here.” Now it sounded more like a cross between a childish whine and a beg. If he left her here she was going to make damn sure he regretted it, oh the joys of being an over emotional adolescent at the age of hundred and fifty eight. Her race sucked sometimes.

The Doctor - May 14, 2010 09:28 PM (GMT)
The Doctor sighed as he headed out to the garage at the far end of the UNIT compound. With all of them yelling and following him - Val shouting at the UNIT commander and the UNIT commander shouting at Val and the soldiers that had gathered shouting at each other the Doctor growled.

Climbing on top of a jeep under the night sky the Doctor pointed his sonic screwdriver straight up and grinned like a little boy when it let out the most ear-piercing squeal you will ever hear. Watching as the humans covered their ears and Val started to swear at him the Doctor just crossed his eyes and made a funny face until they were all quiet, "Now then, blimey, how you all doin tonight huh?" with a loud 'crash' a satellite came plumetting out of the sky and slammed into the road behind the crowd. The Doctors eyes widened as he examined his sonic screwdriver, "Really need to learn to aim better..." slowly the Doctor cleared his throat, "Alright, here's the deal, Val - your with me," he turned to face the UNIT commander, "Katherine, you're also with me... conditionally,"

The UNIT commander - Katherine - looked confused, "How did you learn-" the Doctor tossed her the wallet that she'd had in her own pockets a few minutes earlier, "Yeah, sorry about that. You might want to take that picture of your husband and the whip out of-" Katherine stuffed the wallet back in her blouse, "DOCTOR!" he grinned, "Anyway, you and your little friends can come along as well - but no guns, pistols and sidearms only. And then... only one to a customer," grabbing Val's hand the Doctor pulled her up into the Jeep, "I'm not going to bother telling you no guns at all... you'd never listen, at least I can control how many you have,"

Watching as Val plopped down in one of the seats of the jeep the Doctor offered Katherine his hand, "Do we have a deal?" glaring at his hand Katherine didn't say a word as she came around to the side of the jeep and sat down in the drivers place, "Mount up!" sitting down in the back seat - with Val curled up in the seat next to Katherine - the Doctor clapped his hands, "Onward mighty stallion!" when both of the women looked at him like he was an idiot the Doctor shrugged, "Just an expression," and with that the carivan of UNIT vehicles were off, "So Val, where do you live?" the Doctor asked as they rumbled onto the highway, "Is it a nice place? Maybe a flat? I had a flat once... I remember when I had to move out, really tore me up - I actually said 'goodbye little flat' when I took the last box out,"

Glancing at Val, Katherine shook her head, "I guess those reports about him never shutting up were valid," she muttered to the red head as the Doctor continued to chatter in the back of the jeep, "Don't suppose I could drive back? I haven't driven a jeep since that incident with the robot... I had more hair then - and god! What a nose..." feeling the Jeep jerk around the corner as it pulled towards the warehouse district the Doctor clapped his hands, "Alright then, time to save the world," sliding out of the jeep he took Val's hand and grinned like little boy, "You're gonna love this," taking a few steps along the graveled drive that led to the ramshackle old warehouse the Doctor watched as the other UNIT vehicles pulled up.

"Cidra! Oh CIIIIIDRAAAA! COME OUT AND... oh wait..." looking confused for a second the Doctor grinned when he saw a tall regal looking woman step out of the shadows, "Doctor," looking at her long purple dress the Doctor snickered, "You never did master native fashion did you Cidra? That's an evening gown," the woman shrugged, "It suits my purposes," the Doctor grinned, "Come on Cidra, drop the holoshroud and give us a hug," slowly the woman smiled. Pressing the pad on her watch she popped her knuckles as she shifted back into her true form.

Looking at the lithe scaled being standing a few feet away from him - her purple scales glistening in the moon light as her red eyes twinkled from the light of the UNIT soldiers flash-lights the Doctor grinned, "Meet my number one Terileptil friend Val, Cidra - Cidra? This is Val," wrapping the scaley alien in a hug the Doctor grinned at her, "So what brings an old codger like you out to the boondocks?"

Valkyri - May 15, 2010 10:30 PM (GMT)
And she's eighteen and couldn't wait to move out her parents didn't understad
what the rush was all about they never bothered with her dreams only thinking of theirs.
Ok so she was on her way out of here, she was pissed off, she had helped and now he was going to just leave her here. Ok maybe he wasn't Valkyri had an abandonment complex, hell her whole family just died she was allowed to react wasn't she? She had snapped at a couple of people before turning and looking up at The Doctor, he had climbed up on the Jeep ok why had he done that? She would rather be trying to talk to him, find out what he was on about but the woman just kept going on and on and on at her. God did these people never shut up, for the love of...There was this horrific noise, it cut through the air like a needle at the speed of light, at least that was what it felt like in her brain. She covered her ears, oh my god, what the hell and where the hell was it coming from. It took a few moments for her to figure out it was a sonic device, sorry she was a bit slow but her head hurt and now it felt like she was going to puke. “Turn that fucking thing off!” She yelled at him, sounding less than impressed, oh god she was gonna throw up! Then the face...oh that was it he was in so much trouble when she got a hold of him, so much bloody trouble! He stopped, she uncovered her ears, rubbing her head, oh god she never wanted to that noise again. “I think I'm gonna be sick.” Valkyri said flatly but you couldn't tell she had the complexion of a ghost to start with. She simply blinked at the crash she glanced behind her then back at The Doctor, there was just a little snicker, ok that was quite funny. “You had better hope that wasn't American or Obama will have you.” Valkyri explained, awesome man, plus he was pretty good at making speeches that was all she really cared about to be honest, politics she tried to stay very far away from. She had enough of that back home.

A squeal that nearly matched the sonic noise a few moments ago escaped from the midget red head as he said that she could come. Ok so she was getting caught up in his whole over the top excitement laced with danger act but it was in her blood too. She was young, she was adventurous, idealistic and everything in between being stuck somewhere like this was doing her head in. At the mention of the photo she smirked, another little snicker accompanied by that somewhat amused look on her face. Ok so they were similar, she was throwing herself head first in to adventure to forget, to block out the memories of what she had done or rather had not done. Yet very different at the same time. Taking his hand she got in, glancing at him she rolled her eyes before laughing slightly, oh the joys of puns, he was pretty funny she wasn't going to tell him that though. After all he appeared to have a pretty big ego like hell she was going to feed it any more! Smiling to herself but it was wiped off her face when he started asking her questions. She wasn't really meant to be off planet never mind attempting to pilot a TARDIS, ok she couldn't even park the damn arse things never mind fly it! “Eh...my...I don't really...” She was trying “I woke up in my dads TARDIS...kinda been bumming around from place to place in there since then.” There was this horrible look for a moment as if he had just punched her in the gut, it was hard to live in there, it was hard to be in their shadows all the time. Then again she had always been in the shadow of her family, the black sheep in a family of high ranking officials, hell even her brothers were interns at the council. She was the one that ran riot around the place. “ You probably knew him, he was judge to the presidents court.” She stated, she couldn't bring herself to say his name.

Another smirk, she looked at the woman, there was still resentment but she wasn't going to start a fight right here right now. “You should hear what they say about him back home.” It took a moment before she realised what tense she had used. Ok so she hadn't accepted that it was gone. She didn't trust him to drive back but she kept her mouth shut anyway, she was gonna be pleasant from now on wasn't she...nah! That had never been Valkyrik, she wasn't one for keeping her mouth shut ever. “I'll walk back in that case.” She expressed her point of view in that lovely blank tone that she had mastered so well. He was going to save the world wasn't he just a bit cocky, oh they were right back home he certainly was a piece of work wasn't he! Taking her hand he helped her out, she had to jump down, ok so being five foot three inches tall wasn't a great thing in life! She was sure that she was going to love this, part of her hoped her tripped over his shoe laces, so far he was being kinda awesome and yet so very annoying at the same time. Then again she had a love hate relationship with most people, everything annoyed her at some point in time.

He was calling for someone, she just stood there for a few moments watching what was going on, ok so she was a bit rough for a time lady to be, she was a bit too bitchy, bit too wild, bit too free spirited to follow the rules. Of course that didn't mean that she had no idea on when to keep her freaking mouth shut! True forms, she liked them, after all this wasn't the first alien she had met, she had been wondering the universe for a while now, she had bumped in to some strange things, waving she gave the...alien a gentle smile. Hey, I'm Valkyri.” she didn't really like referring to herself as Val she wasn't sure that the shortening of an already shorting was really a great idea then again her whole name was massive. Why couldn't they have come up with simple names for the love of all that was time sound. She was waiting, for The Doctor to bring everything up, to bring up the fact that you know everything and everyone was dying and all that shit. Keeping quiet which was a first she looked at the other women, the UNIT lady and half smiled, ok so the fact that she wasn't phased by this alien was the sealing signature that she wasn't human.

Sighing she slipped her hands in to her jeans pockets. “Don't look so scared.” She advised. Well tried to comfort. “Not everyone in the universe is out to kill humans believe it or not.” God they acted like depressed teenagers 'omfg the whole universe hates me waaah waaah they are all out to kill us.' Someone call the waambulence.

The Doctor - May 16, 2010 12:34 AM (GMT)
Glancing at Val when she said that he better hope that the satellite wasn't owned by America or Obama the Doctor smirked, "Lovely man that president - when he has the right face. America functions as a part of UNIT, UNIT stands for UNITED NATIONS INTELLIGENCE TASK force, so it'll come out of the tax payers pocket... gotta love democracy - or is that democrazy?" the Doctor's grin widened when the red head showed some actual joy - looking like an actual child for a minute when he told her she could come along and she clambered up into the jeep. As they drove along the Doctor listened to her explain about how she 'woke up' in her TARDIS on Earth, "Woke up? Hmmm... why Earth? I mean, given the cultures and times he could have chosen you'd have thought-"

The Doctor snapped his fingers, "Oh of course... genetic compatibility, reasonable life-span intelligence... go with the nearest Gallifreyan-compatible gene sequence," he glanced at Val, "He didn't expect you to come home did he? You were to make a life for yourself here... WERE, being the operative term," listening as she said her fathers TARDIS just landed her he grinned, "Ah, I get it -temporally and tectonically locked... sort of a galactic Yo-Yo, you can't leave," when she said he probably knew her - mentioned him being a judge at the Presidents court, the Doctor snorted, "Yes well, I've known a lot of judges,"

Listening as Katherine snickered at what Val said over the Doctor's reputation back home the Time Lord scowled, "I'll have you know that was nothing but a misunderstanding - and by the way," he said as the jeep drove to a stop and the Doctor hopped out, "I've driven everything from a space cruiser to a train to a car to an ocean liner... alright, maybe the last one wasn't such a good idea," he leveled a finger at Val, "NEVER start a conga line when you're supposed to be watching out for giant ice cubes," clicking his tongue against his teeth the Doctor tucked his hands in his pockets and headed towards the warehouse.

When the Terileptil female came out of the warehouse and shut down her holo-shroud the Doctor grinned as Val introduced herself - ignoring the introduction he'd made - and Katherine stood behind Val almost like a statue, "On... on behalf of the United Nations Intelligence Task force... I... I uh..." the Terileptil looked confused, glancing at Val and then the Doctor, "What is this... this I-uh? It is a designation?" the Doctor grinned, "More like the lack of one... you didn't answer my question Cidra" she shrugged lamely, "Nothing to say... I contacted you but I was... delayed," the Doctor, fingering the sonic screwdriver in his pocket, began to circle around Cidra, "Delayed by what Cidra? Oh by the way, I heard about your clutch world... I'm sorry, I thought that the Autons wouldn't have been able to do that much damage,"

The Terileptil kept the Doctor in focus at all times, "It is... regrettable, but hardly your fault Doctor. We turned them away... you were not to know what the explosives they had hidden there would do to our world," the Doctor licked his lips, "What delayed you though? Your son? Your daughter? What happened to your family?" the Terileptil shrugged, her eyes still on the Doctor, "Slaughtered, all slaughtered," the Doctor raised an eyebrow, "It's ironic... all those people that have been killed, they were there - freedom fighters that tried to prevent the Auton Invasion. All people I knew and helped relocate... almost like someone is hunting down the people that were around or near those final days of your clutch-world,"

The Doctor snapped his fingers, "It's very convenient isn't it Val? This world... a low-level planet. Protected by the code of the Shadow Proclamation... perfect place to stage several murders by anyone who knows how often I visit this planet," suddenly Cidra's eyes began to blaze red and she unsheathed her claws, "If you have a deceleration to make Doctor, then I suggest you do so... otherwise you had better be prepared to retract those words of yours," the Doctor made 'claws' of his own with his fingers and stuck out his tongue, "Blah! You know perfectly well-" suddenly Katherine's hand was out of her pocket and a gun was pointed at the Tereleptil's head, "Back... down,"

Cidra glanced at the woman and made a hissing sound, "Guns! You bring GUNS Doctor?! I would have thought better," the Doctor put his hand over Katherine's mouth, "Don't mind her, she's a nutter, Cidra I make a deceleration but not against-" Katherine pushed the Doctor's hand away, "No more foolishness Doctor! Soldiers!" suddenly machine guns were produced - pulled out of the racks hidden in the jeeps, "What?! You swore-" Katherine ignored the Doctor, "Ready? Take aim!" the rifles were cocked and "You do not know what you tamper with... woman!" suddenly Cidra's hide was covered in a thick metal armor and the minute the weapons opened fire she was gone in a flurry of motion.

Suddenly the far wall behind the Doctor and Val was ripped open and a huge metal-clad creature with gigantic claws came flying towards the place where Cidra had been a minute before. Slicing the guts of three soldiers open the metal-clad creature kicked Katherine in the back, shoved the Doctor to the ground and bounded into the building after Cidra, "What in hell-" the Doctor, clambering to his feet, let out a growl as he glared at Katherine, "Idiot! Why didn't you let me handle it?! There was another being hidden inside the warehouse - it's HUNTING her! It's HUNTING all these creatures!" Katherine swallowed as she slowly sat up, "But those declerations you were making..."

The Doctor stamped his foot, "Were about ANOTHER Terileptil! Someone she knew!" yanking his sonic screwdriver out the Doctor pointed it at the warehouse doors, "Lets go Val, you too Katherine... tell your boys to PLEASE try and hit the right one - if they'll listen," grabbing Val's hand the Doctor bounded over the crate in front of the warehouse and pulled her inside, "We've got to find them first... spread out your senses - can you feel them anywhere?"

Valkyri - May 19, 2010 02:34 AM (GMT)
they wonder why she doesn't call and why she doesn't care but shes
thirty two and invincible with everything she is based on principal.
Another roll of the eyes, his bad puns were bad, really bad but so bad they were funny. “Bet the tax payers are real happy about that.” She commented lightly before sighing for a moment, oh he was driving her crazy already like a really irritating person or something. She still remembered just waking up, so lost and confused about what the hell was going on. Earth, she liked it, she blended in, she didn't look that different to them. Her dad had thought well, but for once maybe the doctor was wrong, she shook her head looking at him, there was no lock on her TARDIS she could go anywhere she wanted to, any time, any place...she just didn't really want to go. Earth felt safe, it was a home away from home if you wish. “No.” She said simply, there was still some of that childlike innocence in her, that was what her father had been counting on. Valkyri shook her head a little bit but she didn't get why he had thought that in the first place “I can go anywhere...any time.” She glanced between the doctor and the UNIT lady before shrugging. “I just...didn't know where to go...I like it here, humans look the same...they don't know me, not like home where everyone knew me.” Then she looked at the Doctor, little lost soul in the big bad world all on her own and so unsure of what to do. “I go away sometimes, I like a little holiday everyone does, always seem to end up back here though...Freedom doesn't seem as fun anymore with nothing to be free from.” That was strange and yet it made sense, the nearest thing she had to a home now was earth as horrifyingly painful that was to her own mind.

She was one for talking about driving, Valkyri couldn't drive at all, hell she couldn't fly her own TARDIS now, it was strange thinking it was hers, that it had been left to her, she had almost grown up in it. She had a bond with it, she liked that, sometimes she just sat in her TARDIS thinking to herself, something safe about the presence it had in her mind. She sang to herself in there, it listened to her pain, her heart break, the sadness and the conflicted thoughts in her head. The raised finger got her attention, there was a little smirk on her features for a moment before she shook her head. The was mental and yet it was kinda refreshing, she liked the fact that there was someone who just understood the pain and yet him being there was a reminder in itself, it was a reminder that there was so much that had been lost, that would never be, that would never come back. Valkyri didn't understand why it had all happened, why her people had fallen, yet every species had their wars, it was instinct in life itself, an inherent quality. They're species was no different.

Still the issue that hand had to be dealt with, to be honest she kinda felt a bit like a third wheel she didn't have a use here, she just didn't want to stay at the UNIT base, it scared her. She had lived through one war and she wouldn't be sticking around on earth long enough to see another no matter the participants. Things were starting to come out though, she was glancing between the two of them, she had to agree with The Doctor, ok she was young but she was smart, but she wasn't like most Galifreyans her intelligence lay in people, she could read them, figure them out, she was intuitive and she was very very good at working out plans. Sure her maths and science wasn't up to Time Lord scratch though that was more the fact she had never managed to finish her studies. The people stuff, that was pure intuition, pure inherent ability that she had managed to work out on her own, that was the similarity between herself and humans. Maybe that was why she was so drawn to them. Glancing at the Doctor she raised an eyebrow. “Sounds like someone wants your attention Doctor” She said

Then of course the violence came, her own species were violent, but they didn't leap before thinking, of course they were scared they were like terrified little kids, you rattled the cadge and they lashed out. Still she didn't think that she was meant to be ….then all hell broke loose. Ther was a squeal from Valkyri as she hit the decks so to speak ok so she was pretty freaking out by this entire thing, she didn't really know what to do, she didn't know what the hell was going on! There was metal everywhere, the next thing she knew there was quiet as she stumbled to her feet the Doctor grabbed her hand. She tripped a little as they rushed over, her other hand just grazed the ground, enough contact to steady herself to get into the damn warehouse. Spinning around she looked around the place, it was bare there was just nothing, there was just empty in here she didn't know what the hell she was looking for. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes for a moment, she didn't know what to look for, just anything that was different, just something, anything, like searing for something to eat in the cupboard when you didn't know what you wanted to eat.

Her eyes snapped open, she looked at The Doctor, “that way...there's something that way.” She told him bluntly, she hated using her head though she hated having to do that. It was just strange, she hadn't learnt it yet, like trying to force a child to understand adult concepts, it just wasn't comfortable. It was ok she was a later bloomer so to speak, she was growing up a bit out of order that was fine. There was just no one there to tell her that.

The Doctor - May 21, 2010 04:58 AM (GMT)
When the Doctor was half-way through the warehouse door and Val was trying to track his friend the Doctor winced as he heard the soldiers screaming and dying, "Oh... blast me for a fool! spinning around the Doctor ran back outside. Watching as the armored creature scythed down soldier after soldier the Doctor shouted, "Get inside... get INSIDE!" and then the Doctor ran in front of the monsters path, tossing Val his sonic screwdriver he then yanked off his coat and began to shake it in front of the creature, "Come on then! Come on! Me! TAKE ME!" when the armored creature lunged for him the Doctor jammed his coat down over the creatures eyes and spun around, "Get INSIDE!" making a run towards warehouse the soldiers, many of them bleeding and wounded, did just as the Doctor told them.

"Val! Help the more wounded get inside!" keeping himself in front of the creature the Doctor spread his arms as the creature struggled to get the Doctor's coat off his head, "Come on then you big bad bullock... come on then! Here I am - prime choice of Time Lord meat! You KNOW you want it!" suddenly the Doctor let out a shout when his coat was sent flying back at him. The Doctor managed to let out a grunt before he was hefted up and thrown towards and then through the open warehouse doors. Landing with a slam against the crate the Doctor managed to sit up weakly as the creature started to stalk the UNIT soldiers to weak to go further than a few feet inside the warehouse... but that's not what the Doctor was watching.

He shook his head, "No..." as he watched Katherine and her lieutenant could be seen attempting to jury-rig the door-closing hatchway, "Get... get back," he whispered huskily as he attempted to get to his feet, "Katherine!" realizing that the creature had seen her and was running towards her Katherine reacted quickly. Shoving her lieutenant through the doors Katherine spun around to face the creature... slamming her elbow into the door locking mechanism and using her own body to complete the circuit just as the creature slammed his claws into her stomach. Suddenly the creature and Katherine were bathed with electricity - sparking and arcing off of their bodies Katherine managed to scream as her elbow and her own body was used to complete the circuit that began to close the doors.

The creature let out a howl as it backed away - smoking and in pain from the electricity that had been pumped through it - it vanished back into the shadows as Katherine collapsed to the ground. Limping over to the door the Doctor grabbed Katherine's smoldering arm - what was left of it - and pulled her through the crack created by the warehouse door just as they finished slamming shut, "Katherine..." her whole body was twitching in a spasm of pain as every nerve felt like it was on fire - her left eye had been 'boiled' and was a milky white while the other was a blood-red shade from the vessels that had burst. Most of her hair had already smoldered but by and large the only real way to tell she had been hurt... was the gaping hole in the middle of her stomach.

Swallowing the Doctor checked her pulse and gasped when she grabbed him with her one remaining hand, "I'm sorry... Doctor! I- I- I- I- I- I- d- d- d- d-didn't under-under-under...stand," swallowing Katherine looked at him plaintively, "I- I- I- I- w- w- w- w- wanted t- t- t- t- to mmmmmmeet you s- s- s- s- so bbbbbadly," the Doctor looked pained as he tried to cover her mouth so that he could get a look at her wounds, "Shh... it's not your fault... you met me didn't you? I'm the Doctor... I save people, you'll be fine... Katherine, you'll be fine. I promise," she didn't seem to hear him as her eyes began to close, "I- I- I- I- l-l-l-let you d- d- d- d- d- down... ffffforgive me, please d- d- d- d- doctor... I'm sorry,"

The Doctor looked like he'd been kicked in the stomach as the woman's hand went limp and she breathed her last breath, "It wasn't your fault..." most of the UNIT med-techs that had survived were busy with those that 'could' be saved... but as far as the Doctor was concerned he was alone in here. Swallowing slowly the Doctor got to his feet. Looking at his coat - laying on the floor a few feet away - the Doctor picked it up and began to pull it on. Hearing a 'beep' sound he glanced at Val as she offered him his screwdriver. Looking at it sadly the Doctor took it and then stuffed it into his pocket, a look of cold rage passed over his face as he adjusted his tie, "Over there? You said you can pick it up over there?" nodding at Val the Doctor marched in the direction Val had attempted to point out earlier.

As he walked the lights in the warehouse began to come on, "No more games, no more darkness... alright Cidra - what now? Huh? Who else gets to die? You keep bringing me to you - you keep making me find you and MORE people get killed... well WHO ELSE?!" hearing a groan from the rafters the Doctor sniffed, "Whose hunting you Cidra? Cidra! Who else has to die before-" suddenly a soft voice called out from nowhere, "I did no kill that woman... I did not wish her death," looking around the Doctor glanced at Val in the hopes that she could pinpoint the Tereleptil. Being on her first life the young woman's powers were more stable than his... if anyone here could 'pin point' the Tereleptil woman it would have been Val, "Well neither did I Cidra... the question now is... what do we do about that?"

Valkyri - May 22, 2010 12:07 AM (GMT)
She never had a truly happy moment in her life he didn't want the kids
and he didn't want his wife, we're wasted, we're all wasted.

The screaming pierced her hears, it screamed through the air, she could feel the air shiver around her at the scream and it sent the hairs on the back of her neck standing up. Spinning around she looked for where the noise was coming from, she winced she couldn't look at it, she couldn't watch what was happening, how the hell was all of this happening. In less than a few hours she had gone from laughing while walking down the street to this, to a massacrer, her father had been right, this world was horrific. It was beautiful but horrific then again you always had to pay the price didn't you, nothing in this world was free and the privilege of freedom came at a price. You saw the best but at the same time you saw the worst of the universe. She just caught the sonic screwdriver just before it was too late, she hadn't been paying attention and had caught them out the corner of her eye then well...caught them. He was yelling at the monster, what the hell was he doing, the man was mad, freaking hilarious but mad! She watched him wide eyed for the moment. What on earth? Still holding the sonic screwdriver in her hand she froze up, chaos and death and she had no idea what the hell to do! The Doctor snapped her out of it though, she looked at him one last time before stuffing the sonic screwdriver in her pocket and legging it over and helping people in.

The scene was some what hilarious, there was this little five foot high little kid trying to help wounded soldiers one of them even made a crack about it...she had laughed slightly, one of those nervous scared laughs, they could all see it. She could tell they were all thinking this was no place for what looked like a teenage girl, they had no idea how old she really was...and how young she really was. This was nothing for her to see, she shouldn't have to see something like this, she had seen so many things at her age that she shouldn't have. She had watched the TARDIS screen trying to scan for her planet to see its rubble remains floating around a time lock. She had sat there staring at pictures of her happy family looking at the rubble. This was worse though, this was in her face and this was going to stay with her forever, slowly but surely her little ideologies about the world were being shattered one by one.

There was a flash, a bag, and the soldier she had been helping grabbed her hoodie and dragged her down to the floor forcefully, she blinked, covering her eyes, the light was bright and she couldn't make out what the hell had just happened. She had been too busy helping to keep track of what The Doctor had been up to and what had been going on, swallowing she stood up slowly, dusting herself off and spotting them...oh god no. No more. No more! Taking a deep breath it caught in her chest, they had been talking just ten minutes ago, they had been talking in the car, they had been joking, she had been yelling at her a few hours ago...and now she was. Valkyri took a deep breath, taking a few steps closer to them, oh god it was horrible...and...how the hell did all this happen. She swallowed again, biting back tears literally, she bit her lip but it didn't help much. Her hand went back in to her pocket and held out his sonic screwdriver, she just ignored the fact there were tears ago, there was something more important and The Doctor didn't look pleased. He looked like he was upset, crossed with anger it was an expression that crossed her face a lot though in a very different context all together.

Another little nod and she started to follow The Doctor off in the direction she had pointed. Valkyri struggled to keep up with him. He was taller than her and therefore could walk faster, way faster than her, hell she almost broke in to a jog to keep side on with him. Stopping she gave him that puzzled look as he spoke to what looked like nothing, there was a groan though...and it prompted a squeal from her lips. Out of sheer instinct she grabbed the sleeve of his shirt, ok she was terrified, ok her father was right he was trouble, The Doctor took serious trouble with him everywhere that he went and she was now caught in the middle of it. She was scared, it radiated off her like a neon light, and he was pissed off she could just feel it in the air, there was something about her species, she didn't know if it was some latent telepathic ability that was embedded with in them or something else but you could just feel it. Never made sense to it, she didn't think it ever would now.

The looked at her, she blinked, oh god her head hurt even more now, she blinked a couple of times, rubbed her forehead as she looked around, trying her damn hardest trying to figure out where it was. It kept moving though, as soon as she got a hold of it...it had moved. Like it knew it was being looked for and she knew that was probably true, though truth was it probably didn't know how it was being looked for – big difference there. Turning around slowly the harder she tried, the more her head hurt but the more accurately she seemed to get it down, then something dawned on her, something horrible... “its circling us.” She told The Doctor quietly, her voice not even a whisper, for his ears only right now she didn't trust anyone else here, why, purely because he was her own race, it was pure racism she knew but right now she didn't give a shit.

“Would now be a bad time to tell you I think it might have heard you...”

The Doctor - May 22, 2010 03:10 AM (GMT)
Listening as Val finally got a 'lock' on Cidra the Doctor nodded... his eyes widening slightly when he realized that she'd also managed to pinpoint the killer as well. Slowly smiling at her the Doctor took her hand. Looking into the young woman's eyes the Doctor nodded, "You're brilliant... your going to be alright, we all are..." an almost fierce look came over his face, "This ends... now," turning around the Doctor pointed his sonic screwdriver at the ceiling. With a 'thunk' the roof began to slide back - the bright blue light of the moon slicing down through the darkness... illuminating Cidra sitting up in the left-most rafters, the various wounded soldiers lying on the floor... and the black-armored creature now running along the roof-supports towards the Doctor.

Grabbing Val's hand the Doctor began to pull her back with him, "Doctor!" Cidra shouted, now attempting to keep up with the Doctor and Val, "Doctor are you-" the Doctor, keeping Val behind him. Locked his eyes on the attacker now closing in on them, "Oh I'm fine - I'm fantastic, I'm bristling full of ideas... idea number one," the creature grabbed onto one of the support-beams and slid towards the floor, "Any armor worn by any creature has a central release catch... idea number two," the creature unsheathed his claws as he began to bare down on the Doctor and Val, "You've been trying to find me because you knew that this... being is in possession of armor that even your claws can't pierce, idea number three,"

Pointing his sonic screwdriver straight at the creature the Doctor's grip on Val's hand tightened as his face broke into a grin, "If your as clever as me, then you know how to find the right frequency... bingo," suddenly the black-armor worn by the creature began to retract - by the time he was withing slashing distance his form had been revealed as that of another tereleptil... one covered in dark blue scales with bright orange eyes. Realizing he was uncovered the creature didn't seem to care as he lunged at the Doctor... only to let out a howl when Cidra threw herself from the rafters towards the younger Tereleptil.

Within a matter of seconds the larger armored Tereleptil had the blue alien pinned to the ground - her claws at his throat - when the Doctor shouted, "Cidra!" he shook his head, "The war is over... NO more killing," glaring at him Cidra hissed, "My race Doctor... my rules, this... abomination hunted me, surely I have the right to kill my own attacker?" the Doctor shook his head, "No, you don't even know-" the Tereleptil growled at him, "My son! He is my son!"

The Doctor's eyes widened as Cidra pushed her claws further into her son's throat, "Cidra no! He's your kid - your clutch is gone! He's all that's left! You can't just-" the blue Tereleptil hissed at him, "She is NOT my mother! She LOST that right... it is why I seek to kill her NOW!" Cidra roared at him, "Silence!" he returned the growl, "You... you LET the autons onto our world! They brought their wounded - an infant Nestine! You LET them into our hospital - they SLAUGHTERED the infant, then they killed YOUR daughter in law! My wife! My CHILD! You and your Frach fool ideas of a civilized war! YOU destroyed us! YOU destroyed our world and-"

Cidra slashed her claws across his face, "What of YOU?! You hunted DOWN the people who helped us protect what we have!" he struggled under her claws, "They are JUST as guilt as you!" Cidra growled, "They tried..." her son returned the growl, "Not ENOUGH!" the Doctor grabbed Cidra's arm when she went to swing her claws into her son's skull, "No! NO more killing! Look at us - look at me and Val! We're the last of a fractured people - hatred! Mother against son - sister against brother... I threw my whole people into the void on the very reason you damn each other! Don't DO this!"

For a split second Cidra looked at the Doctor - and then at Val, a seeming pitying look in her eyes... before her son unsheathed his claws and plunged them into her stomach. Roaring Cidra unsheathed her own claws and before the Doctor could stop her they were plunged wrist-deep into his throat. Grabbing Cidra the Doctor struggled to pull her off, "No! Cidra! Your son - we can help him! CIDRA!" but she simply rolled off her sons body - already dead. Staring at the two dead aliens the Doctor looked up at the wounded UNIT forces now being picked up and reinforced, "It's not fair..." the Doctor said huskily.

Looking at his now blood-stained coat and the sonic screwdriver in his hand the Doctor stuffed the screwdriver into his pocket and then glanced at Val, "Come with me,"

***

Leaning against his TARDIS the Doctor watched as the UNIT troops marched in and out of the base. Now back at UNIT HQ the Doctor crossed his arms as he saw Val talking to three of the UNIT commanders and then come walking over to him, "You work it out?" he asked, in reference to UNIT continuing to not interfere in her life as long as she helped them when they needed it, "They mean well... everyone means well in the end," he smiled softly, "So... what now?" Your friend is gone... you still want that trip to Paris?" he grinned cheekily, "Say... the early 1600's?"

(OOC: Sorry for the change but the ending of the plot always bothered me - it almost seemed like the Doctor almost condoned what Cidra did to her only child... which is not in his character. The two of them killing each other in their anger made more sense. As we planned, the Doctor's offer for a trip will be refused... but who knows what Val will learn from this little adventure ;)

Valkyri - May 23, 2010 03:11 PM (GMT)
When I'm thirty two will I be miserable with everything I am based on
principal I don't have a clue oh wouldn't it be nice to never be alone in this wasted life.

Valkyri hated the way adults always looked at her and said it was going to be alright when it wasn't, sure it might be alright for them but what about everyone else? It wasn't alright for them was it! He was pissed off, really pissed off she could feel it and she didn't like it, she had stood in rooms with Time Lords as they got angry, as they plotted and she really hadn't liked it one damn bit. Standing there she wasn't too sure about what she should be doing, she didn't know what she was meant to be doing there was a difference and she couldn't work it out. There was carnage around them, it was hell on earth bodies and wreckage, the metallic smell of iron in the air, blood she thought as her grip on The Doctors shirt tightened a little. Her single heart was beating in her chest rapidly as she jumped. Her head snapped up looking at the roof as moonlight flooded the room and he grabbed her hand. Running she started running and she didn't like it a single bit, more because she didn't know what the f*** was going on but at least he was coming up with ideas right? That was as good thing, that was a very good thing! Not that she liked the ideas though, right now the best idea in the universe would be to get the hell out of here! That way she could at least you know end up surviving she wasn't like him, she had one life. One change. Maybe that was a good thing...or a bad thing she didn't know.

Then they started talking about killing again, she was going to say something but The Doctor got there first, she looked back and forth between them, hell feeling like a spare wheel again but st least she wasn't you know being attacked! Biting her lip she glanced between them all, she didn't just want to stand here, she wanted to do something but it made her feel like a waste of space. Mind you he was trying to convince them to stop fighting, they were trying to stop them from killing each other, she didn't understand though. All she could think about was how she would have been so grateful to have some of her family left, her her mother or father or brothers were still alive then...then she would have celebrated it not attacked them. She would have clung to them for all they were worth and never let go, yet tragedy did something strange to people, it broke some people, it turned others to violence, some to silence, some...did unintelligible things. Valkyri just didn't have age on her side to be able to understand it wasn't that she was stupid she just wasn't grown yet.

She couldn't watch, she burred her head in his arm, which was easy enough considering the high difference under any other circumstances this would have been hilarious but not now. She was crying, she didn't realise it, he was right this wasn't fair. How people could be consumed by hate like that, it was at that moment she decided that she wouldn't get herself go that way, that she would not let the hate for the people who started war against her people, against everyone who fought and died against the entire thing. Valkyri was young, emotional, she was bitter, angry, devastated, heart broken and everything in between over the whole thing, so confused about what she should be doing with her life. Should she be setting them a place at the table still, buying them gifts and keeping them as part of her life or should she start moving off, if she did that did it mean she never cared for them? Valkyri had never experienced death before, so what a start to discovering what it was like. Still she was alright wasn't she? She was still here, she was fighting onwards, she was still living and that was a testament to the fact that Valkyri was far stronger than she gave herself credit for. Silently she followed him, she didn't have anything to say about all of this, she didn't know what to make of it all.

Everything seemed to end well though, she just hoped UNIT were going to leave her alone, she offered them her help, her hand in friendship if you wish, she didn't want to end up being hunted on this earth. Still with a smile and a see you soon she wondered over to the strange man, standing against a blue box, the two of them almost the same, last members of a fragmented species spread out and scattered across the stars, scared and devastated by a war that consumed everything they had ever known and yet so different. She shrugged lightly at him a small smile playing on her features. “Dunnknow.” She told him truthfully “I really don't know, well at least they promised not to shoot me if I show up here again.” That was always a plus side right? She glanced back at him, he was right they really did mean well, they were humans, they were just young, she always thought they were a reverse Peter Pan, they wanted to grow up so much faster than they could. What now was the question indeed, there was a sad sigh for a moment that sad smile on her face before she managed to cover it all up again. “I Think...I'll be avoiding Paris if you don't mind.” She explained, she didn't think she could face Paris right now, plus seeing Paris had never been the aim of the trip, getting to live like a human was. “I think...I'll take a trip to Barlin delta, Dad used to say the beaches there were awesome, he used to go there to get away, bit of peace and quiet...to think.”

Yes she had some things to work out.

The Doctor - May 26, 2010 03:58 AM (GMT)
When she said that she was going to avoid Paris the Doctor's smile faded slightly, "Oh... um... but... but I thought-" when she mentioned going on a trip by herself the Doctor nodded, "Oh... yeah, well... yeah that sounds fun," he smiled softly, "Not that this wasn't... ya know... fun?" when she just stared at him the Doctor nodded,"No... it wasn't was it?" he sighed and began to unlock the TARDIS door. It was strange - he felt sadder about this young woman remaining on her own... than he felt about losing his own people. For that he felt guilt... but with this hormonal, grumpy, snappy and brilliant young woman... he simply felt sorrow.

With a click the lock on the TARDIS door was undone and the Doctor began to step inside. Only reaching about half-way the Doctor's head suddenly popped up and he grinned. Suddenly sprinting back out of the TARDIS doors the Doctor leveled a finger at Val, "Wait right here!" dashing back inside the TARDIS the Doctor ran down under the console support-platform and began to dig through the boxes he had there. Nowhere as messy or disorganized as the library the underside of the console still locked like disposal area, "Junk... junk... last years model... jun- ah-ha!" pulling - what appeared to be - a cellphone out of one of the boxes the Doctor grinned and ran back towards the doors.

Popping out like a demented jack-in-the-box the Doctor handed a small cellphone to Val, "I know your set on going your own way - like your dad 'n all that, blah blah blah maturity etcetera," pressing the phone into her dainty palm the Doctor grinned, "But if you EVER - and I mean ever - need help from a mad-man in a box... then just gimme a call," he held up a finger, "We will see each other again Valkyri... I've got a sorta sick sense about those sorts of things," he maintained his grin for almost a minute before nodding, "Sixth sense... I meant, sixth not... yeah," he nodded at the phone as he headed back for the doors, "Stay out of trouble now... oh, what am I saying?" he said with a wink, pulling back into the TARDIS the Doctor opened the doors wide so that Val could watch him.

Running up to the console - with himself in full sight - the Doctor began to press switches, "Dunno what your missing Val, it's all out there... and I'm the perfect guide to find it. There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, and the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream," spinning on his heel the Doctor activated the main demat-circuit and wired it all up to the brake, "People made of smoke on alien sand where sit the cities made of song... If you could touch those people, those cities upon the alien sand and hear the cries of strange birds... watching them wheel in another sky, would that satisfy you?"

Leaning on the console so that his eyes were even with Val's still standing just outside the TARDIS doors the Doctors face looked stone-cold serious as he shook his head, "I dun think so... I think your lonely... and if I can't help you, keep an eye out... because sooner or later... you'll need someone," slowly the Doctor's hand grabbed hold of the parking brake, "And when you find them... ho... look out!" suddenly the TARDIS doors slammed shut right in front of Val with a whoosh-thump the whole box began to vanish as the Doctor - laughing joyously inside his TARDIS - vanished away into the mists of the vortex with a final 'clap' of thunder.

Valkyri - May 26, 2010 10:21 PM (GMT)
We're wasted no no no we're all wasted
We're wasted no no no we're all wasted
Oh she felt bad, it was the way he looked at her when she said no, she felt as if she had just stolen candy off a child or something like that. No it hadn't been fun, it hadn't been fun at all, she hadn't enjoyed watching people die...she could still smell the blood in the air. He acted as if nothing had happened, she supposed that was just how some people reacted, it was just how they dealt with the pain. Valkyri didn't know what she was meant to do, she didn't know how she was meant to react to all of this should she be upset or trying to be strong? Valkyri attempted to look as unconfused as possible when he ran off inside, what the hell was he doing? He was off his head he was like a child who didn't know which way to look as if at any second something shiny would distract him. Standing there she kept her hands in her pockets as she waited trying to do what she was going to do next. Valkyri didn't know what she was going to do really she just knew she didn't want to be around anyone right now.

Taking her hands out her pockets as he jumped back out she jumped for a moment before looking at him kinda shocked as he pressed the phone in to her palm. Looking over it she glanced up at him and then back down at the phone. She wasn't too sure what to say to him, she didn't really know what she was meant to do, God there was so much the little thing didn't know. “Thank you...” She stuttered slightly as she looked at him, he was right they would see each other again, she knew that she was going to bump in to him again. There were so few of them they couldn't afford to ignore each other any more it was a simple fact now. She was meant to stay out of trouble she never stayed out of trouble even back home in the old days trouble had been her middle name. She couldn't help but smirk slightly, a little laugh from her lips. Trouble was going to be everywhere it always was around her, some how she seemed to attract it like a magnet but still it had good meaning. Then again he knew it wasn't worth his time trying to tell her that.

She did watch and she knew what he was saying, there were so many places to go, so many places to see, and yet he was under the impression that she was staying here, that she would have a quiet life. As if. This was Valkyri after all! “Doctor you are under the impression that I'm missing something.” She told him flatly as she crossed her arms. “I don't want a tour guide, I want to discover it for myself.” There was that independent streak she had always got her in trouble, she wasn't going to let anyone show her around, show her the universe she was going to see it for herself, how very teenage right? Then again he hit the nail on the head, she was lonely, she was ever so lonely. It was the serious air around him when he said it that made her expression drop. She didn't like being seen through Valkyri was a good liar, she was good at hiding things but the fact that someone could read right through it, that was scary...it was possibly the scariest thing that had happened today.

Then slam. He was off, she watched for a moment the wind caught her hair as she took a few steps back and she waved to the space and stuck her hands in to her pocket. She didn't know what the hell she was going to do next, a heavy sigh as she felt the weight of the mobile phone in her pocket, it was strange having it there, never the less she turned and walked away. She wasn't going to the beach, she had never planned to, she just hadn't wanted to throw his offer back in his face, that was just rude.
