The Doctor Posted on Jan 10 2012, 04:11 AM
On the subject of River, the person applying for her has until the end of the month to finish her profile. If it isn't finished then you can try out. If it doesn't meet with our expectations/requests (steep though they may be) then the same thing applies

That said, yes, it is first come/served

As for a character, we have a lot of canon's that you could take up. River may be the only human-hybrid Time Lord up for grabs; but there are multiple female time lords and male times lords that could have survived the Time War. Not to mention several past companions you could take up.

On the male end of the spectrum there's the Doctor's classmate from the Deca (the second to go rogue) Drax; he owns his own TARDIS which will only take the shape of a convertible car (personality glitch in the matrix he never fixed) no matter where he lands. Not exactly what you'd call 'friends' but his habit of getting into trouble and the Doctor having to get him out of it makes them - as I said - class mates tongue.gif

On the female end of the spectrum (as I assume you're more interested in a girl) we've got Innocet who was a cousin and child-hood friend of the Doctor. Taught that he had become 'evil' and defied their ways (as she had been older than him but much more naive) she helped his family work against him when he returned in his seventh incarnation. To remind herself WHY she hated him, Innocet refused to cut her hair for 600 + years, and it remained un-cut until she was killed - the Doctor cutting it as she regenerated into a much more youthful body.

Technically the 'house-keeper' of the Doctor's line as he gave her the seed of their house (basically the head of his family even though he and she - and technically Meta -are all that remain) she is a master of the nearly abandoned technique of Telekinesis amongst her people (they consider it to be an art from the dark times) and uses it like another limb. However, because of her constant 'use' of this talent; her ability to see future time lines (the future of her people being time-locked to them even post-time war) makes her useful as an adviser to Romana and one of the original women who Rassilon experimented on during the Time War

She probably suffered much like the Rani - though on a much more rudimentary scale as Rassilon had not yet refined the process. The mental torture and raping that he did to open her future-site to his command would likely have triggered another regen (her current appearance and third life) and would likely have left her blind or even deaf permanently - even if she were to regen again. Making her even more reliant on her telekinesis and telepathy to get around.

ANOTHER possible female character is Ruath. Another friend of the Doctor she was a class ahead of him and one of the first people to 'lead him astray' (it was hinted that they slept together - the freshman and the senior with her being the senior if you get my drift) and was actually the one who taught him how to hotwire a TARDIS and hijack it.

Something of a 'bad-girl' she became disillusioned with the Time Lord corruption and wanted to change it from within. However, when the Doctor left her disillusion became anger - as he had 'abandoned' her to dust and decay. Becoming obsessed with the legends of Vampires she tricked Romana into accessing a CIA-owned TARDIS and hijacked it. Entering the time-lock hidden on Earth she freed the Vampire Messiah and became his consort when she gave him her blood.

As she was dying he converted her into a Vampire - but when the Doctor defeats the cult, he spares her and hides her on Gallifrey... only for her to follow him and confront him in his TARDIS. The Doctor explained that he'd left her alone on Gallifrey because he'd believed she wouldn't have been able to survive the life of a renegade. That he'd wanted to keep her safe. Feeling guilt for what he'd done the Doctor said he'd wanted to help her - but when Ruath tried to feed on him (convert him so they'd have to stay together) Nyssa and Tegan opened the TARDIS doors and she was sucked out into the Vortex.

Now the Doctor believed she was dead, but it's just as possible that she survived. Her body ripped open by the vortex, she would have spent most of her powers as a vampire trying to survive. Rendering her half-vampire and half-timelord. Capable of regenerating, but each body growing younger and weaker every time it happens... her hunger becoming stronger as well as her powers, she would no longer be able to feed on just ordinary blood. For her body was corrupted by the Vortex. She'd have to feed on the blood of time travelers.

The vortex would have spat her out in the first 'disruption' she came across... namely the day that the ribbon of energy spread through our universe. Since then (2006) she's probably been doing one of two things.

If she regrets what she did, discovering Gallifrey destroyed and the Time Lords all but dead, then she'd be looking for a way to cure herself. Allowing her bodies to 'wither' she wouldn't have to feed unless her instincts take over. Since she's half-time lord (no regen limit) she TECHNICALLY would live forever. But because she doesn't feed, her powers would feed on HER body instead. Triggering regens when her body has been drained of energy - making her younger and smaller and weaker every time that happens. Tearing her body open and making her hunger all that much stronger. So who knows how many times she's regenerated since she was thrown out of the vortex in 2006... that all depends on how young you make her actress.

She'd also be reduced to hiding (since the Time Lords - ANY time lords - would be blood-bound to destroy her) and trying to get from time-zone to time-zone and planet-to-planet STRUGGLING to find ANY information she once had access to as a Minister of History on how to cure her of her disease.

If she DOESN'T regret what she did, and has gone fully rogue, she would be the perfect hunter. Driven insane by her journey through the vortex she would have become little more than an animal. Her prize 'food' would range across ANY time-traveling race that had been in the vortex would be her meat. Also, because she's only HALF time lord, there would be (as I said) no regenerative limit. And because she feeds every chance she gets her body wouldn't be weak... but her powers also wouldn't be as strong, though her hunger would be boundless.

A huntress and a viscous monster she'd be someone the Doctor would have to hunt down at all cost... evading him at every turn she'd be a target to every Time Lord in the employ of the CIA... and the perfect assassin for hire by anyone - from the Sontarans to the Silence to the Daleks... the perfect killer. For, who better to kill a timelord... than one who was a time lord?

Anyway, these are just some examples I've compiled (giving you a few updated for this time line plot-bunnies) I primarily detailed the female options (as you seem to want to play a girl) but if you need notes on Drax I can probably supply you with them smile.gif

Hi, I'm super brand new here, and wanted to ask someone about River Song.

I know you have her reserved, but is more than one person allowed to audition for her, or is it first come, first serve? I've been wanting to play her for quite a while, but all the places I find that have her are either inactive or they are on a first come, first serve basis when it comes to auditioning.

You all seem so organized and this place looks like it is SO much fun. I would be thrilled to know I can still audition.

If River is completely out of the question, I have always wanted to make a character with Lisa Edelstein's face, and I noticed one of your Time Lords is Hugh Laurie. I'd love to make a companion for him.

If none of this is acceptable, then perhaps we can think of something? Or I can go on my merry way. Haha.
