Any skills: Besides the natural abilities of a Time Lord ((Regeneration, Two Hearts, Long Life Span etc.)) the Professor has picked up a number of skills through centuries of travel. In the wake of the Time-War, The Professor became an expert of jury-rigging his TARDIS, repairing broken systems with scavenged parts from various sources. The Professor is also versed in the fighting arts, having long decided it was best to know how to defend oneself in such a dangerous universe and as such he is quite capable when it comes to Melee and certain martial arts. Though his greatest asset is probably is vast knowledge, which has served him well in many situations. Some jokingly suggest that the Professor has forgotten more facts then most people will ever know. Regardless, its served him well as a teacher.

Personality: The Professor is a serious and focused individual, but is known to crack an occasional joke now and then. Generally he's quite reserved about his origins and past, except when it comes to telling stories about some of his more exciting adventures. And he can be quite an exceptional story teller when the moment is right. The Professor often boasts about his seemingly infinite knowledge of the universe and has been known to prattle on at times. Despite being a well intentioned being, The Professor can be also be described as being a bit manipulative at times. Usually his manipulation of people serves a higher purpose, but not that isn't always the case.

History:Long ago the Timelord now known as the Professor was born on the Shining World of the Seven Systems, otherwise known as Gallifrey. The facts surrounding the Professors childhood and family are a bit sketchy, most of what is known about him begins around his eighth birthday. Which of course coincided with initiation into the Time Academy. At eight eight he was brought before the Untempered Schism, a gap in the fabric of reality itself. A place where one could gaze into the time vortex and see the whole of time and space. The sheer vastness of the vortex was enough to terrify some while drive others mad but a select few? A select few were inspired by the majesty of time and space. The Professor was one who would be inspired. Standing there before the raw power of time and space he gazed into the depths of the vortex in awe of its majestic nature. There he could see not only the possibilities of the universe but of those in itself. Gazing into its depths he could feel doors in his mind opening, and others yearning to be explored. This moment cemented his path. Afterwards he began attending the Time Academy with the Prydonian Chapter which would later earn the dubious reputation of spawning many renegade Time Lords. At the Academy The Professors favorite subjects included history, advanced quantum physics, some music and other science related courses. For the most part his grades were usually quite excellent which earned the scorn from some of his other classmates who were simply jealous of his achievements. It was at this early age where he found that the knowledge to defend oneself was critical to ones survival.
Thus, He did have a number of demerits for school yard scuffles. Regardless, The young boy had a close knit circle of friends, mostly made up of fellow over-achievers but there were a few exceptions. One of those included a Time-Lady who would be known by many names, but would remain a close friend and companion to the Professor for many centuries. Over a century at the Academy the Professor gradually began to realize a desire to not only expand his own knowledge, but to share and teach as well. The former is accomplished by accompanying his teachers and other mentors on missions of scientific observations and experiments, while the latter is eventually realized in his desire to become a teacher himself. In time the Professor graduates from the Academy and seeks a teaching position at the Academy. Though he was granted this position, The High Council of Time Lords would sometimes call on him to conduct tasks for them. The reasons for this was twofold, The first, and most important was their hopes that such tasks would prove his loyalty to the council. An important issue given the problem of renegade Time Lords. The Second? Quite simple, some key tasks needed to be fulfilled. And as for his views towards the renegade types? The Professor had genuine respect for a few of them, including the Doctor but he respected law and order much more. The Professor was more then content witnessing the unfolding of history from the shadows. Throughout his first incarnation The Professor mainly taught at the Academy, while preforming an occasional field trip or experiment with his classes. Thus the need for adventures that some renegades sought was mostly lost on him, The Professor was quite happy with the occasional mission from the council, especially given the fact his primary love was still academics.
The Professors first incarnation was quite long lived, so much so that his first regeneration was due to old age! After centuries of teaching, field trips and sometimes stressful council missions The Professor regenerated into a younger, colder, more sarcastic and bitter Time Lord. This Darker incarnation wasn't quite as welcome by his students then he had before, but this was The Professor they were stuck with. Sometime during his second incarnation, The council issued him a Type 68 TARDIS which itself was somewhat of an experimental model designed to prove new technologies and designs before bridging the gap to the truly next generation of TARDIS's. This TARDIS would serve him well for many years to come. But as a teacher and scientist? The TARDIS was outfitted with educational and scientific facilities which made it very useful on field trips. Through this incarnation the Professors view of the council begins to gradually change, in part due to his close relationship with Angerona, his long time friend and former school-mate. She believed the policy of non-interference with the affairs of the universe would be their ultimate undoing. Evidence of corruption within the council also begins to sway his opinion, but it would be centuries before he'd be forced to act.
Through his second incarnation The Professor continued his teaching and scientific pursuits. But at the urging of his companion Angerona he also began to travel the stars with her which helped shape his changing views of Time Lord Society and Laws. Finally he begun to understand as well why those like the Doctor traveled and undertook the adventures that they did. As well as why they helped the lesser races of the universe. It wasn't long before the council began to see a shift in The Professors attitudes towards them, which caused them much concern. The Time Lady he was so close to had always been a thorn in their side, and as such a closer eye was kept on both of them. After a century of politics, adventures, and enlightened souls the Professor had finally come to see what Time Lord society had become, Stagnant. The Professor could see that there were forces in the universe growing in power, forces that could one day challenge the Time Lords and perhaps be the end of all they held so dear. And unless they changed their course? It would be the end of them all. The final straw was when they enacted punishment on Angerona for 'interference' which included a forced regeneration and exile on the planet she'd interfered with. The Council had done this to the Doctor once before, and at the time The Professor had stood by but no longer.
Resigning from the Time Academy, he stole his TARDIS and left Gallifrey, unsure as to whether or not he'd ever be able to return. It was quite strange to him that it seemed he'd become a renegade himself, something he'd been so opposed to in times past. After retrieving Angerona the two embarked on a series of adventures through time and space, enjoying each others company and ultimately vowing upon their last incarnation, when it was time for them to pass.. They would witness the end of the universe together. Their adventures would continue until an encounter with the Dalek Empire would bring their worst fears to light. War was coming. Narrowly escaping the clutches of the Daleks, The Professor was forced to regenerate after sustaining grave injuries. His new incarnation? Quite suitable for the battles to come.
The Professors third incarnation was quite unlike the previous two, aggressive, stern, and quite warlike. The Professor brought evidence to the council that the Daleks are on the warpath, preparing to wage war against them but his words fell on deaf ears and was very nearly detained for his words. Disgusted The Professor returned to traveling, searching for further evidence for his claims and assisting any world, any race that found themselves in the crosshairs of the Daleks. It was quite a few years before the council realized that war was upon them, and even then they were slow to act. But eventually the council ordered a full mobilization. Finding themselves short on warships they initiated an emergency effort to refit some TARDIS's with weapons until more Battle TARDIS's could be constructed. The Professors TARDIS was among those refitted and with it he would lead a contingent into battle against the Dalek hordes.
Through it all The Professor was there, for their victories, for their losses and for the absolute horrors. The Professor was there when Davros himself was killed at the Gates of Elysium, as well as when the Daleks took control of the Cruciform. The horrors he witnessed were endless, the friends who died? Too many to name. Battle after Battle the Daleks lost countless sums, but still they pushed the Time Lords back. Planets and Solar-systems were destroyed by the hundreds, and then it came to the fall of Arcadia. Like The Doctor, The Professor was there. The horrors and losses of that campaign were beyond imagination, and the memories of that time would haunt the Professor for the rest of his days. Ultimately the war came to the home front, Gallifrey.
After countless years of war, they'd finally been pushed back to their home world. The Time Lords prepared all of their remaining defenses for what all but a few believed to be a hopeless cause. The full might of the entire Dalek Imperial Fleet descended upon Gallifrey, and from orbit one could see nothing but Dalek ships for as far as the eye could see. The final battle was on an unimaginable scale, millions of ships duking it out one last time. The Professor lead numerous battle TARDIS's in the battle and for what seemed like an eternity they did battle. Blow after blow, ship after ship the two sides mauled each other. But despite the losses the Time Lords inflicted, they were hopelessly outnumbered. The Dalek Fleet was so vast they could afford horrible to louse hundreds of ships, thousands of Daleks for every Time Lord ship. The loss of every Time Lord Ship and TARDIS burned at the hearts of the Professor, who only fought harder against the hopeless odds. There was no doubt in his mind that this was the last stand of the Time Lords.
For such desperate times, desperate actions would have to be undertaken. In the end, It was the Doctor who ended the Last Great Time War with an action that destroyed both Time Lords and Daleks alike. But it ensured the past, present and future for the lesser races. While attempting to escape the great destruction of Gallifrey, The Professors TARDIS was caught in a cataclysmic shockwave that battered the walls of reality itself. This resulted in his TARDIS falling through the vortex completely out of control. And on top of that The Professor had sustained grave injuries during the battle, with his breathing now erratic, his heartbeats irregular he knew every cell in his body was now dying. But the worst was yet to come. As the ship hurdled through the vortex, it lurched violently, rocking and rolling before the Time Vortex vanished from the time rotor and then.. Silence. Darkness. The TARDIS was dead, And The Professor laid alone in the dark, dying in silence. The Professor wept softly for his beloved TARDIS which he now feared was dead. And worse still? He believed he'd landed in the void, trapped forever in the lost dimension. But there was one thought that consoled him, the thought that everything he'd lost had been worth it. They'd stopped the Dalek horde once and for all, and the universe would be safe from their tyranny. Soon the regeneration process began and he tried to bring himself up to his feet, using the console to steady himself. Then brilliant golden energy burst from his body, causing him to cry out as every cell in his body regenerated and as it happened he cried out "Please! Not GINGER!"
Within a few moments the process was over, The Professor had regenerated entirely. It took him a few moments to get used to the new body, voice and personality. But soon he shifted his attention to more pressing matters. As for all the regenerations in the universe wouldn't matter if he was stuck on a dead TARDIS in the void. Stumbling towards the door he used the emergency hand crank to open it. To his relief rays of light poured through the door-way and he stepped outside. And there he found himself standing in a wide open plain, which appeared and smelled a bit like England. Turning around he realized the TARDIS's last act had been apparently to disguise itself as a wood shed. Soon he spotted a man running towards him, shouting and berating him for being in a restricted area. The Professor soon learned that he was standing in Battersea Park, London England in the year 1854. And the area was restricted because the park was still under construction. Though he was glad to know where and when he was, the fact that he was trapped there with a dead TARDIS was hearts breaking.
But the situation he faced with his TARDIS perplexed him dearly. Even with the destruction of the original eye of harmony, his TARDIS should have had enough energy to allow him to travel a bit before fueling from another source. With a change of fresh clothes, The Professor decides to venture out to explore 1850's London while trying to work out the problem he faced. It wasn't long before he realized the circumstances that he was dealing with. After wandering around London for a few hours he soon had a startling realization. This wasn't 1854 London! At least not HIS 1854 London. In a moment of sudden clarity, The Professor realized that the destruction of the Eye of Harmony and resulting Shockwave must have punched a hole through the fabric of time and space, a doorway to an alternate universe. Obviously he'd fallen through it, and perhaps his TARDIS had helped cause the breach? Regardless, it wasn't a good situation at all.
The TARDIS was effectively without power and would need to be refueled with a power source that resided in this dimension. And what was the best source for temporal energy? Temporal instabilities, time rifts and faults running between dimensions. If he could locate one of those he'd be able to repower the TARDIs and at the very least travel within this universe and perhaps later find a way back home. But first he knew he'd have to repair the TARDIs's systems somehow, given the extensive damage they'd received during battle. And he wasn't in the ideal time period for parts scavenging, but he tried to make the best of what he could find.
For the next year the Professor took his time cleaning the TARDIS up, removing damaged systems and debris while making a list of parts he'd need to make repairs. It took him sometime but he was able to jury-rig a makeshift power generator so that the TARDIS would at least have some interior lights. But on top of everything that'd gone wrong? He was forced to do the unthinkable.. Find a Earth Job! Like a normal human! For the next 153 years The Professor would work odd jobs around the Earth while scavenging for parts and searching for a power source for the TARDIS. Many of his jobs related to teaching positions, but he resorted to manual labor jobs when times were tough. But in the 1930's he served for a time as a Zeppelin Captain! But overtime he was able to cobble together a makeshift computer that would aid him in his search for a time-rift, but he knew that even with a power source that he'd not be able to repair the TARDIS until the late 20th century because the technology and parts he needed simply hadn't been invented yet. Faced with this realization he tried to make the best of his time on Earth.
By 2007 The Professor had made much progress in repairing the ships primary navigation and drive systems, and was making progress in finding a suitable time rift within reach. But he'd face a major detour when he came face to face with an alternate version of a foe from his past.. The Cybermen! Though the orgins of these Cybermen were far different then the one's he'd encountered in the past, they were just as dangerous. The Professor quickly found himself caught up in events, given the London Cybus factory was just down the street from his TARDIS. He soon found himself assisting the resistance in destroying the remaining Cybermen, even going as far to travel across the channel to help liberate Paris. In the aftermath The Professor learned that the Doctor himself had been responsible for the destruction of the Cybus factory, news that was more then welcome given his fears that he was the sole survivor of the time war. But this discovery lead to another complication, The Doctor had sealed the dimensional breach that The Professors TARDIS had created at the end of the time war, it was the same breach that the Doctor had fallen through himself.
This turn of events complicated matters for The Professor extensively, not only did he have to repair his TARDIS but find a way to breach the dimensional walls to return to his reality which would be most difficult. Nevertheless the Professor continued working on the problem. Eventually The Professor discovered the Time-Rift in Cardiff, which soon proved to be a suitable source of energy through his studies. In time The Professor hired a trucking company to transport his 'old tool shed' down there. Once there The Professor continued making repairs while the jury-rigged TARDIS soaked in the energy from the rift. Eventually the fluctuating energy stream of the time rotor returned. proving that the old TARDIS was once again alive. Of course repairs were far from complete and he still needed a plan to return to his own universe but this had been a step in the right direction.
With the walls of the universe effectively closed off by the Doctor travel between dimensions would be extremely difficult if not impossible. In the days prior to the Time War it was relatively easy for a Time Lord to travel to a specific parallel universe, though the effort would certainly strain and possibly damage a vessel at times. This in part was due to the fact the Primary Eye of Harmony on Gallifrey was able to power the TARDIS's of all Time Lords in this universe and others. But with its destruction at the end of the time war TARDIS's were forced to rely on scavenged energy for power, energy that could only be used in its host universe. Thus those turn of events made travel extremely dangerous, and close to impossible if one couldn't find a source of power to fuel their TARDIS. That and the fact the Time Lords had the technology and power to open doorways between dimensions. An ability a sole Time Lord Lacked.
Thus with the discovery of the TARDIS rift, The Professor had solved the power requirement problem on that side of the universe. However if he found a way to get through to the other side he risked being stranded in deep space without a power source. Regardless, The Professor was able to make a micro-jump back to London with the TARDIS, where he resumed his role as Professor of Theoretical physics at the Imperial College of London. The position helped him with with funds and other essentials while he continued making repairs to the TARDIS and continue his research into dimensional travel. But a serious break would come for him when the existence of the Torchwood Institute is made public when a new Government came to power. In time Torchwood itself took notice of the Professor due to his strange activities and a few 'incidents' and soon they caught up with him. At first it seemed his future could be quite bleak, but in time his manipulative nature began to work its magic and in time he convinced them that he was merely a friend to Earth ((Which wasn't a lie really)) and he was more then willing to share his vast knowledge. Through the next year and a half he manipulates Torchwood to suit his needs, using their powerful computers to run simulations and do design work until he finally comes up with a way to escape to his proper world. But in exchange he assisted them in the development of various technologies and with other problems relating to Aliens.
In time The Professor came up with a cunning plan to literally punch a hole through the fabric of time and space, breaking through to his universe while using a separate device of his making to hopefully seal the hole after passing through. The Professor took his time collecting equipment and devices he'd need for this venture, once that was done? He slipped away from Torchwood and returned to his TARDIS where he sealed himself in to finish his work. In time they'd realize what he'd done, and even find files relating to his work which would prove useful to them in the future. After a few months the Professor had completed his repairs, his two devices and was ready to enact his plan. For the first time in a century and a half the Professor took his TARDIS off world, and far away from the Sol system so that he could execute his plan without possibly annihilating Earth itself. The device he constructed worked as planned piercing through the dimensional walls which the TARDIS quickly followed through, and the second device did its job of repairing the breach. But it all came at a price as the TARDIS tumbled through time and space and crash landed on 20th Century Earth, Again with serious damage to its systems.
But that time around? The Professor was able to make repairs much more quickly. But without knowledge of the Doctors whereabouts, or much of anything for that matter he decided to wander. In time the Professor would undertake a series of adventures, ranging from Zombies in 20th Century Wisconsin, The Lizard People of the Ozarks and even a few adventures with the King of Rock and Roll. The Professor would experience much in his travels, finding it strange that he'd become a wanderer like some of his classmates had. Currently? The Professor wanders the universe searching for purpose and adventure.
:: Know What I Have ::
Weapon(s): Primarily a Sword-Cane, plus whatever he has stashed on his TARDIS
Important Tech: Type 68 TT Mark XCV TARDIS
The Type 68 TARDIS belonging to the Time Lord known as the Professor was introduced as a short run experimental model which was intended to introduce new technologies and bridge the gap between the older and new generation TARDIS's that were still in development. Because of that only a dozen Type 68 TARDIS's were constructed and most were phased out before the events of the Time War. The Professors TARDIS was one of the few remaining Type 68's in service when the Time War broke out. For most of its service life, The Professors TARDIS was used as a scientific research platform and included a sizable laboratory module, and powerful scanning units. Many of the missions conducted by the Professor were sanctioned by the High Council and usually included a scientific crew to aid him in impairments, and on occasion the Professor used the TARDIS as a class room for his students from the Academy of Gallifrey, as well as the occasional 'joyride' to different eras. After resigning from his teaching post in protest, The Professor 'liberated' his TARDIS and began exploring the universe
Through centuries of travel the Professors TARDIS has been refitted and upgraded on many occasions, which has made some of its systems somewhat unreliable. The last 'official' refit occurred during the opening stages of what would be come to known as the Last Great Time War. Facing a shortage of warships and a massive Dalek fleet, a move was made to refit many TARDIS's to a battle standard. Though this was on a voluntary basis, The Professor was one Time Lord who stepped forward to allow his TARDIS to be refitted with weapons. With his makeshift battle TARDIS the Professor fought many battles against the Dalek Empire. But during the fall of Gallifrey the TARDIS was heavily damaged, and the Professor was forced to jettison the ships weapons systems for extra energy. Over the course of a century and a half the Professor made makeshift repairs to the ships systems, which resulted in the TARDIS's current jury-rigged appearance and sometimes unreliable nature.
Due to the nature of a TARDIS, its interior is nearly infinite and these are a few of the key facilities his TARDIS has to offer currently.
Grand Library
The TARDIS's Grand Library speaks volumes for the Professors passion for knowledge. The large chamber is plushly decorated around a Gallifreyan based motif, with elegant hardwood paneling and antique furniture. The multi-level chamber hosts the reading area on a lower floor, while selected works occupy 16 shelves above that. Between those shelves, various items that the Professor has collected through his travels are prominently displayed. Leading up two spiral staircases to the uppermost floor. Here four large book shelves house hundreds of additional books, but this is only a tiny fraction of the collection. In the middle of the room is a large window that appears to look out across space, a large skylight is also present though its likely these are just holographic projections. On each side of the library are two doorways, which lead to the primary collection. Housed in these two massive chambers are thousands upon thousands of books from across time and space.
The collection contains many 'rare' first editions, with many being signed by their authors. The collection spans everything from reference books, fiction, science fiction, murder mysteries, religious texts and everything in between. The collection is the pride of the Professors, and the TARDIS computers maintain a record and location on all of the books allowing for easy retrieval of any book.
Ships Attic
The uppermost deck of the TARDIS is more or less an attic. This large, multi level room stores many artifacts that the Professor has picked up through his travels, some are innocent items such as pottery from Ancient Greece, A Spartan Helmet while other items could be extremely dangerous if they fell into the wrong hands. During his first incarnation It was known that the Professor would sometimes journey to the uppermost level of the attic and sit in a rocking chair, reflecting on events and his life.
Primary Control Room
This Room acts as the primary control room for the whole TARDIS, where all major and most minor functions can be monitored and controlled. In the center of the large domed room is the central control console and Time Rotor. The Console itself is separated into six separate consoles which pertain to specific TARDIS systems. The The Mark XCV Console was added during the TARDIS's last refit, and it represents a more streamlined and more advanced console then the previous Mark XC which was installed on the Doctors Type 40 TT TARDIS for example. To allow for ease of maintenance, the deck grates around the console lift up to allow easy access for repairs. On the far side of the Chamber is the Main Doors which serves as the primary entrance/exit of the TARDIS's interior Micro-Universe. The Main Doors are actually a set of two doors, The inner doors usually remained closed during travel, while the outer doors reform to conform to whatever shape the Chameleon circuit has chosen, though the main doors can be left open during this process. A mechanical lever on the console can be used to open the primary doors, and in the event of main power failure the Doors can be opened with an emergency hand crank thats fitted into the wall to the left of the doors.
Another set of doors leads out of the Control room, just outside the doorway is a door that leads to the TARDIS Utility Room which stores a variety of personal equipment including a first aid kit, TARDIS tool Kit among other things. Moving past the Stairwell into Corridor I are the crew quarters, there are currently ten rooms for this purpose. Each room is spacious, with its own 'living' room, and a bedroom for those races who requite sleep, a bathroom is also provided. Sometimes the rooms are reconfigured to suit the needs of the individual.

Given the fact the Chameleon circuit is still in working order, the Professor TARDIS assumes many different guises, from a tool shed, postal box, and even on one occasion an outhouse. However, for some unknown reason the TARDIS seems to enjoy its guise as a English telephone booth.
Other items: Besides his sonic screwdriver, psychic paper the Professor also relies on a cobbled together laptop of sorts.

A bit heavy, and a bit clunky this computer consists of bits and pieces from a number of different time periods. But its quite powerful and holds an immense amount of data, and allows him to make calculations and analyzes that he would otherwise need the TARDIS's systems for. And if needed, the computer can be networked back to the TARDIS to retrieve other data or use the ships sensors.

As a means of transport, The Professor uses a 1939 Brough Superior SS100 Motorcycle which he picked up in an alternative dimension, but its also rumored the TARDIS contains a number of other vehicles hidden away in its bowls.
:: Know My Abilities ::
Sample RP: ((Taken from the prologue to a story I was writing at the time, not considered totally canon))
"The universe was a much kinder place long ago, before the last Great Time War. It's where I lost everything, my home, my people, my love, It's where we lost everything despite our victory. They seemed unstoppable, The Dalek Hordes. We fought throughout time and space, and at every turn they pushed us back, again and again. They pushed us back to Arcadia, where we hoped to turn the tide of war against them, but it was a slaughter that few of us barely survived. Then they came with a massive fleet of ten million ships to our home, Gallifrey. It was anarchy, A few stood against many in the face of total annihilation while the very foundation of our civilization crumbled. This was the day Gallifrey fell to the Dalek Empire, But it was also the day that they fell before the Doctor. Ten Million Dalek ships burned in the sky with their Time Lord Counterparts, but we finally stopped them and hopefully ensured a safer, existence for the lesser forms of the universe for all time. But I still ask myself, Why did I survive? Why didn't I burn with them? Why didn't I die there with her? The memories will haunt me for all eternity, but I know we did the right thing..."'
The control room shook and lurched as another Dalek warhead impacted against the TARDIS's forcefields. "Damnit!" cried out the lone crewman, with systems overloading in a shower of sparks and the lighting flickered on and off. The mans fine clothes were stained with blood, ripped and torn as he raced around the TARDIS's console flipping levers and pressing buttons. The man appeared to be in his late seventies, but his physical pace was more akin to a 30 year old even despite his injuries. A large holographic display dominated one side of the domed chamber and on it was a visual display of the battle outside along with other critical information. As far as the eye could see there were Dalek Motherships and battle cruisers swarming around the Yellowish orange planet known as Gallifrey, Home of the Time Lords. Between Gallifrey and the vast Dalek Fleet was the Gallifreyan war fleet made up of thousands of Bowships, Black Hole Carriers, other ships and a few makeshift Battle TARDIS's and all were fighting vainly to hold back the enemy horde. The Dalek Super Mothership dominated all others in its sheer size, firing off warheads against the Gallifreyan Warships which were becoming fewer in numbers by the minute. This was only half the battle, Daleks had already landed on Gallifrey itself and had taken the fighting to the great cathedral cities. The ship rocked violently again, this time roundels exploded as circuitry overloaded and more alarms went off.
The TARDIS had not been designed as a warship, an excellent timeship? Yes. Warship? So-So, But given the dire situation of the war the Council initiated an emergency effort to refit modern TARDIS's with weapons, and and now this was one of the few remaining Battle TARDIS's still in the fight. Banging on a large button, two Energy Torpedoes shot out from the TARDIS which was in its base 'cabinet' form, the two warheads shot out towards a Dalek Cruiser and promptly ripped through the hull of the ship, detonating with incredible force."Another down, nine million to go!" Cheered the ships captain as he rushed back to the flight controls to execute evasive maneuvers to avoid incoming fire from another Dalek Cruiser. A quick check of the damage control monitor showed that various systems were offline, or in threat of going offline including the only thing keeping the TARDIS from being blown to bits, the forcefield. It was down to a mere quarter of its total strength. "Damnit, we can't keep this up.." he murmured, knowing that fires were burning in some of the engineering sections despite the fact that the automated fire control systems were doing their best to contain them. In his hearts he knew that this was almost certainly the end of the line for him, and probably all the Time Lords as there was no realistic hope of defeating the entire Dalek Fleet and surviving..
No, This would be the last stand for the Time Lords, However they would take the Daleks with them once and for all.. Another alert started beeping, the Scanner had intercepted a signal from the Dalek Mothership. "Oh what the hell.." Hitting a key, the holographic display shifted to the Dalek Emperor himself.
"This is futile Time Lords, You will be exterminated! End your resistance now and your suffering will come to an end! Surrender your ships!" More death, their answer for everything. Quickly he hit a few keys and opened a line back to the Dalek Emperor. "You want our ships? You want our world? Come and take them then!" The only response the Emperor could mutter was more Dalek hysteria and in turn he severed the communication link before another signal was picked up, this time from Gallifrey."Doctor, How close are we?"
"I need another ten minutes! Just ten more minutes Professor and we can end all of this.." There was an obvious hint of uncertainty in the Doctors voice. "This has to be done old friend, we have no other choice.. Gallifrey, The Eye of Harmony and our civilization cannot fall into their hands.. If it does? The universe will belong to the Daleks, and they'll remake it in their image. The war is already lost my friend, the fleet is falling and I cannot hold out for much longer.. This has to be done for the sake of the universe." The Professor, That was what many called him. It'd been a title he'd picked up between his time teaching at the Time Lord Academy and his travels abroad before the war. Long ago him and the Doctor had been fellow classmates of the Prydonian Chapter, which had quite the reputation for spawning renegades like the Doctor, the Master and others.
"I know.." The Doctor sounded resigned to his choice as there were no other options, and only he could do it..
"Just try and give me some more time.. I'm almost there.""I'll give them my best.." The Professor diverted energy from other systems, and even eliminated a number of rooms out of the TARDIS to make up additional energy for the force fields. The skies over Gallifrey were already ablaze with the burning hulks of ships, Daleks by the thousands were streaming towards crippled ships, boarding them and taking them over with little effort. The Professor used the TARDIS to the best of its abilities, dodging and ducking enemy fire and returning fire when he could. But he couldn't avoid every shot, and the TARDIS sustained more and more damage, more systems overloaded and more fires broke out. "Argh!" The Professor cried out in pain as the floor panel exploded and showered him in sparks and shrapnel, which he could feel penetrate deep into his body. He would've fallen if it hadn't been for the console, which he now clung to, coughing raggedly and bleeding heavily through his clothes. That was only the half of it, but possibly the final nails in his coffin as he'd already sustained injuries in an earlier attempt to save his ship. Now his breathing was becoming more labored, and he knew there wasn't much longer for him.
Nevertheless he fought on even as his brethren died around him, The Last Stand of the Time Lords. The speaker crackled again, It was the Doctor.
"Alright! It's ready, for better or for worse! There isn't much time, four minutes and its done.." In someway it was a relief, and other ways the thought was horrific that the plan the Doctor and him had hatched was about to succeed. "Let's hope this works old friend... This is for all of our trials and tribulations, for all of those we couldn't save."
"And those we're about to doom for eternity.." That had always been a key difference between the Professor and the Doctor, the former had a easier time dealing out death when the circumstances required it while the Doctor had an aversion to killing any lifeforms, even a Dalek at times. "Get out of there Doctor, There is still time."
"I.. I.. can't...""No buts!!" The Professor bellowed in a hybrid sottish accent. "Someone must survive to tell people what happened here, That Gallifrey sacrificed itself so that the universe would never know the tyranny of the Daleks... Let them know that a few stood against many in the face of total annihilation as the guardians of time.... Go Doctor, Go.."
".. I'll do that, Save yourself Professor! I've set into motion a chain of events noone can stop.. We'll tell them together, Now lets go!"The signal cutout as the ship was hit again, this time the com panel exploded in sparks and flames severing the TARDIS's comlink to the outside. The Doctor was right, there was nothing that the Daleks could do to stop the oncoming storm. "Right.. Right let's go then." he huffed, blood trickling down from his forehead as he moved to the nav-panel, quickly entering coordinates into the systems. "Jettisoning weapons module, storage rooms..." he murmured, he knew that soon the primary power source for the TARDIS would be dead, and that he'd need ever ounch of power to escape from this battle and maintain the forcefield to avoid being obliterated before the dematerialization proccess could be completed. In the back of his mind he was mentally counting down to the big event. On the scanners, another contact appeared. "Doctor?!!" The Doctors TARDIS had appeared on the edge of the solar system, The Professor set the escape coordinates and activated the temporal engines, the time rotor activated and the sound of the temporal engines began to pulsate through the damaged TARDIs. The ship shook violently as the forcefields gave way to a Dalek warhead, shutting down the TARDIS's defense systems and knocking some sensors off line. "NO! Come on.. Come on..." The Professor waited for what seemed to be an eternity as the systems struggled to engage, but just before the TARDIS began to dematerialize, Galifreys
sun exploded in a brilliant white light that flooded the control room through the holograhpic display. The Professor cried out, covering his eyes to block out some of the brilliant light. Looking again he could see the shockwave tearing through the Dalek fleet, and within a split second millions of Dalek ships were burning along with Galifrey itself. "He did it!" The Professors voice echoed with that of jubilation and horror as a final defeat was delivered to both sides in the Last Great Time War.
The Doctor had done it by hurling the Eye of Harmony into the sun. which resulted in a powerful Supernova which engulfed everything in its path, but the circumstances would be quite dire. Immediately the TARDIS's power levels dropped as the eye was destroyed, removing the primary power source for the TARDIS, emergency power sources kicked in but it'd be just barely enough for a single space-time jump. "Come on! you can do it!" The Professor yelled urging on his machine, finally the temporal engines engaged with their sound pulsating louder and louder as the TARDIS began to dematerialize just as the Supernova shockwave reached the TARDIS's position. The ship rocked violently, roundels exploding and systems blinking out as the TARDIs was flung through time and space by the catastrophic disaster that'd just been triggered. A supernova was bad enough, but given that such a powerful artifact as the Eye of Harmony being involved? It was the worse case scenario multiplied by a thousand! The destruction of the Eye of Harmony would effect time and space itself.
The Professor clung to the console for dear life as the TARDIS flew through the vortex, totally out of control. Things had gone horribly wrong and he had no idea where it would land now. His breathing was now erratic, his heartbeats irregular and he could feel every cell in his body dying.. But the worst was still to come. The Primary lighting failed and breath masks dropped from the ceiling indicating that lifes upport had been damaged. More systems began to overload and burn out, sirens wailing and the Cloister bell ringing. The Professor knew this could be the end, looking to the TARDIS's navigational panel the readings were off the chart as the TARDIS fell through time and Space.
Then the unthinkable happened as the ship lurched violently, The Time Vortex vanished from the time rotor! "No!!!" The Professor cried, as he gazed up at the clear column, which had been ablaze in green light just a moment before.. And then there was utter silence, after all of the commotion and violent movement the console room was eerily still. The Professor fell to his knees weeping, overwhelmed with emotion for he knew what this meant. "The TARDIS is dead.." He cried softly. The Time Vortex was gone, all power was dead and the worst of it? In all likelihood he'd landed in the void, trapped forever in the lost dimension. But he soon consoled himself as he wiped his tears away in the darkness he murmured to himself. "It was worth it.." Then as he opened his eyes he noticed that his hands had began to glow. "It's beginning.." He said to himself as he tried to pull himself up to his feet, steadying himself against the console for a few moments before a brilliant golden energy burst out from his body for a split second causing him to scream and spasm. "Oh.. How I hate this process.." he stammered, gasping for breath. "I hope.. I pray that I'm not ginger.. I'd really hate that.." he said mumbling to himself..
Every cell in his body was dead or dying, but the process was just getting started. "Oh well.. It was a marvelous run!" Again the bright golden energey burst out from his body which looked like it was ablaze in fire. Within a few seconds it was all over, The Professor's body had regenerated anew. "Oh wow.." he stuttered, "New Voice.. different.. good different." he rambled, leaning back against the TARDIS console before rubbing his face. "Oh another beard.. No.. a Goatee.. That's no good.. not good at all.. I'll have to shave.." And indeed, he was a completely different man, taller, a little thinner and a different voice, different accent really. Despite being curious as to what he now looked like, there were more pressing matters at hand as for all the regenerations in the universe might not matter now. Stumbling towards the door, he found the small hatch that held the emergency hand crank for the main doors, opening it he inserted the hand crank and began cranking it, slowly the main doors slid open, allowing light to pour through what seemed to be a wooden door. "Least the chameleon circuit worked.." he noted as he stepped through the main doors and then opened the outer door.
Inhaling a deep breath of fresh air, he surveyed his surroundings and realized he was standing on the edge of some wide open plain, "Just Brilliant.. Would seem to be England however." he remarked to himself, The terrain and 'feel' of the environment was right, but still something seemed a little off. Turning around he realized his TARDIS had taken the shape of a tool shed, which was very odd given it seemed to be right smack dab in the middle of no where, it stood out really.. But the perception filter would keep prying eyes away. "Hey you! What the bloody hell are you doing?!"
The Professors head snapped around as someone was running towards him. "Ah great.." he held his hands up. "Excuse me Sir!" The man slowed to a stop in front of him, eying over the Professor suspiciously. "You shouldn't be here! This area is still closed... .. wait, are you alright?" He said, gesturing towards the blood stains on the Professors clothes. At first the Professor was confused, but soon realized what the man was speaking of. "Oh.. Just a little accident my good man... Its jarred my memory a little I'm afraid.. What year is it? Where am I?"
"Must've been a pretty nasty blow to make you that daft." he said laughing. "Battersea Park you are, It's 1854 and what the blazes are you doing here? We're working here!" It took a moment for it to click, but the Professor soon realized that it wasn't until 1854 that the carriage drives, lake and mounding and other defining elements of the park were first designed and built in this time. "Accident? I'll leave right away." he knew he could use other tactics to convince this man it was all good, but why not honesty? "Eh.. alright, just don't linger around to long... Good day!" He nodded to the Professor before turning and moving away.
The Professor remained silent until the man was out of earshot, and aloud he spoke."Alone in 1854 with a dead TARDIS... Lovely indeed.."
