All was quiet inside the TARDIS... the deep warm 'thrum' of the mass-drive engines beneath the floor of the console room seemed almost hypnotic as the old girl floated serenely through the time vortex. Not a creature was stirring throughout the whole of the console room... until the Doctor - covered in what seemed like an infinite number of wires - came running into the console hauling a huge tool-kit (that looked like a Doctor's bag) with him. Running towards the far-wall of the console room the Doctor grinned as he opened the bag and yanked out a short silver rod. Pulling his goggles down with one hand he aimed the little rod at the now exposed wiring and licked his lips as the rod heated the wiring... and a long bolt of electricity shot out of the wall and sent the Doctor flying backwards into the railing.

Sitting there coughing (and smoking slightly) the Doctor let the bundle of wires tumble off of him and waved the smoke away, "Well..." he coughed and got to his feet, "THAT shouldn't have happened," holding the silver-colored rod up the Doctor squeezed the activation trigger and scowled when it simply sputtered and fired off a round of sparks before being dropped to the deck... prompting the Doctor to let out a shout of surprise when it burst into flame. Running towards the other side of the console room the Doctor shouted, "Don't worry! It's fine! I've got it!" as he rummaged around his old trunk and then pulled out a fire extinguisher.

Running back towards the fire the Doctor pointed the extinguisher at the floor and yelped when the fire got bigger. Realizing he'd grabbed the wrong tank the Doctor threw it to the floor and began stomping on the fire... breathing a sigh of relief when it finally went out. Pulling his goggles off (his face covered in soot) the Doctor scowled as he kicked the old fire extinguisher, "Useless thing... never should have bought it from that two-headed salesman - when one wasn't telling me how nice it looked on me the other one was telling me it was just my color!" reaching into his pocket the Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver and pointed it at the open port-hole (still smoking slightly) and then looked at the readings on the screwdriver.

Liking his lips the Doctor growled and ran up to the console. Pressing the 'blue boringers' the Doctor then shut down the shields and shook his head, "Should have remembered I'd hot-wired that system into the shield-grid..." jumping down the stairs the Doctor ran back towards the hole in the wall and, tucking his sonic screwdriver back into his pocket, the Doctor dug into his bag and grinned when he pulled out another tool just like the first one, "Lovely, you can never have too many sonic lances," aiming the little tool at the wiring the Doctor grinned as the lighting inside the hole turned blue as the wiring was disconnected. Tucking the sonic lance in one pocket the Doctor pulled his sonic screwdriver out of the other and aimed it at the wiring.

With a clunk-click sound the wiring slid back and the Doctor reached inside, "NOW! If I just hotwire these fragment links PAST the shield-grid and into the binary-" there was 'gurgle' from the TARDIS and the Doctor froze. Pulling his arm out of the wall the Doctor slid the wall-cover back into place and ran back up the console steps again, "Oh YES!" the Doctor said with a grin. Looking at the pull-down scanner the Doctor pointed at it, "You see that Amy? Ha! You too Rory - look at this!" the TARDIS could be seen on the scanner - whirling and spinning through the time vortex - only now (instead of blue) it was an off-shade of purple, "Okay- I know, changing the color alone doesn't really MAKE that big a change... but come on! When I land this thing..."

Slamming his hand down on the 'blue-boringers' the Doctor grinned as the console switched back into manual and he began turning the guidance systems in search of a planet, "Just think of how the old dear will look when I've got that circuit working perfect... ly... Amy?" turning around the Doctor realized he was on his own. Looking at the chair the couple had been sitting in he scowled when all he saw was one of Amy's dolls that looked like him - sitting in one of her sneakers, "Nice of her to leave me an audience... blimey," flopping down next to the little toy the Doctor sulked, "You wouldn't think sleep would be all that IMPORTANT to humans..."

Picking the little Doctor-doll up the Doctor poked it, "You wouldn't walk out on me would you? Hm?" talking to himself in a squeaky voice the time lord said, 'no Doctor!' and grinned, "Because this is VERY interesting stuff!" he made the toy nod and said 'yes Doctor!' before grinning... and promptly dropping the doll when a shrill scream filled the halls of the ship, "I wasn't doing any- Amy?" listening the Doctor looked at the console, "I better get the shields-" but then ANOTHER scream filled the air and the Doctor didn't even bother - taking off running in the direction of the newlyweds room.

Running down the hall the Doctor tripped over an old mop bucket - kicking it aside - and stumbled to a complete stop just outside of Amy and Rory's room, "Amy? Rory!" when another scream sounded out the Doctor pointed his sonic screwdriver at the door and shoved the door open, "Amy what's going on? I... What?" the last part sounded off with the utmost confusion as the Doctor stared at two tiny forms in the bed at the far end of the room. One was a little red-headed girl (wearing a nightgown that was far too large for her) who was holding a clump of hair in her hand. The other was a small boy with an overly-large nose (and a bald spot) that seemed to be crying, "What?"

It was when the little girl shouted 'I didn't mean to!' and the boy shouted 'MEANIE!' and kicked her out of the bed that he Doctor finally managed to get control of himself and say, "WHAT?!"

"Rory hold still!" the Doctor said irritably as the robe-wearing human fidgeted, "I know you've just gone from pre-puberty and back again but this is hard enough without you looking at yourself in the mirror every ten minutes... RORY!" turning the mirror on the far wall of the medical room to the wall the Doctor tapped his sonic screwdriver against Rory's forehead and began scanning him again, "I'm trying to be brilliant right now... you need to be... there we go!" with a chirp-chirp the sonic screwdriver finished and the Doctor sniffed as he examined the read-out.

Shoving Rory back into a sitting position the Doctor walked over to the Mrs. and snapped his fingers, "Pond? Poooond... AMY!" when she jerked awake the Doctor pointed his sonic screwdriver at her and sighed, "You're snoring Pond - now hold still," when she opened her mouth to object he Doctor took hold of her mouth and pointed his sonic screwdriver at her uvula, "Very interesting... hm... Amy..." getting eye-to-eye with her the Doctor said, "Now tell me truthfully Pond... you know you're in your nightie right?"

Rubbing his now stinging cheek from her slap the Doctor cleared his throat, "Right then! Well, c'mon - I've got to go see about this," as they trundled after him - Amy doing most of the trundling as she was only half awake - the Doctor glanced back when one of them asked him a question, "Oh nothing important," he said hastily, "You just both crashed through an anti-time field... nothing to worry about," darting out of their line of vision before they could question him the old time lord darted for the console room and began rapidly pressing buttons as the two - still in their P.J's - came running in after him, "Look don't you two want to go get dressed or something?" he asked hopefully... though losing that hope when Amy (awake now) just crossed her arms, "Amy?"

Amy sat on the seat next to Rory watching the Doctor holding Rory’s hand. She thought about how fun it was to say the word husband when referring to him. She didn’t ever think that she would think that calling Rory her husband would be fun at all in fact. Amy pulled herself out of her daydream and tried again to concentrate on What the Doctor was saying. Nonsense. The Doctor absolutely made no sense at all though he was rather dashing. Amy looked over to Rory, her boyfriend who’s clothes seemed to be fitting him looser. Rory was a nice boyfriend safe and funny but she never really could see herself marrying him. He was…. Rory. She’d known him since she could walk it was like she were marrying her brother. Absolutely not. Amy looked back at the Doctor again. Was is her or did it seem like the Doctor had gotten taller all of a sudden. She listened for nearly half a second and she was already bored. She looked down at the small boys hand in hers and then looked at her best friend Rory who looked about as bored as she did. ”Let’s get out of here.” Amelia whispered as she tugged on Rory’s arm.

Amelia snuck out of the console room with Rory leaving behind one of her Doctor dolls where they sat. The Doctor wouldn’t notice that they were gone and it would give time for Rory and Amelia to play cowboys and Indians a bit. Amelia didn’t really understand why she knew where she was she just knew that she was with her best friend and didn’t have time for boring lectures. ”Come on Rory! I’ll let you be the cowboy…” Rory and Amelia ran along the hallways of the TARDIS pretending to shoot guns and bow and arrows at each other, she laughed at Rory when he tripped on his trousers that were much to large for him. That was another thing that was odd, Amelia couldn’t explain why she was wearing a nightie that much to large for her. She didn’t worry too much about it though she was more intent on finding the cowboy and seek revenge for taking her land. Amelia went to her room, not her room their room, Rory and Ameila shared a room. Things still weren’t making sense as she opened the door and waited for Rory to come find her. A few moments later a semi frightened Rory appeared through the door. Perfect! Amelia would be able to scare the wits out of him. She jumped out with an Indian call to which Rory screamed. ”You invaded my land an’ now you shall pay the price!” Amelia grabbed Rory’s arm and proceeded to give him an ‘indian burn’ and Rory let out another scream with a complaint about her hurting him. ”Come on Rory don’t be such a pansy! Or I’ll scalp ya.” To this Rory ran and dove onto the bed with Amelia at his heels. She reached and pulled a chunk of hair but to Amelia’s surprise the hair pulled off in her hands. She knew that she would be in trouble now and she had never meant to really hurt Rory she was just playing a game after all. It was then that the Doctor barged into the room with a shocked face. ”I didn’t mean to!”

Amy was having the strangest dream or was it a memory. It felt so real but as hard as she tried to hold onto it the faster it faded away as dreams often do, but she could hear the Doctor’s voice like it was in a long tunnel. A snapping noise came closer and the Doctor called her name again and she opened her eyes startled. The Doctor commented on her snoring and she looked around she was in the medical room, the question was why? The Doctor indicated that she should open her mouth and she did obediently. She trusted that whatever had happened the Doctor would know what to do… or at least pretend to until he figured it out. The Doctor looked into her eyes then and made a comment about her in her nightie. Amy looked down and felt the heat of anger as she brought her hand up and smacked the Doctor hard across the face. ”Git.”

With the help of Rory, Amy stumbled along the corridor. Rory as always fussed about how Amy was but she kept him in the right track as she mumbled ”Ask him wha’s up.” The Doctor answered quickly and avoidably to Rory about them crashing into an anti time field. That didn’t sound good, and properly woke Amy out of her half sleep. ”Did he just say nothing important and not to worry in the same sentence?” Rory confirmed and Amy bolted after the Doctor.

She ran after him and finally caught up with him. ”Doctor!” The Doctor tried to get them off subject but Amy stood her ground pursing her lips and crossing her arms. ”Wha’s an anti-time field and don’t say its nothin’ to worry about because you usually say that when there is somethin’ to worry about.” Rory may have been new to being with the Doctor and going through the song and dance of understanding of what the Doctor really meant at certain times but this was far from the first time that she had traveled to a new location or been in some kind of trouble with the Doctor and she knew better.

Blah blah blah blah. The Doctor really liked to talk a lot. Usually, Rory could be a good listener, but he didn't like the Doctor. He annoyed him, and he didn't like that Amelia was always talking about him. He was jealous, not that he'd admit that. So, when he was being tugged out of the room, Rory was happy to go, though he nearly face planted due to stepping on his trousers. Why were they suddenly so long? In fact, why did everything seem so big? He gripped his trousers, pulling them up as he ran after Amelia. She probably had something to do with this - she usually did. But he still followed her, because he had to. Some of the other kids told him she had cooties, but he'd asked a doctor and learned there was no such thing. He just had to ignore the other dangers that came along with being her best friend.

"Let me" be the cowboy? She always made him be the cowboy. Because then she could be the Indian and be chased after only to hurt him when he finally found her, and he couldn't do anything about it because it was her land. Apparently. And they followed that pattern exactly when he entered their room, only to be attacked and pulled at in the usual way. The result? There was a chunk of his hair in her hand before he could even realize what had happened. He started screaming. Whether it was from the pain or the fact that he was literally missing hair, that was hard to say. It was probably the latter. "Meanie!" he yelled at her, pointing in an accusatory manner as the Doctor entered. Rory couldn't remember much after that, until he woke up in the medical room.

He stared at the nearby mirror, scanning his head in all directions while the Doctor was fussing - or, more like examining - and poking at wires and shoving his screwdriver every which way. He ignored the orders to stay still, and instead was staring at himself, trying to make sure he wasn't going to change back. And figuring out from which angles the bald spot could be seen. It was, unfortunately, most of them. When the mirror was taken away, Rory had no choice but to silently fume and then try to get some answers. "So, uh... what was that? Does that usually happen?" he asked. He still wasn't quite sure what was normal for the Doctor and what wasn't. By the looks of his reaction, this wasn't normal (at least, Rory hoped it wasn't).

The Doctor didn't answer, and Amy prompted him to ask what was going on. "What's going on here, Doctor?" he asked, obediently. Ignored, of course. He asked a little louder as he and Amy were half-running after him. There was an answer, but it wasn't a very good one. "Did he just say nothing important and not to worry in the same sentence?" Rory nodded. "Yup." Along with anti-time field too. Rory wasn't sure what that was, but it certainly didn't sound like nothing important not to worry about to him. The Doctor tried to lead them away from the topic, but Amy stood her ground, and Rory, somewhat reluctantly, joined. "Yeah, we're not getting dressed until... we... know what's going on," he insisted, losing confidence as he spoke, and then made a face. That hadn't come out exactly as he'd intended. He felt a bit ridiculous, and decided to take a step back and allow Amy to handle this.

The Doctor snorted at what Rory said about 'knowing what's going on' and crossed his arms, "What? You two NEVER know whats going on - makes it more fun doesn't it?" when they just stared at him the Doctor lowered his arms and cleared his throat, "You know, I don't see what all the fuss is about - you were both as cute as buttons, beats being pregnant again doesn't it Am- alright alright!" raising his hands when Rory started to shout and Amy took a step up to the platform the Doctor cleared his throat, "No need to sik your bloody girlfriend on me Rory - blimey, alright look... you were both covered in anti-time radiation alright? It was like you just took a bath in the stuff,"

When the TARDIS made a slight gurgling sound Amy suddenly reached into her nightie and produced a palm-mirror so she could look at herself - causing the the Doctor to laugh as she shoved Rory out of the way when he tried to see himself too, "Look, somehow the TARDIS found a nice little anti-time pool to frisk through and you two got changed... a little," snickering slightly when Amy asked how pre-PUBERTY could be 'little' the Doctor shrugged and said, "Like I said, beats lugging a baby around doesn't it?" yelping when she tossed the mirror at him the Doctor slid under the console and came up the other side, "The TARDIS - dear old girl - is an EXTREMELY complicated temporal event, you two are about as complicated as a teenager and an ice pop in the sun shine. Now,"

Leaning on the console the Doctor sighed, "When the anti-time field was flushed through the TARDIS it changed you two for a few minutes because you were an easy way to express that energy - like a jumped circuit causing a short when it takes the fastest route possible. Luckily the TARDIS is insulated against shorts and I'M a licensed electrician so we got you two sorted out before anything was shorted out... otherwise Rory might have to kick you again Pond," noticing the red-head rubbing at her thigh where little Rory had kicked her out of the bed. The Doctor stole another snicker when Amy glared at him and asked why HE wasn't affected and said, "Pond I'm a WAY more complicated temporal event than either of you - no way it could change me, or I'd even feel it,"

Pulling out his sonic screwdriver the Doctor began to draw in the air with it - like a graph though you couldn't see anything, "Think of Time like a river - it's not REALLY a river but just think of it that way. There are places where the river LOOKS shallow but it's ACTUALLY very deep - sink holes and ledges where you could drown despite being able to stand next to the very same spot without seeing or feeling anything," the Doctor snapped his fingers and grinned, "Anti-Time is the inverse of Time - the sink holes in the water - if you could 'swim' through those sink holes you could access underwater caves or whole other parts of the river it would usually take longer to reach. Anti-Time is a place where the normal laws of time and space don't apply - where you can 'swim' to whole other parts of time or access whole events just by thinking about it,"

The Doctor shrugged, "Problem is that anti-time only occurs after a temporal incursion; and not for very long or very big a space. There's no chance of the TARDIS running into a field THAT big," suddenly the lights inside the TARDIS went out and all fell silence, "Sh! Be quiet you two!" the Doctor hissed at them as the couple grouped to find each other, "Do you two hear anything?" when Rory said no the Doctor nodded - though they couldn't see it, "Exactly... and do you know WHY you can't hear anything?" when Amy - a worried tone in her voice - asked why. The Doctor lowered his voice and said, "Because there are NO SOUNDS TO HEAR!"

There was a loud 'smack' followed by a shout of 'hey' and Amy rapidly apologizing to Rory - saying she was aiming for the Doctor - just as the lights came back on... blood red. By this time Rory and Amy had found each other... and the Doctor had found the TARDIS console. Ringed by explosions of sparks and smoke from the console as he ran from one end to the other (his goggles glistening in the light of the explosions) the Doctor continued flipping switches like mad as he shouted, "Pond! Flip the blue boringners - not YOU Rory! Get the zig-zag plotter!" the whole console room suddenly turned upside-down and the Doctor shouted in surprise as the place then turned on it's side, "Pond the BORINGERS!" when she growled at him that SHE was flipping them the Doctor swallowed, "I think we're in trouble..."

It was about then that Rory shouted that the plotting zig-zagger thing wasn't working either, "Right then! We're in trouble!" yanking down the TARDIS monitor the Doctor scowled when Rory asked if that should be happening and shook his head, "No Rory, Two is NOT a good number... in fact its a bad bad BAD number!" brushing past the two of them the Doctor began yanking levers - growling when Amy asked him WHY Two was a bad number, "It's the loneliest number since the number one of course!" activating the scanner the Doctor looked at the burning fires of the vortex... and the huge black 'tear' running along the far side of it, "That's impossible..."

Standing there in shock the Doctor pulled his goggles up from his eyes and his mouth fell open as he stared at the swirling and pulsing energies of the cortex beyond, "The size of it... we sholdn't even be able to 'sit' this close to it... the whole galaxy - never MIND the universe - should be puled THROUGH that hole!" when Amy asked him what they were looking at the Doctor shook his head, "We're looking at a jabberwocky Amy - something that isn't real. Can't be real... anti-time pockets are just that... pockets... for an anti-time pocket to STOP a TARDIS it would have to be... to be... well..." he pointed at the scanner, "Like that... but it would be all- all... BOOM!" he spread his arms, "Goodbye Doctor - brains leaking out ALL over..."

Suddenly the cloister bell began to sound... and with a 'groan' the lights all dimmed... save one red blinking one on the console, "No!!!" running towards the console the Doctor began pressing buttons and twiddling knobs like crazy... all to no result, "NO! No no no no no no no no no!" suddenly the light stopped flashing and became a steady droning red. Freezing where he was the Doctor looked up at Amy and smiled nervously as he said, "We've lost shields..."

Amy was furious. The Doctor usually never kept her in the dark, he would explain a tiny little thing for hours on end if he could when all he could have said was ‘turn left’ an experience that she had underneath her belt while traveling with the him. Amy stomped up the platform stairs to round on him, she glared menacingly as she heard Rory yell at him behind her. This situation was not something that one could joke their way out of and the more the Doctor avoided the question the more it made Amy worried that something was really wrong and that he didn’t want to scary her or Rory. The Doctor should have had more sense than that, Amy was always the stronger of the two and sometimes three of them and she knew that whatever had happened that it was no laughing matter.

The Doctor started to explain about an anti-time pool that had changed them into children. She was looking in her mirror for signs of the massive frizzy hair that she one had in middle school and her pimples to return in her pocket mirror. ”And how can you possibly classify that as getting changed a little The Doctor smirked and gave his reply about it being better than her being pregnant, again. Amy could have growled. She chucked the handheld mirror at his face as hard as she could, seven years of bad luck be damned. ”You jus’ wait fer the day that you ruddy get pregnant and then we’ll see who’s laughin’!!” that would wipe the smug smirk of his face.

The Doctor launched into a long explanation about the anti-time field again, Amy only half listened still bothered where she was sure a large bruise would blossom in the next few hours. ”Alright that explains us getting’ changed but how bout you?” there again was the smug face. Amy rolled her eyes as he said that he was way more complicated and that he hadn’t even felt the field. ”Don’t that make you all special.” It was good that Rory was there with them it was at that moment she felt his hand on her shoulder trying to help her come down a step from the anger that was brewing inside of her. She had stopped listening when he launched into the metaphor she would regain focus when he started his third explanation of what was going on. That was when everything made the most sense. Amy looked up and around when the lights went out. That wasn’t normal for the TARDIS and usually meant something was really bad. She heard the Doctor ask if they heard something and Rory’s answer when the Doctor asked why she heard herself answer in a small voice. ”Why?” The Doctor gave her a smart ass reply and she walked over to where she thought he was and smacked him HARD on the back of the head. When she heard Rory cry out she rubbed his head where she had smacked it. ”Ooh sorry”

Amy then saw the TARDIS illuminate in an eerie blood red color followed by her gripping the console tightly as explosions went off all around them. This was getting bad. The Doctor instructed her to flip the boringers which she did as soon as he said. Amy clutched tightly to the console again as the TARDIS lurched around in every direction. He yelled again for her to flip the boringers and she yelled back at him. ”I AM!!!” The Doctor had said that they were in trouble and Amy held tightly to the console trying feverishly for the TARDIS to respond not only to the boringers but to anything that she could try. ”You think so?!?”

The Doctor looked at the scanner and Amy stood next to him as he was rambling to himself saying that something was impossible. ”Wha’ is that?” The Doctor explained that it was obviously something bad enough to kill all of them by the sounds of it. ”All righ’ then how come its not? How come we’re just fine and safe here in the TARDIS? Amy wished that she had been near a piece of wood when she spoke since the cloister bell chimed loudly above her just as the words had slipped out. Then the Doctor smiled, it was the kind of smile that Amy hated, it meant something was really wrong. "We've lost shields..."

”WE WHAT?!?” Amy yelled. It was funny in an interesting sort of way how many emotions you can have with the Doctor in the little amount of time that you spent with him. A wooden slam came from her left and she saw the TARDIS doors had flung wide open, outside was nothing but white. Amy was reminded about the last time that she spent in a completely white place. ”Tha’s not the Axis is it?” Amy asked the Doctor nervously. She saw him bring out his sonic screwdriver and scan the white space by the doors. Amy walked quickly over to Rory and found his hand. If this was the Axis she did not want to be separated from her husband, she had lost him too many times in the past… and well future, and didn’t want to have him leave her side. A huge gush of wind hit them, Amy had never felt anything like it. It wasn’t cold or warm it felt more heavy than anything else like the air was full of something. Amy gripped Rory’s hand hard. She heard the Doctor frantically trying more buttons on the console but the TARDIS wasn’t responding to anything. Then Amy had the strangest feeling like she was being pulled, not by Rory, but by the heavy wind. She heard the Doctor suggest that she and Rory might want to hold on to each other. No sooner than she had time to grip onto Rory and him to her she felt herself be yanked out of the TARDIS.

The brilliant white light became dark and the next thing that Amy saw wasn’t white or black when she opening her eyes, it was blue. It took her a moment to adjust her eyes but upon closer inspection she saw the blue was actually blue… grass. Amy lifted her pounding head off the ground and looked around. ”Rory? Doctor?” she looked around and even though she knew it was cliché she mumbled it to herself. ”I don’ think we’re in Kansas anymore.”

There was a loud ripping, tearing sound as the doors to the console room were suddenly torn open. Spinning around as he saw a huge white emptyness beyond the Doctor grinned, "Oh!" hopping down from the main platform the Doctor ran towards the door frame. Yanking his sonic screwdriver out the Doctor gave the field a quick scan and then looked at the read out at the back of the screwdriver, "Well THAT'S new... and bad... and ah.... very very very... that's not good," running back towards the console the Doctor pulled his goggles back over his eyes and plugged the screwdriver into the console. There was a grumbling, whirring sound and the viewscreen at the far side of the console room lit up, "Look at that - I mean can you even GRASP that? It's amazing!" the huge pile of Gallifreyan text - coupled with dozens of other languages - spilled over the screen. Blinking his eyes the Doctor crossed his arms as Rory came up behind him and said, "Yeah I can... yeah, that's... wow that's a BIG problem!"

Glancing at Amy the skinny nurse looked nervous as he said, "Well isn't it obvious?" when the Doctor turned around to stare at him - Amy joining the stare - Rory cleared his throat, "I've uh... headache, yeah, you'd better explain it Doctor - ya know, lay mind an' all?" staring at Rory the Doctor smirked and said, "It's nothing," Rory nodded, "Right - exactly what I thought," running over to the side of the console the Doctor brought down the miniature screen and pointed at some more legible text, "See? It lacks depth, height, weight... despite the fact that we can see it; it SHOULDN'T be see... able... le... at all," pointing at the swirling vaporous pile of 'nothing' the Doctor shrugged, "It's like it's not even part of this dimension at all - a great big... erk of nothing,"

Swallowing Rory looked at Amy, taking her hand as he asked, "Doctor... it ripped the doors off - I may not know everything about this box of yours, but what if it can reach us? What if it can be... 'nothing' inside the TARDIS?" glancing at Amy when she brought up the Axis Rory looked confused as the Doctor said, "No - of course not, absolutely NOT... well... mostly, the power to just tear through the TARDIS doesn't exist anymore - and the Axis doesn't deal with this sort of thing. If they did we certainly wouldn't see it," suddenly the whole console room began to shake and the Doctor winced as a high-pitched whistling sound could be heard, "The TARDIS! WHAT'S WRONG?!" Rory tried to shout over the shrieking wind, "WE'RE LOSING ATMOSPHERE CONTAINMENT!"

Holding tightly to Amy, Rory shouted, "IS THAT BAD?!" struggling with the containment field controls the Doctor shouted, "ON A SCALE OF ONE TO TEN WITH ONE BEING THE ABSOLUTE-" suddenly the hat rack at the far end of the TARDIS made a loud bang as it was sucked through the doors - the Doctor's jacket following suite along with one of Amy's dolls, "YES IT'S BAD!" struggling to hold onto the console the Doctor shouted, "RORY!" as Amy lost her grip on the stairs. Grabbing onto his wife Rory groaned as he almost felt his arm being torn out of socket - his grip on the stair-bar failing as he struggled to hold onto Amy and the stars at the same time, "YOU MIGHT WANT TO HOLD ON TO SOMETHING!" the Doctor shouted just as they were whisked through the doors.

Slamming his fist against the console the Doctor wrapped his hands around the console as the cloister bell began to ring louder and louder. Looking up at the console screen as it lowered itself to his level the Doctor raised an eyebrow in surprise, "Oh you've got to... look don't you remember what happened last time? And that was only with the personality. This could..." biting his lower lip the Doctor stuffed his sonic scrwedriver into his pocket and swallowed, "I guess it's that or be blasted..." adjusting his tie the Doctor tightened the strap on his goggles and shouted, "GERONIMO!" as the wind yanked him off his feet and through the doors.

The first thing Rory was aware of when he woke up was that he could smell... dirt? The next thing was the realization that he couldn't move. Waving his arms around Rory was shocked when a shrill squeak sounded from the 'weight' above him and he could suddenly lift his face out of the dirt. Shaking his head the skinny nurse spat out a mouthful of sod and yelped when Amy wrapped him in a hug and asked him if he knew where the Doctor was, "Yes I'm fine," he said irritably, "Don't worry," shaking his head Rory spat out some more dirt and said, "I didn't see much of anything dear - you sitting on me and all, I don't know where-" suddenly Rory spotted a prone figure lying in the blue grass... blue GRASS?! Looking around himself in shock Rory tore a handful of sod from where he was kneeling and let it drop to the ground, "Okay... blue grass..." by this time Amy had reached the prone figure. He was absolutely naked from the waist up - a very old man wearing nothing but a pair of suspenders, pants and a pair of dirty looking socks and boots that were much too big for him.

As Amy knelt to examine him Rory said, "Kinda looks like the Doctor..." when Amy called the Doctor's name the old man's left hand suddenly popped up and he put it over her mouth, "Do be quiet Amy - my head feels like someone sat on it," Rory stifled a smirk at that - wilting under the glare Amy fired in his direction - and the old man rolled his eyes when Amy grabbed him by the suspenders and tried to threaten him into telling her where the Doctor was, "You really do have quite the temper first thing in the morning eh Pond?" Rory's eyes went wide when he said that. The comment was so... him, and the age in his eyes - the way he smiled - made Rory say, "Doctor?" unfortunately that thought vanished from his head as a tiny blur suddenly came flying out of the bushes and jumped on top of Amy sending her stumbling backwards and shoving the old man into the bushes.

Yelping in surprise as Amy fell on top of him AGAIN Rory scowled, "Look just because I wouldn't give you that snog in the bushes doesn't mean-" but by then the blur had changed 'hosts' and Amy was sitting on the grass with the blur - revealed to be a boy with messy dark brown hair - squeezing the daylights out of him. He was also half naked - only the Doctor's white undershirt and bowtie (both far too large for the boy) hanging on him as Rory managed to get out the question, "WHAT is going on?!" the boy grinned madly, squeezing Rory once more and then jumping on top of Amy again, "No clue no clue!" the boy said, hugging Amy, "Isn't that great Amy?" the boy asked as he poked Amy's nose and smiled.

Having seen that gesture used to get him into trouble half a million times before Rory's mouth fell open, "Wait... Doctor?" suddenly a high-pitched twitter of a laugh sounded behind them, "Not quite Rory - but you're on the right track, so maybe I can explain all this," spinning around Rory's mouth fell open as a diminutive woman with long dark hair - wearing nothing but the Doctor's tweed jacket and his goggles - dropped down from one of the tree's that was inside the bushes behind them. Watching the woman's long smooth legs make their way over to them Rory's eyes got wider and wider... until Amy (her mouth hanging open) put her hand over his eyes and squeaked out, Doctor?!" just as the old man came stumbling out of the bushes muttering, "You're not far off Amelia," the woman said as the boy let go of Amy and ran to the woman - jumping up and down until she picked him up and perched him on her hip, "WE are the Doctor,"

Raising his finger Rory said, "Uh Amy... if you wouldn't mind-" but instead of getting his eyes uncovered all Rory got was a slug in the shoulder, "Relax Pond," the old man said with a scowl. Smiling warmly the woman laughed, "Really, it's not as bad as you think," the boy nodded, "Yup, dunno what's goin on - but I bet we can have a lot of fun with it!"

She felt something move beneath her and then groan. Amy moved off of Rory as quickly as possible, ”Where’s the Doctor? Did you see him? Where did he land” She wrapped her arms around him tightly if there was one person in the universe that she would choose to be lost with it was Rory. Although The Doctor was the one person that could get them unlost. Amy could hear the annoyance in his voice but she didn’t care he knew that she loved him and only him and if he didn’t well then he was just as dumb as he looked. The cute idiot. He was admiring the blue grass and exclaiming his shock, ”Yeah gives a whole new view on where country music came from don’t it.” Amy looked around them. She couldn’t see where the TARDIS was or where the Doctor could have landed. She had been in this kind of situation before and hoped rather than trusted that The Doctor would show up sooner rather than later, but in this situation it made her anxious. The Doctor was no where and the TARDIS was no where, which meant that she and Rory would have to work this out on their own.

It was then that she saw him, or was it him? She had no idea who it was to be honest and giving his age he was wearing too little of clothes for what he needed. Amy hit Rory’s arm and made him look at the old man wearing a pair of trousers and suspenders. Rory remarked and said that it kind of looked like the Doctor and he was right. Amy could see a resemblance to the man and the youthful Doctor she had come to know. ”Doctor is that you?” she called out as he approached. The man promptly put his hand over Amy’s mouth and told her to be quiet. She backed away and caught a hint of a smile and she glared in his direction. This wasn’t right … this didn’t feel like Amy’s Doctor. She grabbed the man by the suspenders and yanked him towards her. ”You’re not the Doctor… So that means you must’a done somthin’ to him… Where is he!” When the old man commented on her anger she was taken back and she looked confused at him as she let her grip fall from the man. She stepped back from him and looked at him trying to figure out if this really was her Doctor.

Amy only had a mere moment to take a look until she felt something hit her hard and squeeze around her waist. The weight made her loose balance and she grabbed Rory for support to no avail. She toppled over with Rory and whatever had hit her along her middle, she sat up quickly and looks to see what had hit her when she heard a little boy giggle. It was a boy a small boy wearing a white undershirt, a bow tie and had brown hair and a smile that reminded Amy very much like… The boy ran to Amy again and answered Rory’s question saying he didn’t know and then asked Amy if that was great. The boy then did something that only one person had ever done, he tapped the tip of her nose and smiled the familiar smile again.

It wasn’t long until Amy heard a third voice that made her jump, but this voice was different than the rest. This was a woman’s voice. Amy saw a woman, in Amy’s opinion a very attractive woman wearing nothing but the Doctors goggles and Tweed jacket. The outfit didn’t leave much to the imagination and Amy felt it important to make sure Rory’s imagination stayed well intact. She covered his eyes quickly and looked back at the woman. ”Doctor?!” The woman called her Amelia… the name the Doctor called her on occasion. Amy sat transfixed at the site. An old man, a boy, and a woman.

”WE are the Doctor” Amy didn’t know what to say ,she didn’t know what to think. She had been in messes with the Doctor a fair few times but nothing like this. She felt Rory try to release his eyes and she punched him hard on the shoulder ”Oh I’m sure… just perv the female Doctor I’m sure that’s just what he’ll want…. Or .. she’ll?” Amy heard the old man told her to relax in an angry tone and the woman told her it wasn’t as bad as she thought. The little boy with all his excitement said he didn’t know what was going on but that they would have a lot of fun.

Amy shook her head it was like she was talking to the Doctor… but she wasn’t… none of these personages alone were the Doctor… they were personality traits of the Doctor but not him. ”All right… good trick… but no one’s fallin’ for it. Now where is the Doctor, you tell me or so help me I will…” Amy was never good at the threat part she was merely a master at intimidation. ”Just tell me where he is, and the TARDIS and we will leave you alone and I am sure the Doctor will be able to find you,” She pointed at the woman. ”Some nice habit to wear.”

The 'woman' burst out laughing at Amy's comment that she needed a habit, "Really now Amelia? Shall we talk about your... trousers? Hm? If you don't have to-" wriggling free of the woman's grip the boy dropped to the ground and began hopping up and down (apparently being still for too long had bored him and he needed to move around despite having nothing to offer in the conversation) as Rory said, "Uh actually that's my favorite outfit and-" getting another slug in the shoulder Rory yelped when an unseen hand hit him in the other shoulder, "I like hitting Rory!" the boy shouted with a wild cackle as the woman grabbed him by the trousers and tugged him backwards, "We'll think about the psychological repercussions about that later dear - as I was just telling Amelia-"

There was a loud growl as the old man said, "Oh for PITY'S SAKE!"" as he struggled to pull himself out of the bushes, "Will you just get to the point?!" clicking her tongue against her teeth the woman said, "Right then, the three of us - me, the boy and the old man, are the Doctor - every time he regenerates several distinct traits are tallied along with his gender, hair color, eye color and... okay, maybe a little obvious," Rory sighed - his eyes still covered - and said, "Just go with simple," snapping her fingers the woman said, "Right you are Roranicus - we are concentrations of each of the BILLIONS of aspects that are 'considered' whenever the Doctor changes. Different 'balances' of the Doctor's personality SPLIT into three distinct people,"

Finally prying himself free of the largest bush the old man kicked it and said, "Each of us governs certain areas of the Doctor's traits - all of those traits, those aspects have merged to create us," tickling the underside of Amy's arm Rory grinned when she giggled and yanked her arm back. Finally able to see again he darted out of her reach and said, "Look I dunno 'bout Amy - but you've explained the WHAT part... now... about the HOW?" looking at each other the 'incarnations' all seemed a bit confused, "Oh c'mon! You must have SOME idea... a hint?" rolling his eyes the old man sighed and bent over to pull stickers out of his socks, "You always were a demanding little sod," scowling the woman said, "Come come now - Amy loves Rory, you should be nice to him - he's very pretty after all,"

Bouncing up and down the boy shouted, "RORY'S FUN!" as he tackled Rory with a big hug. Grinning at Amy the woman said, "Whatever happened SHOULD be easy to figure out I mean - we ARE the Doctor, aren't we?" her grin widening the woman nodded when Amy finally returned the grin, "Hey... alright then, if you believe in us we can do anything!" sitting on Rory the boy said, "Yay! And we might get to see a brand new planet! New creatures! Thrills! ADVENTURE! EXCITEMENT!" hopping off of Rory the boy ran over to Amy and started dragging her along the grass, "LETS GO!" holding his hand up the old man said, "That's about enough out of you Mr. happy midget - and don't tell me to be quiet She-with-no-pants," he said with a scowl in the womans direction, "Whatever split us up isn't in any of our memories - the Doctor, which is who we are part of, would have KNOWN something like that... if we don't know it, either he blocked it off or the knowledge was taken,"

Staring at he old man with wide eyes the boy said, "Do you mean... it might be... DANGEROUS?" the way his eyes came to light you might have thought he'd just said there was chocolate in the next room, though the old man said, "I'm saying, midget; that it IS dangerous!" rolling his eyes the old man pointed at Amy and Rory, "What needs to happen is that you two stay here," then he pointed at his counterparts, "And keep THEM out of trouble! If you want the Doctor back they might be needed - and whatever is out... wherever it is we are, it can surely handle these two idiots without-"

Suddenly a loud whistle sounded and everyone put their hands over their ears. Looking over at Rory - who was holding a coaches whistle that he'd just blown into - the young nurse said, "Not to get in the way of all this fighting - the old man and... this.... woman wrestling on the gound... well, wouldn't mind that - though if it was AMY and you...-" getting a glare from both of the girls Rory cleared his throat and said, "Uh... never mind, anyway uh..." he slowly pointed at a dirt path that led into a little 'town' about a mile from where they were, "Is that normal? I mean... that town wasn't there before," grinning the boy grabbed the goggles from the woman, put them on and said, "Oooooh! Look! A big clocky thing!" he let out a loud cheer, "I LOVE big clocky things! Big clocky things have got ME written all over them!"

Glaring at the old man the woman put her hand on Amy's shoulder (having to stand on her tip-toes as she was almost a foot shorter than Amy) and said, "Whatever we do Amelia, we need to get some clothes for the three of us... before you have to blindfold your husband," blushing at the glare he was shot Rory tried to hide behind the boy as the woman tugged on her only clothing article (the Doctor's jacket) and said, "Right then... trousers ho!"

*****************

"Bugger!" shouted the diminutive woman as she threw her umpteenth 'outfit' over her shoulder. Glancing over at Amy who was having 'girl time' with 'the woman' Rory let out a yelp when the boy dragged him down another row of toys, paintings and whatever caught his eye. Amy seemed to be enjoying her 'lectures' on clothing but the woman - right now clothed in just a blue robe - had rejected every suggestion she'd made so far. The old man had been dressed within five minutes of arriving within the town - though he seemed to have wandered off saying he was 'missing something' and then vanished "This is ridiculous - eleventh!" the woman shouted as she grabbed the mirror she was standing in front of and stared into it, "Regenerated into almost a dozen different forms - pulled on a hat, a coat, adjusted my belt and gone on..."

Picking up a fedora the woman pulled it on... and the hat slid down over her head, "But WOMEN!" throwing the hat into the pile the woman dropped to her knees and began digging again, "WHOLE new wardrobe..." muttering to herself the woman said, "Omega why did you have to design a hand? Everyone has a hand... why didn't you make a bra? Or some sort of gravity-field that meant I didn't have to wear one of those blasted things..." holding up one of the 'frilly' unmentionables the woman shook it like it was diseased and threw it away, "And I still don't see why I can't just wear boxers or something - knickers... knickers knickers knickers knickers kniiiiiiickers... who came up with that word anyway?"

Having wrestled himself free of the boy Rory came up behind Amy and the Woman, scratched his head and said, "Just put on a tee-shirt and a skirt or something - you've got Amy to help you, when it comes to style she's always got it," jumping to her bare-feet the woman wrapped Amy in a hug, "Ah Amelia to the rescue as always - I'm sure you can..."pausing mid-hug the woman raised an eyebrow and took a few steps back. Putting her hand on top of her head the Woman then closed one eye - measuring her 'height' in comparison to Amy - and shook her head, "Oh dear..." looking Amy up and down the woman took hold of the collar of the blue robe she was wearing, pulled it forward slightly, closed one eye and then let go of her collar and sighed, "Or maybe not..."

Noticing the look on his wife's face Rory winced and started to say something - only for Amy to shove him out of the changing area, "Look I'm sure she didn't mean-" calling over her shoulder as she held up a white scarf and a pink coat the woman said, "Don't feel bad Amelia - I'm sure you can't help it - it's like comparing apples and melons really, I'm sure we'll figure something out..." Poking his head back in Rory said, "You mean apples and oranges!" nodding absentmindedly the woman said, "Yes that too," that was about when Amy shouted out 'BOY!' which brought the 'happy midget', "There's this GIANT robot toy Amy! You've gotta see it! It goes like whoosh and zoom and-" watching Amy as she knelt down to his eye level the boy grinned when she said she was busy but that Rory would love to see it. Scowling at as the boy grabbed his arm Rory shouted, "Hey that's cheating!" scowling at the wink and comment Amy fired at him Rory kissed her on the cheek just as he was yanked out of reach, "You owe me one - and not just for hogging all the good stuff AGAIN,"

After the comment on her build, Amy was not happy. She felt a tug at her arm and knelt down to hear how the boy wanted to show her a toy robot. ”I am sure its amazin’ but I can’t right now… You know who LOVES robots? Rory! He would love to see it after you get some clothes on, okay?” Amy stood up and caught Rory’s glare. He told her that it was cheating and Amy winked at him. He gave her a swift kiss on the cheek and she pushed Rory out and pointed with the miniature Doctor. ”Go find him some clothes and roll your tongue back up in your head.” She heard him say she owes him one and Amy just laughed to herself.

It felt like she was there forever and clothes would be thrown over the stall door in intermittent spurts. Amy stood there impatient and checking the mirror every two or three minutes. She didn’t think she was –that- flat chested, but apparently the Doctor… or some form of him did. Amy was getting yet another of rejected items dumped on her from the female Doctor and Amy sighed. ”Look, I know that it’s hard to try and find an outfit al’right? I’m a girl I get it, and I would be glad of the fact that the Doctor.. I mean –you- would finally understand a bit of what goes on in a woman’s head when she is trying to get ready…. “ Another batch of clothes we rejected. ”But don’t you think that we should… oh I don’t know… Find the TARDIS and get this fixed?” The female Doctor came out of the stall wearing a skin tight tube dress and 4 inch heels. Amy felt like she was somehow trying to push it in Amy’s face that she was… ‘well endowed.’ ”No!” Amy went to push the woman Doctor in the stall when she stopped someone that worked in the shop to ask what time it was.

The sales person looked confused as he looked at the female Doctor.”I’m sorry what?” The femme Doctor asked again speaking a little more slowly this time. The sales person looked at the Doctor with a look as if she were crazy. ”What’s time?” The sales person had a bit of a grin as if the woman Doctor was going to tell him the pun of some kind of joke. Amy looked at the sales person and didn’t see any sign of recognition of what the word time even was.”You mean you don’t know what -time- is… Time… you’ve never heard that word? Ever?”

The woman Doctor, obviously having inherited the keen sense of knowing when Amy was getting impatient or angry put a hand on her shoulder and whispered that there must be a glitch in the translation circuits. The woman Doctor then tries to explain (just as her Doctor would have) the word time to the man as to get the word that he would use. The sales person just stood there looking between the two women. ”You have absolutely no idea what we’re talkin’ bout, do you?” She looked at the man’s wrists and then to the walls, surely there was some type of watch or clock they had seen one when they walked into the town. Something that was huge and looked like a clock tower. But as she looked around now there was no devices anywhere that told time, not even a little stand for cheap watches that were in every store. Amy felt a rush of dread fill the pit of her stomach. The sales person looked up and down the female doctor with a lustful gaze. ”Looks like you found just the right one.” Amy stood in front of the woman Doctor and glared at the man ”She’ll need a few for minutes.” Taking the hint the sales man walks away from them. Amy turned slowly feeling that this was not just bad, it was really bad. She looked up to see the woman Doctor smiling in a way that was all too familiar to Amy. ”Looks like your reign is over TIME-lord…”

Staring down at herself in the tube dress when Amy shouted NO at her the woman clicked her tongue against her teeth, "You might be right... no pockets in this outfit - maybe if I added one over each-" as Amy went to shove her back into the stall the Woman grinned at her questions about shouldn't they try to fix this and said, "Oh don't worry so much Amelia - I'm already working on that!" literally 'slithering' her way out of Amy's grip the woman teetered (as she still wasn't used to the heels) over to another rack and, glancing at salesman asked, "Excuse me dear," she said with a motherly grin, ignoring the fact that the young man's eyes almost popped out of his head when he got a full look at her, "Do you know what time it is?"

Maintaining her smile as he asked what 'time' was the Woman made another 'tsk' sound with her tongue and then went back to digging through racks of clothing, "Do... you... know... what... time... it... is?" she said slowly as she yanked first one shoe off, then another followed by one stocking from each leg as she then yanked a pair of baggy pants off a rack and began to hop up from one leg to the other as she pulled them up. Untying her bright blonde hair from the tight crop she'd been holding it in the Woman let it spill about her shoulders as Amy tried to get the idea of 'time' through to the salesman. Skipping past Amy when she started to lose her temper the woman began to tug the tube-dress off as she put her hand on Amy's shoulder and said, "It MUST be a problem with the translation circuits, right Amelia? Eh?"

Standing there in a bra and a baggy pair of pants the woman grabbed a white shirt from the floor and began to slide it on, "Lets see here my good man, the passing of one event into another - the result of one thing happening AFTER something else has happened," when the man just stared at the two of them the Woman grinned at Amy, "Curiouser and curiouser," she said, like a Cheshire cat who was almost admonishing Amy for thinking that she was anything LESS than the Doctor. Grabbing a black dinner jacket from the floor - the had a matching skirt hanging from it - the woman pitched the skirt over her shoulder and then began sliding the jacket on as Amy tried to find some sort of 'time piece' around them.

Watching as Amy chased the salesman off the Woman grinned when she said that her reign was over, "Well I'm not technically a Time Lord anyway," spinning around she began primping herself in front of the mirror, "Time Lady technically speaking - there is a difference, usually depending on the gender of the regeneration you're currently inhabiting but," she shrugged and made a kissing-face in the mirror, "Not sure about the lips... mouth is a bit too big, and the eyes are a bit too round... nose... yes, I feel I can get used to that for as long as I have to have it, though I can see now how lucky I was or he was or whatever... almost wish... but no, if wishes were horses then I'd be home for Christmas,"

Spinning around - her baggy pants making a 'whoosh' sound as she moved. She wriggled her purple-painted toes into a pair of flip-flops and spread her arms, "What do you think?" when Amy opened her mouth the woman snapped her fingers, "No! WAIT!" running over to a shelf she yanked a bright-red fabric scarf off and laid it over her shoulders. Spreading her arms wide again she looked down at herself, "Something is still... ah!" finally she tugged a Hawaiian Lei arrayed with purple flowers off of the shelf and draped it over her head, "A Lei..." suddenly her voice changed, "Lei's are cool," the tone and mannerism of the Doctor himself coming through before the woman stumbled backwards and shook her head, "Oh..."

Almost falling over she seemed surprised when Amy caught her. Looking up at Amy from where she was half-sitting and half standing the woman swallowed, her face slightly pale, and straightened up, "Oh... sorry about that, I'm alright - some sort of a hiccup... like I was in contact with myself - ALL of myself - for a second..." touching the Lei the woman scowled when nothing happened this time, "Phooey..." she muttered. A look of horror spread over her face, "Oh dear... phooey... dddddddd..." scrunching her face up the woman drug the dddd sound out for another minute before saying, "Ddddagnabbit!" covering her mouth the woman blinked, "This body doesn't swear... well that's just rubbish that is - phooey?! Whose going to be scared of PHOOEY?!"

Sprinting past Amy as they heard voices the woman raised a finger to her mouth as Amy came up behind her, held up three fingers and after she'd 'counted' them down two... one... she leapt out from behind a stall and grabbed the smaller of the two voices, "Now hold still dear!" the woman shouted as the boy struggled to get free as she yanked his baggy clothes off and crammed him into a pair of jeans followed by a pair of sneakers, "Phooey! Don't be such a baby - you can't go around half nake- yaah!" squealing when he licked her up the arm the woman took off after the boy when he broke free and ran into a pile of clothes.

Blinking at the hub-bub as the woman chased the boy form one stall to another Rory came up behind Amy and said, "Not to say anything against the Doctor... really... but uh... is it just me or does that kid seem the most LIKE him?" smiling at Amy's giggle Rory let his arms slide around her middle, kissed the side of her neck and said, "Hope any kids we end up with aren't that... bizarre... though if their anything like you," shaking his head Rory grinned at his wife and then snapped his fingers as he let go of Amy, "That reminds me - the boy gave me this," reaching into his vest Rory pulled out the Doctor's wrist-watch and handed it to Amy, "He said he couldn't find one - that none of the adults had one,"

Rory grinned as Amy examined it, "Then he said that Adults HAD to have some 'piece' of time - because if they didn't then how could they lose it?" when Amy didn't respond Rory tilted his head to one side, "Amy?" there was a shout from behind him and Rory spun around... to see the woman now dragging a fully-dressed little boy back towards them by his ear, "And that should teach you to stop being such a br... br... oh! Phooey! To not be so naughty!" grinning up at her wickedly the boy said, "I LIKE to be naughty, so there!" sticking his tongue out the boy scampered out of her reach and hid behind Amy. Shaking her head the woman watched Rory examine her and raised an eyebrow, "What?"

Trying not to laugh Rory said, "You look... well... a little strange, not as strange as him-" he said, nodding at the little boy wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans held up by a pair of TARDIS-blue suspenders along with a pair of sneakers and the Doctor's red bowtie, "But still... hardly flattering," the woman shrugged, "I don't need to look flattering - I'm the Doctor... well, part of him anyway. And my job AS the Doctor is to look COOL, remember that Roranicus, look COOL... not that you ever have any TROUBLE with that of course," she said with a wink as she turned away from him and Rory's mouth fell open at the flirt/insult he'd just been... gifted with.

Staring at Amy the skinny Nurse said, "It's like there's TWO of you now..." as an idea seemed to pass over his face a naughty 'Rory' grin appeared and he said, "Well... that might not be so-"

Amy looked at the female doctor puzzled ”Phooey?!?” Amy had never heard the Doctor use a pointless word such as phooey. On occasion she would hear him off thousands of words that were meaningless, since he liked to ramble, but every word he used meant something to him. Phooey is the kind of word that the Doctor would not have allowed. ”Did you just say-“ but her question was cut off but the apparent word vomit that the female Doctor was producing. ”Dag-wha'?” Amy couldn’t help but let out a giggle as the femme Doctor struggled to swear. That was enjoyable to watch in any form of the Doctor’s. The she-Doctor’s frustration was starting show as she asked who was going to be afraid of phooey. Amy continued to laugh, ”I don’t know but I for one am terrified.” she giggled.

She saw the she Doctor run past her as if she were in pursuit of something. The mini Doctor came up and with all his effort started to fight the woman tooth and nail to get dressed. Amy felt the warm familiar arms wrap themselves around her waist and she held him there for a moment. As much as Amy loved traveling with the Doctor it was wonderful having Rory there to share the madness with her.

He murmured into her ear and said that he thought that the kid was the most like the Doctor. ”I migh' have to argue with you there. She talks like the Doctor does… a mile a second. Though she is a bi' less profane as he is.” She felt Rory’s lips brush the side of her neck and she smiled. She would only tell him on certain occasions, but she was sure that he knew already that she loved when he would kiss her sweetly and randomly, it was one of her favorite things about Rory. He started to talk about their kids and nearly saying something bad about if they were anything like her. ”If they are anything like me they will be smar' and witty and amazin'… is that what you were gonna say?”

Rory let go of Amy and pulled out a watch. Amy examined it as he explained none of the adults had one and that adults had to have a piece of time otherwise they would loose it. Amy stared at the watch. The salesperson didn’t know what time even was, there was no clocks or watches or anything that told time that anyone could see. Time was missing… time was gone and if the child Doctor was right then what would happen to a TIMElord especially one that had just been split into three. Amy was distracted from her thought as she heard a shout and looked up to see the mini Doctor being pulled back by the woman by the ear. The boy ran and hid behind Amy, who put her hand in his hair. She looked up at the woman ”Do you know how many times I wanted to do that to you?.. well all of you?.. I mean you as you?”

Amy watched as the woman Doctor flirted with her husband and was reminded why she was happy ‘her Doctor’ was a man. Rory was obviously being won over by the Doctor’s charms but Amy knew where his heart truly lay. Rory suggested that the female Doctor was like her and that it might not be so -- ”So wha'?” Amy gave him a warning look which she knew Rory would get as soon as he saw her eyes. ”You really think it wise to finish tha' sentence?”

Rory was saved as the Old man Doctor came up to her and the others mumbling on about if they had noticed ”About how you interrupt conversations? And how it’s a bit annoying? Yeah we did.” The old man shushed her and made them all look at the people around them. Amy watched them as he described them. He was right they were all just bustling around the place and yet none of them were doing anything. Amy even looked back to where the salesman and the register was and noticed that it had disappeared. ”Tha’s not a good sign.”

Amy felt something tugging on her pants and addressed the impatient boy ”Wha’ is it?” He pointed over to the fountain and Amy saw the old man laying down for a nap. ”Well he’s an awful lot of help isn’t he.” The boy pointed out that it wasn’t the man he was pointing at. Amy realized then that the water of the fountain wasn’t really water. It was more like ice. Or was it?

Watching Amy fire that 'trouble' warning at Rory with her eyes the woman seemed taken aback, "Wait..." suddenly her hand shot out and her index finger was over Rory's mouth, "Amelia Pond..." before Amy could say something the finger on the woman's other hand was over her mouth too, "And the boy who waited... how could I come between that? Well, I'll tell you," she shook her head, "He couldn't, I almost did it again - he's learned how to deal with that, but I'm still working on it," sighing the woman looked at both of them, "I'm a mad, crazy, devil-may-care ball of trouble... ask anyone, they'll tell you... especially a certain Ms. Song," a naughty grin played across her face before the woman scowled and said, "No! No... look," removing her finger from Rory's mouth the woman said, "Just say you're sorry, alright?"

Opening his mouth, and then closing it, Rory looked confused as he said, "I'm a little confused, what did-" but the finger was back over his mouth and the woman hissed as she said, "Say sorry," looking at Amy, the skinny nurse then transferred his gaze to the woman and said, "I'm fwowwy?" he said, her finger still over his mouth. Nodding the woman grinned and yanked her finger back, wiping it on Rory's shirt, "Amelia Pond... Roranicus the Roman... now that's a pretty picture," grinning when Amy gave her a hug (Amy almost towering over the much shorter woman as she was nearly a foot taller) the woman nodded, "So I'm still the Doctor then, eh?"

Watching the two of them Rory sighed, still confused, "Look, did I miss something? Some sort of psychic woman code?" grinning the woman patted Rory on the shoulder (too short to reach his head) and Amy gave him a kiss on the forehead, "He is cute isn't he?" looking at the two of them Rory sighed again, "I'm being patronized now..." with a tsk the woman nodded, "Yeah, kinda," giggling at the look Amy gave her the woman let out a shout of surprise when the old man suddenly appeared between them, "You really ought to-" but the old man was already talking, "Yes, happy ending, wonderful... I don't suppose you've noticed it yet?"

Glancing at Amy (who he'd scared almost as much as the woman) the old man snorted when she asked him if he meant how he interrupted question and if it was annoying, "Yes, thank you Pond, sarcasm makes everything better... no, look around you - listen... listen listen listen listen... notice everything," when they all just stared at him, the boy still hanging onto Amy's pants, the old man rolled his eyes and said, "I always get the brilliant... alright, I'll make this simple, that clothes shop you just dressed Her Highness in," Rory glanced at the two women and then said, "What about it?" the old man sighed , rubbing at his eyes as he said, "Not WHAT... WHERE," grinning cheekily the woman crossed her arms and said, "Alright, where about it?" pointing a finger at her stubby nose the old man scowled before saying, "The store, where is it?" looking around them the woman glanced at Amy and Rory, a confused look on her face as she said, "We didn't pay... we didn't... it's gone..."

Turning around as they examined where they were standing Rory said, "No... we've gone, we've moved... this isn't where we we..." and it was true. They'd been standing outside of a clothing store, in the market place with dozens of stalls around them... now they were almost in the middle of the town near a fountain, the fields they'd walked through no longer even in sight, "I don't... how could we just move? Without even noticing we suddenly 'pop' right in the middle of town?" the old man nodded, obviously pleased to have 'monopolized' the conversation, "Bears thinking about doesn't it? Now watch this...." reaching into his pocket the old man produced a coin of some sort, "Where did-" but the old man cut her off with a finger to her lips, a snort coming from Amy as she noticed the Doctor 'shushing' himself/herself.

Tossing the coin into the middle of a busy crowd the old man watched as the people milled around it. Not even noticing when he tossed two more coins to the ground and even threw one at a passerby, "Okay," Rory said, "So their ignoring you, who wouldn't?" glowering at Rory the old man sighed, "Oh really?" spinning around he jabbed his foot out in front of a young woman who came running around the corner... and she stumbled to the ground. When the woman ran to help her the old man grabbed her by the arm, "Just watch!" as they watched the young woman rolled over, stood up, dusted herself off. Blinked twice and started running again. His mouth falling open Rory looked at Amy and said, "If that had been you... he'd be bald now,"

Flicking Rory on the nose the old man sighed, "They don't notice us... they don't even SEE us, they're just milling around - jabbering, they're not actually SAYING a thing!" as they listened the woman scowled and said, "Wait..." jumping out in front of a skinny young man the woman grinned, "Hello," blinking the man looked her up and down and said, "Oh, yes?" playing with a button on her jacket the woman said, "Oh well... nothing really, I was just thinking how lonely I am... you know, like you get... and thought... well, maybe we could find a nice place for a drink and-" blinking the man shook his head, "I'm busy," and breezed past her.

Scowling the woman crossed her arms, "Well that was insulting... I know I'm better at that in THIS body, at least this part of me is anyway... phooey, too busy for..." rolling his eyes Rory said, "Not that that wasn't interesting, really, but-" however the old man was gone again. As they turned around they saw he was headed for the fountain sitting in the middle of the square, as they watched he climbed up on it and began to lie down. Grinning as Amy chastised the old man - asking him if this was really the time - Rory smothered a laugh as the old man simply shushed her with a finger to his lips and a long, low shhhhh. Not that this shushed the boy who suddenly jumped up and said, "Oh! Is it my turn now? C'mon Amy! Unshush! Is it my turn?"

When Amy asked him what FOR the boy grinned, "The fountain Amy! The FOUNTAIN! Look at it - I found it, the old man was sleeping on it earlier, he didn't notice, but I did - I found it!" running towards the fountain the boy climbed up on the rim of the fountain and jumped off right into the middle of the water-jets at the center of the fountain... and froze in mid-air. As they watched the boy hopped from hovering water flow to hovering water flow and grinned. Reaching into the fountain Rory was shocked when he touched the 'frozen' water, "It's warm... but I can't... I can't reach through it," shoving at the water Rory pushed with both hands and the 'frozen' water moved a small inch.

Reaching into her jacket pocket the woman pulled out the Doctor's sonic screwdriver and began to scan the area around them, "Let's see if we can't sonic this up a bit..." clapping his hands as the woman scanned the area the boy was cut off as the old man hissed for them to be quiet, "NO! sh sh sh SH sh sh sh!" holding his hand up as he lay against the fountain the old man stayed frozen in place as Rory whispered to Amy, "I don't think he's sleeping... he's listening for-" suddenly the woman stopped scanning and froze in place. Dropping the screwdriver as her mouth dropped open she slowly grinned and said, "Oh... can't you hear it?" she asked Amy and Rory.

Stopping his 'dance' on top of the water the boy also froze in place and slowly he grinned too, "Brilliant!" all three of the 'parts' gathered around the fountain as if they could hear something from it, "Time is moving... I can hear it, this fountain-" the boy cut in, "When we got here we couldn't hear anything - time wasn't moving, nothing was moving-" nodding at them the old man said, "But this fountain exists out of this stunted little festering maze we're inside of... this thing I'm sitting on is only a reflection of where the fountain SHOULD exist IF it was part of this world," the woman's face almost split in half as she spun around and grinned at Amy, "This crack in the maze is covered up... but if there are cracks then there must be larger areas of damage... and where there's damage, there's a hole... and with a hole...," the boy let out a whoop, "Then we can crawl through to the other side!"

Looking at the three 'brilliant geniuses' Rory cleared his throat, raised his hand, and said, "Other side... of what?"

Amy felt the boy yank her sideways saying that it was his turn. ”Your turn for wha’?” She let him pull her over to the fountain. She let him climb up on the side of it, but was too late to stop him from jumping in. Amy put up her arms to cover her face from the water but nothing happened. She looked up and saw the boy giggling at her just as the Doctor would as his normal self. ”The water just…. Froze.” Rory came next to her and touched it, saying that it was warm. The Doctors all scrambled and seemed to be listening for something, but Amy just exchanged a puzzled look with Rory as the female Doctor asked her if she couldn’t hear it. ”Hear what’?” Having all of the Doctors explain felt as though she were back in the TARDIS listening to ‘her’ Doctor explain an immensely complicated theory. She felt more homesick for ‘her’ Doctor than she realized in that moment.

”I don’t get it…” Amy said, confused ”So wha’ your sayin’ is, tha’ time wasn’t existing here, but that time is leaking through the cracks, or this hole thing?” Amy listened as the female Doctor started to explain with loud interruptions from the old Doctor. She felt as though she were talking to the Doctor, only if it came from two different mouths. Amy felt as though she were more prone to be listened to by the female Doctor and looked at her as she asked her next question. ”But if time doesn’t exist here, then how was it possible for the TARDIS to even travel here?” She felt her arm being pulled by the little boy, and tell her that it had to do with the cracks and the hole.

Amy looked at Rory, thankful that he was with her. Beck in the old days she would not have been able to handle three different Doctors on her own and Rory seem to balance them all out. He was the solid rock that she leaned on for support. He was taking this all rather calmly and she supported him firmly. ”Yeah old man… other side of wha’?” She watched them carefully and this time it was the old man’s turn to explain with interruptions from the female Doctor. It was suggested that they split up and follow the traces to see if they could find the ‘hole’ as the boy had referred to it. Amy felt the little boys hand slip from her’s as he had exclaimed he would find it on his own. Amy quickly chased after him and got a hold of his hand firmly. ”How ‘bout you stick with me and show me where to go?” At that the female Doctor volunteered to stick with Amy, to Amy’s own relief, and The old man was intent on taking Rory calling him ‘pointy nose.’ Amy looked at him with a smile and said softly. ”Don’ fall through any cracks without me. Got it, pointy nose?” She smiled and kissed him swiftly, and then started off with the female Doctor and the little boy.

As they walked Amy felt more and more comfortable with the female Doctor. There was something that made her feel as if she could open up to her as they spent more time together. ”Why is it tha’ you are part female. Are all Timelords … ya know… half male and half female? Is that the reason you have two hearts?” She corrected Amy quickly about this just being a part of the Doctor and that she was a representation of his feminine traits. ”Knowing the Doctor I bet he tries to push you back as far as he can put you.”

Amy and the female Doctor were lifting the little boy between them in the air to let his feet come off the ground every few steps they walked. It was so strange to see recognize the traits for what they were in the Doctor. He had often acted as a small child in the mist of certain death. Amy could tell this trait of him easily. She could even see the logic and sense of the female Doctor, the sweet and gentle kindness that he had shown her in such a nurturing way had very much been like a mother hen protecting her from the bad things in space he didn’t want her to experience. ”Explain this to me, then. I completely see this little terror as a trait from the Doctor, almost a little too much sometimes, and I can see you… but I don’t really see how the old man fits into all this. Is he just here to portray your age or wha'?”

When Rory suggested that they split up and figure out where they were so they could escape, the boy saw his chance, "I wanna go with Amy!" the boy shouted as he grabbed onto Amy and almost tipped her over. Rolling his eyes the old man said, "You should be seen and not heard - go play or something and-" by now Rory had figured out that - without cohesion - these 'Doctors' lacked the leadership trait he exhumed almost automatically. Now Rory was no leader, but he'd been a Roman soldier and when it came to conquering and dividing there was nothing more 'Roman' than that. Whistling loudly as the 'Doctors' started to argue again, Rory nodded, "Look, I don't think I've ever missed the Doctor more than I do right now... because you guys can't decide anything at ALL!"

When the old man started to talk, Rory pointed a finger at him, "Shut it!" grinning at the look the old man fired at him Rory muttered, "Not as much fun as hitting him... still, the old man was right earlier. We've gotta figure out where this is. Whether I've got my helmet and armor-" cut off by a comment of, "And didn't you look fantastic in it?" from the woman, followed by a giggle from Amy, Rory blushed and said, "Whether I've got all that or not, I know enough about tactics to know that the best way to survey your terrain is to split your troop up in groups of two or three and go exploring,"

The boy was hopping up and down again, "And I wanna go with Amy! Can't I go with Amy? Take me Amy! Please! Tell them I can go with you! PLEASE!!" suddenly that idea seemed to change as he let go of Amy and shouted, "Or I can go by myself - yeah! I'll find the way out and you guys-" but by then Amy had caught him again and said she'd better stick with him. watching the look that flew across Amy's face as she said that, the woman said, "We'll both go with Amy," the boy let out a cheer and wrapped his arms around Amy.

Rory's grin faded instantly when both women decided to go with the boy, "Great, just me and pointy-nose," the old man muttered as he started off away from Rory. Scowling that his great speech had left him with an old goat instead of a hot girl Rory leveled a finger at Amy, "Now wait a minute! How did-" when she told him simply not to fall through any cracks and kissed him Rory rolled his eyes and ran to catch up with the old man when he shouted, "C'mon and hurry up!"

As Amy and the woman followed the boy, they gossiped and chattered amongst each other. Far more 'human' and grounded than the Doctor, the woman had no difficulty conversing with Amy. When she asked if all Time Lords were half-gendered the woman laughed, "Hardly dear, regeneration isn't the most stable of things... in some ways we're neither male nor female. We're a bit beyond the human concept of gender. Suffice to say what counts is who we are right at the moment you meet us. And right now, this is who I am. This is me," having thoroughly confused the red-head, the woman glanced at the boy and shouted after him to get back on the path when he started to climb up one of the trees along the path.

Glancing at Amy when Amy asked the woman what she was - exactly - the woman said, "I'm a metaphor - a concentration of a concept. I'm everything the Doctor associates with his best traits... his humanity, his honor, his sense of humor and dress sense," the last part she said while swinging her Lei around, "I'm a woman because he associates these traits with his companions - they bring out the best in him. They make him see things as he did when he was younger," she shrugged, "I'm hot because... well, he also has an ego,"

Smiling when Amy laughed the woman returned the laugh when Amy said that she must be kept at the back of the Doctor's mind, "Come now Amelia, you know him better than that... he keeps me at the front the most. He's always traveling with new friends - new companions - that's why I'm a woman. I'm the balance between the old man and the boy... hm... balance, I guess that's what you could call me if you ever need a name to..." trailing off as Amy started to ask about the old man, the woman seemed to look concerned for a moment. Then she popped a crick in her neck and said, "You don't need to know, neither do I... suffice to say, he's part of the Doctor to... and I hope you never have to know what part,"

When Amy started to ask her more the boy suddenly let out a loud shout of surprise and when the two women looked to see what had excited him they both stopped in shock. Sitting just a few feet from the boy was an almost TARDIS-size Rabbit... neon purple with glowing blue eyes. Staring at it the woman cleared her throat as the boy ran towards it and gave it a hug, "Goodness... Walt Disney must be turning in his grave..."
