Featured Member: Krys!

Hey, everyone!

Instead of doing the regular OtM's, I decided to break off this month (and probably from time to time, here on out) to feature a dedicated member. I was thinking about members that we've had around for a while, that have been active relative to the board, have made fun characters, and have had interesting stories and relationships. This person will be featured in the "Community" spotlight part of the sidebar, and will also get a dedication announcement thread highlighting some of their tenure.


Our featured member of the moment is Krys!!

Krys has been a member since June 2010. She currently has three characters - Maggie Wilkins, Mark O'Connor, and Carys Barton - and has recently applied for a fourth - John Hart. Here's a look at her characters and things that reflect her time on TSC!

Full Name: Margaret "Maggie" Evangeline Wilkins
Age: 24
Species: Human
Home planet: Earth
Occupation: Dancer

Likes: Dancing, a good joke
Dislikes: Liars, disorganization

Then one day a box arrived at her doorstep with a small card that read “The personal effects of Mr. J.S. Wilkins to be opened only by a Ms. Margaret Wilkins, daughter of the aforementioned.” Since she had never really known her father, the knowledge that he was deceased wasn’t nearly as upsetting as she had expected it to be. Maggie took the box back into her flat, sat down on her bed and opened it. There wasn’t much, a thick leather wristband, a photograph of him and five others that she didn’t recognize, some notebooks, a small handgun, a wad of money, and a letter addressed to her.

Margaret,
If you have received this, it means I am dead or believed to be, but most likely I am. I’m sorry that this is the way you had to find out, but as I haven’t exactly been a part of your life, I trust you aren’t too upset by my passing.
However, that is not the point of this letter. I want you to understand that nothing in this world is quite what it seems; there are universes, creatures, planets that you have never even dreamed of. I want you to see them, to truly experience the world. The wristband I enclosed will allow you do exactly that. The instructions for its use are in the small grey notebook. Be careful; use the handgun only when it is absolutely vital to your safety.

Occupation: Time Agent

Strenghts: Good listener, strong leader
Dislikes: Clumsy, terrible driver

Notable Relationships: His partner - at least - Eve Lloyd

"Oh, I can see the inscription on the base now: In memory of Mark O'Connell, who constantly let his pretty-adventure-seeking partner get her way." He would have continued, but the sudden feeling of Eve's arm around his and her chin on his shoulder left him speechless for a moment. He had missed this woman.

Right, back to the mission. "We could try to worm our way around security...There are more than a few ways to go about this mission, I'm just not sure which would be the best." When he said best, he of course meant the safest and most likely to succeed. Definitely not Eve's definition which had something to do with it being terribly exciting and dangerous. "That sounds fine, I'd like to see the old bird anyway." Mark smiled and let her lead him towards her shuttle. It was nice and quiet as they finally moved away from the crowd of agents. He hadn't had much time for solitude since returning to the agency. It was nice, especially with Eve here.

She missed him? Mark smiled and looked at her, keeping his eyes on her face even when she looked away. "I missed you too." He gave her arm a little affectionate squeeze. He did indeed know about her trust issues and had made a private vow to never do anything to violate the trust she'd given him. "Thought about you a lot too." He chuckled a little. "It worried me a bit to think of you running around the universe completely unrestrained. Who knew what kind of trouble you'd find?" Mark looked straight ahead again. "I'm glad you're alright."

Age: 23
Species: Human
Home planet: Earth
Occupation: U.N.I.T. Pilot

Dreams: Flying an alien spaceship in space
Fears: Being responsible for the death of someone she cares about

Darkness seemed to be a comfort to a lot of creatures, regardless of species. Which made pursuit difficult if you didn't have awesome night vision, but you did what you could. Especially when the alien was loose in downtown London. Several UNIT members were called out in pursit. The goal was to capture if possible, but to keep the alien from injuring the general public.

"And it's on the move!" Carys called into her headset as she took off down the alleyway after the shadowy form of the alien. "No, I don't know what it is exactly, it's alien and I'm trying to catch it" She growled at the voice in her headset. How the heck was the rookie supposed to know aliens at a glance? She was barely keeping up with it. "Back-up would be awesome."

Carys skidded around a corner, catching a glimpse of it dissapearing around the next corner. "Send 'em to....Oh I don't know the exact street, it's a block north of where I am now."
