Hello, and welcome to Tristin's Eaxia forums. I am Somaria, player of Ethae, the Avian Wind Mage, and I am also now administrator to the forums for this excellent site. You may note that, like my Eaxia account, I cheaped out and went for free forums. Well, I didn't want to code them myself, and there's only one banner, so I think we can all live with it. There should be NO popups (if there are, please PM me).

The rules here are simple: I trust that you won't be an idiot. Minimal profanity, no spamming, keep on topic, post in the appropriate places, and be polite. That should cover it. I maintain 4 seperate forums, and as of yet, I have never had to enforce anything, so I'll probably just delete it or something. But, I'm sure it won't happen. So, have fun, and let's make these forums a little less lonely.

OK, in addition, I have noted that we have the most ardent posters I have ever seen, which is awesome. However, that can be too much of a good thing. There has recently been a flood of bandwidth, and we have maxed out our serverspace. It's very flattering you guys are enjoying yourselves this much here, but if you guys are having a two or three way conversation on the boards, please get each others' IM screen names and communicate that way if possible. I just received a rather angry e-mail from the PR rep at InvasionFree (the company which offers the free forum accounts, mostly out of the goodness of their hearts to their customers in other areas) letting me know that we have gone above and beyond the normal call of a board, and if I wanted to have more than 50 members or more than one post a minute for more than 10 minutes, I would have to subscribe to the upgraded services. Which I'd rather not do. So please, I will be doing a few things to help, but you guys have to be patient too.

Right, well, I think the issue has been resolved...if the boards shut down and kick you off, it means someone is making them think too hard. If they receive more than 20 posts in 15 minutes, they shut down now. Let's NOT test this, let's just use moderation and not make it come to that, and post more than one or two lines (except in auctions, but I have a new system for that as well).

About two hours, frankly, and it was not fun work. I was actually tempted to start coding my own for ease of working with, but I estimated that it would take me 10 hours or so to do the job right, not including mistakes, but since I'm not entirely sure of the approach, I decided to just work with InvasionFree.

Well, how long does it take you to write a script? That language is slightly more limited than java, which is all I know, and I would have to code them so that I could save all information and transfer them to another computer for when I do my weekly defrags and monthly reformats. Plus, I would have to code myself a moderator function in order to give Tristin her due. Plus, I am not the best or fastest programmer, and have never done anything on that scale, so I would make the customary mistakes. And when I make a mistake, it is a MISTAKE. Generally on the basis of an entire system.

Somaria, & Tristin.
Php is not limited, you are limited by SPACE & Bandwidth.
firstly, check to see if anyone is linking to your graphics, big bandwidth leech.
secondly, You know me (Malkus, Riddic, others) & my wife (Farah, Eirnin, others)
We both own & run our sites.
www.3V1L.com = Mine/:3V1L:Gaming Clan
www.WondersHouse.com = Hers.
If you need space, as a subdomain off of one of ours. . .
I don't think Either would hessitate to help. . .
Just an Idea.
