Do you think the Consent policy (11.9.7) should be changed with the release of the alignment system?

Obviously, since I'm the one who wrote this poll, I'm in favor of changing the player policy to allow more freedom in Character vs. Character combat. And I do differentiate the terms Player vs. Player and Character vs. Character.

I do not endorse the taking in-game away from the keyboard and into your real world. In other games I've seen policies like this abused to an obscene degree, I am referring of course, to the hypothetical altering of the Consent policy to where Consent is granted at nearly all times. It is not my wish that Eaxia become an ugly and foul place that no one wishes to be around anymore because if they try, some bone-head is killing everything in sight. I wish there to be method to the madness, an order to the chaos if you will.

Do I believe in safehavens? Sure. Guild halls, homes, gaming halls, etc. Places that are either paid for with real world money, or are generally accepting of all whom reside.

Do I believe Semanri, South Town Square should be a Safehaven? Nope. To me, honestly, it doesn't make sense that it would be. Sure, it's where the new characters are spawned, but they're protected from Thievery right now, yet they're given automatic engaging Consent, according to section 11.9.3 Theft, even if they're not the target, but only a Witness. Also, to look at a more in-genre way of thinking; Semanri, South Town Square is the primary gathering place of.. Well, if you really think about it, most of Eaxia. In the center of it you have two of the most vital buildings to most of the citizens, the Bank and the Vaults. But with such temptation, naturally would come thieves. Allow me to say this, I'm not saying it should be as it used to be, thieves everywhere plucking anything they could. In fact, I believe it should be possible to steal in STS, but very difficult to steal in STS. Perhaps that can be arranged with subsequent law updates though. That's why it's not a poll question.

I believe I've rambled enough, if I made sense, which I hope I do, then feel free to reply. Either through this thread, or you can PM me. If I've completely lost you, then please, feel free to reply. Either... Oh wait, just wrote that didn't I?
Basically, I want other people's opinions whether they're positive or negative to this kind of idea.

Oh, for those wondering why I didn't post this on Eaxia's message board, well.. I can't, though not for anything that has to do with Eaxia. I have a ghetto network which will be fixed when I get some sort of broadband, so it double-posts anything I write as my account, and my wifes.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this, and take my poll. smile.gif
