Hello Storylisters!

So, I know, I know... the staff have all disapeared for the longest time in Ultimate Storylist history, we're sorry.

Is there anyone actually alive on here anymore?

If there is, then we want to hear fromyou.
What can we do to help make The Ultimate Storylist stay alive?

Are there any new writing websites out there?

Or did they all die along with Harry Potter?

I'm a bit sad, because I'm thinking 'theres only so much we can do, but maybe we should call it a day'. But I dont want to let my precious forum die without a bit more of a fight!

What do you think? We want to hear your views, what you would improve? Should we get more staff? Should we try and get more users and writers on here? Any suggestions on how we can do that? Any writing websites we should target???

We want to improve this place and keep this place alive, because we've all made good friends on here, and I'm sure you guys would want this place to be around so you don't loose contact.

I would love to create our very own 'Quizilla' (but obviously better, and no illiterate people allowed) but I dont have the time and skills to do it im afraid! (If someone knows how to do it, and can set one up, then please do so!)

Hi girls,

I see the problem here. And honestly, I never get around to writing much any more. At least not like I did a few years back. We need to find a place to "hook on to" like Quizilla was in the olden days. But it is kinda difficult, and I agree, that if anyone really (and I mean REALLY) have the time and skills, that would be the best choice.

I also think, that we should be very careful to keep the monthly stuff up - discussions, bookclubs etc. But how about short story online, quote from famous author, articles on writing etc.? I'd be happy to help run some of those things!

You do a wonderful job. I wouldn't lose this place for anything!

I was just wondering...

We might collect the best of stories on US, but don't we also help improve the young and illiterate writers? Quizilla may be bad at times, and that's where we come to help them. Nobody gets better if they don't recieve help and practice a lot.
Perhaps we should just create awareness of the UStorylist on Quizilla, Fictionpress and all the other sites, no matter how bad the writing on them is.

I love this site. And I hate that it's dying.

I agree with you guys, I use to come on here daily and just talk to everyone... But we all have lives and everyone doesn't seem to have much time for the US anymore. It's sad but, I'm one of them, I'm barely on my computer anymore unless it's for school.
I think we need to advertise more. We all pretty much came to this site because we knew someone on Quizilla who was praising it. Well Quizilla is.. let's not go there- now. I think we should try to make this forum known on various writing pages or any sites for that matter.
I know that a lot of authors are gone and those who are left don't have time to write. I think we need to bring in a new 'generation' of members to the site somehow..

Fastest growing, extremely active and fun Harry Potter website around, catering to a billion and one of your needs - predominately, a very good source to find stories

I'm the administrator and owner of this site, and I have been a member of the US for a very long time now, back in the days when I was a constantly featured author on Quizilla, so early 05 I do believe. Anyways, the times have changed, but the fan base is still there, and growing larger - you just need to know where to look

On TDM, we don't allow stories that don't adhere to our rules on Quality over Quantity. Because of this, our numbers might be smaller, but the stories posted are of a far higher nature than those on larger sites, like Quizilla, HPFF, FF.net etc.

I invite you all to take a look, and for talent searchers to test the water to see what you can come up with because I too do not want to see a classic site like this go under due to inactivity, lack of new stories and so on. I've been down that road before with TDM, but we managed to get it back on track and have been onwards and upwards ever since to become the fastest growing HP site online; if we can do it, so can the US

Good luck to you all in getting US back up and running - another suggestion, I think, would be to update the content such as the sidebar (feb was the last MOTM apparently...) and your main website (last blog Sept 2008, images no longer show) and get everything looking like it's loved once more. It works a treat, trust me

Well, I love this site, I always have.
I love all you girls, 'cause you're all amazing, I love how open we all can be with each other, how everyone on here is fan-fricking-tastic person, and most of all I love this site simply because it was a way to meet all of you.

I've noticed the lack of activity, perhaps it's because most of us are in University now? Or at least nearing it. I know my free time has been cut in half now that I am in University, but even so, I want this site to stick around. So, give me a task and I'll help in anyway I can, whenever I can. =)

Also, as everyone else has mentioned, advertising and updating the board would probably help quite a bit. Maybe get the writing contests up and running again?

Anyway, like I said, if you have a task that needs to be done, put me to it. I'll help in anyway I can.
