I’ve just had a turbo put on my gq and whenever it’s on boost up hills, even small hills for 15 seconds or more, the temp gauge starts climbing. I’ve replaced the clutch fan, had the radiator properly cleaned and flushed. It’s not using any water and on the highway or flats it’s fine. It’s just when it’s under load that it starts to get warm.
I’ve heard that the gq gauges are rubbish but it would be too much of a coincidence that the gauge has shat itself at the same time as the turbo install. Some people have advised to intercool but doesn’t an intercooler create more power which equals more heat? Turbo was tuned on dyno too. Need help please! -------------------- GQ with stuff

You probably had the fuel pump cranked up to match the turbo.
Check with whomever installed turbo to ensure egt (exhaust gas temp) is not to high. With any diesel mods you should install an egt gauge. (550C max) An intercooler reduces the charge air temp which reduces your egt, you only get more power once you increase fuel to match this. My GU runs at 80°C engine temp normally (1/3 on the stock gauge), when it gets boggying and the egt is up around 500°c then the engine temp climbs to 100°C (just over 1/2 on the stock gauge). I will probably go to a large alloy radiator over summer to keep it cooler. Best to speak to Bidders, or Joel at Pgs for real advice. Stewy.H. -------------------- Horsepower = Happiness
