TOOK FROM FURY BUT CAN BE USED HERE! CREDITS TO FURY!

Art Use for Contests, etc.
You cannot enter something that someone else made for you in any contests. I don't care, if you didn't make it yourself, then you can't lay claim to it or enter it in contests.

Art Theft
We do not look kindly at art theft. That means absolutely no taking someone else's sprite and using it as your own. That means you can't use someone else's sprite for a contest or for one of your pictures. Remember to ask first! Do not use another person's work without permission first. And always remember to give credit where credit is due. And don't lie about it. "My cousins made it for me" isn't a good excuse. Either make it yourself or don't post it at all. Art theft isn't taken lightly, and it will get you a warning or even a ban.

Ask first
If you are planning to use someone else's' work on one of your trainer cards or banners, ask first! We don't want any "Hey, that's mine! You stole it from me!"

Give credit where credit is due
If you're using something that wasn't made by you, then give credit to the person after you read the rule above this. (ask first) And then you can use it, but remember to put (Credit goes to: or sprite was made by: , etc.)

"Don't be a hater"
Don't flame what you don't understand. In this case, it's art. Don't just say, "That sucks!" or "I'm looking at a picture that makes me wanna puke and die" It will count as flaming and will not be tolerated. If you have nothing helpful to say, then just keep your mouth shut.

Do not make requests if the Artist isn't taking any
If they're not taking requests, then they're not taking requests! Just wait until the artist is okay with it and then make a request.

If the thread is just for showing art, then do not request.
When someone's just showing off their work and not really wanting requests, then think first and decide it's not a good place to make a request. Just go look in another thread that's taking requests.

"I reserve the right to refuse any requests"
If you think you can't do a request, then go ahead and say that you aren't an expert on it. Not everyone is good at everything. And this rule mainly goes to the people who go out and make silly and unreasonable requests.

Put all your sprites in one thread
Like the trade forum, you must try and keep everything in one thread from now on. It will help prevent any further SPAM. The only exception to this rule is if your current thread is too old(1 week) or that someone has spammed too much in it and it is beyond repair. Then can you make a new thread, but try and stick with it!

"People need time to post!"
Remember, this isn't a chat room. People need time to think about things. Some you might not understand, so lets just give them all the time they need.

"False Accusations"
Try to be 99.9% sure when you're accusing someone of stealing. They may just have gotten the same idea that you had. Spriting is like an epidemic around this forum. Especially since I added the other thread. Just watch out about who you might want to accuse and who to not. Remember, most thieves are just desperate people just wanting to have some attention. They're lazy too, and most of them can't back up any of their statements. An easy way to tell who's a thief is if you test them with a request. If they can't do nearly as good as the stolen work, then they didn't make it. Remember, if you make a false accusation, your reputation will most likely be damaged, since you can't even tell between your own work and someone else's. Who does that? Noobs, that's who.

"Personal Sprites"
If the artist have said that they do not wish for the sprite to be redistributed in any way, then don't bother doing it. Just leave it alone.

Contests
Please make sure that you post enough information so that the people know what to do or make. And remember to put a reasonable deadline and time on it so people know when it ends. And put in the time zone that the contest is running under. (e.g. GMT-7, etc.)

Don't just make random contests
Like the title says. It's useless and usually just takes up room, since no one enters. The situation with contests these days is currently under control, so don't overdo it. Try to keep your contests to look as professional as you can. Make the text readable, so people don't get confused.

Private Contests
These are contests where only a select few can enter. You must PM all the eligible contestants beforehand, and get a response from them before actually making the thread. When you do, please remember to put something like this. Pokemon Sprite Contest(Private:and then all the eligible contestant's names here.) Remember to put only a minimum of 2-3 names and etc. in it if there are way too many contestants in it.

Deadlines
They are needed in all contests and will need to be kept the same. Absolutely no changing the deadline, unless there is something tragically wrong with the contest. (e.g. the people made the wrong kinds of sprites and need more time to finish/redo new ones.) There may be other exceptions to this that will rule, so it's not a big deal, I just don't want people to get confused and argue with your choices o them not knowing about it, so they request another extension, which will be time-consuming.

Double-posting
You can only double-post if you cannot fit all your images into one post.

Be Patient
Don't continually ask if the request is done yet. Just wait, people have lives, you know.

If needed, more rules shall be added.

PM me if you think there are more that need to be added.
