Wayward Sons, a crossover RPG dealing with both the series of
Dark Angel and
Supernatural, offers six types of characters (NPCs have their own information thread
Here) that you can play, as well as the option of Good, Bad, or Neutral, which is ultimately self-explanatory.
The character choices are:
Transgenic, Hunter, Ordinary, Familiar, Demon, and Unique. Now, as tempting as it may be, not everyone can be a Transgenic or a Hunter. We need Familiars and Demons as bad guys, as well as Ordinaries and Uniques to make sure everything is running smoothly and that there is some conflict. We need variety on the board and we are confident that you will be able to provide that for us.
We are only accepting 'special' types as seen on Dark Angel (i.e Transgenics, Familiars and Red Series) and those species / gifted people as seen on Supernatural. Other supernatural kinds not yet seen on the series, may fit into the premise of the board, depending on what you wish to play. Please PM an Admin for advice on this.
That being said, here's a brief description of each type so that you know what to classify your character under:
TransgenicsThese guys are the super-soldiers created within Manticore whose DNA has been spliced with that of animals to enhance their abilities. They were originally created by Sandeman, but once word got out, it was taken over by the US Government and the transgenics were then intended to be used as a government aid in times of war after the Pulse (a blackout that sent the US into third-world status). The most prominent of the Transgenics are the X-5's, the beginning of a long line of "perfect human weapons". They have enhanced physical abilities and are experts at outmaneuvering their opponents. Should you wish to join as an X-5, visit this page to read some basic info if you are not familiar with the back-story already. Click
Here HuntersIf you are a Supernatural fan, then you should know what Hunters are, Dean and Sam Winchester anyone? These two main Hunters are from another time, before Terminal City and Manticore. The two brothers have found their way into a futuristic Seattle, Washington, and surrounded, no longer just by demons and ghosts, but also by evils of flesh and blood, a cult, Familiars. While ghosts and demons are their specialty, Sam and Dean are a tad off-centered, but as close to getting back on-track as you can get when demonic time-travel is involved. Hunters are the people who go after supernatural creatures that are evil and destroy them. Not all know how to fight every kind of creature, or even identify them, but the Hunters work hard on finding out how to destroy them. This is a rare kind on WS as any subsequent hunters must exist in the current universe, coinciding with Dark Angel time. If you wish to register as such a character, the character must be from the same time frame as the Transgenics in Terminal City.
Note: There will be no more Canon Characters from Supernatural. Dean and Sam were sent to the future through a vortex created by a Crossroads Demon thanks to Bobby Singer and the Demon Ruby. No one else was sent through the vortex with them. The only reason why Lilith is here is because she is part of the storyline we have going with the Familiars. However, Hunters from the Dark Angel time set are allowed.OrdinariesThese would be your everyday, average Adam and Eves. In other words, they are just Humans, nothing else. They don't have any kind of special powers, of any kind. However, if you have an idea you would like to try to work with your Ordinary character, contact an Admin before you select your character as an Ordinary. Otherwise, they are considered Uniques. They can, however, work for the progression of the Transgenics, such as Jade Dupree. Of course, they can be good or bad, it all goes on your intended history for them.
Familiars5,000 years ago, a breeding cult began with the intent of producing the ultimate human began. Of course, they weren't doing this alone. They had sworn an oath to serve powerful demon named Lilith for powers and strengths. The intention was for them to withstand "The Coming" in which average humans would perish. Through selective breeding, the cult managed to make a nearly flawless race, immune to viruses, pain, and also some that possessed mental abilities. Because of the elite status, the Familiars harbor an intense hatred for the Transgenics, considering them an abomination to the world, a sign of betrayal from Professor Sandeman, and wish to see them destroyed. They will stop at nothing to remain the superior race and are hell bent on killing the Transgenics, as is proved by NSA's Special Agent Ames White, a member of this cult. As you can probably guess, these are our bad guys. Rarely, if ever, will there be a 'good' Familiar. Be sure, before you choose to become one of these Familiars, that you know all the details in relation to the cult, their rituals, Sandeman, and Ames White. HereDemonThere is no good Demon. Ruby was the only good Demon and she was killed by other Demons who worked for Lilith for her betrayal. These are evil creatures, who will do anything to get what they want. And what do they want? Hell on earth. They want to torture and destroy. They can possess people or take on the form of someone. So you better be careful when you are fighting against one, they know how to distract a person.
UniquesVampires, Shape-shifters, Tricksters, and whatever else you come up with that doesn't fit into the above four classifications. Whatever you choose, make sure that you know the details of what you are playing and can work them into the plotline with as much efficiency as possible.
