How to get programs/apps made for XP to run in VISTA
It has been a bit frustrating to everyone who has upgraded to Vista to find that a lot of their games and apps no longer work. You get a variety of errors that even include saying you have a bad dll file. Not to worry. Most apps simply need to be updated to the newest version but the following trick will work for most apps and almost all games. First, find the desktop shortcut or the actual exe file that loads your program. Right click on it and go down to Properties. Click on that. Now go to the Compatability tab and click on it. Put a check in the box that says to Run This Program As An Administrator. This should fix most everything. You can also try checking the box that says to run in Windows XP SP2 Mode for the really stubborn ones. -------------------- ![]() "I just killed my wife with a hammer, is that wrong?"
