Firstly,

Welcome to Camp December!

I would like you to feel welcome at my humble site, and know that if you have any questions, please ask me.

You will find no "secret code" or "secret password" in the rules below, but I still expect you to read and adhere to all rules.

WHAT IS CAMP DECEMBER?
Camp December is a summer camp roleplaying game set up for a couple of months in the summer. Think of it like a virtual summer camp where you can go and interract with other people online. Why "december"? Because that's me name.

BASIC RULES

1. RESPECT. I require that you respect all staff and members of this board. You don't have to like anyone, but respecting people is absolutely necessary. We all want to have fun, and OoC drama is not fun at all.
2. Pr0N and SPAM. No porn or spam is allowed on this board at all, so please don't post anything that has to do with either. Porn / adult content will earn you an automatic ban; spam will get you a warning on your warnometer.
3. THIS SITE IS RATED PG-13. I know that many people love R-rated sites, but we're sticking with the IF TOS. ;] If you feel like roleplaying sex, excessive violence, or foul language, please go somewhere else. We want to stay relatively family-friendly.

POSTING RULES

1. FONT. Please do not change the font size or color in your posts. I'm quite fond of the defaults as they are now and it makes it hard for other people to read. If you have a problem with the current defaults, please PM me; I made the skin, so I can adjust it if people can't read on it.
2. GRAMMAR AND SPELLING. Please use proper grammar and spelling. If you're unsure how to spell a word, use a dictionary. If you have questions about grammar, ask me. I'm pretty relaxed on this, but please don't slip too far. In addition, no chat speak or 1337.
3. POST LENGTH. There are no post minimums, but I ask that you do not post any one-liners. Get your brain thinking and see what you can come up with. :] I would also like to note that because this RP lasts a limited amount of time, things may happen quickly. If you would like to post shorter RP posts, be my guest.
4. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. This goes hand-in-hand with the last part, but I would rather see 50 outstanding words than 500 crappy ones. Please do not use purple prose or excessive adverbs. Adverbs do not make you a better writer. As a matter of fact, they're just a crutch.
   
5. NUMBER OF CHARACTERS IN A THREAD. You can have as many characters as you desire in a thread, but as the thread starter, it would be nice if you put in the title or topic description the maximum number of members/character (please specify) you would like to see in the thread.

IN-CHARACTER RULES

1. PLAY "NICE." Your characters can be mean and nasty, but remember that the member is not the same as the character. Just because a character is mean does not mean that the respective member is also mean.
2. LIMIT THE SWEARING. Once again, we're keeping this PG-13.
3. FADE TO BLACK. I don't expect that we'll be having lots of sex at this camp, but in case it does happen, please do not roleplay it out. Fade to black and have the characters wake up the next morning or whatnot.

CHARACTERS

1. LIMITS. You are allowed to have as many characters as you want as long as you can keep up with them. If you cannot keep up with them, please let me know and we'll figure out how to make them go poof.
2. DEATHS. Generally I'm totally cool with characters dying, but for some reason I can't imagine that going over to well if children start dropping like flies. Thus, please PM me if you would like to kill off a character.
3. MARY SUES. Please don't make your character perfect. Make sure that he/she has flaws.
4. CAMPERS. Campers are ages 11-20. Please remember that there's more to camp than romance, though it is acceptable. ;]
5. COUNSELORS. I probably spelled that wrong. At any rate, they vary depending upon the cabin. Ages 20+ for Sunrise, 25+ for Dusk, and 30+ for Twilight.
6. STAFF. Camp December has staff for just about everything from the instructors to the nurses to the cooking crew. Don't be afraid to be a staff member!

GRAPHICS

1. AVATARS. The maximum avatar size is 150x300. This is subject to change depending upon how it works out.
2. SIGNATURES. Please do not stretch the page.
3. PLAY-BY CLAIMS. You are not required to have a play-by, but you're more than welcome to. Please try to be creative about it. :]

ETC

1. ABSENCES. It's summer. I understand you're going to be coming and going and stuff like that. But please do not sign up for big events if you know you aren't going to be able to make it. If you're going to be absent at any point, please let us know!

I must note now that I WILL NOT TOLERATE people joining just to RP sex. I have had this in the past when people join, post nothing and PM female members of the board in order to RP sex scenes. If this happens--or anything like this happens--please PM me immediately and I will deal with it. I do not want anyone harrassed on this board. Thank you.
