He sees Hope shoot some water aout, and he turns in that direction, trying to see the beast. When he can't, he looks around again, and says, "Where did it go? I can't seem to follow it..."

Khaavren: "How, nothing? You perceive, your face is blackened, much of your clothing burned and torn to the point where your modesty is compromised, and, if I am not deceived, there is smoke still curling from your left hand."
Tazendra: *shrugs, adjusts her clothing* "Well, it is not so bad as it looks."
