You usually have to wake up pretty early in the mourning to grab a hold of a decent TV in the Co-Ed Lounge at the X-Mansion, Kitty usually conceded all the TV’s and DVD systems to the young students and other X-Men, She had her laptop that was fully capable of playing DVDs and downloading TV Shows, but for some reason tonight was different for Kitty, She had been having troubling sleeping all night, she struggled through a couple hours, constantly waking up and forcing herself to fall back asleep. Looking over constantly at her clock, while most of the mansion slept.. Finally around 6:30, Kitty rolled out of bed, she didn’t want to bother getting dressed and open dresser drawers and scoff around the room, with her luck she would probably make so much noise and wake someone up from a different room. Even thou Kitty could simply phase through her dressers and grab some clothes that way, but it would have taken too much effort. And Kitty was in no mood for such things, so she slowly crept out of her bedroom and phase through the door.

Kitty still dressed in her pink night gown, that covered just down to her knee. She didn’t quiet know where to go our what she could do that would be quiet enough to entertain herself, while not waking anyone else up. Eventually after a short walk around the second floor of the mansion she did end up in the Student Lounge.. She looked around the room there were some pool tables, Kitty was never great at Pool and that would certainly wake someone up. There were a plethora of Video Game systems but again Kitty knew the sounds from the game would definitely wake someone up.. Kitty sighed as she walked aimlessly around the Lounge.. For a few minutes before plopping down onto a plush couch..

Kitty tried rolling over trying to bury her head into the couch where the arm and back cushion meet. To shield her eyes from the light sunlight beaming into the room from the rising sun. but this exercise would prove to be as futile as sleeping in her own bed.. Eventually Kitty just rolled back over onto her back and stared up at the ceiling for a few minutes. Finally Kitty gave up and grabbed the remote for the biggest TV in the room and began slowly flipping through the channels.. Until…

As much as he liked to sleep, Iggy knew that he couldn't sleep long due to the nature of his power. Usually he kept a pretty regular schedule on his power but recently he had been finding a greater need to release his energy. He had gotten up at 6 and had crept outside to a clearing in the woods he had found. It was there that he usually released his energy and using the residue from the dual beams, he created weird sculptures. Having snuck back into the patio and into the kitchen he had made himself some breakfast. It was quiet in the mansion, most people still sleeping. Every now and then you could hear people get up and creep around. Dressed in a pair of cotton pajama pants one size to big for him, and a black muscle shirt, Iggy made his way down to the lounge.

Carrying a tray with a bowl of cereal, a big plate of toast and fruit he headed up the stairs to the lounge. As he drew closer he stuck a strawberry in his mouth. Pausing as he heard the TV turn on, he continued into the lounge to see who was there. He didn't know what he was going to do when he got to the lounge, prob just read and eat his breakfast. While he knew that he was completely composed of energy, to feel normal he still ate food.

Iggy had learned long ago that he didn't need food or drink, but he still experienced the urge to eat. His system didn't operate on food, but the energy constantly generated on its own. Coming to the door of the lounge he looked in to see Kitty Pryde, one of the X-men lying on the couch, still in her PJ's just as he was. Deciding to be friendly he smiled at her and walked in. "Couldn't sleep either huh?" he asked her as he put the tray of food on the table, grabbing the cereal "You are welcome to have some toast or fruit if you want." Sticking the spoon in his mouth he enjoyed the sugary cereal.

It was a school day, and whether or not she slept much the previous night, Rahne Sinclair was always up early on a school day. Have to be ready for the kids, after all. Last night though was an easy enough night to fall asleep on. Not too early, but not too late, so she wasn't having any particular troubles this morning, which was just fine, as her canine sensibilities didn't take to coffee all too well.

Well, she was having some little troubles. It was really a minor thing, but this minor thing was a bit beyond her skill set. And thus, it was time to call in the big guns.

"Oh, Kitty!" Rahne announced as she made her way into the student lounge, in her transitional, half-wolf form. Her voice was loud, her demeanor perhaps a bit more urgent than it would be were she wholly humanoid, but her moods tended to be a bit amplified when the wolf was out. Her happiness was exuberance, her anger was fury, her sadness almost crushing.

She had needed the wolf form, though, to track Kitty's scent down. She wasn't in her room, which was the first place she'd checked. And no sense roaming around the place when one could just amplify her senses, sniff out a trail and follow it.

"Kitty," Rahne repeated, fur melting away into a very confused-looking human form. Kitty was in her pajamas... in the student lounge. That wasn't particularly normal, was it? "Ye dinnae spend the whole night out here, did ye?"

In her confusion, she'd forgotten to bring up the very thing she was specifcally looking for Kitty for.

As Kitty was still trying to bury her head from the incoming sunlight from the windows in the lounge area she heard a voice asking if she couldn't sleep either. Followed by the clacking of an item being put down on a nearby table. As Kitty untucked her head from the corner of the couch she was also offered some fruit and toast if she desired as Kitty then looked up and saw one of the X-Students that went by Code name: Inferno. “No thanks.” Kitty muttered as she propped herself up a little more on the couch making herself visible through the open doors of the lounge.

And no sooner did she do that as she heard the all too family accent of Rahne call in for her as Kitty then fully pulled herself up to a full sitting position on the couch and turning her head to look back towards Rahne who once again called out for Kitty as Kitty was slow in her groggy response Rahne asked if she spent the whole night here. Kitty took a moment as her eyes were still adjusting to being from tucked in the corner of the couch and now being exposed to the increasingly bright student lounge. As the crunching of Inferno's cereal seemed to be excruciating loud, as if everything was amplified in intensity.

“Uh... oh.. No... I've only been here... I.. don't really know how long... trouble sleeping tonight. Bad night I guess... Do either one of you know what time it is?” Kitty asked while now rubbing her eyes with both hands balled up in fists trying to shake the groggy state she was in as the lounge was growing increasingly crowed she worried that she had fallen asleep and it was mid day or something. But Inferno was still in his pajamas and eating breakfast so it couldn't be that late yet.

Iggy wasn't surprised in the least that Kitty had come here to sleep. Some times when he couldn't sleep he would come to one of the lounges and lie on the couch. He felt badly when he woke Kitty from her slumber and it showed on his face as she pulled her face from the corner of the couch. She certainly looked tired and he nodded as she rejected the offer of fruit or toast. Sticking another spoon of cereal in his mouth, he looked up as Rahne came into the lounge looking for Kitty.

He still felt bad about the ice incident, being a stupid student and not asking for help. Then again he was a silly student and asking for help was something he didn't do that often. Iggy watched the exchange of Rahne and Kitty silently, still chewing on his cereal. Finishing the bowl he placed it on the tray and grabbed some toast.

When Kitty asked what time it was, he looked down at the watch he always had to wear. "Uh its about 7:15," he said as he took a quiet bite of the toast. Iggy always felt bad when he had woken someone up and he had done just that. Well if it wasn't him it would have been Miss. Sinclair. Iggy wondered why she had come looking for her. Shrugging he sat on the love seat and ate the toast in his hand.

"Och! Iggy! Oh, I am sorry, I truly neither saw ye nor caught yuir scent. Guess I was a wee bit too focused," Rahne's eyes widened and she took a step back. It wasn't often she was surprised by people being where they were. Granted, she was narrowed in specifically on Kitty, so it wasn't terribly out of the realm of possibility to miss one person.

"Tough night?" Rahne frowned, tilting her head to the left. This was concerning, now. What could have caused a bad night? It wasn't like Kitty had animalistic, sometimes nocturnal instincts driving her, like Rahne herself did, so what was bothering her so much that she couldn't sleep? It didn't really even occur to her that it could have been a simple matter of the brain refusing to shut down for a few hours. She automatically went to something emotional. It must have been that.

"Well, ye know ye could always come talk to me if something's botherin' ye," Rahne said, and quickly caught herself. "I mean, uh, almost always. Um... right. Almost always. Ye know."

She did have a boyfriend now, and there was that increased need for privacy that came with it.

"Oh!" she suddenly remembered the reason she was in here for, what she was seeking Kitty out in particular for. Unlike Miss Pryde herself and Iggy, Rahne was fully awake, albeit a little scatterbrained at the moment.

"Right, I almost forgot - um... a wee bit later today, do ye think ye could come over to my room an' take a gander at muh computer? Bloody thing's all frozen up, an' well, ye know, I'm nae nearly so technologically inclined... no rush, of course."

Don had gotten up pretty early to make a few rounds and see if anything needed fixing or his attention; aside from a few flickering bulbs and a clog in one of the boys sinks though, there was nothing much that needed doing. Since he was up, and not going back to bed anytime soon, he decided the lounge would be a good place to hang out; maybe watch a bit of tv, play some games, socialize with someone he hadn't met yet or seen in a while.

He had to change out of his work clothes though, and after a quick run to his room, he came out in a tank top and some baggy sweatpants; he was ready to start the day off right. He didn't bother getting breakfast as he wasn't that hungry, and while he figured he'd probably regret it later, he would just chalk his future hunger up to being a well learned lesson. He was humming a tune that had been stuck in his head for the past day or so when he walked into the room; Ms. Sinclair was there, so was his buddy Iggy...and then there was a girl, no a woman who he hadn't had the pleasure of meeting.

"Hey Ms. Sinclair, Ignacio...and Hellooooooo Nurse." Yes he'd just quoted Animaniacs, but it seemed like the right thing to say at the time; obviously he sometimes didn't think things all the weay through. He smiled to them and gave a small wave while walking in, and then he abruptly sunk up to his waist in the floor before catching himself; he didn't know why, but usually when he unintentionally phased, it was accompanied by a not so manly yelp...this time was no different.

"Really.....this had to happen now, in front of people whose opinions I care about?" He was talking to himself about the phasing situation because, really, his powers had to go wonky in front of the lovely lady he wanted to get to know better? Floating out of the floor until his feet were on solid ground again, he hung his head and took a deep breath before forcing a smile and finding a seat. "Well that was certainly embarrassing; oh, and I'm Dontae by the way. We haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet Miss....?"

Inferno informed Kitty it was 15 past 7 as he sat on a nearby love seat eating his toast, “Oh” Kitty said while Rahne apologized for not seeing Inferno standing in the lounge. Before telling Kitty that if she ever wanted to talk she would always be willing to listen. Maybe it was because Kitty was so out of it, But Rahne seemed more discombobulated than usual mind running all over the place as Rahne then asked Kitty if she would take a look at her computer as it had been malfunctioning on her. “Oh sure...” Kitty said while letting out a large yawn in the middle of her sentence. “Of course I will, Just let me know when a good time for you is.”

But the party grew even larger now as another X-Student arrived in the lounge area as he said his hellos to Rahne and Inferno pausing as he looked at Kitty and greeted her like a cartoon character from the early 1990's would. Before Kitty could say hello back to the other student he suddenly dropped half way through the floor. As Kitty cocked an eyebrow at him watching him pull himself up from being stuck between the floors as he was talking to himself. Guy seemed like a bit of a doof to Kitty. But she could attribute his antics to her not being fully awake and in no mood for goofing off right now.

Once the boy was back on solid ground again he seemed a bit defeated and lowered his head taking a breathe and fanning a smile as he admitted he was embarrassed and properly introduced himself to Kitty as Dontae mentioning he hadn't met Kitty yet. Which was probably because of Kitty's self inflicted semi-seclusion she had put herself through recently. “Oh hey.. Katherine” Kitty said quietly “But everyone calls me Kitty”

Iggy smiled as Rahne finally noticed that he was sitting there. When she said she hadn't caught his scent, he was amazed that he still had one. He kept his surprise internal, but he was still amazed that being entirely composed of energy had a smell. He would have to talk to a variety of ferals and ask if he had a smell. Turning to see Dontae, come into the room, he greeted everyone. The comment from Animaniacs made him smile "Smooth dude, sit your ass down." he said with a laugh.

Before he could do so, he had fallen through the floor up to his waist. "Ahahaha well done mate," he said laughing at him "You really need to get a handle on that, though I guess its better then exploding randomly." Getting up he was about to help Rho back through the floor before he managed to do it himself. It was an interesting power he had, being able to change his density. His was just shooting fire and being composed of energy. Nothing to really shake a stick at.

The raised eyebrow from Kitty made Iggy smile, since it was a goofy thing so early in the morning. Looking at Rho, he watched as he took a seat and grabbing an apple tossed it to him. "You look like you could use some energy man," he said.

"Well, any time is fine with me, really - 'tis a matter of what's convenient f'r you is -" Rahne was cut off by the sudden entrance of another of the students, one whose name wasn't readily coming to mind at the moment. He wasn't one of her kids, so she didn't really have much day-to-day interaction with him. Any, really.

He strutted in like a... like a... like something that struts (Rahne was having a particularly difficult time finishing that simile in her head), and as was usual for those who tended to strut about with all the confidence of a champion show dog (there we go!), he ended up making a fool of himself.

She smiled softly and shook her head.
"Quite the charmer you are, aye?" she chuckled lightly, though in truth she was not pleased with his blatant flirting. It wasn't appropriate, that was for sure, and on some level seemed disrespectful. Students should treat their instructors with some level of respect, after all. At least that's the way Rahne saw it.

"I think, though, Dontae, that ye'd best stick with 'Miss Pryde'," she said, folding her arms at her chest. "She is staff, after all. And unless muh memory serves me improperly, ye're still a student."

He was back to his chipper, usual self in no time flat, although it was obvious things had not gone the way he expected them to in his head. Looking over at his long haired friend, he nudged him playfully. "For all you know, I meant to do that....I might just happen to enjoy getting a good look at the floor...while my legs dangle through the ceiling." Ok, it was a crock of shit and he knew it, so he couldn't just help but laugh with the others at his own mishap.

He was also thankful for the apple; it wasn't bacon and eggs, but it was something to tide him over for a while at least. "I'm a lil tired I guess; I'm still gettin used my maintenance hours and all that; and by the way, expect no moral support from me next time you have an energy burp or somethin." Looking over at Rahne, he smiled and took a bite of his apple. "I don't consider myself a charmer Ms. Sinclair, just a confident person whose not afraid of failure, taking risks, or rejection.

And I didn't know Ms. Pryde was staff", he nodded his head in her direction while taking into account Rahne's, crossed arms I'm disappointed slightly look. "If I'd known obviously I wouldn't have made a fool of myself like I just did. In my defense though, she doesn't scream the part. I thought she was a student, honest truth." He did the scouts honor hand sign thing before taking another bite. Then he looked to Kitty and took a breath; he didn't apologize much, but he when he was wrong, as apparently in this situation he was.

"Ms. Pryde, I apologize if I came off as forward or rude or...well probably both. That was just me havin a bit of early morning fun; won't happen again, I promise." Unless you absolutely want it too.....Nurse. That last part was obviously internal monologue, and with no telepaths around or a look on his face to betray his thoughts, he figured he'd climbed far enough out of his own grave that he was good for the moment.

Rahne countered Kitty's offer to come any time that was good for her to fix the computer problems she was having by telling Kitty anytime of the day would be good enough for her. As Dontae came in and made a fool of himself. While Iggy cracked a few joke at Dontae's entrance before tossing him an apple. As Dontae tried to cover up his accidentally drop through the floor and when he realized the first excuse was pretty weak and then went for another about his work hours making him tried. Rahne then got on Dontae's case as well.

And after Kitty and Dontae were introducing themselves. Rahne suggested He call her Miss Pryde instead as she crossed her arms and reminded Dontae he was a student acting improperly around staff members. Kitty had still yet to consider herself a staff member though, Rahne had a specific job teaching elementary school to younger mutants. While Kitty never had an official job title or anything. She just kind of floated around the mansion. Helping out where she could fixing the odd computer here or there, mentoring some of the younger kids should they need someone to talk to. But nothing she felt well enough to call herself staff over.

By this time Dontae was backtracking some more telling Rahne he didn't know Kitty was staff and apologized for being forward and rude and that it wouldn't happen again. “It's fine” Kitty said softly She was pretty used to the kind of person Dontae seemed to be after dealing with Bobby Drake for many years, it didn't bother her much she just kind of ignored it from anyone other than Bobby. Plus she was still too groggy to even care what Dontae was doing. Kitty then turned her attention back over to Rahne as she said. “So we'll say today around one?”

Iggy just sat back and watched the exchange of the two teachers. He had no idea that Kitty had a way with computers and then the knowledge that she could phase through electronics that would probably repair them. She definitely sound tired and he felt very bad that he had woken her up and then more people had continued that. Eating more toast he looked over at Dontae and then up to Rahne. While he was still on the trail of thoughts of powers, he was mentally comparing the powers in the room. Dontae's was very cool being able to control the power of the his molecules. Rahne's power was also very cool the power to turn into a wolf hybrid.

Neither of those powers posed as much destruction as his alone did. His could level a building if it wanted to. Eating another piece of toast his green eyes shifted once again between the three people present. His long hair hung down around his face, just past his shoulders and he knew that he needed to get it cut, but he really didn't care. Looking down at his alarm he realized that he had class in an hour and needed to go shower and change "Well nice to see you all, but I have class in an hour and I need to get ready. Please feel free to eat the fruit," he said getting up and heading out of the lounge down the hall.

[Exit Inferno]

"Well, if she's alright with it, I suppose it's alright," Rahne sighed and shook her head. "Sorry I intruded. I try to be... progressive, I suppose, relatively speaking of course... but well, ye know... the old-fashioned values tend to stick no matter what I do."

It probably was improper of her to take offense at Dontae's advances. It probably was out of place. She didn't think of that at the time, though. It was a simple matter of "students ought not flirt with teachers". Even if Kitty hadn't really taken a teaching position yet. Still, she was an X-Man, she was in that top tier amongst the residents at the Institute. Rahne considered trying to get her to co-teach with her again. That would be something.

"Aye, one sounds great. I'll be wrapping things up with the wee ones by then, so I'll meet ye by my room and we'll get this thing fixed," Rahne grinned. If she had any awareness of just how much more awake and chipper she was than the others in the room, she didn't show it.

"Quite the generous offer, Iggy. Enjoy yuir classes," she gave a light tip of her head to him as he headed out. It was good to see the boy not putting himself into an accident-prone situation again. Granted, the lake wasn't frozen over anymore, so theoretically, he should be good.

"I think I'd best move along as well, actually," Rahne said. "Got a bit of supplies to gather up for the day. Get yuirself some rest, Kitty. Quite frankly, ye look awful."

She was hardly one to mince words when she felt it appropriate. And she considered Kitty a friend, and thus cared for her well-being.

"Catch up with ye at one, Kitty!" Rahne called out as she made her way out of the lounge and moved on to her classroom.

[Exit]

Now it started to get a little awkward and some people started to make their exits from the room first it was Inferno who kept pretty quiet as he listened to Rahne lecture Rho about how he should act more respectfully around the mansion staff, before excusing himself stating he needed to get ready for his class and offering up the rest of his breakfast for anyone interested as he left the room. As Rahne finished up by saying that 1 o clock for Kitty to drop by to fix her computer was fine and wished Inferno well as he headed out. And excused herself saying she needed to get things ready for her day as well as telling Kitty she needed to get some rest.

Now with Rahne and Inferno gone, Kitty did feel a little awkward being in the room alone with the one called Rho. So she rolled off the couch she was sprawled out on and groggily staggered to the other side of the room as she looked over to address Rho. “Rahne is right, I better try and get some sleep in my own bed, especially if I am going to have some work to do today.” Kitty continued walking making a point of walking over to where Rho entered and dropped through the floor of the Co-Ed Lounge and Phased herself through the floor around the same place he did falling down to around her waist.

While positioned in between the floor boards she spun around again looking to Rho, and said “Oh, and watch your step on the way out, this step is a real doozy.” Kitty chuckled slightly to herself and pulled herself up out of the floor and continued her walk back over to her room hoping to get some sleep before one o clock so she could be better prepared to help Rahne with the computer issue she was having.

[Exit]
