Physical Appearance: In his flesh form Bobby appears to be a normal average human. He has brown short length hair. He wears his hair with spikes, although on occasion (mainly because he's either too lazy or too sleepy) the Iceman has been known to leave his hair 'bed head' messy. He's eyes are blue, about as blue as his ice form is. The Iceman stands tall at 5'8". While he not much of a slouch-er, it's a whole different story if he's playing video games. Bobby weights 145 pounds in his flesh and ice form. That is unless he adds more ice to his self.


The Iceman possesses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engages in moderate regular exercise. In his ice form he become solid ice, when he first transformed into his ice form it was like snow. That had earned him the nickname 'Frosty The Snow-Man'. But as he learned how to control his powers more the ice that he formed himself into had become translucent. Not often, maybe as an act of intimidation, he'll form spikes on his shoulders.

Powers:
Iceman is able to lower his external and internal body temperature without harm to himself, thereby radiating intense cold from his body. Iceman is able to reach -105 degrees Fahrenheit within a few seconds, and is immune to sub-zero temperatures around him.

In addition, Iceman can freeze any moisture in the air around him into unusually hard ice, and thereby form simple objects such as slides, ladders, shields, and bats. Iceman can also augment his ice form with extraneous moisture to enhance his strength and durability, and can reshape his body's ice form at will by using any available moisture from his surrounding environment. Similarly, Iceman can rebuild his ice form if any part of it is broken or if it is shattered completely without suffering any permanent damage.

Iceman was able to transform his body into solid ice and back to human form at will. Bobby also possesses the potential to transport himself quickly over great distances through nearby flows of water by merging his body's molecules with those of the stream.


Weakness:

Like that of any trained athlete, the Iceman's ability to perform is directly related to his daily physical health and current mental state. Under normal conditions, he can usually form ice continually for a period of about 5 hours before becoming exhausted. As for repairing himself; Bobby has to put concentration on it in order to repair anything that shattered in his ice form, if anything was shattered. After such repairs he needs to rest and revert back to his flesh form. But if he were to go back to his flesh form to soon the wound or repair that he would have to make could result in a fatal injury.

Theoretically, the Iceman has an almost unlimited supply of moisture at all times since it is always present in the surrounding air or environment. Even desert air has sufficient moisture content for him to make practical use of, although the process takes somewhat longer. However, the mental effort needed to employ his mutant power which quickly fatigues him and render his freezing ability temporarily dysfunctional.


Personality: There's a lot of things you could call Bobby. Brazen, cocky, a flirt, the jokester, loyal, friendly; all of which are completely true. He puts on a good show and talks big, especially when it comes to girls. He'll talk as if he's the biggest ladies man of all time but when he's actually on a date with a girl Drake becomes a little shy and one hundred percent chivalrous. 'Ya don't hit girls, you treat them better than queens' a personal motto that he keeps to his self.

Yes Bobby is the type to be bold enough to take on more than one bag guy or a bad guy that's might be out of his league. But that doesn't stop him in the least. He's been a jokester all his life, making jokes to lighten the mood, change the subject, or just to be funny. Drake is a very friendly person, and has been known to make friends relatively quick. And once you are his friend he's loyal to the end. Defending them any way, shape, or form he can.




History:

Bobby Drake discovered his mutant ability to create ice while in his early pre-teens, yet kept his condition hidden from everyone but his parents. Initially, Bobby couldn't control how cold he was feeling and shivering, and in his first month of high school he wasn't able to go into class. Because the low temperature he gave off started to form any room he was in into a winter wonderland. Soon after he had started to become more in control of shivering and the feeling of being cold but had to be moved to the garage because he still wasn't in control of the temperature he expelled. Day after day his parents had become worried over their son's future.

Bobby's parents called around, having heard about Charles Xavier and his 'special' school. When they finally got in touch with him Charles came to see the young mutant to invite him to his school. He met Bobby in their garage while he was unable to control his power to turn back into his flesh form. After a few hours of talking the 'snow man' accepted Xavier's invitation to enroll at his School for Gifted Youngsters. He took the codename Iceman.

Though he first joining in his snow-like 'Frosty The Snow-man' form, Bobby soon learned to increase his degree of cold control resulting in an ice-like, almost transparent form. And had learned to control his powers to where he could revert back and forth to his flesh form. Iceman, became known as the comedian of the group. Regardless, he pulled his weight and worked well with teams. And eventually became a high school graduate via Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. After Scott and Jean's wedding Bobby decided to go back home for a while. To spend some time with his parents and think about what he was going to do next in life now that he was a high school graduate.

Bobby returns to the mansion with a possible plan he wants to become a reality. A plan to be one of the team members of the X-Men and get some college courses in. What he wanted to major in college the Iceman wasn't sure but whatever it is he would want to include his friends back at the mansion. All that Drake has left to wonder about is if he'd be able to live at the mansion still or if he should be looking for a new place to live.




SAMPLE RP POST:

Bobby Drake hugged his mother and his father, after a lengthy stay (nearly 6 months) it was time for him to return where he belonged, at the institute. He hadn't known much of what was going on, a good portion of his return home Was spent elsewhere (vacations and whatnot). But from what the Iceman had heard a lot of big stuff had gone down. Not paying attention to the news and more on video games and chasing girls while trying to get in some bonding time (which consisted of Monopoly... lame!), the icy mutant was a bit fuzzy on details.

"Bye mom, bye dad. I'll write!" He got on the bus and waved. As he took his seat Bobby could see three definite things, his mom crying, the seats ahead of him, and the hot blonde making her way towards him. A huge smile swept across his face as he thought, "Please sit next to me. Please, please please!! Sit next to me." The blonde smiled and waved... to the brunette in the very back. The blonde walked past the sub-zero hero and sat next to the other girl. Just then a heavy set woman came onto the bus. He thought in his head, "Please don't sit next to me..." He protested more and more as the woman got closer and closer. She stopped, right next to Drake and his seat. "Excuse me young man, I believe you have the window seat."

Bobby looked at his ticket pretending to be oblivious and reply, "Well! Whaddya know? I do, I'm sorry." There was no sarcasm in his tone, it never hurt to be polite. After moving the brown haired 20 year old looked out the window and saw his parents, after a small wave the bus left. The woman moved around in her seat knocking the mutant around. She lowered her eyebrows and asked, "I'm sorry, young man, are you cold? You feel cold to me." Drake looked at her and smiled, "Naw, I feel fine. Thanks though." She had no idea, how cold he could get.

The Iceman couldn't wait to get back to the mansion. See all his old friends, get his life back in order. After that small hiatus he took, Bobby had no doubt he'd have a lot to catch up on. Gossip, work, training. He nearly laughed out loud at the thought of his first danger room session after being out of the game for half a year. He wondered how out of practice he really was with his powers. The flirtatious 20 year old would kick his self if one of the news at the school beat him in a DR session.

The sides of the bus rumbled as they made there way, it was only a few hours away but Bobby insisted on the bus ride. He couldn't stand to see his mom cry whenever he left. Not to mention the nagging along the way. He smirked to himself at the thought. About thirty minutes had passed when the bus came to a sudden stop. There was minor clamoring among the passengers, the Iceman could hear the bus driver mumble some obscenities. And right as he stood to see if he could get a better view there was four men in ski-masks with hand guns pointing to the driver and passengers.

He thought to his head, "Nothing is ever easy." The thugs shouted for everyone to sit down and keep quiet, as well as pass up any jewels or cash they had. The passengers whimpered while the thugs made threats and collected valuables. They were approaching Bobby and the heavy woman. When they arrived the woman complied and the brunette young man just calmly sat. The thug yelled out, "Give us your wallet man!" It was all Drake could do to smile, he felt he could take those men. "It's in my bag." The robber gave an aggravated sigh and cried out, "Then get it out!" The heavy set woman was ushered out of her seat.

As Bobby stood the woman scurried to the back of the bus, hoping that because she did they'd leave her alone. He pretended to reach for his bag in the overhead carryon compartment (the folks were nice enough to get him in a charter bus). His hand got close but in the flash the thugs weren't paying close attention The Iceman reached out and a stream of cold and ice left his hand. The thugs yelled out but he had already frozen the robbers' hand. The thief dropped to the ground and cried out in pain, the two closest to the door ran away and the last stood shaking while holding his gun.

Drake scratched his head and looked at him, "Ya know you should just give up now... cause well..." Faster than a blink the sub-zero hero changed into his ice form. "I'm The Iceman." The man yelped and fled the bus. "On second thought... those guys didn't pay for their tickets... Excuse me folks I'll be right back." Before exiting the bus he froze the first thugs' hands and legs like cuffs of ice so he wouldn't escape.

Iceman left the bus and saw the three men running. They sure didn't get too far. Using the moisture in the air Bobby made a stream for him to glide on to catch up to the thugs. Which he did so in a rapid order. Using one hand to continue the stream he used his free hand to freeze the legs of the thugs.

Gliding as if he were surfing Bobby Drake landed in a graceful fashion. Quickly freezing the three thugs' hands as he did. With a smirk he said, "Shame on you all for trying to get a free bus ride. Now I hope this means you all will re-think your choices in life. Oh and don't worry I'm sure the police are on there was to thaw you guys out." In the distance the Iceman could see a sentinel approaching. "Whoa, that's my cue. See ya!"

Using the stream of ice to glide on Bobby made his way back to the bus. As he stepped on the patrons on the bus grew deathly quiet. With one hand he grabbed his bag, with the other the thug he had originally left behind. He stepped off the bus and propped the thug against the side of the bus. After freezing him there to avoid him running off scot free, The Iceman reverted back to flesh. And decided to walk the rest of the way casually. As if a man made of ice was never there.

Bobby Drake couldn't wait to hear the lies in tomorrow's newspaper. The lies about how a mutant terrorist stopped a bus full of patrons but freezing them. He sighed and slung his bag over his shoulder.
