THE UNBEATABLE BAD ASS & THE ADORABLE SUE.

There is absolutely be no god-moding, power playing, sue-hood or puppet-play allowed on XMR. This means that Your character is not god. You are not the supreme being, and you can not dodge and hit everything. And you certainly aren't the most beautiful creature to have ever walked the earth. If that was true, then there's not any point in rping with anyone, is there?

You can not control another person's character. If you hit them, that's for them to decide- only they know what their character can dodge, or what will land. If you have concerns about this, see the first part of this rule decide and then contact an administrator. Obviously, we wont let them get away with anything unreasonable. Don't think we're not watching. We are.

IN GAME LAWS & RULES.

All in character laws and regulations must be followed, or you will pay the consequences. Even if you do escape.. say, an arrest, there will be retribution, and many times it will be worse than being arrested. Think about what you do in your rps, and how it would happen in the real world.

Make your roleplaying Believable. For example- Betty can't be an emotionally unsteady girl who can't deal with human contact, but then all of a sudden, when Steve comes along, she's a happy go lucky bimbo lookin' for a night of fun. Be reasonable, people. Stick to the traits you give your characters, research injuries, research events. If you don't know about something, and can't be bothered to research it so your character knows, then don't have your character know. Simple as that.

This is a mature rp, but it is not meant for you to make a million babies that you otherwise could not have. There's no rule against characters having sex. However- the actual 'act' of sex should 'fade to black' when it comes to the nitty gritty details. Said rp must be marked with an [m]. Furthermore, as this is a rated R site- there will be violence, drugs, blood- all that business.

The staff of Xmen: Revolution are all here to help out every single one of the members. We don't tolerate rudeness to any player, staff or not- push us too far, and you will be banned. This sort of thing is vital. Treat us with respect. We aren't here to be mean and make life hard, and we do have lives. Please send all concerns to one of the administrators. This shouldn't even have to be mentioned, but sadly, it does. The administration staff WILL NOT tolerate flaming, trolling, and general rudeness on this site. If you are seen doing this, it is a two strike offense. On the second go, you will be permanently banned.

QUALITY & QUANTITY

Though I do not expect you to be the next Hawthorne, one liners are absolutely unacceptable. I understand that sometimes one will not have much to say, But everyone- and I mean everyone- MUST post at least 200 words. This is NOT hard to do. Generally, this is 2 long paragraphs of 5 sentences, or 3 paragraphs of 3. Really, most of you do more than this on a general basis- this is just the minimum. Really, you all should be capable of more and generally we do expect a bit more- the 200 should be used for action threads, or the ending of things. We keep this low not so everyone can slack off but because honestly putting limits on things just feels too restrictive.

Also- use good Grammar. Every sentence doesn't need to begin with she, the, or it. Step back, read your post. see if it flows right. If it doesn't.. rewrite it. It wont hurt anything, and it'll make you a better roleplayer.

Also, under no circumstances is colored text allowed in game play or samples. It clutters the board and some of our players have difficulty seeing other colored text.

You are limited to as many threads as you can manage. However- for you especially active plotters, be sure not to take every role- this isn't because we wanna keep you out, but more to make sure everyone gets a chance to play. However- in order to maintain timeline, we require a 'timestamp' so things are kept in order. The rules code is Blackbird.

Be as active as possible. It's hard to have a board and someone not show up for a month. It's understandable if you have an issue that requires your absence and we are certainly understanding when it comes to this when you simply let us know. If you are inactive for a month, we will send a warning- if no reply is made within the week, your character is deleted and moved to archives.

If your activity wanes because you're feeling out of place or not quite sure what to do- we can't stress this enough! Let us know! We can't help if we don't know!

You are allowed to have more than one character, obviously, but we want to establish your first character before applying for another. That being said, before you apply for a second character you must have at least 15 or so in-character posts and 30 days must have past since the first character was accepted before we will even consider accepting another profile.

However, if you joined with one character and then decided that you're really not into them, or can't seem to fit them in with the site and want to change, then let us know. We're more than happy to work with you on that.

Players are allowed three characters, with options for more on staff approval. This is a change. Before we allowed five, but after several burn outs requiring us to fill large holes in our roster, this rule has been changed. Think you can handle 12 characters? Prove it to us!

THE GUTTER: [our cbox]

By this point in the rules, I'm sure you've taken a gander at our cbox- or, as we've started to call it- the gutter. XMR's cbox is a bit more crude and shall I say.. off beat than some other sites. Please note that within our cbox, there are few rules and we have turned off the language filter. That doesn't mean it's a complete free for all. For example- joking is all done in good fun and done in a jovial intent but that does NOT mean you can provide unsolicited critique on profiles, writing, characters, etc.

Actual rudeness, repeat open hatred or hostility is not allowed. If you feel offended or attacked; please contact staff and they will definitely help you out.
It does get way dirty. If it bothers you, feel free to ignore it. But if you join in- you're more than welcome to get just as crazy as we do.

OPEN DRINK POLICY

DO NOT EAT OR DRINK WHILE VIEWING THIS BOARD AND ANY OF ITS CONTENTS.

Okay, this isn't so much a rule as it is a helpful suggestion. Many of our writers focus on humor in their posts, some more successfully than others. Laughs, giggles, snorts and guffaws are normal side-effects of using XMR. However, combine that with a mouthful of latte, and you have yourself a textbook Heimlich maneuver just waiting to happen. XMR will not be held responsible for any choking and possible deaths incurred by inopportune laughter, nor ruined laptops/desktop monitors from spewed Spaghetti-O's. We could send an e-card as a token of our sympathies, but it's not like you'd be able to see it anyway.

All that being said: XMR can be a bit overwhelming at times. There's lots of people, lots of plots, lots of factions. Don't be afraid to ask us for any help! The administrative staff is always here for you to run things by.
