We have faced the ravages of Apocalypse and his horsemen. We've seen darkly mirrored images of ourselves from the World without Xavier. We've lost friends, home and security because of the Purifiers. We've defeated the Skrull invasion and we are all again who we believe ourselves to be.

The rebuilding of the school is nearly complete, and by the beginning of next year, we should be able to move back into the new Xavier School. For now the team remains divided, with a small number in New York City's Worthington Towers, leaving the students and their teachers in the Utopia base hidden in the Savage Land. Between attacks by agents of Weapon X, terrifying anomalies and the innate dangers of both the concrete jungle and the primeval one.

In Mutant Town, X-Corps and X-Investigations work tirelessly to improve the lives of both mutants and humans. Beneath the city, X-Factor and the Morlocks attempt to survive in peace. From the high towers of the Hellfire Club, to the depths of the oceans where the Brotherhood protects the mutant refugees who have fled their homes seeking Sanctuary to the helicarrier bases of SHIELD, problems have arisen for all of our factions, but nothing we can't handle, right?

However, the arrival of a quartet from the future, Franklin and Valeria Richards, Talia Wagner, and most concerning Rachel Summers, spells danger of a nature we can't fathom. What happened to our world that the devastating time they come from was brought into existence? How did mutantkind lose a war we haven't truly fought? What made humanity resort to mass genocide, concentration camps and the reinstitution of the Sentinel program? How do we stop it when none of the time travelers remember what happened, and what made them come to our time?

One cannot break the rules of time and space without suffering the consequences... much less four...
What have they brought with them? What has been lost?
The [REVOLUTION] is coming.

But this time, the villains have the upperhand..

So I have two kinda suggestions. One would be a new forum and sub forum. For emails.

This way someone in the Mansion can send communications to say someone in X-Factor, or SHEILD or whatever without an actual thread to say something minor Like Pietro sending love notes to Avery. Could be a good in character way to ask people to enter threads. Like if Rahne had a thread up and sent Kitty an email saying meet me here. Or to just be used as a basis to set up threads in general. Like Sabretooth sending Wolverine an Email saying Hey you suck lets fight. Kinda deal. Just a quick easy way to drop small messages back and fourth.

And the other would be, Since it looks like the X-Men team is getting rather large with over 20 members or so, perhaps splitting the group up into smaller team based groups. Like how X-Factor had their two separate teams. I know that didn't really get over with the students being in different teams, But perhaps it could work with the actual X-Men to separate them into smaller teams. Get some team vs team sessions going in training when nothing is going on. Or in those bigger plots having 2 teams with 2 separate goals. And even just sending out 1 team to handle a situation while the other team goes off somewhere else.

The latter might not really be entirely feasible, for various reasons and such but I personally like team based situations. But eh, thought i'd throw it out there just some ideas.

That could work. Could be a nice simple little thing, a way to reveal more about how characters interact, how they interrelate and whatnot.

But I don't think Sabretooth has really joined the digital age. He'd probably just as soon scrawl a note out to Wolverine in blood or something.

I think that the first one could probably just be another game in the OOC section. I mean... I don't see Sabretooth knowing how to use emails or Cyclops accidentally sending love letters to the entire school instead of just Jean. A whole board dedicated to it is just... too out there. Then you'd get people like Hank or Kurt complaining about having to type on normal keyboards, stuff like that.

As for the second one, I know we've done groups before and they never really turned out to be anything but a headache. Some have tried to get together again like for New Mutants or something, but personally I think they reject OC characters. Then you have people not participating and slowing things down, general RP problems like that. Teams seem to be better in terms of 'on-the-fly' threadage like we do, only people don't seem to take the chance with that. While I know Scott is always team leader on the large scale, other teams could be formed for other plots (I've offered Kurt to be a team leader as well if they ever had to split up). I mean really, it's just character organization on a different scale. It comes down to whether people put in the effort to carry it out.

But yeah, it's more IC that its feasible to pull off. No need to muddle up forum member groups and have 3 different X-Men groups going about.

In support of that, I do advocate the wish for more X-Missions that are more generic than plot-based. Daily missions of a super-hero sort.

I'm going to agree with Kurt here. An entire subforum dedicated to emails would be a bit much, when people barely use plot pages or the likes as it is. A thread in the games section would be cool for those who want to play around with this. There was a facebook thing going on in there.

And there are a large amount of X-men, but not all of those are active. We actually recently merged the two X-men groups anyway, as it just seemed unecessary to keep them separate. As it stands we have sign ups for plots that give us teams for those specific missions. If people want to get together to have training groups or the like, there's nothing stopping them from doing that to explore different groupings within teams.

It is a lot about organisation and what people want to do. More missions would be a good idea and one we can develop,

I do think the X-Men seperating into seperate teams/squads could work, canon I believe has something like that (and has done it in the past), examples are the red, blue, and yellow teams, or alpha, beta, gamma, etc teams/squads that I believe I've seen in recent years. Each team could probably have someone leading their own division of X-men and Senior X-Men Students to build a well balanced team. The main problem I see with this would be a reliance on squad members and other people if we did strictly squad/team based stuff. While I suppose people could be supplemented to keep the teams even and stuff, or certain members would just be for reserves or something. Its possible, just I'm not sure how well it would work. I also agree with Kurt on just generic super hero stuff for both X-Men, X-Factor, and SHIELD (but more like cops for SHIELD *queues Law and Order intro*).

I'm not really sure about the first idea because i'm not really sure how exactly that works? something like two students both using AIM or something? Emails sent to one character to another? If that's the case I think that could be something that could be pulled off by the players using AIM or PM's and then just trying to format it like an IM session or an exchange of emails between the characters. (I've actually had Beast use an email in game in his first post, his email address is hmccoy@xshl.edu, xshl=Xavier's school for higher learning). Then the conversation could be posted as a joint post between the characters, possibly adding reactions to each character behind the scenes or something. It could be slightly complicated but if pulled off right it could probably work quite well.

Well we tried squads before and it kinda went boom, granted that was always set up in training threads and the like.

We could do teams again, I've always been game for a New Mutants, but sign ups are easy its people staying committed and posting that's hard. That was the goal of the Heroic age to begin with smaller plots, so characters could get development and growth and get a chance to shine so people didn't always feel anger at the big guns. I'm not knocking anyone's idea, I'm all for it, but I think it's important to put out that people can have plots, but it's up to them and those they let sign up to carry them through. What's the use in calling yourself a New Mutant, or Hellion, or Corsair, or Huffle Puff if it's not seen through.

Yea, I would totally stay away from canon groups, IE. New Mutants, Excalibur ect, Since those never work out and exclude members. And I am not even asking for different member groups to be made like we had with the students. But more on the lines of the unwritten team 1 team 2, Kinda of what X-Factor had going for a while. With the hope it does spark some more minor single issue X-Missions. Rather then always posting a sign up thread and hoping to get a good group of sign ups. At least with your own team you know who you have and who would be active to help.

Perhaps even having a waiting period for someone to join a specific team once they prove their activity and worth are given a spot on a an active team.

Make it so, you have these 15 active people, split them into 2 teams of 7ish, or 3 teams of 5. and give them free reign to host their own single issue plots. For example say. Kitty, Rahne, Kurt, Cypher are a team. Well the four of us get together say hey wanna do a thread where we save a lost puppy or something, and all jump in on it. Or have some loyalty based missions, say Kurt is abducted by someone, and the rest of his team step up and run to save him. something along those lines

As for the communication idea, I think it's just too much work and a hassel to have a borad just for communication. If you wanted to write a letter to someone in game, just talk to the player OOC and have them drop a mention of them in their threads. If you want a real time phone call, just pick a location of one of the characters and play it out. For example, If Sarah was to call Riva at X-Corps (no idea why, but whatever), We can start a thread physically at the X-corp Forum, but within my post I can just write about being in my room and hearing the sounds around her.

As for the other teams, I like the idea of more small threads for super heroing and such, but i think breaking up into smaller units would both divided our team and make it so that the major team up threads harder to do. If we do smaller super hero threads, I think that we should just jump on it. Have players propose ideas, set a small player limit and see who shows up. Let the small teams up happen naturally and with whomever is willing. That way we can also have a buffer from three out of four players in a small team dropping out and leaving the fourth player with no one to thread without outside of the once a year major plot.

What about teams from a specialization basis. I mean if Sabretooth is on a rampage somewhere, Cypher isn't going to be much use, and if there's a major tornado nearby which causes lots of property damage and people need help, how much good could say Bruiser do. Just thinking you could maybe make teams with specialized purposes, and in the larger scale threads they all still do those purposes. Like you could have a recon team, a support team and an assault team or something. It wouldn't necessarily solve some of the problems with general teams but I just figured I'd put it out there anyway.

I like the e-mail thing, it's a cute idea, but i think that could just be like a ooc section thing.

Teams? If you guys mean like the squads? I vote no. We tried that long ago, if you mean like add in more factions (ie: x-men, x-factor, bhood, shield) I think the ones we got are sufficient enough. I don't think we need any more extra stuff added onto the already massive site.
