How to apply your new skin!

Administrator Group: Admin Posts: 215 Member No.: 1 Joined: 23-August 04	How to apply a skin: ~ All of the skins on this site are for Non-Premium xanga. ~ Make sure your xanga settings are set how the new skins settings are. ~ Copy 2 of 3 into your Custom Header HTML. ~ Copy 3 of 3 into the Website Stats area. ~ Make sure you change USERNAME HERE (etc.) to your xanga name throughout the code, otherwise the links will not work. ~ If the skin still isnt aligned or doesnt work, delete the code on your look and feel and re-enter the code. ~ If you make a mistake and your xanga becomes unavailable, or really messed up, go to: xanga.com/claf and click on "revert to default". ~ If after all of this, your skin still doesn't work, please message Extreme Laura or Sarah, and we'll help you out! :: It would be best to upload the skin image to your own host, because you never know when our host might be down :: We will host it for you though.

The first part of the code should go into the "HTML header" section of your Look and Feel page. THe second should be pasted into the "WEBSITE STATS" part of the look and feel page. After that, preview the site and if it works, then click the yes button at the top of the page.. One more thing, REMEMBER to go through the code (the first one) and change all the "YOURNAME" to your xanga screen name... Does that make sense?

Okies first you log into your Xanga, and then you click on the look and feel link in ur control panel thing.. lol

Then when you've clicked on that, all the settings should come up.

Under The 'Header' Section, where the little pull down menu type thing is, it should say Hide Header or Create A Custom Header... OR Input Your Own Header HTML.

If it's not already selected on "Input Your Own Header HTML", select it

Once it's selected, then you go get your skin that you think is cool or want to put on your xanga.. and there should be 2 or 3 codes that they give you along with the preview of the skin.

For Example...This is one of set of codes off of a layout i looked at on here =P

CODE

Required 1 of 3:
-Alignment: Center
-Background color: black
-Trim color: black
-Change USERNAME HERE to your xanga name!!

^^ That, You just follow the intructions or whatever is there.. lol ex.) everything that is in the following codes, you would see:
'http://www.xanga.com/Private/SubscribeTo.aspx?user=YOURUSERNAME'
somewhere in the code(s) or something similar to that, you would always change the "YOURUSERNAME" to your xanga account name!

On that part of the code, do exactly as the person says .. in this case Laura.. you would insert that part of the code into the box under "Input Your Own Header HTML" ... just copy & paste it in there!

^^ With THAT code, it doesn't nessesarily have to be the same exact thing, but if there is a third code, you would copy & paste it into the box at the very bottom of the look & feel page... it looks like this
