On the 6th June 2009 Marx and atlantis are getting married!! Glee!!
But seeing as Marx is so far away and that the wedding is in England, Lani is getting dragged into a traditional style wedding!! I don't know why i didn't ask before but any ideas you guys have would be FANTASTIC!!

Our theme is Butterflies and the colours are black, white and red.

Ideas on:
- Readings during the ceromony
- Music to be played
- Invitation wording
- Any pictures you find you think will inspire
- Flower choices
- Inclusive ideas to add comics to the day
- Tiara ideas
- Hair styles
- Humourous jokes or quotes to help Marx with his speach! (haha)
- Everything else!!

Well, my knowledge of the English language is rather large and verbose....so if you need help writing the invites...or ideas....I am available.

As for pictures....I dunno if you have your dress picked out but I found something that goes with your colors

Also there are some wedding favors that are butterfly shaped, though I'm sure you could spray paint them.

As for flower choices, white or red roses seem cliche, but they might work.....otherwise I'd say white lilies and red carnations.

I'd say I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not. I excel at not giving a shit. Experience has taught me that interest begets expectation, and expectation beget disappointment, so the key to avoiding disappointment is to avoid interest. A equals B equals C Equals A, or whatever. I also don't have a lot of interest in being a good person or a bad person. From what I can tell, either way, you're screwed. Bad people are punished by society's laws, and good people are punished by Murphy's Law. So you see my dilemma.

Wow i love that dress!! I especially like the capped sleeves, I'm still torn between a red dress or a white dress...i found two i like but i cant explain about them or Mark will read! Its so hard keeping that a secret!

I think i'm covered on the invitation information front, i'm keeping it really simple...though closer to the date i may want help wording the 'we want money not gifts' part...

But ideas for readings!! from songs....poems...that bit from star wars...anything!!

Might be best if i told you my plans!

I have white lilypad style invites that i'm putting red butterflies on with crystal 'flight' dots, tied with a black ribbon and with the information printed on red paper inside.

I already bought the favour boxes, they're black to be tied with a white ribbon and white to be tied with a black ribbon and to fill them we're going to get black and white m&ms with our names on and also the date from the website.
For place names i found these fantastic butterflies that sit on the glasses, also in black and white.

...And some confetti. Black & silver dots and silver butterflies.

I found a person on the net that sells 7 tier perspex cake stands so i need one of those, and we're going to have chocolate and lemon cupcakes instead of one big expensive cake...not completly black and white i know...

Bridesmaids are going to wear black dresses with white somethings...maybe roses, my flower girls i've already got their dresses which are white and cute! and i'm thinking either having them carry a big red gerbera user posted image or a basket of petals to throw (hopefully at my mother.)

This is where we're getting married, The Conningbrook in Ashford. the picture doesn't do it any justice, theres this huge circular pond to the left of the picture that i would have included! plus at the end of this summer there will be a refit so everything will be shiny and new for us!!

More news to come, especially after my ultimate bridal shop mission around the rest of Kent on wednesday!! I'm so excited i could explode!!

ah um song? try. "you found me" by kelly clarkson.
oh as for monies, do the money dance at the reception. it's where the guests pay to dance with the bride or groom in cold hard cash. though the amount is up to them, it is a great way to get moolah

Oo I like the money dancing idea. <.< Though I should probably learn to slow dance shouldn't I? I doubt headbanging or the Napolean Dynamite dance would be appropriate. Oh, and I bought some magnetic "Save the Date" cards yesterday with butterflies on.

I heart our save the date magnets!! And we're thinking 'The Reason' by Hooberstank for our first dance, mixture of rock and slow. Or 'Feeling Good' by Muse or maybe 'Brown eyed girl'...maybe.
But my dance with my dad is going to be 'Sweet child of mine' by Guns and Roses!! Legend!! or maybe something by Queen...

For you and your dad Lani, you could try Aerosmith "Don't wanna miss a thing" Steven Tyler wrote it for his daughters, and if I could have the dance with my dad, that's what I'd pick. But to each his/her own.

And Nick, remind me never to let you choose the music at my wedding.

hmmm...i don't know about over in the states but here thats a total couple song...would be a little weird to dance to it with my dad...plus we want more of a rock tune.

I just bought a 7-tier perspex cupcake stand!! yay!! It was cheaper to buy my own than to hire one! Crazy!!
