It had been a while since Seth and him returned to the mansion. The lycan was already used to be in the place and had started to receive his training... But by the side of the training sessions he was reading.

I don't need the full moon to shift... My grandfather found a way and now I've got the idea... but... why had it to be so painful? Thought Fenrir, standing in the middle of a garden. It wasn't the morning yet and the lycan was already trying to shift his form.

His upper body wasn't covered, he knew anything he was wearing on it would be teared appart as he grew. His lower half was covered by a pair of very lose fitting shorts, held in place by a leather belt. His feet were naked too since he knew the claws would never fit in the shoes he used.

The garden was covered in a very dense layer of snow, and even though the lycan was quite resistent of the cold he'd shiver every now and then. Okay, let's try it again. He said it out loud, putting on his hand a knife, quickly cutting his palm and striking the frozen snow with it. His blood started to flow in a pattern he had previewsly made, creating a red circle around him and a star of five points. Selene, make the beast within me awake... HOWL FENRIR WOLF! He said, his final words were a shout accompained after by his best attempt to howl.

But, just as it had started it was gone, leaving Fenrir just about to faint. What he had been using wasn't magic, but it drained him equally or perhaps worse... Afterall he was trying to bring out his true self, tempting it with his own blood... Yet it seemed the young lycan still didn't had enough energy to survive a counsious shift.

The wound started to heal once more, this time it was slower and would take quite a while... three hours more at the least. Breathing slowly Fenrir opened his eyes and watched the sky over him. Not even an hour of sleep and yet I can't achieve it... Could my grandfather be joking when he wrote this? Afterall he said this was the easiest method. Fenrir thought, he could feel his wound pulse and ache, but he was ignoring it... just as he had ignored it the whole night.

He sat in the middle of the blood covered snow, looking at his wounded hand and wondering if he'd ever manage to transform when he heard something. Rustling in the bushes there was something or... someone? Looking at the place where he heard the noise, Fenrir stood and said Just come out, I'm not one to play hide and seek anymore. His words weren't a menace, just an statement that lacked any feeling.

For the first time in years, Kali didn't have to be on the hunt. Sure there were odd days or two that she wasn't technically on the job, but she never really had time to herself. For her vacation, she decided to travel to America. It must be going on thirteen years since she last came to America and never for pleasure. The land may still be recovering from the war, but it's former beauty and potential, future beauty was very apparent. Though not all the scars are from the war. Humans in America were well on their way to destroying themselves before we took over (please note, I do not mean that as an insult, I am from the US and I know how bad we are.).

The plane ride over had quite a bit of turbulence and Kali was grateful when they reached land. Plane rides made her queasy in the first place and off course they had to fly right through a semi-severe storm. The plane had been struck by lightning twice. Though her fright is irrational, since even if the plane was to go down, she wouldn't be killed by the crash. Well unless it was a firery crash, but they were over water.

Kali decided to walk her way through the frost bitten land to her hotel. She traveled light, so all she had to carry was her laptop bag and a small bookbag. The cold didn't bother her at all since her skin is probably five degrees colder than the air. Though she still wore a fleece jacket to not stand out to much. Her steps crunched as she plowed though the snow. Free humans normally didn't come to these parts since there wasn't any proper shelters against the cold. She also coulnd't smell any sign of Vampire or Lycan in the vicinity.

A cold wind changed direction and along with it came the smell of Lycan blood. It may be just the fact that she does have a high lycan hunt count, but the smell of lycans doesn't bother her. She turned in direction of the smell. It was close. Kali could see a rather large house nearby and widely circled it. She reached the frozen remains of a garden and could see a person inside. The source of the blood was instantly apparent as Kali spotted the blood circle. She started to approach but her bag caught on a branch fro a nearby bush.

"I'm not trying to play Hide and Seek. It would be pointless when we could pinpoint were the other is just by scent." Kali responded as she emerged from behind the bush.

fenrir serkan - February 17, 2009 05:10 PM (GMT)
Fenrir was surprised to see someone walking around so early in the morning. The time made him guess she had to be a vampire or a lycan... humans wouldn't go walking around so early for fear of being attacked by either of the other races.

Her pale skin just proved even more the fact that she was a vampire. A pretty one if someone asked the young lycan, who smiled at her, getting a blood stained bandage. He had been using it over and over that night to allow the wound heal a bit faster.

Well, what's doing a pretty vampire walking alone so early? Fenrir said with a smirk, not a malisious one but a rather playful one. The lycan had no intentions to attack her, first and foremost because he wasn't suppoused to go attacking random people, even if Seth hadn't stated it in the rules, Fenrir thought it was just common sense.

Then Fenrir had a brilliant idea... or at least it seemed like good. Perhaps it won't work with my own blood... but one of an stranger? I'll have to convince her to share a bit of her blood with me to tempt my inner beast. Then again if it works and I don't keep my wits... Wait, that's why I got vaccinated! it MUST work. He thought, starting to plan how to make the girl share a bit of her blood.

Excuse me, I think it'd be only fair to introduce myself. The name's Fenrir Serkan, I serve the owner of this house. He bowed sightly in respect to his interlocutor, hoping she didn't mind the fact he was half naked.

kali alvarez - February 19, 2009 07:21 PM (GMT)
Kali watched as he put a bandage on his cut. She wondered why he would do that. There was blood everywhere but she hadn't been listening to his thoughts as she approached. At his words she became a little miffed. She did not like how informal some men could be, but she just told herself that it is how men are. "A pretty vampire like me is walking alone so early because I just arrived here and I'm walking to my hotel. I smelled blood and had to come investigate." She did not mean to sound irritated but it came through her tone just oh so slightly. The smell of blood lingered heavily in the air and it was making Kali hungry. She would never drink a Lycan's blood, since while the smell didn't bother her, it still tasted disgusting. But she wouldn't mind a cup or two of warm human blood.

Fenir's thoughts were unblocked as Kali brushed her mind against his. She listened as he thought of getting ahold of her blood. At least his intentions are not to attack her to obtain it, just to convince her. "Ah, Well Mister Serkan, It's a relative pleasure to meet you. I am Kalianna Alvarez. Though I must ask. What ever do you need my blood for?" Kali didn't normally flaunt her mind-reading skills but she must know before he tries too hard. She just hope he wouldn't take it as an invasion of privacy. She only used it as a defence, it's good to know your opponent's next move before they make it, even if the opponent isn't actually an opponent.

fenrir serkan - February 20, 2009 01:34 AM (GMT)
Don't mean to offend you, it was actually a compliment. If said or not that won't change the fact you look pretty my lady. And I'd like a bit of your blood to see if I can force my transformation... Nothing to be worried since I'm vaccinated. Fenrir explained, surprised for sure, but since he had spent time with Seth he knew vampired had strange abilities.

Seth knew quite well how he was feeling, so it just resulted natural to think there could be vampires that could actually tell what you were thinking. I must say, you've got an interesting talent... Reading minds however can be sometimes considered an insult. I don't mind it, isn't like I would try to keep my intentions hidden. The lycan said with a smirk, thinking that someone besides him would take that as an insult since it was almost like reading a diary or something similar.

He wondered if Kali would stay or if she'd rather go to her hotel now that she knew what was going on with the blood in that place. If she didn't share her blood, he'd have to ask someone else or go hunt a human down... the second being actualy his very last option... Though it wasn't exactly the last since the last was to ask Seth for his blood, that was simply something he wouldn't ever do. He has done enough for me, it'd be unfair to ask him something like this... He thought, kicking the idea of asking Seth some blood out of his head.

kali alvarez - February 23, 2009 07:02 PM (GMT)
"Well, I'm sorry I snapped. In the past I've met some pretty creepy people that use that phrase for a bad reason." Kali could distincly remember a particular memory, before the vampires took over, that a disgusting human tried to do bad things to her in an alleyway. He would have probably lived if it wasn't for the fact that Kali could read his mind. The perversion that filled it was just wrong. She made sure he not only paid for past deeds, but for future ones that she prevented from happening. She knew that it was the nature of humans to have bad seeds but these people should not be allowed to live. That moment was the reason why she became a hunter.

"Hmm I'm sorry but my blood is off limits. But I do have a few packets of human blood in my bag that I could allow you to have one." Kali always carried emergency packs in case she was unable to obtain a human. She swung her bag around and unzipped the front zipper. There nestled safely, surrounded by a small machine that would keep them from spoiling, was six bags of blood. She pulled one out. It was slightly warm, to prevent it from congealing. It flew through the air in a gentle arch as Kali threw it to Fenir.

"When I use my mind-reading ability I only use it for self-preservation. I greatly dislike it when people try to read my mind, so I don't read theirs unless I have to. Your's is an open book. Your thoughts pratically scream from your head. Though I'm glad you don't mind. I'd hate to insult on a first meeting, well unless you deserve it." Kali smile to show that she was joking about that last part. She then backed away so he would have plenty of room to attempt a transformation again.

fenrir serkan - February 24, 2009 12:11 AM (GMT)
Caching the bag Fenrir smiled, he was surprised there could be something like this... Vampires that would keep blood just in case. He knew quite well that women had that amazing ability to pull what you needed the most in the most needed time out of their hand bags... But this was to take the idea to the extreme.

Wow, I never thought someone would carry human blood around, thanks you so much. Well, guess I'm going to give it a try. He said, probably this would work, probably no... Who knew? it was just a matter of try and error and all he could lose was just a bit of blood.

On his knees again, the young lycan opened the bag with his fangs, a bit of the blood getting into his mouth. The taste was very good for the young lycan, it was salty, metalic and just a bit sweet.

Selene, make the beast within me awake... HOWL FENRIR WOLF! He said again, dropping the contents of the bag on the circle around. It was again painted in red, the smell intoxicating. It was a very different smell, a smell that caused Fenrir feel different. As he howled, the change started.

Tail formed on his back, claws grew from his hands and feet, hair thickened and his face was starting to change too. However the transformation failed, and just as it had started it returned to its original state... Minus the fact that now Fenrir was overwhelmingly dizzy and tired, just about to faint. He was panting, exhausted by the attempt. Call... Someone. Was all he managed to say before he fainted, laying on the snow, face looking to it. His body was now losing its temperature quickly, all his energy consumed by the attempt to shift.

kali alvarez - February 24, 2009 04:18 PM (GMT)
"I keep it with me in case I'm at a loss to find a human. Sometimes when I travel, I visit places that are very scarcely populated by humans and I would not like to starve." Her reasoning made sence, but all she had to do when she traveled was go to a different place and she would be able to find humans. Her real reasoning for keeping blood handy was that, at any time during a hunt, she could find herself unable to leave and feed, so it was imparitive to have blood handy to keep her strength up. Most vampires woldn't do that because one has to get used to the difference in taste. And that is why Kali is successful against vampire targets.

The smell of blood filled Kali's nose and all her attention was then focused on the oddity that was happening before her eyes. It was almost unheard of, for a werewolf to change at any time other than the full moon. The process started and she could see distinct changes happening. My God, he's actually starting to transform. Though as quickly as it started, the change stopped, and she watched as Fenrir collapsed to the ground. His heartbeat was faint and Kali moved closer to see what happened.

At his wispered command, Kali ran forward. Shit! what happened? She picked him up, thinking it would be better if he was inside as she tried to find someone to help. Despite her fear of loosing control, Kali used telekinesis to open the door. She quickly found a couch and deposited the unconsious lycan and grabbed a blanket that was laying near-by. After drapping it over him, she went in search for anyone else in the house. "Hello? Is anyone home? Fenrir is in need of some major help!"

Seth rubbed his eyes with the palms of his hands, the burning sensation receding enough to continue on with his work. A rather large stack of paperwork lay on the desk in front of him, almost all of it order forms for more slaves. The rest of the forms, unfortunately, was paperwork regarding the termination of the slaver that had been sneaking illegal shipments of humans onto Seth's transports. It certainly was tedius work, though it was required.

The scrape of the pen against the paper had been grating on Seth's nerves for nearly four hours now. Sal had tried to get him to switch over to electronic forms but old habits die hard. It was the way his father had done it, and it was the way he would do it. It may be a damn pain in the ass, but it was much more reliable to keep three copies of the paperwork instead of having everything accidentaly erased from a hard drive. He wasn't the best with computers anyways.

The intercom on his desk buzzed softly and Sal's voice came on. "Seth, I think you'd better get downstairs." Then, with a click, she was gone. His confusion showing, Seth went over to the wall on his left and entered in a code on the number pad that blended into the wall. A small beep confirmed his entry and the wall folded in on it's self and revealed a large wall of screens. He scanned each of the screens and gasped when the living room cam held a bloody Fenrir and another woman.

Without another thought, Seth rushed through the door to his office, his body a blur because of his vampire speed. He had assumed Fenrir was hurt and it was enough to send his mind racing with fear. Half way down the stairs he sensed another vampire and growled. His lip curled in contempt as he ran the rest of the way down the stairs into the living room where the other vampire sat calling.

Seth glanced at his friend on the couch and rushed at the unknown vampire. He gripped her throat and slammed her against the wall. His rage was clearly evident on his face. "What the hell did you do to him. I swear to god if he dies you're death will be much more painful." He listened for a moment and heard Fenrir's slow heartbeat. At least he was alive. The woman didn't have to die....yet.

fenrir serkan - February 25, 2009 11:43 PM (GMT)
Now in the warm, Fenrir's body temperature stabilized, his heartbeat was slow, very slow. His breathing was slow too, almost unnoticeable. Yet he was recovering, slowly but surely. It was as if a PC was rebooted, the first sense to come back was his hearing.

He could hear Kali shouting for help, saying something about Fenrir needing major help. The lycan wondered if he was alive, he couldn't feel his body and all he could do was to hear what was going on around him. If I'm alive, Seth's going to kill me for letting an stranger get into his property... and for almost killing myself. He thought, wondering what exactly had happened to him.

All the lycan could remember was feeling the change, then a bright flash and telling Kali to call someone. Then he didn't know anything, he was somewhere dark, or at least he thought so, his sight still not back to let him know where exactly he was, his eyes closed as he waited for his body to recover.

The next sense he recovered was his olfactory sense, he could smell Kali, he could smell blood, and he could smell Seth. Was his friend coming? Where was his friend? Where was he? He could smell wood, leather, and a fabric very close... He had to be inside the mansion.

The next thing he heard was Seth rushing against Kali, he knew the other vampire would think he had been attacked, and wished to tell Seth what had happened actually. Hadn't it been for Kali, Fenrir would provably be freezing to death. The next sense he recovered was tact, he felt pain, everything ached on his body, he felt cold, but by far warmer than being outside, he felt the blanket resting on him. He wanted to move, but he couldn't, he heard how Seth menased Kali to kill her if Fenrir died.

Damn it, why didn't I tell Seth I was going to be outside this late? Right, because I didn't want him to be worried... Fenrir thought, he knew he'd be scorned, perhaps even punished for being out so late, and for almost killing himself. S... S... eth. He said with a very weak voice, still not fully recovered, but he had managed a word, proving the fact he was alive and recovering K... Kali. He said again weakly, as if introducing them to each other. K... K... Kali... S... eth. He finished, his breathing still slow and his heart beat weak.

He was definitely going to be better, all he needed was a night of rest and a good meal... And of course to tell his friend what he had done. I... d... did... it.He said, then grew silent. He'd let Kali explain everything from that point on.

kali alvarez - February 26, 2009 03:59 AM (GMT)
{Seth did you by any chance see the goose I gave you?}

Kali called for a little longer. Then she heard movement and a voice nearby. She could hear the rush of wind as another vampire came down stairs and the next thing she knew, she was pinned to the wall. "What the hell?" Kali's body tensed in preparation to fight back. The hand on her neck was painful, but the lack of blood circulation had no effect on her. "I didn't do anything to him" She grunted, though it was probably unintelligible. Of what she could tell, Fenrir was getting better, his stats that she could tell were stronger. She really didn't feel threatened by this vampire.

A feeble voice came from the couch as Fenrir started to stir. Kali hoped that the vampire would hear what he said and realize he was talking about. Though Kali didn't bother waiting for him to let her go. Her body sprang into motion and her arm pulled up. Her fist was clenched tightly as it swung toward the vampire holding her. As it connected with his abdomen she twisted and swung her foot out. She side-swiped at his legs and slipped her neck out of his grip. With out even bothering to check if he went down, she ran to behind the couch. "Stop! I didn't so anything to him. He was trying to force the change outside of the full moon!"

Kali stood there waiting for the vampire's reaction.

seth sarcose selstrom - February 27, 2009 07:23 PM (GMT)
(You sent me a goose?)

Seth tilted his head as Fenrir's heartbeat strengthened and he stated to stir slightly. He started to go toward the wolf when he spoke but was cut off by a punch to his stomach. He doubled over and gasped but was able to hop just high enough to avoid the woman's feet from knocking his legs out from under him. Sonovabitch. Why in the hell did I not concentrate harder on her. I would have been dead had that been her intention.

Instead of raging and pouncing on the female bloodsucker like he wanted to, he stood straight again and walked to the couch and kneeled. His ribs were still sore from the cracks that Fenrir had caused during training the day before. Fear gripped Seth again as he thought about what had happneed between them and how his fears seemed to be coming true now. I told him...and now....he is hurt. I should have kept my big mouth closed.

Anguish showed on his face for a few seconds before he got hold of himself again. He certainly didn't want the woman to be seeing how he was feeling. Normaly, he could sense other emotive vampires if they were around. This woman didn't seem to be one, but that wouldn't stop her from reading his facial expressions. "fenrir," he said, barely whispering it. "You....You need to get up now. There's still plenty to do. Come on now." It was the only thing he could think to do before his intelligence caught up with him again.

"Sal," he said rather loudly. A small crackling came from the intercom above. "Yessir?" He looked up and sighed. "I need medical attention here right away. The best we can get." He could almost hear her nod as she signed off. He looked back to Fenrir and then ran his hand across the wolf's face. Then, he looked up at the waman whom Fenrir ahd named Kali. "What the hell happened?"

fenrir serkan - February 27, 2009 09:13 PM (GMT)
Fenrir's breathing became stronger, to know Seth was there and close made him feel safe, and also made him fight the Death with more strenght than before. His heart started to beat with more force now, yet he wasn't in conditions of standing. His last sense came back, and slowly he opened his eyes.

Everything was blurry, but slowly it became a desent image, he could see Seth by his side, Kali on the other. Seth's words made the young lycan smile, a small smile, a hopeful one. He was happy to be back awake, the feeling of Seth's hand over his face gave him even more of a reason to live, to recover.

'm o...kay... I- He said weakly, but in his voice could be heard the tone that he was glad to be alive again. With a deep breath and a sigh he continued Al...most... did it. In his interior he was grinning, he felt proud of almost managing the transformation without the moon out. So... Grandpa wasn't crazy. The next time I do it, I'll manage it, I'm sure of it... I need to train, to strenghten myself more to bear the transformation... I'll make Seth feel proud, feel safe. He thought.

What Fenrir didn't knew was that the energy he needed couldn't come from himself, even if he trained more, if he became stronger, all that would be futile. The energy he needed would only come once he was bound to Seth, it was just something that his grandfather hadn't left in his books... Of course, his grandfather was particularily strong as a lycan, thus had no need for a vampire to bound with him, but Fenrir... Fenrir was weak.

kali alvarez - March 2, 2009 09:39 PM (GMT)
Kali wasn't used to seeing other vampires show much emotion, other than blood lust and well lust, so it was odd to see the pain that distorted the lycan's master's face. It was etched so deeply that when he tried to hide it, there was still traces of it. The scene in front of her caught her off guard an she hesitated, unsure of what to do. "Commanding him to get up is not going to help him get better you know." Kali said her sarcastic remark half-heartedly. She didn't mean to add insult to injury but it was really stupid to try to demand that Fenrir get up when he clearly can't even focus on anything. Though Kali could hear and see his life getting stronger as he fought harder. Well at least this vampire could make him fight harder, even if he's fighting harder for a comand.

Fenrir's thoughts sounded loud and almost clear when Kali peeked into them. She ignored the vampire all but yelling for help, and just listened to Fenrir. She just barely heard when he demanded to know what had happened. "Wow Fenrir is seriously devoted to you, Seth is it? The transformation was only so you'd have more power, or protection?" Kali mused about this for a second or two before deciding to tell him what had happened. "Fenrir was trying to force the transformation using his own blood. I was passing by and smelled the blood and came to investigate and saw him in a ring of blood. He then tried to ask for my blood, but instead I gave him a bag of human blood. He started to transform and then collapsed. And here we are."
