I have an annoying, aggravating, irritating, lazy, tiresome, boring, stupid, loud, whiney, ugly lhasa apso dog named Scooter. His *ss and head are interchangeable because he pukes as much as he craps, plus his head's as ugly as his butt. However, he is a very sweet, cuddly dog and he loves his belly-scratches. He's eight years old now, I think. Bellina (Belle) is my brother's cat. She's two or three now, and he adopted her as a kitten from the humane society. This cat just finds it to be so darn fun to chase me up the stairs and attack me as I sleep and poop on my curtains. She's nice to everyone else, but ever since she first came here she has nonstop chased me, scratched me, sat on my head, pooped on my belongings, etcetera etcetera. No one else is tormented by her; it's only me. But I love her anyways because sometimes she walks up and cuddles with me. I had a greyhound named Mindy up until recently, when my mom unfortunately forced me to give her back to the adoption center we got her from. We had adopted her when her racing life ended and she was the best dog in the world... but my one year old nephew pulled her tail and she reacted by yelping and nipping at him, which caught him on the nose... I miss Mindy so much...

Yeah, my little sister bugged our cat last night and he bit her on the eyelid... Well, he's bitten and scratched us before, so this really isn't too new... Just how bad the bite is. We have a dachsund (sp?) and cocker spaniel mix named Chloe, sho's about eight years old and her fur color (blond) is not an indicator of her intelligence. Apparently the yellow color in that kind of mix is rare. We also have the fattest, laziest cat on the face of the planet. My mom saw a picture of this big gigantic cruise ship in the paper and said that it looked like Garfield. I responded, "No, that's Tiger". He's a tabby, with grayish-with-brown-tips fur, black stripes, and white markings. He can be bad-tempered, but he mostly just defends himself if you try to kick him off wherever he's chosen to plop his furry butt down. Goldie is what my dad calls a 'factory cat'. He was found in the basement of the building where my dad used to work, along with his mother and whole litter. The mother was taken to a shelter, I think, and the kittens were all adopted by the various families. Goldie's very scared of any strangers, and his favorite place is under my bed. He is a ginger-and-white cat, which is why I named him Goldie. Yes, he's pretty much mine. And my dad's (he finally forgave him for giving him a bath in the sink). He trys o play with Tiger, with the result being that they get in a fight where the much-smaller Goldie ends up skittering away across the floor. Goldie does funny things when he gets scared- once he was sitting on the stairs, and someone started walking down the stairs. Instead of running down, he took a shortcut- leaping six feet straight off and racing to the living room We used to have Charlie, a ginger cat who was older than my brother- he was mostly my mom's. We put him down after treatment for thyroid got too expensive. He's buried in our backyard, in one of my mom's various patches of ground where she grows flowers.

| QUOTE (Raja @ Nov 2 2009, 03:13 AM) | | That's not Mindy's fault. It's your nephew's own stupid fault for pulling her tail. It's his fault you had to give her back, not Mindy's. She reacted quickly and instinctively to something she found aggravating. |
I know, and I explained that very calmly and all to my family, but of course my mom and my sister's (my nephew's mom; they live with us) decisions rule out my own, my dad's, and my brothers. All three of us wanted her to stay and thought it was my sister's fault for not watching her son around my dog even after I warned her multiple times, but nooo, Mom and my sister always get their way! I miss Mindy so much.

I totally understand about mothers always getting their way. We live in a matriarchal society. It's like that one time I begged my mom to let me take home Charlie, my cousin's Bassethound that everyone else was neglecting. And even though he was chained outside all year long, in the scorching heat and freezing cold, my mom still said "No more pets." Though, I'm was more infuriated with my cousin for leaving him, and my aunt and uncle for neglecting him. I mean, he was never allowed inside. He was only fed when someone remembered to feed him, protected only by a small dog house, had no company, no toys, and no regular vet trips, all so that "the house wouldn't get messy". Ugh! I'm so sorry NVG It seems you loved Mindy the most out of all the pets you've owned. I don't blame your nephew, though. Babies are stupid, because they've got so much to learn about the world, and I think he's now learned not to pull dogs tails. And I hope that your mother and sister learn that even a perfectly trained dog is not a mindless creature, but an animal that still has some of its wild instincts. Sorry. I love dogs. I love them so much I go on rants about how stupid people are towards dogs. I have two dogs, both female: Athena- German shepherd. She is incredibly sweet towards people, but is easily jealous of the other dog. If Faith gets more attention than she does, she'll start whining at her, leading to a playfight. Faith- 5-month-old great dane puppy. She's a cutie pie(even for something that's as big as most full-grown species of dogs), but she's SO HYPER!!!!!!! And when she's full-grown, she'll reamain hyper, until her emotional matirity catches up with her body. That's going to be scary It's amazing how much she's grown. hen she was six weeks old, she was thing floppy little bundle, and was easily mistaken for a lab/pitbull/mastiff/hound. But now, you ca totally tell she's going to be a great dane- she has a somewhat skinny body, squarish face, long legs, and big, BIG paws. Several small children who see her freeze in fear. I also have a cat, Lily. I have no idea where she ges during the day. If I could find that koi pond, I'd probably have some idea ...

Yeah, I loved Mindy the most because she was my dog. I used all of my birthday money to pay for half of the total price for her. I chose her out of all of the greyhounds at the agency; I begged and begged for her. She was even adopted before I got her, and when she was adopted (by another family beforehand) I was devastated and I didn't want any other dog out of the agency. I only wanted Mindy, and if I couldn't have her, I wouldn't take any other one. Then, the family who had adopted Mindy decided she was too stubborn for them and I saw her on the site again, and I said, "WE ARE GETTING THAT DOG!" She was my birthday gift that year, and my favourite dog. Ever. What ever happened to the bassett hound? I remember you telling us all that story before. Sucks that you couldn't take him...

Well, fortunately, my cosuin decided to grow up. He just got married, and he took him home. Anyway, weird things my pets do: Athena- likes to play with disgusting slobbery balls( NOT what you're thinking), and sniff so deeply into strangers butts then snort out. Faith- likes squeak toys. And taking over the couch any chance she gets. And eating. And digging holes with her big shovel paws. And biting. I tell her that if she ever meets Sarah Palin, bite her real hard in knee, and do it for real wild cousins Lily- loves hunting-mice, voles, squirrels, crickets, butterflies, snakes, fish, birds, flies, etc. Also likes to hide in my room then wake me up in the middle of the night, demand a cuddle session(where she licks my neck and kneads my collarbones), and then mew pitifully until I let her outside/feed her. Her major goal in life is to sleep on every last bit of furniture/floor/windowsill in the house and yard.
