[ooc] He he, I'm makeing sure you have something to do too...lol

I’m always running from my past, but I know I’ll never forget it…. [ic ]

Maya was a bit tiered she had slowed her pace since she first started on this new journey. Her paws were sore and her muscles ached. Every step she took she could feel the pain surge through her veins all through her body. She had come far to search for a home to call her own. But still she had yet to come to any land that seemed suitable for her likings. Maya, though she had traveled long and far was only traveling to find a way around her past. She believed that if she could find a home she would find away to forget her past. But she always wondered if she would ever be able to forget what she went through to get here. She had gone from an untamed house pet to a free wolf, and that’s not something every wolf goes through in their life. She had walked for what seemed like months but had only bin a few weeks. She had only made it here by hunting for the prey that surrounded her and the small lakes or streams she would pass by. She basically lived off her surroundings, but this all wolves did. But she never stayed at one place for long, she would stay for maybe an hour or so at the most and would be off. She did sleep but even then she would only stay at that spot for the night and when early morn came she was gone like the moon.

She was a bit hot in her semi-thick fur as the sun beat down on her. Her bright pink tongue lolled out and swayed a bit as she walked further on. The wind blew slightly and this cooled her off a bit, it blew her fur back letting her know she was down wind of what ever lay ahead of her. Her tail hung at a neutral position, showing she met no harm to any she met. She wasn’t one to cause trouble and bring attention to her. No she preferred to be unnoticed and unseen by the rest of the world that surrounded her. Her ears were cocked upright, she listened for any sound that of witch wasn’t normal. But so far every thing seemed fine and calm. The farther she went on the more sounds she heard. The bird chirped loudly, the squirrels mad their strange noises, and trees swayed as the wind lightly blew them. Maya stopped for a moment and laid down on the soft grass, it was a relief from all the walking she had done. Though she had stopped before she had gotten back up and was walking once more a short while later after stopping. So she had not gotten a good rest for a while, so her body still ached. She stretched out her legs and could feel even more pain coarse through her veins as she did so. She listened to the sounds of the birds as she laid there in the forest. She watched the bird in the trees that were above her, they flew around and seemed to dance in the air. “How wonderful it must be to fly, to soar and never worry about your troubles.” she said to herself sighing.

As she laid their, she was happy and doubt full all at the same time. She was quite happy she would have a chance she could forget her past and live her life anew, but part of her knew that no matter where she went or what she did she would always remember the horrid times she went through. The only thing she feared was her past, it haunted her. Forgetting it seemed like an impossibility, butut she had hope that one day it would leave her mind and she would no longer be haunted by it. Though this hope was slowly shrinking and when ever she thought about it she always wondered if there was ever a point to having this hope. so what is the point for me to go on? she thought to herself. A small voice inside her head replied to her You must forget your past and move on to your future it told her. “How?!” she yelled out. But there was no answer. “Great now your hearing things, Maya you’ve got to get this nonsense out of your head. “ she said to herself. you didn’t hear that voice, it was all your imagination…yeah that's right, all your imagination. she thought to herself. She took a deep breath in and then let it out, it was let out in a sigh. She knew she couldn’t be going crazy, right? As she laid there she heard a buzzing, a very annoying buzzing. She looked around but she saw no bug. great now your hearing invisible bugs. she thought to herself. The buzzing stopped then started again, she could tell the buzzing was right by her ear now. It was loud and annoying. She pawed by her ear trying to hit the bug., with luck she did and she saw it hit the ground.

Maya let out a sigh of relief when she knew she wasn’t imagining the buzzing and that there really was a bug. She figured the bug was dead but it flew buzzing by her and landed on her head. Maya shook her head, her fur moving quickly along with it. The bug stayed firmly in place on her head, it was like he was glued there. Maya growled a bit at the annoying bug, and pawed at her head trying to get it off. The bug was soon hit and fell once more to the ground. Maya lifted her paw and slammed it down on the bug, Maya yelped when she did. She lifted her paw and saw the bug was dead but why was her paw hurting. She looked to it and saw a cone shaped thing in her paw. She lifted her lips an lightly pulled out the stinger. The pain was still there though, and her pads being sore didn’t help. Feeling the pain in her paws, she was distracted by a very loud sound. It was very loud buzzing, most likely of more of that same kind of bug she killed before. She looked up to where the sound came from and saw a bee hive, her jaw fell open in amazement and in fear. Maya got up quickly and when her pad that had bin stung hit the ground she could feel it sting even more. Maya began to ignore the pain when the buzzing bugs swarmed and were flying down toward her. Maya began to run feeling the pain in her uneased muscles, sore paws and the sting she felt in her other paw. She ignored it all though, for she knew that if one sting hurt that all of their stings would hurt even more and worse then the pain she felt now. As she ran she could smell an alphen sent. She had already gone quite far into these new lands when she noticed the buzzing bugs where not following her any more. Maya stopped and looked about. She now realized she was almost in another wolf’s land, or a dominant sent was very prominent right now.

Maya panted and let her tongue loll out. She was a bit tiered from her run and her journey. Though she was well enough to seek out the alpha of these lands. She walked slowly her legs still aching as she walked., but she was determined for she wanted a place to rest. Who knew maybe she could evens tart a new life here.

She walked until she came up to a shrub like structure that looked like a hedge. She sniffed it and peered into it, and she could see there were many thorns that were laced through out the shrub. Why does it have to be my luck that there is a shrub with thorns all in it.? she thought to her self. Well I might a well just push through and find the alpha, maybe I’ll be able to stay and rest. she continued. Maya began to push through the bush feeling the thorns dig into her wound, pierce into her piller and make the pain strike out even more. Though it hurt she still kept going, stepping on the thorns and getting more and more stuck in her fur and bodice.

Once managing to make it through the hedge and reach the inside of these lands maya let out a sigh of relief. Finally… he said allowed. Maya sat on her haunches and tiled her muzzle upward, eyes staring at the beautiful sky above. She let open her lips, closed her eyes and let out a loud and calling howl for the alpha. Might as well make myself known and not start any troubleshe thought to herself. Now to get the thorns off while I wait Maya said allowed while she began pulling out the thorns that lay on her.

Owning some of the most beautiful lands of Zentez may make things sound easy, but Lakota's unfortunate picking of lands also included a harsh border to travel past. It had seemed like only days before the deep scratches of her first arrival has yet passed. She had nothing to do but lick them clean anyway. Lakota had rested up generously, and was back to her perfect health. Her coat returned to it's shiney glow, her claws sharp, and sences in attention. She could not help but to admire what she had accomplished in so little time. She squirmed through the thorns, cleaned herself up, was able to mark the borders with her scent, and get to know her way around. Lakota felt as if this had been her home for as long as she lived.

A dead hare lay beside her feet as she finished taking her second nap for the day. She sniffed it with disinterest, stood up, and stretched with a long, outdrawn yawn. Looking to some thorns in front of her, she noticed some of it moving. At first the only reaction was a tilted head and tired stare, but she quickly perked her ears up and let out a low growl from her delicate muzzle. Realizing it was a chain reaction, she looked on to further brush, but saw nothing. Almost immediately, she heard a long howl and some muttering, to which she howled quickly, but did not take much time to respond with.

Lakota trotted quickly to this nearby scene and noticed a wolf smaller then herself, cleaning herself of the border of which she had just entered. With an excited bark to see another wolf, but stern to let the wolf know she was still in charge, she walked up right next to the wolf. With a curious gaze, Lakota replied to the howl more properly, "I am Lakota, alpha female of the Azereck pack. Can I help you?"

[ooc] weeeeeeeeeeeeeee….more people need to be here

I’m always running from my past, but I know I’ll never forget it…. [ic ]

As Maya sat there she was opening her haws and delicately plucking out the thorns one by one. As she did this she could feel a quick surge of pain then relief from where she had plucked out the thorn. Trying to pick out the thorns as quickly as possible she tried to pick faster. With each thorn that came out more relief was with her. A few of the area where the thorns ad been deeply lodged into her pads had started to bleed a bit a well as where she had cuts. She began licking at her pads to help clot the blood and stop it from bleeding more.

After picking to the thorns and cleaning her wounds she perked up her ears, catching a wolf like sound. It was a replying howl that she heard, most likely coming from the alpha. A small smile spread across her muzzle and her auds perked up attentively. I hope this alpha is friendly. I can tell by the scents that it’s female so I think I’ll have better chances of it being a nicer alpha. he thought to herself as she waited for the alpha to come. She heard a low growl coming from a female that was approaching her, she knew it was the alpha coming. Maya pulled back her ears an adjusted herself so she could lay down her head down, nose pointing to the ground. Maya didn’t want to start anything with her or upset her.

When she heard her speak she lifted her head back up and perked her ears to hear more attentively. “I am Lakota, alpha female of the Azereck pack. Can I help you?” said the female. ”My calling would be Maya and I come here seeking acceptance in your lands. I wish to become apart of your pack” she said in a reply to the alpha. Maya had yet to look around the lands and really take in it’s beauty. She could see off in the distance from the border many pine trees that seemed to just cover the area as far as the eye could see. She was hopeful to be accepted in this pack, not caring what position she got. She mainly just wanted a place to call home where she could be accepted and forget her past. She looked back to Lakota and awaited her reply.

By the time Lakota had approached this wolf, she was already in a more submissive pose. Because there was no reason for Lakota to react, she left the wolf alone, in her submissive pose. She twitched her ears around, in case there were more wolves around. However, this wolf seemed to be the only one. Lakota stepped back, looked around, and sniffed the air to confirm the presence of this single wolf. Lakota's tail rose up to be higher, but nothing more. She had no reason if this wolf was already showing no threat. She sniffed the air around this smaller female, and saw the blood from which she had accumulated from entering the packlands. She had claimed to be "Maya." This wolf wanted acceptance. Although Lakota was not familiar with the other packs, she still wondered why Maya had picked hers.

The pack was so empty, and she was readily willing to accept other members, yet she did not want to seem desperate. A slight and gentle smile let Maya know that she was welcome to stay. "You are welcome to join my pack. A subrodinate sounds like a sufficent rank for now." As she finished talking, she remembered the hare that had caused no interest in her before. Forgetting completely that Maya had just enetered, she nudged her head, suggesting that the wolf would follow. She was probably hungry, and the hare was just lying around anyway.

Lakota walked, but at a slower pace then last time. She still had her tail in a higher position, and remained so. The hare remained lifeless, and no other animal had come to steal it, which was probably a good thing because Lakota would not ignore it, no matter which animal had stolen it. As she approached the hare, she tilted her head in it's direction to show that it was no longer of interest to her, and that Maya could eat it if desired.

Lakota now had a member! It was exciting, but she understood how she felt when first arriving. There was more for Lakota to worry about though, because she was in unexplored territory. She would let Maya clean herself up, eat, and get ajusted before really showing her around and teaching her the rules of her pack. But she was still curious, "Maya, why did you pick my pack of all of the packs?"

The wind ruffled Maya's fur as she inventively watched Lakota's movements. She had seemed to look around for any other wolves in the area. "You are welcome to join my pack. A subordinate sounds like a sufficient rank for now." said Lakota. A smile spread across May's face. I knew that she seamed nice she thought to herself. "That's fine with me, I'm just happy to have a home." Mays replied to Lakota. She saw Lakota was beginning to walk away and wanted her to follow. So she did, easily lifting her body not wanting to cause much strain on her pillars while she raised herself to a standing position.

As she followed Lakota she took medium length strides, not waning to go to slow but trying to take it easy on her aching pillars. She made sure not to let her tail raise in any manor, for she saw that Lakota kept her tail high and she had not intentions of offending her new Alpha. As they walked the smell f a fresh kill got stronger and stronger. Maya was famished and so the smell made her want to drool at the thought of a tasty meal. She was eager to follow hopeful that she was being lead to food. Her tassel began to wag a bit hitting against the backs of her pillars a she walked. She couldn't wait until Lakota would stop, her legs were much to sore to walk around for much longer. She was in much need of some rest.

When Lakota came to a stop and came up to a hare, Maya wasn't certain if she would get any. Though when she saw Lakota offer she knew she could have it. Maya wagged her tail in a bit quicker pace and walked over to the hare. She put her paw down on the body of the hare bent her head down and opened her jaws. Grasping in a small portion of the hares body and chomping down she began to eat at her meal. She quickly gulped down piece by piece of the hare trying to eat as few bones as possible. Her maw was getting crimson stains on it, but she couldn't care less this little meal was slightly warm and felt good filling her stomach for now.

Once she had finished she heard Lakota speak once more. "Maya, why did you pick my pack of all of the packs?" Maya thought about it for a moment and began to reply. " Well the hedge like structure that surrounds your land seemed like a good force of protection, it made me feel safe. Also I could see the pin trees towering above the shrub and it made me feel at ease once seeing them. I see this place as a very peaceful and safe place to live. Which would be why I chose your pack." Maya was glad to be a part of the pack but truth be told she really hadn't had much of a reason why she came here. She had merely walked through the shrubbery just because some force inside her told her it would be a good idea to go through. She had know idea what the other alphas or terrains were like but she was thinknig that right now she was happy to be where she was.

Maya gulped down the hare quickly, seemingly thankful for this small snack. Lakota sat herself on the ground, her tail now rested around her back legs. A warm, yet comforting mist drifted into her face. She took in a deep breath, and could smell clear waters. This water came from a nearby lake in which Lakota had previously taken a drink. It tasted fresher and was much more calm then the waters of the waterfall she had come across. Despite the better waters of this lake, there was something about the waterfall that made her want to den there instead. She would not yet tell this new member. The den was Lakota's secret place for now, and she enjoyed being the only one to know about it.

When Maya had finished the hare; she told Lakota that she came to her pack lands because it felt like a good source of protection. Lakota could see how the thorns would make an inconvenience, but was not yet sure if it would be the best way to protect the pack. She could see, however, that the pack seemed peaceful. Lakota had not previously seen anything like it past these thorns. As the new member was talking, Lakota walked over to the edge of the thorns again and scratched at the ground, leaving large claw marks to help distinguish her territory, along with the previous scent marking she did. She turned back to Maya with no expression, and wondered if she would be ok to travel to the furthest and safest parts to the pack. The scratches were not the main problem, but Lakota was not sure how far she had traveled. “Can you walk farther, Maya?” Lakota perked her ears up with curiosity.

“The distance we must travel in order to get to the den is long. It is an easy journey, but may take a while.” She almost stopped dead silent, but quickly added, “There is also food at the den.” Lakota had forgotten about the caches she had created from excess food. She was almost never able to finish an entire meal unless it was a small snack such as a hare, bird, or rodent of some sort. There were definitely other sources of food, but no need to collect such small rations that could be used to feed the other animals in the forest. The only hard part of the journey would be getting to the den itself, for Maya at least. Perhaps Lakota would just have Maya rest there for a while, and continue later. It all depended on how she was feeling by the time they arrived.

[ooc]hmmm sleep sounded good last night..now I'm to awake

I’m always running from my past, but I know I’ll never forget it…. [ic ]

The meal had tied her over for now and her stomach gave out a little growl. She knew she was still hungry but she wasn't about to ask for more food. I wonder how far the den is from here. My legs wouldn't let me travel much further, they are much to week to let me go any where now so I doubt I could travel to the den no matter how close it is. I wonder what the rest of this place is like....I hope it’s not filled with shrubs like this hedge like structure here. he thought to herself. She liked her shops and cleaned the blood that had gotten on them. The blood was metallic tasting and wiped off like it was nothing, being swept away by her tongue and swallowed down her throat.

Maya watched Lakota go over by the thorns and begin making large claw marks in the ground. She figured she was making more territorial marks for her borders. Lakota had turned her attention to Maya once more and Maya moved her auds in her direction. “Can you walk farther, Maya?” spoke Lakota. Maya put her head down in a disappointed look for a moment and then looked back up to Lakota. Seeming to be looking like she did something wrong, her auds had moved back more closer to her head. " I regret to inform you that I can't go much further. I need much rest after the journey I have taken to get here. If I can get a chance to sleep then I will gladly follow you to the den." Maya replied back.

Maya turned her direction to the forest that was near by. At the edges before the blanket of pines she could see a few randomly placed pines. She walked over to the nearest one. She took small strides this time, taking her time and letting each paw hit the ground slowly and softly. Not wanting to put more pressure or strain on her already aching legs. Her auds perked back up to a normal up right position and her tongue lolled out a bit. She was definitely ready for some well needed rest. That tree over there will be a nice place to lie under, shade, and though the pin needles may be a bit rough it'll make a nice bedding underneath. she thought to herself.

Once reaching the tree she stretched out her pillars before her cracking her back feeling tension relieve in her. She opened her jaws revealing her crimson stained fangs and let out a yawn extending her jaws to there farthest. She slowly walked around in two circles, sniffing the ground as she did so. After doing so she plopped herself down and closed her eyes, her auds falling against her head. After I finish my rest then I'm sure that food she spoke of earlier will be quite nice to have. I wonder why she has extra food, she must not eat that much. she thought to herself.

Inner chattering, Roe found, can surpass all external noise. So, he let the sounds of the silence that surrounded him be louder. The wavering of his anxious heart seemed to shake even the heavens. Setting his mind steadfast on the fountains of mindfulness, Roe allowed the wind to billow wistfully through the gap between his ears. He realized that without a strong stillbase of concentration, how well then, can insight arise? His body seemed comfortable, his aim established, peace reigned in his heart, and previous mindful striving fell present. Concentration was given into the journey, all else forgotten, the pure concetration that he sought seemed to quickly sink in level upon level, just as waters that tumbled into a pool. The surrounding brush and foliage was magnificent, explosions of colors and jubilancies. Roe could remember, as a young adult, that he thought he could change the world. Turn satans into saints, make mountains out of mole hills, and turn hell into heaven.

But now that he was older he had come to realize the true nature of these bloody others that inhabited the world. Wolves were not made in a day or in a year or even in a lifetime. But rather, it was aeons of conditioning. Wolves themselves must strive, but then even with the greatest of effort it may not come to much. So, Roe had come to realize that before he could change the world, he'd have to change himself, to work harder in training like his father, brothers and his comrade Rayen. After the seperation of the pair Roe knew that it was in the best interest of his own physical well-being to find and make sure that she was doing alright. After experiencing the wrath of her father for playing to rough with her when she was a pup, that was not something he wanted encounter again. He could still feel the father's bite on his flank. A chill ran up Roe's spine at the thought.

The movement of his mits ceased as an odor came to his senses. He put his nose to the ground and found that two scents were present. Although on most occasions he would have stopped there and announced himself, the owners were not at all that far away. Moving forward slowly it did not take Roe long at all to find them. As he gingerly brushed by a shrub Roe stopped as the two came into his sight. One female was already laying at the base of a tree, the other was nearby, but with the way she was holding herself Roe could see her status. His ears flicked back against his head, his posture was lowered some, and his tail tucked slightly between his hind legs.

"Please forgive my intrusion ladies."

Judging by the look you're giving me, I'd say that you've never seen me before. My name is Roe, plain and simple. I have a few years under my belt, five to be exact. I have been tethered to the Azerek, and hold the rank of subordinate. I have no want for a mate, since my enemies have only used them against me, and because of that there are no females that catch my eye.

Spring was definately in the air. The few shedded needles of the pine trees lay on the ground after winter, and some new, fresh, green needles were growing at the ends. The trees without needles had a few leaves, and the rest were budding. Early flowers were already giving off their fresh spring scent, and the gentle breeze carried it over to Lakota's nose. The ice was melting an an alarming rate, which earlier caused some dampness around the banks. Spring was a happy time for most wolves, when the pups were born. Sadly, there were none to be produced this time around. She was very good with pups, but was not sure how she would handle having some of her own. The excitement would be absolutely all around, with little puppy squeaks and bald bodies. The time would come for her pack to grow and experience this excitement. It would come soon enough.

Although somewhat dissapointed, Lakota allowed the newcomer to rest. After looking at her marks and finding them to her satisfaction, she realized they were no longer alone. Raising up her ears and letting out a slow growl, she noticed movement in the shrubs. Moving slowly forward, as did the male wolf, they came close within moments. Both wolves were large, and even of the same breed, unlike Maya, Lakota could see. Despite the fact that Lakota was a female, she came pretty close to this newcomers size. However, she was not intimidated and was suprised to she him lowering himself. Lakota stopped growling; this male meant no harm. As a matter of fact, he even apoligized for intruding.

Lakota glanced over to the resting Maya, but quickly ignored her. "Your are forgiven." Lakota calmly responded. "I am Lakota, alpha female of this pack. Welcome. Is there anything I can help you with?" Her mood had changed slightly to a more relaxed state. During which, she was able to be more observant and generally nicer. However, this newcomer was still a male, and a large one at that. She did not believe he would do anything harmful, but she was still not going to let her guard down. Shadows passed the ground, and the source were sleek, black birds. Above her, she could hear ravens cawing. They wanted food, and knew that she was able to help them get it. Those annoying birds have settled just recently. Because the pack was previously a pack of one, there was more food to go around. At first, she had little food to spare, but the pile grew every so often. After digging a cache, the birds could no longer get to it. One even landed on the shrub near the wolves, but Lakota passed it off.

OOC: Sorry about the lack of muse, I'm trying to post with all of my charries on about four other sites before I leave tomorrow. XP

IC: The resonating growl that came from the dominant female sent Roe further down towards the ground, his posture reducing even more into a submissive stance. But it seemed that the female understood that he meant no harm at all, since her growl ceased quickly after approaching him. Your are forgiven. I am Lakota, alpha female of this pack. Welcome. Is there anything I can help you with? A light sigh of relief escaped him. The tone present in her voice was delicate but stern, a perfect blend of compassion and power.

"My name is Roe, I was wondering if I may be permitted to join up with your pack."

A brief shadow flicker took Roe's eyes towards the sky. Black birds cawed their calls to one another, though Roe found them rather disgusting creatures. Picking whatever reminants of rotten meat the could find from a carcass days old.
