WELCOME

IT'S BEEN SIX, WHOLE YEARS.
it's been six years since jack sparrow was mutinied upon and stranded on a deserted island; until he was rescued by rumrunners. six years since hector barbossa weaseled his way into jack's life and stole the cursed aztec gold of hernando cortez, earning himself an eternity of unquenchable hunger and thirst. it has been six years for most, but it has only been four short ones since weatherby and elizabeth swann came over on the hms british navy ship to their new home in port royal, rescuing william turner II in the process. but what will happen between now and the future? everyone's fates are inching closer; and sooner or later, they are definitely going to collide. But until then, what happens for the next four years? That is all up to you.

"Fant is an awesome site. I would know, since I'm a moderator there. :] It's such a nice, awesome, and organized community, filled with interesting people from different places. The RP itself is set in a dreamtime state, where Maleficent has caused everybody, heroes, villains -- you name it, to fall asleep. This way all of the characters can travel anywhere they want without a real explanation. Again, it's a great site and our first official affiliate, so I reccomend you take a look!"

FACE CLAIM Keira Knightley

STATURE She’s an elegant girl, aware of her upbringing, but she has a bit of a ‘tomboyish’ way to her. She’d rather be able to run about than to simply be a portrait that everyone can look at. It annoys her father from time to time, but Elizabeth doesn’t ever mean to cause her father any trouble. She simply has to have that freedom to her.
APPEARANCEA rather beautiful woman, it’s hard to imagine that Elizabeth might one day become a pirate. Though she’s of average height, she has a slim build, one that people often mistake for weakness. Elizabeth is far from weak. Neighbors were always and are always trying to fatten Elizabeth up when they come to visit, though in Port Royale, those visitors are often few and far between. She has long arms and legs and her hands are slender and would be perfect for an instrument. Too bad she has little or no interest in the musical instruments others recommend to her. While Elizabeth is often aware of her lack of ‘womanly’ curves, being of a small chest and slim hips, she does have several dresses do her justice. She doesn’t much mind her shape, but she does mind the heaviness of the gowns.

Her face is slender with a small nose. Her lips are full and pouty, which she never admits to doing outright. Framing her dark eyes are her long lashes and her dark eyebrows. Her hair is long, about to the middle of her back in long waves of golden brown. Usually, she prefers to leave it part way down, but often occasions called for elaborate updos, nothing like the court fashions, and little hats, which she was grateful to keep the sun off. Lucinda’s skin is tanned from the sun, not too dark, but living in the Caribbean, it’s a residential hazard.

Typically, Elizabeth wears cotton dresses in as light a weight as she can in order to stay cool. She favors golden and slightly rosy colors, nothing too shocking or too ‘attention’ drawing. They are typically of an older fashion seeing as they are far from London and what is fashionable at court. She forgoes a restrictive corset in the Caribbean as much as possible, seeing as she doesn’t really need much of a corset. Elizabeth enjoys her freedom of movement, even when she’s in her home or about Port Royale.
PERSONALITY Elizabeth is a strong young woman, and a woman who has a strong sense of who she is and what she wants. Or so she thinks; she is only sixteen. She isn’t afraid to form her own opinions and voice them, even to people in power. Power means nothing to her, at least ranking doesn’t mean anything to her. She grew up in a household where she was the only child and then, the only woman, where people would allow her to say what she needed to say, so long as it remained within the confines of good manners. Her opinionated mindset doesn’t mean she isn’t polite or respectful, oh no. Her father would never allow that, and she adores her father. The young woman can be quite respectful and has shown on a number of occasions to go along with her father‘s decisions. If there is any place where the young woman holds her tongue, it is with her family and those she considers family, but she’s intelligent and she’ll manipulate a situation in order to find a way to voice her opinions, or get what she wants. Elizabeth isn’t cruel, not in definition, but she looks out for the well being of the group as a whole. She’d rather be the one who made the horrible decision and bare that weight than let someone else do it. Even from an early age, Elizabeth showed signs of what she would and could later become.

She isn’t a tame woman, either. Elizabeth is a spirited, independent woman, growing every day to be more and more like the mother she hardly knew. She has a passion that drives her to do anything, including protecting her father from scandal (at least at this point). Her fire and passion allow her to speak up and be bold when she should hold her tongue and be the prim and proper lady everyone knows she can be. And she can be prim and proper with the proper etiquette, but she longs to be able to fully run her own life. She looks at the sea and longs to just be able to flow with the tides like so many men, and yet, she can’t bring herself to do that to her father. He has been nothing but good to her, no matter how many times she has rebelled against him or the confines of her sex. Elizabeth is not a woman that could ever be happy with the confines of the polite world. A part of her knows this, and the great part knows that she could never just forget about the father that loved her and raised her.

Elizabeth is incredibly stubborn and headstrong and once an idea is in her head, isn’t about to let it go without a fight. Her big heart gets her stuck in situations where she’s ’forced’ into her stubborn attitude, afraid to let go of her idea. If she lets go, how much of herself is she giving up? Elizabeth won’t give up, not an inch; she can’t. Her will power is often her saving grace and coupled with her stubborn personality, often irritates her father, but it is always for the good. Elizabeth never intentionally means harm by her actions. She’ll stand by whatever decision she’s made, however, even if it turns out she’s wrong and she’ll hardly admit that she’s wrong. That doesn’t mean she won’t ever admit to her mistakes, but her pride does play a factor. It’s to be expected with her upbringing in the higher social class system.

She’s not a helpless girl and Elizabeth likes to be able to do things for herself. Yes, she has a maid, grown up with her lifestyle, she is accustomed to it, but she likes to have some measure on control over her life. Every thing is always planned out for her, except her feelings for Will Turner which puzzle her daily. Her gowns, the events she attends, where she will go during the day are all planned and while she goes along with it for the sake of her father, she’s often caught just looking out and hoping for a way to escape. She’s a girl who can and is able to look after herself and doesn’t mind getting a little dirty to do so.

PLACE OF BIRTH London, England
HERITAGE English
BIRTHDAY April 22nd

PARENTS Governor Weatherby Swann; Helen Swann (deceased)
SIBLINGS n/a
HISTORY It begins with the feisty, spirited Helen Swann. She was a woman who followed her heart and would later resurface in her dear daughter’s personality. No one would have thought she would have fallen for the proper, charmingly cautious Weatherby Swann and yet, Helen was captivated by this man who was so different from herself. Her parents, needless to say, were thrilled that she had chosen such a man to marry. They had feared the worse and that they would be forced betrothed their daughter to a man she did not like. Helen had wisely picked a man her family loved and she was in love with and that would provide her with a respectable home. It didn’t help that Weatherby had considerable standing at court, which allowed Helen to spend her days with a bit of excitement.

Helen became pregnant and the glow of motherhood became her. While the hope was always for a boy to carry the name, when little Elizabeth was born, she was an angel. Neither parent could deny that they loved the little girl and her bright, brown eyes that lit up at the world around her. As custom, the maids helped raise Elizabeth, but she saw her mother from time to time, enough to cement the image of her mother into her mind. Her first word was even “mama.” It was clear from the toddler’s age that Elizabeth was her mother’s daughter, beauty and spirit together. The maids, enchanted with her, allowed her to do as she wished, developing her free nature and when she reached for the bread to feed herself, found it charming that she wasn’t afraid to fend for herself.

When she was old enough, her father employed tutors in order to give his only child the best education he could. Elizabeth rebelled against it at first since it took away her free reign of the household, but she learned to enjoy it. Her tutor was a good woman who was patient enough with the only child. She was particularly fascinated with the New World and everything connected with it. It was during her tutor session, Elizabeth sitting at the window and listening to her tutor answer her questions about how trading worked, she heard a commotion. The servants rushed through the house, making little Elizabeth worried. She followed after, picking up her skirts like a mini-adult. The servants and her tutor wouldn’t let her get too close, scooping her up and confining her to her room. Elizabeth later was told that her mother had passed. It was a heart attack. Her father was devastated and Elizabeth learned to be strong for him, to do what he asked to make him happy and keep the load from his shoulders.

Some time after, her father was awarded a Governorship in Jamaica and Port Royal. Their things were packed and Elizabeth was excited to be going some place new. She wasn’t half as excited as she would have been if her mother had been alive, but there was a light in her eyes. On the ship, she pestered the sailors about their stories, about pirates. Her favorite spot on the ship was at the bow, watching the water break over the haul and humming her little songs she’d learned. It was during the trip to the Caribbean that she developed a friendship with James Norrington. He was an admirable and good man and no one like him had shown her attention before. For a twelve year old, that was something new. Her father didn’t often like his daughter’s head filled with fanciful stories, but that couldn’t be helped by now. It had started back with her tutor.

Her life changed when they rescued William Turner and she snatched up the pirate medallion. She knew what it would mean for him if they found it and Elizabeth couldn’t bear to see a boy like him hang. He was a welcomed edition to the ship, someone Elizabeth’s age, though she was always aware of the social distance between them. Her father often reminded her in his way and he never meant to build the rift between the two children. He had only looked after Elizabeth’s well being. Still, it made the long voyage that much more interesting. William, in her mind, was a pirate-boy, someone who had an exciting life. It wasn’t until she really got to know him that he proved to be a good man and how could such a man be a pirate?

Port Royale was new and a bit frightening. People watched as the new Governor made his way to their home with the little Elizabeth at his side. As soon as she set up her room, Elizabeth hid the medallion in one of her drawers, hopefully to be forgotten. With so few women about, she made fast friends with the maids that served her. They were her confidantes and she encouraged their openness… to an extent. She wouldn’t let them become too bold for fear that her father might discover and she would loose her friends. Still, they made great companions to accompany her into town, to pay a visit to William Turner now and again and to visit James Norrington. She was still a young woman, enjoying life though as she grew up, Elizabeth knew that the confines of her father’s world was becoming too tight for her.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
QUOTE
Spring was coming. It was in the air, everyone could feel it and everyone was infused with it. It was hardly surprising that the darker of the Carey twins was itching to be outside and in the spring air. The men at court seemed like they were chomping at the bit and who could blame them? Certainly not Anne. If she could, she would be right there along side them, cheering them on and making them forget all about the other ladies inside, the queen, the princess, their wives, everyone. Her father scolded her for it, and while that annoyed her (didn’t he want her to be better than what she currently was?), Anne wasn’t going to stop. Her younger sister had risen above them all and her twin, her precious, perfect twin, had a man to marry that she seemed to genuinely care for. They had their fairy tales endings. Where was Anne’s? Sure, talks were in the works for her to marry a Seymour, a good family to be sure, but Anne was a smart girl and the Seymour woman was pushing hard and fast. It alarmed her, though she said nothing yet. Time would come or it would not. She didn’t have enough evidence for one opinion or another. Ah well, it was spring, time for a whole new beginning.

She was awake early, perhaps earlier than necessary, but Anne couldn’t stand to sleep any longer. A jeweled toned blue dress awaited her, a new dress she’d commissioned with a new cut designed to dazzle and turn heads. It has been stored in her trunk until spring bloomed on the court and today was the perfect day for such a dress. She didn’t wear any jewels, not even her trademark pearls and simply left her hair unattended about her shoulders. No more hats to keep her warm, no more bulky cloaks that hid her figure, though she would miss sitting by the fires with warm drinks. With the extra time, she spirited away to the corridors, wandering about while the servants rushed to get the castle ready for the day. Anne snatched a flower from a vase and tucked it behind her ear. Then an idea hit her; her sister. They’d rarely had a moment to talk or even see one another. They might be as different as night and day, but Anne had to go and see her, if nothing else than to bother her at the start of her day, maybe coax her into a dress that was a bit more revealing.

With a destination, she hummed her way there and glided to a stop in front of the door. Anne couldn’t believe she was standing there. All their time at court, Anne and Amelia, the Carey twins, were hardly together. Anne didn’t walk in the same circles as her sweet, gentle sister. If she did, she had a feeling she’d go absolutely mad from the safety and security of it, or so she told herself. More than she’d care to admit, Anne envied her sister. The man she would marry seemed to like her deeply, though recently Anne was not blind to the rift growing there, and she would have position at court. Anne had nothing… yet, but one day. Oh, one day Anne would have everything, she would make sure of that. Her father would praise her for what she had created for herself and her sisters would envy her for a change and her dear brother, dear, dear brother, he would tell her what a job well done. Until that day, Anne kept smiling, kept playing her part.

Well, she was there and she couldn’t just turn around and not see Amelia. Perhaps Anne had been looking at it wrongly. Perhaps they should speak more, become the desirable twins at court; together they could be unstoppable. What a thought.

Anne rapped a little tune onto her sister’s door and then carefully turned it to peek in, not waiting for an invitation. “Dear sister?” she called, “It’s Anne, of course. Who else would it be? We simply must bombard the court with our presence.”
