Hello and welcome to kill the messenger! A relatively new site about vampires, angels, hunters and paranormal investigators and just about everything inbetween. Let your creativity run wild with any mythical being you choose to play, and keep in mind that there is a war going between vampires and angels. When Registering....
  • register with your characters FULL name.
    a good example would be
    Michael Smith
    or
    Alexander Moore
    for the married women
    Lisa Cuddy-House
    yeah, like that :]
    A very bad example would be:
    zomg!tonksluvercocorutu9854892y398457
    none of that.
  • do not post ANYTHING before you are accepted. i don't care if your name has been colored, but if your application has not been moved, DO NOT POST. it causes a lot of confusion between the staff. also, just posting before you are accept tends to irritate us, so don't do it.
  • reservations on canons will only be held for three days. after those three days and you don't do anything with the character, it is up for grabs once again.
  • unfinished applications are open for editing for three days UNLESS you tell an admin that you will not be able to finish it in that amount of time. if you will take too long on it, the admin has the right to tell you that the position will be up for grabs. if it isn't taken when you get back, feel free to reapply.
  • concerning unfinished and denied applications. if an admin tells you to elaborate and add more, do it. no ifs, ands, or buts about it. if your friends start mouthing off about it, they will be warned and so will you. control yourself, but also your friends. the admins get really sick of dealing with it.
When Posting....
  • make sure that your posts are at least a paragraph long. a paragraph is considered a good ten sentences, and that doesn't mean sentences like 'sirius walked over.' that means good sentences as in 'sirius walked over to remus, his eyes staring blank in confusion as he glanced down at the spell book and then to his friend.' now, it doesn't have to be quite so lengthy, but i think you get my point.
  • also, try to match the post length of the person you are rping with. if you're cranking out seven paragraphs, wouldn't it annoy you to see a one paragraph response? yes, that's what i thought
  • no discrimination allowed. not anywhere on this site. it won't be tolerated.
The Lives of your Characters...
  • pregnancy is cool. everybody loves the little babies, even i do, but it's unlikely for every single kid to be popping out the little tykes. it's probably going to be more alright for the older members to be having kids. anyway, if you want your character to have a kid, talk it out with the father/mother character's roleplayer. once all is confirmed, PM an admin who will give you the final word.
  • now on to the opposite side, dying. if you seriously don't want your character anymore, feel free to kill them. we will only allow this for ORIGINAL characters. we need the canons too much. unless it is in the plot for them to die(which it definitly is not), no canon characters will be experiancing death just so soon.
Site Rating...
  • this site is rated R. got a problem with it? don't join.
  • the swearing policy? i don't mind swearing. hell, i swear all the time. we just don't want your character cursing left and right. yes, they're gangsters, but give them a little more poise than they probably do in reality.
  • sex. yes we allow it, but if it is definitly in your thread, put a warning in the topic description. if it wasn't supposed to be, but it seems to be going that way, PM an admin and they will put it there for you. remember,we may have some younger members on the site or some members that don't exactly appreciate that sort of thing.
  • drug abuse. yes, we allow it. but seriously, if you're taking a canon, be reasonable with any sort of addiction. i can see a scene kid on heroin, but don't put a nerd on LSD.
  • violence. it's a yes. duh, it's ghetto jersey.
When Choosing Your Character's Play-By...
  • be reasonable. once again, if taking a canon, don't go too out of the ballpark with it. for example; bullies are tough. don't make them look like Nick Carter.
  • also, only REAL PEOPLE will be allowed. no cartoons, got it? they just annoy us.
  • when we say real people, we mean it. celebrities, unknown models, even myspace kids are allowed as long as they are actually human and not drawn on a piece of paper. how much simpler can we put it?
The OOC Rules...
  • no discrimination. we're all friends here. it's a hippie site. no fights, just peace, man.
  • oh yes, fighting. DON'T FIGHT, especially with admins. that is buying yourself a one way ticket to getting yourself banned. if you have problems, take it somewhere else. if you're fighting with another member, take it to PM. oh yes, and debates are allowed, but if they get out of hand the topic will be locked.
  • advertising is a good thing. feel free to advertise here, but ONLY in the correct forum. don't PM advertise, and don't advertise in the c-box, OK?
  • last but not least, HAVE FUN. remember, lucy is in the sky with diamonds. that's what roleplaying is all about, right?
