Who doesn't have a cell phone these days? No one is really the true answer. Whether you just need something to do while you should be working or need to inform your best friend that she shouldn't wear that hideous pink top, cell phones are the perfect way to communicate.

--- world wide web
Ah, the infamous Internet. It seems to be a place where the meek grow a backbone and the strong grow weak. A place of anonymity, yet at the same time, a place of familiarity. Maybe you want to talk to someone you don't even know just to get something off your chest. Or maybe you need to make some plans with the girls. Either way, the Internet is the way to go.

--- fine dining
Okay, so maybe the dining in good ol' Chester isn't so fine, but it's good enough for these folks. If you're looking for a cozy diner, some ice cream, a warm cafe, or just a place to get a good burger, you'll definitely find it inside Chester's city limits.

--- shopping
There isn't much shopping to be had in a town as small as Chester - it's not even big enough for its own mall! - but there are plenty of little shops on Main Street and grocery stores/supermarkets for you to waste your time in. It's all part of small town living.

--- parks & recreation
In the nice climate of Virginia, it would be a shame not to have any parks. Thankfully, Chester has plenty of them. There are even a few historical sites for you to visit; it's not shocking considering all the history the area has seen.

The little odds and ends of Chester: the police station, museums, hospitals, the movie theater, that sort of thing. You get the picture.

--- azalea place
Named for the flowers decorating the neighborhood, Azalea Place is the perfect place for a family. The houses are more affordable for the middle and upper middle class and the neighborhood is always kept up nicely.

Named after no one in particular, Appleton Apartments are where a majority of the younger population of Chester reside. With the sizes of the apartments fairly spacious and the bedrooms ranging from two to three, it's even a nice place for a young family.

--- elder park
This isn't the best place to be. It's one of the rougher neighborhoods in the otherwise gentle town of Chester. You might not want to be caught here at night. This place tends to breed crime.

--- waterford court
This is where the wealthy of Chester live. It's not the biggest neighborhood due to the lack of an upper class population, but if you've been saving or are reeling in the dollars, this is the place you'll probably be moving your family.

Richmond is bound to have museums and tons of them at that. Enduring most of American history, this place has seen a lot and there are more than enough museums and various historical sites to prove it.

--- shopping
Possibly the only reason for the younger crowd of Chester to head into 'the city', shopping is a definite special occasion. In richmond there is a much wider array of boutiques, and the chances of finding a designer dress to wow your date with are much higher.

We understand that your golden anniversary or twenty first birthday is simply too special to be spent at The Orchid Bar and Grille. Which is why Richmond is the place to be - most restaurants are far more upscale, but that's not to say you can't find a good Starbucks or two or five.

Richmond is filled with odds and ends - namless places that just don't fit. If you're not into history or politics or shopping and (god forbid) eating, perhaps you ought to check out what else it offers...

--- washington, d.c.
Chester, VA may be one of the tiniest places you've ever seen, but it's not completely cut off from the world. just in case Richmond isn't quite large enough for you, take a flight or a drive up to D.C. for the real high life, or maybe just a little history and politics.
