Cecily made her way into the growing church cemetery as quietly as she could almost like she was afraid that if she were loud she would wake the dead. The woman was careful where to step thinking it just rude to walk all over someone’s grave. It was their resting place and a person should respect the dead. The sun had just set leaving the air cooler then it was before the warmth of the day still lingered, a promise of better things to come once the long cool night was through. Cecily rubbed her hands down her jeans thinking that this was really stupid and she should just forget about it. She ran her fingers through her hair before rubbing them over the cloth of her green short-sleeved shirt. She told herself that she was being stupid for coming here at night and that her whole idea was stupid. She put a hand in her jeans packet and rubbed the small plastic baggie between her thumb and forefinger.

The only reason why she was here was because she needed grave dirt for a spell. No, it wasn’t an evil spell. It was that Cecily was trying to figure something out and hoped this casting would work. The only problem was the only thing she didn’t have was grave dirt. That wasn’t something she kept around and she was too ashamed to go look if she could buy some. Besides her mother told her to trust everything that she made herself, not what someone else made. Cecily could hear her mother’s voice telling her that when someone touched something or worked with it they left their energy on it. If she was going to use it for a spell then she should handle it herself because someone else’s energy might mess it up. The only reason to buy something was time or you couldn’t grow it. Cecily did think her mother a little old fashioned and superstitious but she always seemed to follow what she said. So, here she was in the middle of the graveyard at night looking for grave dirt. Cecily couldn’t help but thing what a bad idea this was.

Watch me get arrested. I can just read the headlines right now. High school English teacher arrested for grave desecration. Ms. White says that she needed some grave dirt. For what? A spell. Cecily shook her head. That’s so not going to go over well. She tried to empty her thoughts of any such negative thoughts. They weren’t doing her any good. She moved along looking for a grave that wasn’t so covered with grass. The dirt under would work but she hadn’t brought anything to dig with. The spell called for grave dirt not grave dirt and grass. Besides she didn’t want to get her nails dirty. So, she kept walking deeper into the cemetery trying to not be afraid by the growing darkness and the thought of a bunch of dead people under her feet. She hurried a little looking for somewhere, anywhere that looked good enough.

“I’m just getting it and leaving.” Cecily told the night her accent sounding odd in her own ears. She sighed and found a grave and knelt on top of it. Her eyes moved over the gravestone and she nodded as if the person was watching her right this very moment. “Thanks.” Cecily whispered. She took out the baggy and pulled some grass out. Finally she took a handful of moist dirt and put it in the bag. Cecily closed the bag and rubbed her hands on her jeans before slipping the bag into her packet. Cecily rose and dusted her hands off one more time.

She turned around and started for the exit. That’s when the feeling of being watched came over her and Cecily shivered. She turned around slowly and looked out into the night wondering if anyone was watching her or if she was over reacting to nothing. Cecily looked around one more time before turning around. The feeling of being watched didn’t leave her but the only problem was she didn’t see anyone here. “Hello?” She called into the night looking around once more.

Following the woman entering the cemetery, Jesse watched her with a keen interest, he knew of her to be someone interested in Wicca. Well he had watched her in chasing moonlight a few times and normally you could smell the magic off people. Sitting in the shadow of a tree he closed his eyes and threw out his senses, in a hope to somehow magically watch her from above. Though that ability was far from his range, and he was forced to observe the human way.

Standing up out of the shadow, he wrapped his light coat around him in an attempt to expel the night’s chill, which was strange for this time of year. Walking across the grass his combat boots made thuds on the soft ground.

The woman came in to view, just in time to see her scooping some earth from a grave into a small plastic bag and he smiled; a witch who was in touch with her powers plus a witch who was willing to push the boundaries of magic.

“Well, well, you ought to be careful or someone would think you’re planning a resurrection spell.” He said to her as he rested on a gravestone.

Cecily about jumped out of her skin when he spoke. She turned to face him about to cast a spell that would hopefully give her time to run away. She let out a nervous little laugh seeing that he was just sitting there not doing anything to harm her. Well at least now. That could change quickly. She moved hair behind her ear wishing that she hadn't done that because she just got some dirt in her hair. Great. She told herself to calm down to center herself. Really, walking around a graveyard at night wasn't a smart thing to do. It made people get the wrong idea about her and she didn't want that.

"I would never do a resurrection spell. They never really turn out well." Not only didn't it turn out well but it went against a lot of her morals as well. The dead should be left in their peace. Unless they were undead and then that was just scary. Cecily took a deep breath and let it out about to explain what she was going to try to do but didn't because she didn't know him. He had to know something of magic to name a spell. Her spell did have to deal with the dead but it was more like talking to them then trying to bring anyone back to life. Cecily had seen her share of zombie movies.

She crossed an arm over her chest giving him a good look over. "What are you doing here and why were you watcing me?" She didn't think that watching someone in the dark was very nice. It was just kind of creepy. Cecily didn't think she had much ground to stand on to throw stones at him for being in the graveyard at night but at least she could try.
